As someone who never watched 90210 but knows who the actors are from subsequent years (and all the publicity the show got when it was on) I am loving this reboot. I am impressed with both the acting and writing. Also love the sets, and wonder if some of the props have a hidden meaning? In Tori's house where she has the doll house, there is a craft table behind her which makes sense, but also rolls of wrapping paper standing in the corner beside it. I wondered if that was a playful dig at Candy Spelling's infamous gift wrapping room in the Spelling mansion. I also loved that when the group was doing community service, everyone was wearing their safety vests but Tori's was tied under her chest like it was some kind of fashion statement. Love little details like that.

Million Dollar Listing NY - General Discussion

I am a bit confused by Luis's announcement. This seasons started at the time of Fred's children's first birthday which was the end of November. Luis was back in NY then. (Can't remember if he was at the party?). In this episode he says he is going to be the father of a girl. So without knowing when this was actually filmed, if it was along the same time line whomever he got pregnant would already have to be at least a couple months pregnant if she found out sex via a blood test or at least 15 weeks if via ultrasound. So would Luis not be a father now as it is 9 months after the first epi was filmed? His child should be 2-4 months old. If he didn't already know the sex I would not wonder, but since he does the timing is off. Is he, or MDLNY keeping the birth under wraps for the sake of the show? I was hoping that the change in Luis was real - more relaxed and happier. Appears not to be the case, unfortunately. I do like his new look though, much less uptight at least in appearance. -

If Gina's kids aren't allowed to be shown this season, that is the only positive about Gina being on the show. A lot seemed scripted in this episode. As someone upthread said, it seemed like this was the first time that Bronte's hubby had seem the love shack. I am sure that none of us will ever see it again. I also wasn't buying that Shannon had never seen her daughter's dress before. Her date was all decked out in the requisite matching bow tie, and it is doubtful that David was the one who paid for the dress, without any input from Shannon. Kelly and Dr Thirsty just happened to come up with their stupid idea while the cameras were filming them? And I don't get it. Thirsty thinks that teenagers leave their zit care cream at home when they go to the other parent? Wouldn't most kids have that kind of stuff at the home of both parents? Maybe Jolie breaks out at her father's from the stress of knowing that she is returning home to parent Kelly. In any case, dumb idea. -

Not only was Kelly not concerned about her daughter being bullied online, she wants her to be a social media influencer as the face of this stupid idea that she and Dr Thirsty have thought up. What a POS mother Kelly is. -

I know this is an UO, but I thought Shane was the smartest person on this episode. Because he wasn't on this episode. I also thought the "Shane didn't celebrate his parents' birthdays" was just for show. He could have celebrated with them earlier in the day. Emily did nothing other than bring in a chef, which her MIL likely paid for since she is the one with the money. As I recall, Parry quite liked being on camera, so I am sure she was happy to be filmed, Shane or not. Why oh why is GIna still on my screen? Sitting in her bedroom on the floor, with her clothes apparently stored in zebra patterned shopping bags. What a waste of screen time. And my time. I loved Tamra's comment when she heard that Bronte has 7 kids "Why?" "Who would do that to themselves?" My sentiments exactly. And her hubby is as thirsty as Terry Dubrow was. I don't like either one, and their scenes are even more boring than Emily's and Gina's. A pretty low bar as it is. Kelly is despicable - using her daughter to make money with her also thirsty boyfriend. Honestly, the only males I like on this franchise are Archie and Eddie, in that order. -
Ha, so true about education and reasoning power. We all know people, not to mention people we see on these shows, who are book smart but clueless when real life is involved. I don't know if my tv would survive watching such a show - I continually wanted to throw something at my screen when this POS was being interviewed.

Ya, I thought that was pretty funny too. Also his assertion that he was a much better man after his first child with one of his many girlfriends, was born. He continued to sleep with multiple women, got a married coworker pregnant, still lived in his parents' basement and was in debt. What part of that was better? Having one child may have made him a better man (doubtful) but being two weeks away from having a second child made him a murderer. How bizarre that in the first trial all but one voted to acquit, and in the second trial all but one (the smartest guy in the room) voted guilty. And the biggest head scratcher of all - how little self esteem did these women have to think that he is all they deserved? WTH?

