Ha! I definitely know people who wish they had never had children. I think since I never have, they feel comfortable telling me. Some of my relatives would be shocked to know what I know! As far as men and kids being a huge undertaking for women, believe me I know a few men whose wives/significant others have been a huge undertaking. My hubby's ex, for one. He has always been more of a mother to his kids (and great dad) than she has. I always say that they should teach a course in high school about being careful about the decisions you make, especially who you decide to have children with! You could be stuck with dealing with them for many years, even after the kids are grown! -
Million Dollar Listing NY - General Discussion

The funny thing is that colours and materials are cyclical, so chances are when you go to sell your house it will be back in style. Colour certainly has more personality that the current trend of white on white on white. Though I have noticed that some colour is finally creeping back in. My brother in law is building a house, and everything they have picked out is either grey or white. By the time they actually move in, I think that combination will be out of style. In any case I would never pick it, it would totally depress me to live in such a sterile looking home. I loved that Rye house, and wish they would show more houses. I get bored with the condos in New York which, after awhile, all look alike. I thought the house was gorgeous, and the grounds were stunning. We moved into our home 16 years ago, and I love it as much today as the day we moved in. I have no intention of changing the flooring or countertops to make them current. The cabinets are a rich cherry, and the coutner tops dark granite. It is what we like and have no intention of changing it. I always joke that by the time we decide to sell, everything will be back in style again anyway. I have not watched this week's show as yet, but I was totally ticked off at the last episode with Derek driving like an idiot. He seems to have gotten more immature since he moved to L.A. -

Lol. When hubby and I married, he was 48 and I was 46. Neither of us had ever been married before, though he has two kids from a previous relationship. There are many reasons why someone doesn't marry, or marries later in life. Personally I never wanted kids, so never had that need to find someone to procreate with. I will admit that even in my teens and 20s I knew I wasn't interested in getting married, and/or having kids. It was an unusual stance at that time (especially for a woman - at least to admit it) and many people thought it was there business to tell me I would regret my decision. Heck, maybe they even thought there was a big fat secret somewhere. Lol. I've never regretted my decision not to have kids, or get married later in life. I have lived my life exactly as I have wanted, every step of the way. Hubby and I have been happily married now for 17 years. I know several people who have gotten married for the first time in their 40s or 50s. It isn't a big deal, other than usually to some people who think it is there business why that is, when it isn't. Chris could very well be someone who was never interested in having kids, or marrying previously. As I used to tell people who couldn't understand why I wasn't married, anyone can get married if they set their standards low enough. It isn't a big accomplishment. I like Zach and Tori, but do not understand why they announced their pregnancy so early. Especially to Jackson. It has already been revealed on here that she lost that baby, so what do they tell a young child, that there is no longer a baby in mommy's tummy? I also don't understand why, when they already have two kids who have medical issues, they want to roll the dice with another pregnancy? -
I found this episode amusing in that both Leah and Eboni are so unaware of how ridiculous they sound. Leah once again claims that Ramona has an amazing talent of finding a way to be annoying in every situation. Says the person who is annoying in pretty much every situation. I had to laugh at Leah who is insulted that anyone thinks that getting a tattoo is defacing their body, but says she never gets tattoos on her left hand as she doesn't want to take away from the wedding ring she hopes to wear on it some day. Lol. But don't tattoos add, not take away, Leah? And Leah, I think you are likely safe to tat up your left hand. Cover it, in fact. Then we have Eboni, who claims that the others (sans Leah of course) are "white women living in an affluent, elite bubble". Says the person who cannot go on a trip without a hair/make person in tow. Same with Leah. What idiots. Then we have Bershan, continually calling Sonja a clown. Bershan, the person whose make up gun is set to "clown". Ramona defecating on the floor of her bathroom didn't bother me a lot, as she obviously didn't know it. And appears that she went back in to clean it up, Not sure how that would happen but Ramona does seem to have some issues in that department. What bothered me was Sonja, knowing it was on the bottom of her boots, but continuing to walk around on the carpeted floors. Ewww. And yuck. I hope these hotels do a thorough cleaning of rooms, including carpet shampooing, after the howives leave. The howives have been on enough trips that anyone hosting them should be forewarned by production.

