Looks like once again they're going to make a new girl the asshole of the bunch.  Looks like she and Chrisette are going to bump heads.  Glad they're off of the "let's everybody gang up on Chante for no reason" lame assed theme.

They didn't introduce the new girls yet.  I guess they felt they needed to get Chante, Lil Mo and Chrisette on speaking terms first.  And Lil Mo is married AGAIN!  Damn, she works fast.  Might explain why she's on marriage no. 3.  The smart thing isn't to get married and then get to know them.  You would think she'd have learned this already.  I bet her kids are hella confused.  Bummed that they really did drop Claudette.  Not believing their lame "she's in Jersey making money" bullshit.  :-(

I actually think Chrisette told the truth in that lil trust talk. She wanted Chante to think she was the specialist snowflake and play Glenda to her Dorothy, and when Chante said no, Chrisette got all in her feelings.

I'm so irritated with these women. They're all running around acting like Chante seriously wronged THEM. As if they have done or said nothing that was out of line or they were not the ones issuing threats (I'm looking at you Mo). You can't be mad at her for bringing security when you were constantly threatening physical harm to her. I'm even more upset that they were asked back to the show after behaving in such crappy ways and that Claudette was given the boot. I refuse to believe this wasn't good for her "career" if for no other reason than the paychecks. 

 

That being said, it looks like the new chicks are straight crazy. How does the chick from X-factor who kept saying that she wanted to be a pop star and not in a R&B box, that Whitney slapped, that allegedly has a kid with Bishop Noel Jones from Preachers of LA/Grace Jones' brother, end up on a show about R&B or Divas? This ought to be entertaining.

Brave is a sweatheart! She is just a bit more flashy than Claudette and appears to not be a drama magnet.  Stacy Francis is going to be the fly in this ointment.

 

Back to episode 2 of "We Love Leela" (you know we all do!): Chrisette is a piece of ... something and shady as hell.  It says something about you if your bipolar younger brother doesn't even want to work with you in the same industry.  She is a pushy thing! Making her brother sign with her label and making everybody wear wings to her party; enough!   I also didn't like the way she interacted with Brave.  I don't deny her talent, but her personality stinks.

I don't like Leela James!  There...I said it.  And I also don't like Chrisette, but I love her talent.  I love her type of music and I think she's very creative.  She just needs to reel in the cray cray personality a bit.  I think maybe her brother isn't the only bipolar child her mother raised.  Just sayin.

 

I can't form an opinion on Brave yet.  Just off of first impressions, I think she's nice and has a body to die for.  I just never heard of her.

Very little Chante this episode but that may be because she was featured more last episode.  I guess this is Chrisette's episode.

From what I remember, Chante wasn't nice to them.  She wasn't mean to them, but she wasn't nice either.  If something else happened, yeah, we need to see it.  Otherwise this is annoying.

I understand the need for sisterhood among women. But what most of these women want is someone to worship them, not be friends with them.  I'm sure Chante could be a good friend, but she is not going to kiss anyone's ass.  Then she becomes a bitch for not wanting to kiss ass! 

 

I'm not looking forward to Stacy Francis' introduction because conflict seems to reside in her spirit.  She can sing, though.

I don't know how I feel about Leela yet, but this show has RUINED Chrisette for me.I'm truly over her thinking someone is supposed to kiss her ass or something. Also, that obnoxious screaming she's picked up this season has already worn thin for me. She can leave my screen anytime now. In fact, go back to the original ladies, even Kelly Price with her horridness. They're light years better than the current line up of "divas." And speaking of divas, this show has certainly remixed that term, adding people who most of us have never heard of. I miss Atlanta R&B divas. Are they coming back?

I still wish they could get Stephanie Mills, Evelyn Champagne King or Karyn White to be on this show or the Atlanta version.  All three have the most unique and distinguished voices I've ever heard and they can blow any one of these ladies out of the water.  Then again, maybe they're too classy for this show.  Plus, I guess the producers would probably think they are a little too old school.  If that's the case, how about Deborah Cox.  She did a phenomenal job doing the singing for Whitney Houston's biopic.  If I hadn't seen it in the credits, I would have sworn I was hearing Whitney's voice.

