“Your kid is a terrorist. Blame Barry Allen.”
-
Yeah, but he’s being asked to look for otherworldly (otherearthly?) stuff. Feels like a leap. But if he can get his hair straightened in record time when he suits up . . . why not? 😜

“Hi, you’ve reached STAR Labs. A crisis is coming, Barry Allen is gonna die, and we’re prepping for that. Please leave a message after the beep, and we’ll try to get back to you. No promises.”

Not like Oliver has Cisco on speed dial OH WAIT. I don’t hate Curtis, but since when is he THE tech geek?
-
Oh, hi, Curtis. Nice facial hair, though.
-
Maybe Felicity had an algorithm based on Oliver to raise Mia. Doesn’t “O.L.L.I.” sound feasible?
-
Massive bomb in a dude. It’s like Gotham never went away.
-
Not like Oliver has friends who time travel OH WAIT . . .

You mean . . . Ben is the Monitor? The Monitor is Ben?!?

“Gank little JJ?” “Noooooooo!!!”

“Who’s gonna tell Rene his daughter’s dead one-two-three-not it!!!!!”

“MY NAME IS OLIVER QUEEN! GOTTA TALK FAST!!!”

Any word about whether the episodes would be available earlier on the Adult Swim app?

"Jean Smart. For when you have an unbelievably cerebral series based off comic books, and you need an older actress to steal scenes and kick ass." Welcome back, Laurie! From second-generation superheroine (without a mask, ironically) to a hardcore FBI agent., and she fits in well here. Granted, her arrival is just another match in the powder keg that is Tulsa, but we're not the ones in danger of falling cars or "space junk" (anyone think of Dead Like Me?), so it's entertaining. Dope that I am, I never thought Veidt could be imprisoned, or that he could be on Mars with Dr. Manhattan as the "Game Warden." That would explain the servants . . . maybe Big Blue creates those from scratch. If they're on Mars, I mean. Either way, Veidt is still Veidt . . . brilliant and sinister. Age just makes things a little funnier . . . though Jeremy Irons doesn't look ridiculous in the Ozymandias costume. Yes, my ears perked up at "Republic serial villain." Wasn't that the phrase Veidt used as he lowered the verbal boom on Rorschach and Nite Owl? "We had an agreement . . . one of use died, the other would speak at the funeral. Also, Judd made it clear that if a terrorist were to invade his funeral and that person would blow up, it would be okay to use his coffin to contain the explosion, even if he was still in there." Great thinking from Angela. I'd still be legging as far away as I could. My contribution: given the color of the . . . . device, maybe the real Dr. Manhattan was . . . bigger on the inside? Shut up, that was funnier than Laurie's episode-long joke.

What is the schedule for MLB awards?

Two changes on the SPS page: Asaf Goren has been added to the cast list. His listed credits: "Are You the One? 4, Big Brother Israel, Worst Cooks in America" My reaction: "Geez, there's a Big Brother over there too?!?" This is now written at the very top: "HOST: TBD May not be TJ" DUN-DUN-DUUUUUUUUUUNNNNN!!!!!! Seriously, as seismic as the prospect of no Cara Maria would be, Teege not hosting seems unthinkable in of itself. Then again, is there anyone who can't do what he does? Just show up, pump up the drama, and yell at players for acts of violence even when the series is 60 percent violence at minimum.

I use the scanning method. Reminds me of the ScanTron tests I took in school. I guess the mechanical predecessor wasn’t secure. You got to pull a lever. If someone tells you they didn’t imagine starting up an electric chair? That person is a liar. Or maybe there’s something wrong with me. In a just world, those wouldn’t sell a damn nickel. But they’re on sale at the president’s candidate site, so . . . yeah. That. Also, I’m still open to replacing the phrase “witch hunt” with “witch pursuit thing.” Trevor Noah covered Spicer on DWTS last week. Basically, Spicey is actively gaming the voting system, so he never gets eliminated no matter how poorly he dances . . . which — from what I’ve seen — is all the time.

Yep, Randy’s goose is gonna be cooked. Well, probably not. Like how the boys got a throwing star in Butters’s eye, and everyone was too focused on Cartman sneaking around naked. Here’s the synopsis for “Season Finale”: It would help to say this isn’t the season finale. It’s probably the end of the Tegridy Farms story arc and opening credits. BTW, does anyone else get down to Randy’s theme song remix?

Just realized I got a sketch of Spider-Man Noir from Fabrice Sapolsky, the artist of the original miniseries. This wasn't the semi-camp Nic Cage movie version, though. The story was pretty good . . . read it if you can.

I don't know what was goofier: Jessie Rath's portrayal of Brainy possessed by alien spiders, or realizing Rip Roar was very loosely based on a character that popped up in the original Young Justice comic. Here is the original version, which looks especially badass when compared to what looks like a cosplayer that couldn't decide between Dr. Octopus and Robocop. Good episode, with Andrea continuing to be the absolute worst. And given how many disasters occur in National City, you'd think anyone there would want to be unbelievably alert at all times . . . as opposed to being blissed-out in their individual virtual environments. I'm sorry . . . how did Kara, Nia and J'onn stop the massive tidal wave? Also, why did J'onn stay in human for- . . . durr. Budgetary reasons. I feel for William, but I kept waiting for him to look at us, all, "Do you get we're British in this flashback? Because we were. Us two chaps would have tea with Manchester Black on the weekend, that's how British we were."

"Wait . . . I didn't tell you about my stepsister, Luke? Well, I have a stepsister. And she's not the same ethnicity as me. I probably would have remembered to tell you a lot earlier, but there's this whole thing with my twin sister being insane and me stepping in for my absent cousin as the protector this sad city sorely needs. [pause] You didn't believe her, Luke?" Once again, Alice manages to cart off the bulk of an episode., as we get her sad-as-hell origin story. Apparently, she was "taken in" by a weirdo and his disfigured son, and the Kanes never figured things out. They came so, so close . . . but television tropes, y'know? Yes, Luke and Mary look really ship-able. How long until Mary stumble onto Kate's secret? I missed that the Arkham Asylum breakout from "Elseworlds" happened recently. If we're blaing Barry yet again, doesn't Oliver deserve some of that as well? Just realized . . . no Vesper this week. Unless I missed that part . . .

??? I firmly believe there is a conspiracy to keep soccer/football from getting too recognized in the U.S. If a World Cup final is end in regulation time, it would come in around two hours long. NBA Finals, Stanley Cup and/or Super Bowl games? Nope. And remember how stunned I was last year when I found out Game 1 of the World Series came in under three hours?

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - General Discussion
Lantern7 replied to Meredith Quill's topic in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
I think it’s safe to say that of the five Jojos (Jojoes?) we have met so far, Giorno had the toughest childhood. When the fact that your biological father wanting to become a god isn’t at the very top of your list of woes? Then you are fucked. After the flashbacks, Giorno and Bruno throw down. In addition to bringing life to inanimate objects (such as turning Bruno’s knocked-out tooth into a housefly), Gold Experience can also hyper-charge an opponent’s mind, leaving him open to attack. In the end, Giorno decides that Bruno deserves to live because he has a good soul. Apparently, Giorno’s years of observation allow him to make those decisions. On the bright side, he doesn’t have to lick another guy’s sweat to make those decisions. I can’t seem to find subtitled credits. I’ll post that when I find it. For anyone unfamiliar with the series . . . which character in those credits looks the most interesting to you? -