I agree that she may have to support herself sometime in the future. There could be a downturn and her hubby could lose his job. She appears to just be an older version of Gina to me - boring, vapid and living in an alternate reality. I have been lucky enough to have been retired since my mid 50s, but I also don't have 7 kids that someone else is looking after. And am not on a reality show where my life should be interesting enough for me to be there in the first place. Bronte reminds me of the howife from a couple of seasons ago who added nothing to the show and was a one-and-done. The best thing about her so far is the nickname Bronte, so if you were the person who came up with it, thank you! -
I loved Episodes! One of my all time fav comedies, actually. Having said that, I loved this first episode. I never actually watched 90210, as I was in my early 30s when it started so wasn't interested. I do however of course know who the cast members are (though have little idea as to how they related to each other on the original show) as they have been in the news over the years. And I did watch a couple of Tori's reality shows. I had no expectation of this show, and ended up finding it hilarious. While I loved Episodes, I thought this show did a good job with the concept, considering it involved 7 different people. And some of the lines had me laughing out loud, like Tori wondering how much bribery money she would need to get 6 kids into university. And her hamming it up during her mug shot picture being taken - lol. Tori has very good comedic timing, and honestly I thought the rest of the cast did well too. I am looking forward to the next epi.

As much as I have never been a Vicki fan, I do admire that she has built a business. I would imagine that her head with explode when she learns that she has been replaced by a woman whose claim to fame is that she is a human incubator. Should she be referred to as a SAHI rather than a SATM? -

I agree with everything you have said regarding Emily's kid that kicked the dog. Other than calling him Shane Jr. From what I remember of last season, Shane was better with the kids than Emily was. Which makes me think they are heading for splitsville, because I think Shane would rather be around the kids than Emily. IIRC, the dog that Gina adopted was not part of the season last year, but was adopted after the season ended? I remember someone posting pics of her and family with the dog, and Gina saying she was overruled on the adoption. I am not on instagram, but I have seen posts of her and with Matt and kids (back when she was still maintaining that they were best friends) all without the dog. I really hope that poor dog found another home. -
It is nice to have this family back, but two hours was an hour too long. I am glad though that all went well with Jenn's surgery. I wonder why Jenn's Dad wasn't in New York with them too? The editing monkeys were at work in this episode. In one of the scenes Jenn and Bill were in the house talking. They showed Bill near the patio doors, and Maggie outside on the deck by the door. Next shot when Jenn answers Bill's question, Maggie is on the back of the couch with Rocky, sleeping. While I think there should be less THs with Will and Zoey, I am still enjoying Zoey in particular as much as I have other years. She is so funny, what a quick wit she has.

I remember years ago, reading a book written by a woman whose mother was a B movie star in the 50s. I can't for the life of me remember which one, but the daughter who wrote the book became a psychologist in her later years. She spent most of the previous years drifting from job to job with little ambition. When she decided to go to university, the California uni she attended gave her an undergrad degree based solely on life experience. I was flabbergasted, and have never forgotten that. -

Good catch. She said she wanted nice things, not to work, and to have 5 kids. So I guess part of her definition of "nice things" are nannies to take care of her kids. I haven't seen anything likeable about her so far. In the shot where the older kids were leaving for school, I guess the twins were taken off camera to have a nanny comb their hair before they were sent off to school. -

Desperate Housewives indeed! Loved your comments! I like Shannon too, but did not enjoy the Cougars Gone Wild routine either. I expect it from Kelly, but not Shannon. Becoming single after a divorce doesn't mean you have to lower yourself to Kelly's level, Shannon. Speaking of Kelly, it never for a minute crossed my mind that Kelly was kidding, thinking that a feral cat was a Pharoah cat. She really is that stupid. Even the producer corrected her, so I don' think she was pretending. Sadly. -

Emily and Shane were both practicing lawyers in Utah before they moved to California. Emily talked about it last season. From what I remember from last year, Shane was working at a law firm in the OC but obviously not in the capacity of a attorney -

I wonder if they will actually show the two nannies at some point? With 7 kids but 3 of them teenagers, and the two 5 year olds one would think in kindergarten, it would seem that two nannies for the two kids aged 1 and 3 means she doesn't have to do much to look after the two youngest. -

I wondered how old she is, so googled her and she is 41. She also has two full time nannies, which might explain that while she has wanted to be a stay at home mom her whole life, she doesn't appear to actually take care of her kids. I don't like her, and don't see that opinion changing much. The baby in the closet wasn't a surprise for me - it isn't like her house is a Dubrow sized mansion. It appears to be a normal sized McMansion, which generally aren't built to house a family of 9. I don't know why Bravo would want to bring on a howife with so many kids that she has almost doubled the amount of kids on the show. I have never minded Shannon's kids or even Jolie as they are older. Little kids add nothing to the show, other than remind me of why I never had kids. -