Wikipedia says it was cancelled 1/14/15 "after 3 seasons", but also has a graph of season 4 talent. (Maxine from En Vogue, Ledisi, Monica, Adina Howard, Tweet and Angie Stone. So that's weird.

The chance of getting some real R&B Divas from back in the day is gone. Had they been grabbed from the beginning I think there'd be a fighting chance that this show could have longevity because their presence could've helped shape the series in a different way but now? Not a chance. Plus it seems like they're going for younger demo like the Love & Hip Hop and Atlanta Housewives series in an effort to ratchet up the drama because Brave and Stacy? Really? Lil Mo is already too much more than enough.

 

Phil Thornton, one of the producers of the show, said that the Atlanta ladies' contracts have ended and no contracts have been renewed yet but the show has not been officially cancelled. Make of that what you will.

I don't care about Leela's attitude about Brave wanting to practice. Brave is essentially 1 step up from a nobody, she doesn't have the option of looking unprepared.

I don't care about Michel'le being hours late to some bullshit hookup with Mo's father in law.

I don't care about Chrisette's brother, although yeah her lashes are way too big.

I don't care about Mo not explaining what Brave should be watching out for. "Just be you" isn't actually advice.

Not only are they boring, but even they look bored.  In the first season Chante was so bubbly and fun loving.  Now she seems quiet and downtrodden.  I bet it's because the producers continue to try to make her a bad guy and she's just not.  Plus, I bet she's disillusioned that this show hasn't catapulted her career rebirth as well as she thought it would.  Also, her only real ally Claudette is no longer on the show.  :-(

 

 

 

 

Good Lawd!  Am I the only one watching this show?  <...crickets...>   Well, I guess I am.  I'm having to post in a post that I did last week since nobody else has posted since then.  Not a good sign.  I have a feeling this is the last season for this show. 

 

Anyway, judging by the conversation between Leela and Chrisette, it seems that this season Mo has been chosen as the bad guy.  It couldn't have happened to a more deserving person!  Now she'll know how Chante felt last season.  And poor Michel'le.  She's so out of it she can't remember that she made a date with Mo's father-in-law.  Girl has serious issues.

 

The whole Jesse Jackson thing where ya girl starts singing happy birthday right before the group is supposed to sing happy birthday seemed so set up it was pathetic.  It's the type of producer setup that makes me wonder how many of those people on that stage were in on it.  Crazy!    <...crickets...>   smdh

Like I said, my DVR didn't pick up last week's episode and it's not on OnDemand.  I'm not going on a hunt for this show.  Maybe the same thing happened to other people.

 

Leela is the only one whose makeup is flattering to her color, especially her lip products.  Chrisette and Mo wear these fuchsias and frosty pinks and hot pinks and they're just ugly.

 

Who is this Stacy woman?  I am not impressed by the vocals at all.  And she knew full well that she was not a part of the group asked to stand.  Chante had some of that fakey fake stuff going on.  It must have been awkward to be the one sitting next to her and feel like you have to make conversation, but she didn't have to say Stacy was awesome (because, no), but she could have just said congrats.

I really feel for these ladies.  The entertainment industry is hard and it's even harder for black women.  It seems like there are so few spaces for female singers and even fewer for black female singers; no wonder they all seem to hate each other.

Stacy can go kick rocks.  I don't know that Chante has really said anything disparaging about Kenny.  She's obviously angry with him and wants nothing to do with him, but I don't remember her airing dirty laundry.  But because Kenny is nice to Stacy in social situations, he's automatically the good guy?  And why is she telling Chante that they don't have authentic friendships?  I mean, they don't, but what does that have to do with anything/what business of hers is that?  Especially using her example.  Chante was right.  The table was huge and they were in the very front.  Were they supposed to yell to each other?

 

Brave seems like a nice woman, but she really is pointless.  I loved the reactions to the guy who took off his shirt uninvited.  She made such a big deal out of Music Choice, but aren't they just the company that plays music in the 800s channels through your cable?  They don't even play videos, do they?  I guess any get is a good get.

