I agree that the most they should have got is manslaughter, and I also think that they should have been out long ago. At the end of the series with Eddie Falco, their aunt told Leslie that she believed the nephew who said he was also molested by his mother (I can't remember now which son it was) because her sister was molested by their mother. So yes, I believe both parents were molesters, are well as pretty despicable parents even without the molesting aspect.

This is my favourite episode since the series began. From Cat Stevens' "Where Do the Children Play", to LIttle River Band's "Lonesome Loser", and every minute before and after I was hooked. Justin Hartley was amazing, and deserves and Emmy nomination for that performance. It is so nice to see him finally get a meaty story line. I love the idea of an episode focusing solely on one character as I sometimes find the writers include too many characters and too many ages/stages in one episode that it is hard to get vested in the episode. This one though did me in. Well done, show.

As far as I can make out (and again, I thought the presentation was very poor) you are renting the model for $17 a week. It stays at your house, as when it has cut your grass it also needs to dock and recharge. So I can't see that it is being transported from house to house during the course of a day. That would be a waste of manpower (and presumably gas to transport it via a vehicle - the horror!). I don't think they ever said either how long a charge lasts? But yes, if you are renting for $17 a week and live where you have grass growing year round, you could buy one and have it paid off in a couple of years. No need for them at all. I also didn't understand how they are losing a million dollars a year, while supposedly making millions. Their numbers seemed a bit fishy. With so many pitches over two hours last night I can't even remember - did they get a deal?
-
I refer to edging as trimming. But in their pitch they said to rent the mower only it is $17 a week, $25 for edging and trimming, and $37 for weeding and shrub trimming. So you would still have the problem as I posted above of having the areas that need to be "edged" higher than the rest of the grass that is being trimmed daily. If I hated cutting my lawn I would just hire the guys that come to fertilize/weed to cut it weekly. But I prefer to cut my own lawn - in a neat and orderly fashion, not randomly where ever the lawnmower decides to go. In any case they did not invent the machine - there are several already on the market. They are only "inventing" the first lawn care service (so they say) that uses them. So they have nothing to sell (product wise) and anyone could knock off their lawn care service idea.
-
You described their idea much better than the pitchers did. I still seems like a dud to me, though. So your grass gets cut every day, but you hire the company to come once a week to trim? So the areas that need trimming with be glaringly longer than the rest of the grass? Just don't get it. As far as the sensors goes, do many people have fencing around their entire lawn? Most people I know might have a back fence and/or side fence, but none at the front. We have no fencing at all. I did google the product and found that it cuts like a Roomba vacuums, as in randomly. Personally I prefer my lawn to be cut in a neat pattern. But then I like cutting my grass, so would never buy this product anyway. That is what I love about Kevin - he laughs at himself as much as he does at others. He often brings up his love of wine and knows he will get mocked. He laughs as hard or harder than the other sharks. Some sharks have no sense of humor about themselves, but he isn't one of them. Thanks to all for the answers regarding why double episodes of Shark Tank are being shown. The funny thing is, I was watching Ten Days In The Valley and noticed it wasn't on the last few weeks, but didn't care enough to find out why. Since I sometimes watch shows on American networks and sometimes Canadian, I didn't notice that they were both ABC shows. Looks like it going to come back mid December on Saturday nights. It must have had brutal ratings for it to be pulled after only 4 episodes, when it is only 10 episodes long to begin with. Well deserved brutal ratings, I might add.
-
I didn't think the robot lawnmower guys explained their product well at all. They mentioned something about cutting your lawn a bit every day? Why would I want a lawn that is constantly at different levels of grass length? And I understand the perimeter wires so it doesn't go beyond that, but if it isn't cutting the whole yard at once how does it know where to start the next day? How long does it stay charged? I also thought their comment about lawn care providers often being unreliable odd as there was nothing to prevent the contractors they hire from being unreliable as well. If I was ever going to use such a product I would just buy it. But for the 45 minutes a week it takes to mow my lawn, I am not going to stress about how bad my gas mower is for man kind. I just don't care. I commented to hubby that since they have been bringing on guest sharks this season, it seems that in the episodes when it is the core group of sharks, they seem to really be enjoying each other's company. The continual toasting to Kevin's wine designation was hilarious. Also the two guys with the pantomime of reeling in a fish were so funny. Does anyone know why they keep airing double episodes every Sunday night? Way too many pitches for my brain to keep track of.

