If this was a normal year, we would've already gotten a cast reveal. I'm sad!

So, here's my All Stars dream cast, with no regard to an even gender split or who would actually get asked back or anything, just the 16 people I'd actually want to see again. Starting at BB8 though so it's post first All Stars.

Jen, BB8 (My all-time fave. I can't see her ever doing it again though and I very much can't see them asking her lol.)
Eric, BB8 (I mean, I don't like him, but if anyone actually deserves another chance, it's him.)
Sharon, BB9 (Robbed! And I'm still annoyed about it!)
Keesha, BB10 (The fact that she's never played again is a travesty.)
Porsche, BB13 (My second all-time fave.)
Jodi, BB14, (Just because I feel bad lol.)
Danielle, BB14 (Such fun!)
Candice, BB15 (Someone else who really deserves another chance.)
Elissa, BB15 (It'd be interesting to see what she's like in a house that isn't full of racists.)
Donny, BB16 (The only saving grace of that season.)
Audrey, BB17 (We had such little time with her and I need more.)
Vanessa, BB17 (Pure gold, entertainment wise.)
Shelby, BBOTT (If we never see her on the regular version it will be a travesty!)
Raven, BB19 (I mean!)
Rachel, BB20 (We didn't see enough of her. I think she could be a surprise contender or at the very least a fun mess.)
Christie, BB21 (For the drama.)

I might do one that's a bit more realistic while also being something I wouldn't totally hate later.

Suggestion:

Make BB22 an All Stars 2 season but invite everyone that we hate. We can even vote on it. So we'll gather the Frankies and the Pauls and the Paulies in the house. And then we replace the ants with giant murder hornets. Discuss.

Dream cast (this is going to be tough).  I will go with post-original All-Stars as well.  In no order and I put people I do not like on the list as well because I have to have people to hate watch.

I tried to go no winners but I ended up putting Kaycee on the list because I like her.  The guys were far tougher to pick than the women.  I was struggling to find enough men to put on the list.  I was going to put Libra on the list but I thought there would be too many season ten women on there so I selected Porsche instead.

 

Edited to add:  Kaitlyn, Brett, Blockstar, Rachel Swindler, Haleigh, Johnny Mac, Austin, Christie Murphy, Cliff, Tommy, Kat, Alex Willett (Never saw her season but I liked her on Sequestered and she's cute), Kevin Schlehuber, Raven (hate watch), Natalie Negrotti, and a few others are all players that I would like to see but I had to make my cuts.

The current revival of BB Australia is trying to fuse its original format with the BBUS format, with the "sadistic comedy" tone of BBUK. They've kept the old-style shopping tasks for food (think BBUS1's weekly tasks) but added a rebranded HOH (with no "if you win, you sit out next time" rule) making the nominations, only they nominate three people and there's no Power of Veto. And... like, they've probably gone too far towards BBUS for it to work in Australia, but the basic concept feels like it would be a really good evolution for the US. They seem to want more nominees with the twists they've tried over the past few years, and there's no real reason for the back-to-back rule now that people routinely throw challenges to avoid winning, and you could use the shopping tasks as cheap filler now they've stopped doing Have Not competitions. The only real thing that might need to be changed is the lack of a Veto, which despite what it represents in terms of strategy has been stagnant since backdooring was invented fifteen years ago. And you could easily do something like "HOH nominates three people, the Veto MUST be used to save one, leaving two nominees", which really brings the Veto back to its original concept in an unobtrusive way that would also tend to favour the sort of people the show likes without being blatant riggage like most BBUS twists are.

You lost me there because I tend to utterly hate the kinds of people the show likes so I don't want anything that's gonna give them even more advantages lol.

Right! I wish TPTB would stop treating OTT as such an afterthought because the masses deserve to experience Shelby!

I hadn't watched it when it was airing (I didn't have CBS All Access at that time) and by the time I was finished watching the episodes after the fact, I was bummed I didn't have the live feeds to enjoy also. The casting for OTT was great and they should really let whoever cast that season do the main ones also.

Yea, I could see it maybe not being as amazing without the feeds. I didn't even watch the episodes lol.

I think it was still Robyn Kass who cast it, wasn't it?. I don't understand why they won't cast that way for the regular show.

I swear I remember reading that it was someone different who got to do it that season. I want to say someone who worked on the show, but wasn't part of the regular casting team? Or at least someone who hadn't had any final say on anything before that point. I could be wrong, though, because I would have read about this a while ago.

If it *was* Robyn, then it's stupid she doesn't cast that way consistently.

Oh I wasn't meaning it in a good way, just in a "this is why they would want to do it" way.

I THINK it was the person who is in charge of Canada's Big Brother. I know the comps were from the CBB show.

Since the cast will be announced on Monday and there are a lot of (personally) undesirables on there with some potential "YAY!"s and a few "Eh, whatevs, we need first outs", I will instead switch from a cast wishlist to the one thing I want more than anything ever in Big Brother.

BRING. BACK. PRESSURE COOKER. (For those that haven't seen BB6, here's the broadcast version of it: Part One, Part Two, Part Three - Youtube links.)

It's beautiful, simple torture. A plexi-glass box with a button you have to hold down: you can't sit, you can't kneel, after eight or so hours you can only use one hand and never switch or touch the box the button is in. No bathroom breaks, no food or drink. This isn't your nü-BB "endurance" challenge where it's won in under two hours. It lasted 14 fucking hours. The sun went down, the sun came up. I remember going to bed, getting up, and the competition was still happening. We won't talk about the end (WTF Kaysar! You were right. there.), but man, it's a beautiful competition. Production, on the other hand, seems to think the comp is boring and lasts too long. They've never done it again even though we beg for it every year. 

That is my wish for BB22: AS2: Analyze That. 

Also I still won't say no to murder hornets. Just throwing that out there.

I've been using Covid Times to work my way through old seasons of Big Brother UK on Youtube, and as much as a lot of the things from that show can't really be modified for BBUS (though, definitely, much more CAN be than Grodner seems to think), the one thing that's really noticeable is how much better they handle season premieres.

It's not that different than BBUS - the house tour Julie does for ET is done live, the players are introduced and enter one at a time, and there's a twist that usually amounts to either "the first person in gets a secret live task" or "nominees are picked differently this week", and that's the entire show - but they're so good at selling the tone that you kind of don't care that you just spent an hour and a half watching almost nothing happen.

I know that pacing would never work for BBUS (not least of all because it would require Chen-Moonvesbot to actually pay attention for once), but certainly we could at least replace the bland, cheesy, repetitive, quarter-assed key sequences with BBUK-style video introductions that highlight players' personalities instead of reducing them to cartoon stereotypes. That'd still happen sometimes (he fucking sucks and I apologise in advance for this link, but Frankie did the UK's celebrity version one year and his intro went about as well as you'd expect), but it would improve the show enormously if we actually saw why they picked THIS awful white gym jock instead of THAT awful white gym jock, you know?