Yes, I have seen and heard rumors here and elsewhere since Jerry's stint in May, but now that several sources are reporting that he is joining I think it is likely a done deal, which is fine with me. I do want Carrie Ann to return though as I like her sweetness. I would be fine with 4 hosts though - they could lose either Elaine, or preferably Sheryl. Though I don't think that will happen. Edited to add that I just watched the clip from Jerry's talk with Wendy Williams, and I think he was very diplomatic about how he handled the questions. I think it likely points even more to the likelihood that he is joining the show. 🙂
-
I doubt that he could say anything until it is announced. And if he didn't enjoy his time there before, why would he bother to come back now? I can't access the link above as I am in Canada, but I googled Jerry and The Talk, and the story has been posted on several different sites in the last several hours.
-
You are being kind - Elaine seemed to be using that cup as a pacifier! Sheesh. Did she ever put it down? So annoying! I have missed Jerry. I love that right off the bat with the Richard Branson story he said "Who cares?". My thoughts exactly. I enjoyed all of his input as I usually do. I thought Akbar was out to lunch when he said that shaming is misdirected encouragement. That is flat out bullshit. That person was not shaming Valerie to be encouraging but to be out and out mean. This is the one reason that I don't like (some) male co hosts, because they have no idea what women deal with, with the ups and downs of weight loss. Men lose weight basically on a straight line, women do not. It is also the reason I like Jerry, not only because he has been overweight which many women have struggled with, but because I find him to be as in tune with his emotions as many women are. I missed Amanda too.

I have kept The Talk on my PVR, but haven't watched an entire show (and for the most part haven't made it past the first few minutes, if even that) all of June. Now that Jerry is back I will tune in again at least for the first part. Love Martin Henderson so will watch today's show. I had read that May's ratings had increased a bit with Jerry guest hosting, but am not surprised that they have dropped in June. That was just a mess of too many hosts, and Elaine off half the time it seemed or if she was there, not in person. I am shocked that it got renewed to be honest. I wonder how much longer the show will hold a spot for Carrie Ann? It seems like she is in a good place again so not sure why she isn't returning if that is her intention? The show desperately needs more stability, and two co hosts holding down the fort are not enough.

When I posted earlier, I still had three episodes to watch. I have now finished the season, and like you I hope there is a season 4. Like some others here, I do think there are a lot (most?) of unbelievable story lines, but it is basically a soap opera so I don't expect a lot. I enjoy most of the characters, and many of the actors. My hope would be that there is no Hope in season 4, and that Doc ends up with Muriel down the road.
-
As someone who has had a crush on Tim Matheson for many years, I have loved how much Doc has been front and center this season. TM is gorgeous at any age. I haven't missed Hope at all, as I find her annoying. I read an interview where the creator/writer of the series said she wanted to explore more of Lizzie and Ricky this season. Apparently they don't play a big part in the books? (Don't know, haven't read them). I find both actors to be very weak, and I could not care less about the characters, or their relationship. I think they have done a good job with Lilly's storyline. I like the actor who plays Lilly, and enjoyed her when she was a regular on the Canadian series Republic of Doyle several years ago. Have we seen Jack's sister Brie before? And what is up with the cheese related names? Did their parents have a thing for cheese? I am not warming up to Brie, but have also never warmed up to Mel. As someone who lives in B.C., and started watching the series for the gorgeous scenery, all those tea lights burning made me nervous. We have a cabin at a lake and would never in a million years have dozens of tea lights all around a forested area. We have solar powered lights outside, that is it. We currently have so many forest fires, that that scene made me nervous just watching it!