Wow, that was just one bad scene after another. I felt like I was watching some high school drama club putting on a really badly written play. The worst was Archie's scenes. In the car with Abby, his way of portraying anger was to slouch down behind of the wheel of the car, peering over the wheel and glaring, while barely able to see over the steering wheel. The funniest line was in the storage locker where he basically said "Let me take you away from all of this. We can have everything we have ever wanted". As if the Newman-Abbott princess, worth half a billion dollars, has always wanted a boyfriend who is a loser, a pimp, and has a chip on his shoulder because he is from the wrong side of town. And looks like a goofy cartoon character to boot. Every girl's dream for sure, particularly Victor Newman's daughter. Who writes this drivel?

The Bachelor Canada - General Discussion
UsernameFatigue replied to Meredith Quill's topic in The Bachelor Canada
I really wonder about some of the job descriptions for these women. Brittany is a pageant contestant and a humanitarian? First part is a given, but the last? Unlikely. Also what is a luxury nomad traveler? And how does one finance such a 'job'? Another (can't remember which) is a youth care practitioner. Is that a nurse practitioner who works with kids, or something else completely? I am surprised that Chris thought his date with Brittany was the most romantic of his life. The only thing out of the ordinary was the helicopter ride (which Brittany was too shallow to appreciate and just wanted to make out). The rest was pretty much run of the mill. Even the band at the end was hardly unusual, especially in a tropical vacation place. He really had a pretty low bar for romance. But then, he did pick Brittany. I am surprised that Katie is dying to tell him that she is falling in love. I would expect an A type to be a bit more cautious, especially given that most likely several other girls feel the same way. Looks like it might scare him away. At the moment Brittany (ugh), Mikela, Lindsay and Katie seem like the front runners. I couldn't feel too sorry for Mikela when she was upset that Brittany spent time with Chris the night of the rose ceremony even though she had a rose. Mikela did the same thing a week or two ago. I though it was sweet of Chris to give Meghan a rose. That girl really needed a boost to her self esteem. Though I don't think she has a chance of being even in the final 4, I think it was sweet of Chris realize the rose would mean a lot to her. -
S02.E05: Chapter Eighteen: When A Stranger Calls

I really wonder who the show's target audience is? I would have thought teenagers (since it is about teenagers) and 20 somethings? I am sure the show attracts all ages, but I do wonder who they are hoping to attract? My husband's cousin and her family were on a ferry going to Vancouver Island this summer. Cole and KJ happened to be on the same ferry, and cousin's kids recognized Cole and KJ and had their picture taken with them. The kids are 11 and 14, so presumably if they recognized them they watch the show. I don't know this season if, as a parent of tweens or young teens, I would be happy about that. Whereas I would have had no problem last season. I do love Cole and Lili together on the show, and was not surprised to read that they are a couple IRL. -

With each passing episode, I am liking this season less and less. The story line is just over the top. Because some friend of Veronica's has drugs at a party, everyone except Betty decides to partake? Not buying it. And way too much violence for me - from thepdrugging/attempted rape, to beating up of the wannabe rapist, to Jughead getting beat up as part of an initiation. Way, way too dark for my tastes. The only second I was even remotely entertained was when Alice Cooper entered the party - I thought for sure it was Cheryl. I will give it one more episode, but if the series continues down the road it appears to be following, I will be taking the nearest exit. -
Vicki Gunvalson: Her Love Tank Runneth Over
UsernameFatigue replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
As much as I dislike Vicki, I don't like Brianna any more than I do her mother. She is a giant user. When she was in OK she had Vicki continually flying there because she was bored and didn't like it there. And for a second time (the first several years ago) she accepted Vicki helping her buy a car (or lease -whatever). As a married woman and mother she should have said no, but she didn't. Then she moves back to the OC because she doesn't like OK, and needs to be closer to her drs. But I also remember her saying that she missed the OC. She lets her mother help her buy a house. Who knows who paid for the renos. She also seems to have used Vicki quite often as a babysitter, and Steve as a male figure for her kids, since she abandoned her hubby to move back to the OC. Now two shorts months after Ryan is discharged they are moving to NC? Because she has never liked the OC? Sure, Brianna. More likely, Vicki is being demoted to FOH or fired, so no more RHOC money coming to Brianna. And I would imagine Vicki and Ryan have clashed since he has been out of the picture for a couple of years. So while they may have legit reasons for wanting to move to NC, I don't think Brianna will last. She is too much of a princess, and as dependent on her mother as her mother is on her. I think she will be back within a year, with or without Ragey Ryan.- 2.7k replies

