  1. I don't necessarily believe the killer's story of how he saw their car the morning of the 14th when he was going hunting, since their photographs showed them sight seeing in San Francisco that day, and it appeared that they made their way to fish head beach later in the day. Maybe he saw it on the way back from hunting but I don't believe that he saw it earlier. In other accounts I have read they tried to get a room at a nearby hotel but could not, and were told about the beach. It would not surprise me that it would be a place people would stay especially with the driftwood structure complete with a book for visitors to sign in. What bothered me was the father of the killer, who knew that his son had problems and even tried early on to get him help. He knew that his son was violent and had multiple run ins with the law. But even while his son was in jail for weapons offenses, he did what his son asked and got rid of the murder weapon. Presumably the dad did not know it was used in a murder, but if my son had the history of his son and asked me to get rid of a gun, I would be taking it to the closest police station. His son went on to almost kill someone in 2009, and then eventually kill his own brother several years later. The father's other son would be alive most likely had he done the right thing and not got rid of the gun when his son sitting in jail asked him to. The religious bent to the story didn't bother me. I am not religious, but am glad that the parents were able to get through the horrific loss of their daughter and her fiance with the help of their faith.
  2. I have watched Dateline for many years. Also 20/20, 48 Hours, Forensic Files, Paula Zahn, pretty much every and any true crime show going. Have also posted on these forums for years, going back to TWOP days. Anyone who has watched as many true crime shows as I have would know that murderers often threaten to kill the people who know they have murdered someone. Heck, they even sometimes end up murdering those people as well. Oh, and that there are good cops who actually have done what they said they have done.
  3. I didn't mind the finale, but think the show - and the viewers - deserved an hour long last episode. And though I didn't mind the mother-daughter duo, I think they should have been given less screen time. It was my hubby who pointed out that Shannon was Rose from Two And A Half Men, as I didn't recognize her at first. Then when the character was introduced as Shannon, I said to my hubby that I was a bit disappointed that she wasn't introduced as Rose. Hubby pointed out that she couldn't be Rose, as she wasn't wearing flowered clothing. Rose always wore some type of flowered clothing, often a sweater, in 2 1/2 Men. Even when the actress guested this year on Young Sheldon as one of Sheldon's professors, she wore flowered clothing in one scene. I don't know if it was intentional, but I choose to believe that it was. I loved that the show evolved to revolve around the women, and Adam as Bonnie's husband. I never missed Christy's kids/ex when they were written out, and haven't missed Christy since she left. I am going to miss this bunch of characters. And Marjorie's cats.
  4. I really love Amanda on this show. When she was talking about being a single mom and not having her partner to pat her on the back and tell her she is doing a good job, I actually teared up a bit. I know she is lucky to have so much help, but being a widow with a young child is difficult, and she faces it with grace. It must be so heartbreaking for her knowing that if her husband had contracted Covid a year later than he did, he likely would have been vaccinated and had few if any symptoms and still be with her and Elvis. It was funny when they went to commercial the first couple of times Jerry left his seat to sit in front of Elaine's screen, I guess to visit with her. He really is a sweet man.
  5. Thank you Jesus. Or Justin. What a lovely surprise. He is not only hot, but seems like a really nice man to boot. And I think he and Jerry are a good combination of male co hosts.
  6. I have no idea who Jay Pharoah is, but I assume he is some kind of stand up comedian, as he seems to have mistaken his gig as a guest host as s gig at a comedy club. Jerry is able to be funny while taking part in a conversation with the rest of the co hosts. Jay is annoying AF. I only made it 17 minutes in to Tuesday's show and had to shut off the episode. Not sure if I will watch the rest of the week if AAF is there for the duration.
  7. Bo was given immunity because he could have been charged with withholding evidence by not telling the police in 2010 what he knew. He withheld that info because his mother asked him to. He told police 6 months after his mother died. Bo never had to testify because Michael and his lawyer approached the prosecution for a deal. It wasn't until Michael was in court at his plea hearing that he implicated Bo. He had plenty of time before hand to say that his brother was the actual killer. He didn't. He said he agreed to pay Bo $100,000. The police found no evidence that Bo had anything to do with it, including I would guess Bo becoming $100,000 richer. Michael told Bo on the bridge "I f**ked her up, and if you tell anyone I will f**k you up too". Sounds exactly like I would expect a cold blooded killer to talk to someone that he has just confessed to. I don't watch cartoons (didn't even as a child) so have no idea if Scooby Doo would have made the same threat.
  8. I continue to tune in for Jerry, as he always manages to crack me up. I loved his comment today about his wife having been married to someone with the initials John Stamos. Lol. I also enjoy his stories about his kids. I think the panel lacks depth with three out of four permanent cohosts not having kids. Amanda has Elvis who is cute, but toddlers aren't that interesting. Though I did love that he had no interest in Gail King and the muppets on the Mother's Day show.
