ESPN showed a picture of the Mets jerseys taken for this weekend's promotion. Four of them belonged to players that wound up getting traded, and nine belong to guys on the DL. The 2017 Mets, everybody!!!
  2. I flip between this and SNL. I think Maijin Buu can stand as a Big Bad because he's so creepy. I referred to him in the DBS thread as "Benny from L.A. Law," and I gotta stick with that. I mean, he's cute, but then he has no qualms about killing everybody, because he doesn't have a moral center beyond the pale Namekian scrotum called Babidi. I know, Namekians are asexual, but look at the wrinkles and short hairs. Tell me differently. Heads up: the "season" will be rerun next Saturday, in case you missed an episode.
  3. I only got 2-3 volumes into Preacher. From what I remember, the deal with Jesus was that his followers drugged him to fake his death, he wound up having a few kids, and he died in a freak falafel cart accident. Was there any more to the story of the "preservation" of the bloodline? ETA: Here is a shot the original messiah from the comics. I'm okay with the inbred adult on AMC, because we need a few seconds of Jesse going, "Holy moley, this is real!!" And fucking with people's expectations is a large part of Preacher.
  4. Not into the Bible. Just needed an excuse to post this bit from Robot Chicken: The 33-Year-Old Virgin. It's not really work-safe, though the narrator should be recognizable. Heading the the "Gospel" thread now to debate whether the show deviated that much from canon.
  5. Heads up for those with Facebook: Honest Trailers put out something for Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. It's not on the Screen Junkies site, though. Very complimenting stuff. " . . . Brotherhood fixes all the problems that the original series had. Like, straying away from the original manga. Annnnnnnnnd that's it. That's literally all they needed to fix." Here's a link, though I don't know if non-FB users will see it. ETA: I clicked the link without logging in. I could see the video, so it's accessible for everyone.
  6. It's official: Kelsey & Joey are far more than co-anchors with benefits.
  7. The commercial includes the scene from this (uncensored) animatic. So awesome.
  8. Benefit of being Facebook friends with Judd: finding out about his 15th anniversary with Pam and seeing a truckload of pictures from the wedding. I know that they weren't a thing back in RW3 (Judd dated, Pam had the boyfriend), but they would be at the top in terms of all-time RW couples, right?
  9. SBP "reports" on Johnny's message. Once again, this isn't official, even if Johnny can take the pulse better than most people, but it doesn't look good.
  10. What is the etiquette if somebody likes my profile but doesn't message me? A lady near me likes me, we are an 83 percent match, but she has a daughter. It's not that I hate kids, but I don't know if I would be "worthy" to see her because I can barely "adult" as it is. She has one child . . . she doesn't need a second one that might want to kiss her a lot.
  11. This week: Avdol vs. Jean Pierre Polnareff, master of the Silver Chariot Stand. Lots of posturing, posing, collateral damage, and Polnareff getting saved from certain death twice. Since he's in both sets of credits, he's got a flesh bud in his hair. One visit from Dr. Jotaro later (and lots of being squicked from Oldjo), and the gang has a new ally. He has a vested interest: Dio might be employing the Stand user that murdered his sister. Apparently, the mystery person has two right hands, because why not? I don't know how that would even work, but this is not the anime for that. Bad news: DBZK marathon next week. Understandable, and I can wait, but I saw this on the Toonami Tumblr, and I want to know the context.
  12. Heads up: next weekend's lineup is a DBZ Kai marathon because it's close to Labor Day. Double heel turns and a villain with an IQ in the mid-double digits!!

I don't know. David Wright would have been buried under third base years ago if that was the Mets' policy. Flipped to the Yankees' game. Those unis? No. Not for me. If traditionalists bitch about the storied Bronx Bombers looking like a slo-pitch softball team, I would not blame them.
  14. Funny115: Mario focuses on Tyrone from Nicaragua. Who? Exactly, but he had great reactions. Sadly, he only lasted five episodes, so I forgot him through the wall of utter suck of that season.

To channel Xander Crews in Frisky Dingo: "God. Dammit." Actually, I'm pretty much detached at this point . . . and upon saying that, I would bet on a Met to suffer a detached retina. The team has to make moves in the offseason, and that includes bringing every available holy man to cleanse Citi Field.
  16. Heads up before I forget: the episode airs on MTV at 10 p.m. Eastern time. Please make a note of it.
  17. Clicked a profile from what I assumed was a 31-year-old woman. Imagine my surprise. "I am a very femenine sissy boy I love crossdressing and being a servant slut to my man" Does OKC know something about me that I do not? #eyeroll
  18. I've been hearing rumors that RW is officially dead. What would you think to be the main cause? I'm thinking the gimmick seasons in the end had to be the final nails in the coffin. I'm also thinking the irregular schedule (seasons deviating from the one-per-year format), the vain attempts at trying to give the kids something to occupy them, Las Vegas in general, incredibly shitting casting (remember Greg? It didn't just start and finish with Dionne and Racist Jenna), and the truly awful Bad Blood season. And I think it's perfectly acceptable to throw Puck on the pile because fuck him. And Nia.
  19. So . . . basically, when it comes to dating, you either get a positive response, negative response, or no response. And positives are pretty rare. I want "action," but I wouldn't want the crap @aradia22 has been enduring. And I'm guessing that gender might be a factor.

No, "cursed" fits. Best guess? Bartolo Colon was their good luck charm, and his teammates would've been felled by falling debris had he not been pitching for them last year.
  21. This week: filler! Actually, it's cute, taking place before the final round of the Chunin Exam. You know, the one where Naruto fucked up Neiji, Sasuke and Gara's battle was interrupted by Orochimaru's machinations, Shikamaru tried to get out of defending the Village by faking unconsciousness, and the Third Hokage sacrificed himself. Also: Naruto shoved an explosive-laden kunai up Shukaku's ass. Good times. Anyway, the plot is kindasorta related to the Pain story, because Naruto goes off on a wild goose chase to find the Fourth's "legacy," not knowing that was his father. We also have Sakura, Shikamaru and his team, and Might Guy advancing the plot in a very painful manner. Of course, only Naruto doesn't see through his "elder" disguise. Oh, and Konahamaru breaks out Sexy No Jutsu: Pole Dance. Hard to believe he'd face down a Pain one day.
  22. Well done, @Sandman87. Been a while since I've seen CTCD, but I vaguely remember that. Having the ability to discern information about a person by eating their hair has got to be a very bad ability to possess. If I had that, I would have to go stealth, because I wouldn't want anybody know about that. We get more about Biscuit. Wait, the last "Biscuit" we saw on Toonami died like a punk, so lets call her "Bisky." She takes the boys under her finely-dressed wing, making them level up on some asshole with a scissor fetish, then forcing them to dig a path to a place they already visited. Oh, and her last name is "Kruger," so you know there might be something behind that. Minimum, she can be considered scary for constantly one-shotting Killua.
  23. I'm sorry to hear that, @aradia22. I don't know you, but I'm willing to bet you don't deserve any grief. I haven't gotten a nibble since I subscribed. I'm looking at five photo profiles, and one of them is a guy. Why must you do that, OKC?? I'd feel even worse for the poor hetero bastard who has to look at the picture from my profile.
  24. Sad news: Lisa Hinds, one-half of TAR9's "Glamazons," has passed away.

Wow . . . nine no-hit innings, and the Dodger pitcher gives up a homer in the tenth. Is that as close to Harvey Haddix as we can get these days?