I spent the whole time (both times I was dragged to the show) feeling sorry for the horses that this is their life. Racing up and down a dark arena and having to listen to stupid cheering people. I also pictured their time when they were not 'performing' being stuck in some underground stalls, never seeing the light of day. Totally depressed me both times.

Your first paragraph is why I have no sympathy for Peggy. I agree that she came on the show with orders to be Vicki's cheerleader. For someone who has spent the whole season talking about her cancer (which she didn't have, she was pre cancerous - but whatever) and someone who's mother actually did die of cancer, I am Dis. Gust. Ed. that Peggy would even agree to this. Become fast friends with a stranger who perpetrated not one, but two cancer scams. The first to prop up her boyfriend and give them a storyline. The second scam to promote her business. Peggy richly deserves to be given the Vicki treatment. She is just lucky that it hasn't (at least yet) extended to Vicki spreading rumors about her, and her husband. This is the first time I have seen Diko exasperated with Peggy, to any degree. It is long overdue.

I think Diko was upset with Peggy because he realized the Iceland trip may be their nail in their coffin where the show is concerned. I agree that he loves the orange even more than Peggy. But if a HW spends half of the trip holed up in her room, and is such a diva that she refuses to even fly home with the other HWs, why would she be asked back for another season? He did seem genuinely upset with her (for maybe the first time this season), and I think he is smart enough to know (as opposed to his wife) that it is curtains for Diko's free business commercials. I should clarify my Iceland comment. I don't think the show (Lydiot?) did much of a job of showing what is likely a diverse climate in Iceland. What they showed for the most part was very stark and not to my liking. I liked the ladies hike on the mountain, but I have done that myself in my home province (B.C.) It was amazing. Heli hiking for three days where we were dropped off by helicopter on the top of a mountain in the morning, spent the morning hiking, then picked up at noon and taken to another mountain in the afternoon. It was an amazing three days, and was to include lunch on a glacier but that day it was too windy for the helicopter to land on the glacier. I also didn't like the last night of entertainment with the vikings. (Were they the only women there?). Mostly because it reminded me of the two times I have been dragged to the Tournament of Kings show/dinner in Las Vegas which I absolutely hated. Had to go both times as it was the choice of the person(s) we were there celebrating with (anniversary one time, birthday another). I don't care if it is someone's dying wish, I will never go to another show like that. Lol.

I'm with Dicko - I need a vacation to get over Peggy's vacation. She makes a Debbie Downer look positively euphoric. And as some others have commented, she looked stoned in much of her conversations. One of the few things I have liked about Vicki this season was that she did not defend Peggy. Only because it ticked Peggy off so much. Awe, poor Archie. I am sure he did miss Shannon. Pets do suffer from separation anxiety. I always feel bad when we go away (which isn't often because I miss my furbabies) because our kitties have no idea where we are or how long we will be gone. I loved that Shannon called Archie her best friend (which is obvious) as it seemed to tick David off. I am looking forward to Shannon returning next season with Archie and without David. I have to say, nothing I saw of Iceland made me want to add it to my bucket list. Sorry Iceland.