I thought the evidence was pretty common in these types of murders. Couple has money problems. Check. Wife wants to divorce controlling husband. Check. Husband takes out life insurance policy on wife before she turns up dead. Check. I would assume he wanted the step son out the way because he did not want to raise him after he killed his wife. Making him look like the murderer was a bonus I guess. One thing I found interesting is that in the Dateline show, they said that the gun was tested and only the dead son's fingerprints were found on it. I thought that was odd, because both the father and the adopted brother also used the guns, so what are the chances that only the dead son's fingerprints would be found on the gun? Unless of course the gun was wiped clean and then placed in the dead son's hands. I did read on another site though that the gun was tested and no fingerprints were found on the gun. So of course if that was true the dead son could not have been the murderer. Also as far as the rag in Jason's truck goes, the blood would not have stayed bright red had it been from a cut that happened two months before. The defense attorney was really reaching there. Jackson and Remington were pretty forgiving of their paternal grandmother, when she took the $100,000 life insurance money and didn't give any of it to them. Also don't understand why she didn't sell the $200,000 house rather than lose it for unpaid taxes. In any case Jason was a POS for not having the children on the policy. I guess he thought that his mother should get the money in case he needed it for his defense should he be charged with murder?

I gave Kathy Hilton a pass until this episode. Not sure if she is being a shit stirrer to keep her job, or because she really just thinks it is fun. Not only did she say "Tomasina", but when she didn't get the reaction she wanted she followed it with "Tommy". Sutton handled it quite well by saying "Are we going to lead with that? That's fun" or something similar. When she wanted to leave the others should have let her, but of course if that happened we would not have this year's puppy gate. I have two friends with anxiety disorder, so I applaud Sutton for being part of the show, as from what my friends have told me the disorder is a constant struggle. As I said before, I could be friends with Sutton in a heart beat.
-
My problem with Crystal is that she claims to have/have had bulimia which is a mental disorder. She herself had a melt down when she refused to come to dinner at Lake Tahoe. And again when she told the ladies about her disease. None of them made fun of her, called her names, or reacted with bitch-faced smirks. Including Sutton. So STFU Crystal, and maybe clue into the fact that you are no saner, heathier, or better than Sutton. I also agree with posters who have said that Crystal has nothing to be jealous of. She is a cold mother, who makes Dorito, with her multiple (not sure about now) nannies, look like Mother of the Year. She married her wealth, and her hubby is someone most have never heard of. She has zero personality, and as far as I can see no redeeming qualities. I'd be friends with Sutton in a minute. Crystal? Nope, not unless she is hiding a personality and warmth under those ugly assed pants.

Loved seeing so much of Harry Hamlin this episode. Always have loved Harry, always will. He also reminds me of my husband who is a very nurturing person (much more than I am), and a great cook. Kathy's clueless act is wearing thin. She called Sutton Thomasina, knowing full well the reaction she would get. I was not impressed. Also pretending not to know what hunky dory meant? It was one thing to say it at Lisa's, but to carry it over to her TH? Sorry Kathy, you are not that good of an actor. OTOH her house is the type of house porn that I expect from HW shows, and pretty much never see anymore. At least in the franchises I watch. I didn't understand Crystal's comment that the difference between her and her husband age wise was the exception. Isn't that the rule in BH? Also not sure why Sutton would be jealous of Crystal? I have yet to see anything to do with Crystal that should make anyone jealous.