 

I loved that Michel'le immediately called Stacy out on inserting herself in a situation that had nothing to do with her.  At all.  Michel'le is right: Mo is not a mute.  Far from it.  She either needs to accept her apology or don't accept it, but don't say "OK" but still sit there fuming while Michel'le thinks that everything is fine.

 

I can handle Chrisette's extraness and snobbery and condescension if it's directed towards Stacy.  She definitely made me laugh tonight when Stacy tried to say that there wasn't a confrontation going on and Chrisette, voice dripping with disdain, said, "Obviously there is."  And Stacy was still flapping her gums (to no one) when Michel'le decided to leave her own birthday party.  Talking about people can't act like it's all kumbaya when there are issues.  Shut.  Up.

 

That dance music was a good look for Michel'le.

The only thing Chante said about her ex was that he was trying to get custody of their son.  She expressed that she was angry with him but who wouldn't be in that situation.  (He wasn't successful by the way.)

I believe Music Choice does play videos.  I think they started by playing only music on you 800's through the cable, but that was eons ago.

 

Stacy got in the middle of a situation that had nothing to do with her.   In fact, she should have gotten up and let Mo and Michel'le sit together.  I think Stacy is too much "Look at ME." 

 

I don't know who Brave is, but to me, she looks like she's had a little too much plastic surgery.  She kind of reminds me of  Jocelyn Wildenstein.

I just caught the first 2 episodes and I am seriously disturbed by that new chick Stacy. And I really wish Chrisette did not do this show. I loved her and her sobg Charades. Love that song and video. I swear, the biggest mistake TV One did was adding this crazy assed psycho Stacy to the show.  Great way to lose more viewers TV One!  She is nothing but conflict in every scene she's in (and she was in way too many scenes this episode for my liking).  Plus, I hate her voice.  And she didn't even win the singing competition she was on so why is she even considered for this show?  I am seriously hating this show this season.  STOP MAKING THE WHOLE SHOW ABOUT HER TVONE!!!  DAMN!!!

Brave emerges as this episode's MVP, though, really, all of them are heroes for blowing off Stacy's gig.  Stacy pops off at someone every time she gets together with them, but she expects them to take time out of their schedule to see her terrible ass perform?  Oh my gosh.  They have yet to air a single performance of hers where I'm not scrunching up my face in terror.  It looks like the producers have gotten in on the act because they keep zooming in on all manner of people's faces which are seizing involuntarily when they hear her.  Michel'le had the right idea: get some free product and keep it moving.

 

Back to Brave, I was super impressed by her, IMO, presence of mind to start praying when everyone needed to Summer, Donna.  Her rapping was a surprise to me and seemed like she was legitimately gifted in it rather than Mo who I think is just fine.  I don't lean in to Mo's verses like I feel I would with Brave.  I love that Warryn Campbell was impressed enough to invite her back.  Seriously, I was looking on iTunes for that song she played for him.  She's better than me for letting Stacy run her mouth and think she was doing something because her rants were just aching for a well placed punch in the throat.

 

So you mean to tell me that they would rather have a crappy verse in the song so they could hold Chante to their unbreakable vow to write their own verses than to have something meaningful in the song?  Really?  Or was the issue that they didn't want Chante to outshine them by singing something written by a legit songwriter?  That had to be the case, because all of this preening about Chante's "shade" made no sense.  They didn't consult with Warryn before agreeing that they would write their parts, but Chante's wrong because she went to a songwriter/his sister about her part?  I also have no problem with Chante asking for 1% of the proceeds; even at 94% (...or...how many people are on this show now?) it would probably still be more than what other charity songs, percentage-wise, give to their cause.  Now, once it's been asked and everyone responded, then that should have settled the issue.  I feel like it was settled, but Mo decided to bring it up for whatever reason and Chante felt she had to defend herself.  She should have just let that go; Mo was obviously trolling.

I also got the vibe that it was settled before and brought up again to be messy. Bye Chrisette!