I think Victor might say he knew (because Victor is never wrong) but I don't think he knows about Zach's use of the dating app as a way to attract johns. The app is funded by Newman, and the Victor's own daughter is co creator. (I think that is what she would be called?). On top of that, why would Victor let a pimp continually boink his daughter? Of any boyfriend or girlfriend that any of his kids has been involved with, Zach is right up there as one of the worst. Makes Billy Boy look like a saint, even before he has become a hero by rescuing Victor's own grandson. Yep, that makes no sense. Hmm, Mariah was raised in a commune, was at one time a scam artist and the guy who raised her in the commune wanted to marry her. But Tessa has no problem being with Noah, the squeaky clean grandson of the most powerful and wealthy man in GC. Maybe in America, the way they portray Victor. Camryn Grimes really deserves an Emmy though for her scenes with Sharon, and Tessa. Too bad that the actor playing Tessa is not up Camryn's level of acting ability, but then few people on Y&R are. I thought she was absolutely riveting.

S12.E17: A Case Of The Vickis
UsernameFatigue replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
Yes, that is what I thought Tamra meant too. But then Vicki very oddly said "You chose Eddie over me!". And Vicki said it as if she meant it literally. So was all the time that Vicki spent trying to cause problems between Tamra and Simon because she wanted Tamra to herself? And then darn Eddie got in the way? Is Vicki really the gay one, and she is trying to put a wedge now between Eddie and Tamra? Hmmmmmm. See how gossip starts, Vicki? -

Hmmm, when they showed the preview of the fire, I thought it was at Lily's house. What did I miss that indicated it was at the Underground? Every time they talk about Zack's history in Chicago it annoys me that we are to believe that Victor's PI was not able to discover that Zack (who apparently didn't even bother to change his name when he came to GC) was a pimp there. Alrightly, then. It is equally annoying that we are to believe that the Newman Abbott princess can do no better than Archie Andrews. And that though he continually treats her like crap, he has only to spew one of his lies, and she deems him once again the perfect boyfriend. Watching them kiss is truly nauseating. Even the actors themselves looked ready to hurl when they were kissing. I have a hard time feeling sorry for Vicki that she may have to dip into her own money to save BS. How much of her 500 million does she still have? Quite a bit, one would think. That she would rather use Devon's money (or really Katherine's) than her own? Too bad, so sad Vick, that you were turned down.

S12.E17: A Case Of The Vickis

OMG, the first half hour of this episode was the funniest I have seen in years. Makes up for the first 16 episodes. I was laughing so hard when Vicki was carried out to the ambulance with her head covered by a robe that I could hardly catch my breath. Then Kelly telling Vicki that she might be having a heart attack just sent me over the edge. I recovered, then returned to fits of giggles when the ladies decided to have dinner instead of visit Vicki, Shannon inquired about the vodka selection, and Meghan ordered a casserole for Vicki. Priceless. When Peggy got in the van and the driver asked if someone else was coming and should he wait, I totally expected Peggy to call Dicko to ask if it was OK for the van to leave. I am not kidding. I also thought when no one could get Peggy to answer her door, that we would find out that Dicko had told her to come home, so she had left. I am very disappointed in Dicko that he didn't. I also expected Lydia to take credit for Vicki's quick recovery, given that she led the group prayer. Oh, and my other fav scene was the phone call Vicki had with Steve, when he told her bringing her dead body home would be no problem. The plane could just drag her along behind it. Got to say, Steve is growing on me. -
I hate two shows back to back - too many deals (or not) to remember. I had no idea who Sara was. When my hubby asked me I said "I don't know who she is, but she is a really bad dresser". I was shocked that she was the inventor of spanx because I thought that not only was her blouse butt ugly, but she looked lumpy and dumpy in it. I was amused at Lori's baby voice as well when she thanked Daymond for handing her a sample. The only thing I have liked about Sacca ever was in the second epi when he did not hand her a sample. Lori seemed to be expecting him to which made it even funnier. Other than that, Sacca was as obnoxious as ever. And of course he had to insult the picture of Mark as a kid which was pretty rich considering Sacca was one of the ugliest children I have ever seen. I hated the book app. Kids should not expect to be entertained by noises/sounds every friggin' waking minute of the day. Not to mention when a parent is reading a kid a book before bed, why would you want to add in a bunch of external sounds when you are trying to quiet them down to go to sleep? Ugh. The lady with the kid activity organizer? I kept waiting for someone to ask her how she got to a 8.3 million dollar valuation with 139 days of sales in one city. No one did. The valuations of many of these products have become so ridiculous that often I find the sharks don't even ask the question. But as a viewer it drives me nuts.
