Culture Check: How can we discuss a character's or actor's appearance without objectifying them? How can we express likes or dislikes and still respect an individual's humanity or be mindful that a character represents a person someone else might relate to or identify with?

I saw the first half of the show, and LOL that Carly and Brennan are sipping Champagne on the Q patio.

Cody is such a manchild. Are we sure he's not actually Sonny's son instead of Mac's? What a whiner!

I really like Maxie as her cohort's agony aunt, as it were. She knows everyone, their histories, and has become surprisingly sensible about things. I also think KSt has a terrific warmth that really comes through.

Based on today, you can add Cody/Molly to that list.

Yes, I was thinking that, too -- and Jason/Sasha, to the extent that Jason ever actually shows agitation.

I can't help thinking it's kind of cute that Olivia and Lois have a mutual grandchild they'll be able to fuss over.

But since this has been in the wind for awhile, it would have made sense to show Gio interacting with Rocco a little bit prior to the brothers reveal? We HEAR about all these young adults roaming around the mansion, but we don't see a lot of it.

So Jason is going to Germany to wake up “in excruciating pain Michael” to ask him what to do about a 3-month along pregnancy?

It would be hilarious if they carted CD out every few weeks to wake Michael up into excruciating pain just to ask him innocuous things. Example, Carly stating Michael’s favorite ice cream is mint chocolate chip, and Jocelyn saying it’s cookie dough, so they hop on a flight to Germany to wake him up and ask.

Like Jason, chill the baby won’t be born for another 6 months.

Jason and Diane half-ready to file a custody suit on Michael's behalf, JFC.  Also, Diane, your client is in a coma, maybe take a breath with the 'working on the custody case.'  Like, is there a fucking plan when they take the kids from Willow?  Carly's getting her schnitzel on with Jack in Germany, Sonny is danger--what, are we back to nannies at the Qs?

God, I hate the way this show does custody battles.

I also rolled my eyes that BLQ told Lois she's thinking she could get access to the child she gave up for adoption because "it may be my only chance to be a mother to my own biological child." The kid wasn't frozen in time at birth waiting for you, BLQ.

Why do they write BLQ to be so dim? No matter who is the father, if you give birth to a baby, it is your "biological child", so using donated sperm is not going to prevent that. Also, this is a difficult time for Chase, while he's coming to terms with his infertility, so suddenly springing a previous child (and a grown one, at that!) on him is not going to help him feel better about that.

I thought the Jason scenes made sense and didn't reflect badly on him. He explained his POV clearly. It wasn't in character that Michael would just agree to walk away from his kid. In fact, on these boards, we were all shocked that Michael did that so easily because it was unlike him.  So, Jason questioning it makes sense. Especially when, as Sasha admitted herself, she is a known lying liar who lies.

Jason also told Sasha he just wanted to hear it from Michael. He didn't call her a liar. He didn't say there was no way what she was saying wasn't true. He allowed to Diane that he could be wrong as well. It was just that it was out of character for Michael.

I also don't think Jason is treating Michael like a 5 year old. Right now, Michael is literally in a vulnerable, helpless state. Yet, Jason is still waiting to take any action until he speaks to him... in other words, he's treating him like an adult. Just one who is incapacitated by injury right now.

Re: Cody saying that Jason was the father, I actually thought that was a clever bit of writing. (Shocking for this bunch.) By having it done this way--and not in an outburst from Cody making it seem more real rather than paranoia, it makes sense that Sasha and Jason will likely go along with it. Not doing so could open the door to questions about who exactly the father really is. So, good job there.

Of course, since I like Sasha and Jason, I'm all for it!

I actually applauded when Cody complained to Molly that his feet are always been held to the fire while there are career criminals in town who answer to no one.  Truth bomb!

And I thought it was good that he reached out to Maxie when he needed someone to talk to.

If he said it at a different time and under different circumstances, I would agree. Cody's getting in trouble because he's acting out in public, at someone's place of business because he's feeling a lot of self-pity and resenting what he perceives as others living the good life. He picked the fight with Drew, who at this point is not a career criminal.  He punched Lucky, an employee of the business, for stopping/trying to cool down the hostility he was directing toward Spinelli. Now he's mad, assuming Jason got to be with Sasha and they're having a baby but Jason isn't going to "answer to" anyone for it. Umm, Sasha wasn't Cody's girlfriend when she got pregnant and even if Jason was the father neither Sasha nor Jason owe Cody anything.

To me, Cody sounds like Drew, being mad that anyone is holding him accountable for things he actually did because others have done "the same/done worse." Yes, Jason has killed people and yes, Quartermaine family members have cheated and lied about stuff but that doesn't make Cody punching guys/causing disturbances in businesses or Drew getting involved with his nephew's wife and breaking up a family totes okay.

You don't think "Chase, I love you and I don't want you to feel bad that you can't get me pregnant because I had a baby when I was 16, so I'm already a mother.  Oh!  And the father is your best friend" will put his mind at ease?