  9. The police investigated Bo as far as I remember the first time and he had a solid alibi. They also investigated him after Michael pleaded guilty but then said Bo did it, and found no evidence what-so-ever to link him to the murder. Lots of people think that certain family members are creepy, but it doesn't make the family members killers. Both the police and Renee's friends knew that Michael killed Renee, Even Renee herself told her friend's mother that if anything happened to her, Michael did it. Heck, Michael did not make it a secret that he hated Renee, and he wrote pages to the effect and hid them. His phrasing that she was a problem (to paraphrase) to be eliminated was similar to what he told Bo on the bridge when he threw the knife off it - that that is how he finalized his divorce. In the end, Bo is the one who broke the case open. He contacted Renee's friend, and ultimately told police that Michael confessed to him. The police would not have any proof if not for Bo, so why would he take the chance that his involvement would be uncovered when the case remained unsolved all those years? I do wonder if the other two kids have anything to do with Father Of the Year? His daughter said herself that they moved constantly, and it was hard for her to make friends because of moving, and because her father was the only suspect in the murder. He got what he wanted -sole custody of the kids, and no ex to deal with. The kids got a motherless childhood/adulthood.
  10. I have no problem believing that Michael was the murderer, not Bo. If Michael was going to have his brother murder his ex, why would he not give himself an alibi that included his mother and kids awake and interacting with him. rather than have the murder happen when everyone is sleeping? Even his mother said that she heard the door opening and closing, and thought the dog was being let out an in. But she had no idea if Michael was there the whole time or not. Nor did the kids. How many times have we seen a person hire someone else to murder a spouse, etc.? Lots, And the person doing the hiring pretty much always has an airtight alibi. How To Have Someone Else Kill Your Spouse 101. It sounds like Bo only waited the length of time he did because he promised his mother than he would not tell until after she had passed. But if he killed Renee, why would he lead police to where the murder weapon was? And bring it up at all, knowing that his brother would not take the wrap alone for something he did? I think the right killer is right where he should be. Too bad the original investigators hadn't noticed the matching flashlights, among other things. Bo may not have liked Renee, and not wanted his brother to marry her, but I don't think he would have any reason to stab her 50 times. Michael did, because his gravy train was coming to an end, and he was not getting what he wanted out of the divorce in the form of the family home, child support and alimony.
  11. Amanda's story was one of the sweetest I have ever heard, and Justin's connection to it made it even that much better. I have thoroughly enjoyed the week so far, though I don't always watch the guests (which is normal for me anyway). Jerry has made me laugh out loud at least once an episode. His comment today about his neighbours worrying that he and his wife aren't having sex was hilarious. I am enjoying the male perspective, even when it is wrong. When Justin said that the teacher may have been trying to protect the student by her comment? Ummm, no. As someone who developed large breasts by the age of 13, I have spent a life time trying to find clothes that fit. You cannot help the body you are born with, and that young lady was totally appropriate in her attire. And speaking of attire, WTH was Elaine wearing? If she has someone helping her choose wardrobe on the show, they must not like her. She looked like a Guernsey cow today.
  12. I also remember Sonja and Ramona (and Dorinda) without makeup, but couldn't remember Lu. I don't know if I have seen any howife before Leah that I would have a hard time recognizing without make up. They tabloids could put her on the front page of their editions of stars without makeup. Though in Leah's case likely most would not know who she was, even with makeup.
  13. Leah looked even more masculine than Luann sometimes can, in that scene. Mind you I don't know if we have ever seen Lu sans makeup? But honestly, Leah looked like one of those people who goes on makeover shows, and are totally unrecognizable afterwards. She really is fugly, both inside and out.
  14. There were lots of articles about her financial troubles when she was on the show, it was just never mentioned on the show as they preferred to market her as an rich business woman. She declared personal bankruptcy in 2015, and her Hampton house was in foreclosure. She owed more on the house in 2015, than the mortgage that she took out on it in 2006 (for 2.4 million) originally was for. Sounds like she was using equity in the house to finance her lifestyle? Anyhoo if you google her name and RHoNY, there are articles about her financial troubles. Even now her net worth is pegged by some sites as $800,000 which is pretty paltry, certainly for NYC.