There was pretty much nothing about that episode that I enjoyed. Emily's kid kicking their dog? I wanted to reach through the TV and kick the kid, and slap Emily. And Kelly wanting to adopt a cat so that she can keep it outside to catch rats? F**k off, Kelly. Does Bravo really think that seeing one animal being abused and another possibly being adopted to then be neglected is entertaining? WTF? The fact that the new howife has seven kids is seven strikes against her, right off the bat. Keep them off my screen, please. If I want to see a gaggle of kids, I would have watched the Duggars (which BTW I have never seen an episode of). Kelly's new boyfriend appears to be on the show just to promote his business. Kelly could have called her(prospective) cat Thirsty after her boyfriend. I think all the kitties in that shelter should be renamed Lucky, since none had to go home with Kelly. I watch the show for Shannon, but I don't know if she will be enough to keep me around this season. Gina and Emily were wastes of space last year, and I don't see any improvement this year so far. -

If I could like this post a thousand times, I would. LVP trying to pass off her rudeness and crassness as British humour is straight up B.S. My grandmother was British, and several of my friends are including two of my best friends are. None of them would act the way LVP does, and they would be totally embarrassed that LVP uses being British as an excuse to hurt people (on purpose, I might add). They would also be embarrassed by her bawniness. The way Lisa acts has nothing to do with being British, and everything to do with that is just the type of person she is. I didn't start watching RHoBH until the season Eileen joined, so I can't comment on how LVP acted with any of the howives on previous seasons. But I do remember that the first season I watched, she and Kyle were on the outs. I kept wondering why Kyle tried so hard to become friends again, when LVP treated her like dog feces on the bottom of her shoe. I never understood why LVP appeared to dislike Eileen so much, and only realized this year that it may have been jealousy over the fact that Eileen has been a successful actor her whole adult life. I did not know that LVP had been a full time acting student from the age of nine, but never really had any success to speak of other than as an actress in commercials. (Which I liken to Charlie Sheen's character in 2 1/2 Men being a jingle writer rather than a serious musician). I won't get into the rest of the howives that have been on LVPs radar, but I totally agree that I would never be friends with her in real life, and if I had to work with someone like that, I would steer as far away as possible. It is obvious why the rest of the ladies get along fine with the dark cloud gone. I would feel the same way. And like you, I am not the least bit jealous of LVP. I am living what for me is my dream life, and honestly do not envy anything about Lisa's life. -
It was in an interview in the Toronto Sun published after the Nanaimo Leg titled "Quitting Attitude: Jon Montgomery Loses His Cool As Amazing Race Hits Nanaimo". It is an interesting article. The producer doesn't come right out and say that Dave and Irina make it must watch tv (as I reread it) but that is what he implies. They talk in the article about staying in Canada this season. I didn't know until I read that article that that was going to be the case, but assumed that if they were going to leave they would have by now. Also usually when it is a non elim leg as last week's was, they are usually out of the country when that happens. (From my limited memory of the show, as I stopped watching the American version years ago).
-
I live in the Okanagan and knew it, from visiting the area several times. I loved that that is where the pit stop was. I read an interview with a producer of the show, and he thinks having Dave and Irina on the show makes it "Must see TV". For me it makes it barely watchable TV. If I didn't like the other teams so much, and the fact that the whole season will be in Canada this year, I would have already stopped watching. I really hope that the other teams are able to work together to get rid of them next episode. I think the producer may have miscalculated what many Canadians opinion on what "Must See TV" is.

S09.E24: Reunion Part 3

It was actually worse than what I remembered, Persnickety1. From the review; "Twice during our visit servers dropped trays. The first literally smashed a huge pile of glass....right next to us, we were showered with liquid and bits of glass! I even had a shard of glass in my hair! Glass was on my handbag too. My silk jumpsuit was stained but as it is dark in colour its not unwearable. Then not 5 minutes later it happened again. Nobody came to ask if we were OK, they left the poor server who was obviously shaken, panickingly cleaning up the mess for a long time on his own before any other staff helped him. I was concerned he had cut himself, but the greeter in the sparkly jacket said he was not concerned about him. Accidents do happen, but it left a very sour note to our visit. Maybe an older more mature staff member or supervisor should be in attendance when the lounge is open, at least they may have had the common decency to apologize to us....at the very least!!". The reviewer also said the lighting was dim, that she is younger than LVP and had a hard time reading the menu. She and her husband did like the food and drinks, but this was a special occasion - they were visiting from Scotland and celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary. However the reviewer did say that she is a fan of the series, and was gracious enough even at the horrible service and non existent apology or even attention of a manager, to give a 4 out of 5. LVP appears to be skating by on her name. BTW, I have no problem talking about her bar since it was part of this past season, and this is a reunion show. -

You missed the point - the fan reviews were often bad (they identified themselves as fans) but they still gave her a 4/5 because they are fans. Lol. I am just leaving for an appointment but I think the review regarding the spilled drinks was a tripadvisor review, but not positive. I just read some yelp ones and they pretty much mirrored the ones I read a few weeks ago. No improvement.