S13.E09: The Salem B.... Trials

At this point, I am only watching because for me, Leah has gone from being supremely annoying, to just hilarious. She has to be the most unaware howife, in terms of how she comes across, of any howife I have ever watched. And that it a really high bar to clear. Leah constantly puts down the other women in her talking heads, like they are so embarrassing in their antics. Meanwhile Leah is constantly flying off the handle, and crying fake tears, in every episode. Drunk or sober, makes no difference. Looks like fake tears make a reappearance next episode. She is more embarrassing that the rest of the the women combined. Leah is also totally clueless about how she looks when she continually puts down the others for their wealth, but hires someone to get her kid into a preferred high school, and brings a glam squad on the trip. Save your money, honey. It doesn't help your appearance when you are so ugly on the inside. The only positive thing I can say about Leah is that she managed to make Eboni squirm, that someone who is not the sharpest stick in the forest was trying in her own clueless way to support Eboni. And for all of Eboni's accomplishments, she manages quite often to come out with the wrong word or saying. This episode it was someone throwing someone else on the bus, as opposed to under the bus. Lol. I love that at the end of the lecture episode, only Leah, Eboni and Bershan were sitting at the table. And I am pretty sure Bershan wanted to leave too. -

That may be the funniest line I have read on SM all year. Priceless! If the Howives were able to meet for lunches, dinners, parties and trips during this time, why would Portia not be able to have 'play dates' with a bubble of friends? And even when my great nieces and nephews Portia's age were not able to attend school, they were still in contact with their friends constantly, playing online games with them. Another friend's child, also Portia's age,, prefers online learning and would rather not go back to class in the fall. Mind you he doesn't need his mother to feed him or put on his socks, so he is more independent than Portiatina. -

Yet, as far as I have seen Kyle's other daughters are not overacting brats. I think Portia's behavior is a combination of her personality, and being extremely spoiled by her parents because she is the youngest (by several years) and the last. Portia has always been obnoxious. I remember a scene from when she was about 10 years old. IIRC Kyle had to bring her breakfast up to her because she would not come downstairs to eat. Then Kyle carried her out of the bedroom. Tiny Kyle carrying 10 year old Portia was a ridiculous sight. -

I like Kyle's other daughters, but have never been able to stomach Portia. There is a reason why we only saw Kyle take Portia on the rounds a couple of times when she decided she wanted to act. The kid is obnoxious and totally overacts. Speaking of kids, I thought it was odd that Crystal said that her 5 year old daughter calls for her to come after she has "gone potty". First of all, it seems like a term that should have been discontinued after the kid was potty trained, presumably a couple of years earlier. And why does a 5 year old need help? Would she expect a teacher to help her kid if the kid was in school? Strange. Also, did anyone else think that Crystal has much more chemistry with her kick box instructor than she does her husband? -

Leah herself tells us that she isn't as hip, cool and "woke" as she pretends to be. By her actions and her words. Every. Single. Episode. -

Twenty minutes into the episode, I was sure it was half over. Another twenty minutes later, looked at my watch and five minutes had passed. The rest of the episode dragged on too. Ugh. I did have to laugh at Eboni using Eboni K. Williams in the literature regarding her dinner. How pretentious. Can this woman ever be just with friends and not act like she is on assignment? But then again, maybe she was. I love that Besharn spoke up and gave her opinion at the dinner, even if it did tick Ebony off. Could Besharn have been saying that she doesn't see colour? Hmmmm..... Leah always manages to say something (often many things) per episode that has me shaking my head. This time is was that the other women really don't know how offensive they are sometimes. Pot. Kettle. Black. And her talk with Ebony when she called her everything except articulate was pretty funny. I didn't get why Leah doesn't want her daughter to go to a public school? And why she needed someone else to be involved? In any case, too much Leah once again. Why do TPTB insist on shoving her down our throats? Gag. -
S11.E06: The Liberation of Erika Jayne
UsernameFatigue replied to jewel21's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I think it is quite common in big houses to have more bathrooms than bedrooms, as often each bedroom has its own bathroom, then there are a couple at least on floors with no bedrooms. I think for that size house, something like 8 or 9 bedrooms and over a dozen bathrooms would be common. So the bathroom number didn't surprise me, but the number of bedrooms did! Now that I am typing this though, maybe Erika changed a few bedrooms into closets, so there are only 4 rooms actually made up as bedrooms?