  15. Like others, I was annoyed at Leah right out of the gate. Her conversion to Judaism does not seem sincere, but rather for a story line. I loved her dad's reaction. And his refusal to forgive Leah for her past behavior, just because she has asked for it. Leah is always looking for the easy way out without actually doing any of the heavy lifting. Not impressed with the new addition so far. She reminds me of Barb the Builder, who supposedly was very successful but actually wasn't. Not that money is everything, but I watch these shows for house porn among other things, not one bedroom apartments. I guess the fact that she admitted her financial problems right away is something, but not what I was hoping for in a new howife. And an actual wife might be a nice change. Why were Ebony and her friend sitting on her bed to visit? Does she not possess a couch at least? Did Lu actually buy her apartment? She never actually said that she did -or if she did I missed it. She said that as soon as she saw it that she said she would take it, which to me could just as easily mean she rented it. And would you buy a place that you have apparently not spent enough time in to know that you use to live within viewing distance of it? I am glad that Sonja is back in the townhouse, if for no other reason than to not have to see her filming in the shoebox. And I have always liked her townhouse, even if it is not in great shape. At least it doesn't make me claustrophobic.
  16. I watched the episode today, and paused half way through as Kelly's performance in the interrogation room was so OTT that I had to come here to read others' comments. There really should be a version of the Razzies for Worst Interrogation Performance. Tucker's (AKA a bunch of other names) was right up there as well. Though I enjoyed her performance as she left the courtroom more. Claiming she was going to pass out, then screaming as she is lead down the hallway? Yes, almost fainting is often followed by screaming. Not. I also loved Kelly explaining why Tucker had to hold the gun, because Kelly is half blind. Funny, I never saw Kelly in glasses once. And if it was because she wore contacts, wouldn't she be wearing them when a notary comes for papers to be signed? Also claiming that she did not understand what the form was that she ripped up. Isn't she a former lawyer? And why did she think she was signing a will? If it was her own will it would not have been a surprise, something that she would sign without making her wishes known. If it was her mother's will, she would have no reason to sign it. How sad that Shane had asked for someone to come out to the ranch as he feared there could be trouble, and he ends up dead. And that as he is dying, his sister and niece are upset that he is not yet dead. I can't believe that Tucker got only 6 years. And that Kelly if free as a bird to inherit all of her mother's property. Pathetic.
  17. Presumably TPTB are looking for someone to replace Sharon, since Carrie Ann is supposed to return at some point? Though personally I don't think she will. To me they have to look at not only being diverse with regards to race, but with regards to the lifestyle of the person themselves. Currently the cast of 4 includes three women who do not have children. If they were to add someone like, say Rumer Willis, that would be 4 out of 5 cast members. And only one who is married, since only Eve in the current cast make up is married. One would think that a show called the talk would want people with diverse lives to represent a diverse audience? I find Rumer to be dull as dishwater. I don't care about her famous parents, and do not think she adds much to the show. I actually think Amanda adds more, and has an interesting (albeit sad) background. I also have found that she will go against the grain with her opinion, more than some of the others will. She just manages to say it in a sweet way. I would like to see someone who is a bit more forceful but that can still exude warmth. I find Eve, while obviously smart, to be a cold fish. I was going to delete the show from my PVR as most of the guest hosts they have had I do not know and am not interested in. I did like Jerry O'Connell the day he guested, so will tape next week to see if that opinion remains.
  18. I can't access the youtube video, but as I said was surprised that it took so long for Sheryl to say anything other than she hoped Carrie Ann returned soon. The magazine (online version) where I saw the picture of Carrie Ann's IG post was Hello, which has a Hello Canada version. Looks like they are continuing to follow CA's posts so will have to google them more often. And as requested rmcrae:
  19. Guess I should have read the whole article about Sharon's cat going missing. Kitty is home safe and sound. Yay! I loved the pic of the kitty in the article, and that she was sitting on a kitchen counter. Our kitties sit wherever they want too, and I love like minded pet parents.
  20. I think this was posted a few days earlier? As I said, I had no idea that Carrie Ann and Sheryl didn't get along (and who knows if it is true?). But I have watched at least the first couple of segments per show since it returned, and was surprised that Sheryl's only comment has been the she/they hope Carrie Ann is back soon. I thought they were friends, and if my friend was suffering from the illnesses Carrie Ann does, I would be adding "We love you and miss you Carrie Ann." I did not know that Sharon's cat is missing. As a fellow animal lover, I hope the fur baby is OK and makes it back home. I am not a Sharon fan, but love her dog Elvis and miss seeing him on the show. The magazine where I saw the IG comments online was I think Hello magazine. They printed the IG post that Carrie Ann had made. It was a pic of the flowers that Sharon had sent to Carrie Ann on her first (and it turns out last I think) day back on the 12th. And a reply by Carrie Ann that she was thinking of Sharon. I think it was the same mag that had an IG post from Amanda that was a pic of her son (who looks soooo much like her late husband) and Sharon had commented on it with Amanda replying. Neither Brigitte or Rumer joining would bring me back, but in all honesty if Carrie Ann doesn't return it likely doesn't matter. Also I am Canadian and over the 54 higher age limit target audience, so my viewing matters not one way or another.
  21. The reports that Carrie Ann and Sheryl do not get along doesn't surprise me. Sheryl has been very "cold" in her "hurry back" comments regarding Carrie Ann, and it took her until a day or two ago to actually say "We miss you". I am not on Instagram, but a couple of magazines have reported that Carrie Ann is supportive of Sharon on IG, and Amanda and Sharon also comment on each others' accounts. I wonder why the women who have often guest hosted - Brigitte and Rumer - are nowhere to be found? Do they sense the ship is sinking and do not want to be a part of it? I thought, at least for the part I watched, that Jerry O'Connell was fine., The Talk needs to do something like bring on a male co host, as I don't see them rising from the basement without doing something that no other show does. That said, I am not a long time viewer, and only started watching when Marie came on. I tried a few other times but just didn't gel with the different combos they have had on. I kept watching after Marie left as I like Amanda, and like Carrie Ann. But I doubt very much that Carrie Ann will return, so it is likely curtains for me as well.
  22. Dani's story was full of holes. Why was she sleeping on the couch when there was a back bedroom? Why did she use the ensuite bathroom where Ray, the abuser, was. Why would she not use the main bathroom and avoid Ray? And of course her reenactment was laughable. Her comment to the cops that they could look anywhere except in the tool box - which was emitting the foul odour - was pretty funny, dead Ray inside aside. So many of these murderers remind me of characters in Coen Brothers movies, and that direction was right up there. I have forgotten why the letter carrier was in disguise? Odd though that she was the only person who ever saw black eyes (and several according to her) on Dani. Dani and Ray seemed to have a pretty active social life, so not buying the letter carrier's story. As an animal lover, I kept waiting for them to say that Ray's dog was fine. The fact that he was not found is terrible. Dani is a monster.
  23. Regarding the body decomposing to bones in just six weeks, I wondered that myself. When I googled I found that bodies can decompose in as little as 3 weeks, depending on weather, heat, humidity, etc. So I guess since Taylor died in Florida in early September, heat and humidity would both play a factor. Which reminds me of another not-to-do thing to add to the list: do not leave one-of-a-kind jewelry on the person you have murdered. Taylor's bullet necklace pretty much pointed to the body being hers right away, though of course they would still confirm it with DNA. But way to wave a red flag, Ashley. I kept thinking that Shailene Woodley would make a great Ashley......
  24. The puzzle lady's idea was not unusual, and I thought the puzzles were ugly. I just started doing puzzles a year or so ago, and often buy two brands here in Canada that are both by Canadian artists. One brand is called StandOut puzzles which come in a cannister and are gorgeous (and all but one of the artists are women) and the other is called Indigenous Art which are First Nations artists, also gorgeous puzzles. They are $20-$30 ea Cdn. Three cats here, which is why I also never did puzzles until I saw a StandOut puzzle of a Spirit Bear and just had to do it. I put the puzzle together on a puzzle mat which keeps the pieces in place. I use puzzle trays to sort the pieces, and also keeps the pieces stacked in the trays when I am not doing the puzzle. Finally I cover the puzzle and trays with a plastic sheet when I am not doing the puzzle to keep everything safe from the cats. They do at times come around to check things out but the mat and trays keep them from carrying off or batting pieces off the table. I also keep a couple of boxes on the table that they like to lie in when I at the table working on the puzzle. The Scrubbie logo font is virtually identical to the Scrub Daddy logo. I would not be surprised if Scrubbie is sued and made to change their logo. Assuming they are still in business by the time that may happen. The flashlight was not unusual at all. We have solar lanterns that we use at our cottage as bedside lamps in the bedroom. They have two light strengths, plus a flashing SOS light. We can recharge by solar or electricity, and they have a cell phone charger. Also a light that tells us how much power is left before we have to recharge. They are also waterproof. It seems like many of these businesses expect the sharks to jump at their product because they have a charitable aspect to their business. But if your business doesn't make money, the charity isn't going to benefit either. Nor will the shark.
  25. The defense lawyers were hilarious! I was waiting for them to explain how Taylor just happened to end up dead at the edge of Ashely's aunt's property. What are the odds of that? Better odds winning a lottery. As others have said, it mind boggling that Ashley worked at CSI, but made pretty much every mistake in the book. She could be the poster killer for what-not-to-do if you want to murder someone and not get caught. Don't murder someone and leave them at a relative's property. Don't first call your relative who lives on the property to make sure he won't be there. Don't lie about where you were to the police. Don't keep your cell phone on so your movements can be traced. Ditto with the cell phone of the person you are murdering. Don't tell cops that your friend called an Uber when it can be proven she didn't. Don't buy products to bury said friend from a store that will have you on video purchasing those products. Geez, is there anything Ashley missed on the what-not-to-do list?
