Basically, an hour of Lex Luthor: Magnificent Bastard. Well, except for the flashback where he tried to step to Farmer Kent directly, as opposed to using the Book of Destiny on him. That was stupid. And funny. It's fun to watch Lex basically make himself the hero of Earth-Prime, and yet still work hard to keep one step ahead of his opponents . . . up to and including putting on a beard and wig to play a bartender. I like to think Tess didn't actually kill Jeremiah. No, I think she pointed a gun at him, he laughed really hard at the idea of her trying to kill him, and he wound up having a heart attack. It's not that she's a cream puff. She was actually doing well until she handed in her resume for the Mrs. Luthor position. "Oh, I'm so sorry. That position does not exist. Also, the guys protecting your mom from Leviathan? They're still there, but now they'll kill her if I say the word. Wow, this is a great spread, Ms. Tessmacher!" Never thought we'd get a Sun Eater on TV.

This was a comedy disguised as action-packed. Seriously, the only thing missing at the end when Alice discovered that Lucius Fox's book was written entirely in code was a "WAH. WAH. WAH. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" sting. Mary is now part of the Bat Team, though Kate and Luke's objections were entirely justified. You have to get her points for getting dressed up, hitting the club, crashing the "auction," and offering $10 million to buy a captive Batwoman. We also got to see Luke do the "First rule of Bat Team is you do NOT talk about Bat Team!" thing . . . and then he revealed that Bruce Wayne was Batman. WAH. WAH. WAH. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. Regan's back! And she and Kate have a steamy hookup! And then steals the plot device book and hands it to Magpie! Okay, that part sucked, but it was really hot. Honestly, though, I don't expect Kate to hook up with every woman she meets that leans in her direction. I'm certain that during COIE, nothing happened between Kate and Sara Lance, and they were stuck in the same place for who knows how long.

Anyone else think that the main purpose of this episode was not merely a way to show and spoof on story structure, but rather that a lot of the epic scenes would wind up in the S4 trailer, making us believe we would see dangling story threads soon to be resolved? Nah. When I can get me a Story Train? That merch looks so good! This episode was a bit odder than usual. I'm guessing it will need a few more viewings to fully sink in. I do know Morty's spontaneous story-telling skills are pure crap . . . though the distillation of certain female-centric commercials into a battle against scorpions was pretty funny.

NOW we have a new episode. It starts at 11:15, running for 35 minutes.

Dang, I just posted about SyFy on the anticipation thread. Comedy Central has aired the first three seasons of Bojack Horseman, and most of it was uncensored. Granted, those episodes aired really late at night, and SyFy is doing this before midnight. I guess we'll see. 🤷♂️🤷♂️

I don't know if this thread is supposed to be closed. I just wanted to post that SyFy will be airing episodes late Sunday nights. As someone who doesn't use subscription TV, I'm looking forward to DVRing it.

Team Four Star put out another short, this one centering on Krillin and Eighteen's first date. And here's a shorter short, featuring a character we don't see that often:

I was poking around cable just now. For any Mets fans reading this, SNY is running classic Opening Day games. I’m not sure why they never throw in 1985, when newly-acquired Gary Carter hit a walkoff homer at Shea. But here’s the real kicker: this coming week, SNY will be showing all five games of the 1969 World Series. Check out some of the greatest moments in team history . . . the dramatic catches, JC Martin’s daring bunt, manager Gil Hodges calmly telling an ump that his guy was hit by a pitch as Earl Weaver slowly loses his mind, and more!
-
Quick clip: C’mon, Rick! Let the guy in! You know that staying outside on a cold Christmas night is something you’d inflict on Jerry! And no one would blame you!!

I've been DVRing Pokemon for the past few years, and quarantine gives me the time to start burning through it. I've just started the Kanto arc. Wondering if Brock will ask Kiawe if everyone in Alola with his skin wears so few clothes. Also imagining Delia Ketchum shouting that she got spit-roasted by the Oak cousins. There may be something wrong with me. Ash's roster at this moment: Pikachu, Litten, Rowlet and the recently-evolved Lycanroc. Since this is Ash's guy, it's a rare Dusk version.

Bumping up because the first new episode airs on Sunday night. The descriptions for “Never Ricking Morty”: “Catching a train.”

Mystery Science Theater 3000 - General Discussion
Lantern7 replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Mystery Science Theater 3000
I think it looks the same on the outside. I’ve only seen the main area from the interior. Moon 13 is a very happening place. Did I mention they had a band? . . . and I just realize what you meant. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ And I did see a KTMA episode (I want to say Aztec Mummy vs, The Robot) where they got attacked by alien dogs because the SoL resembled a bone. -
Mystery Science Theater 3000 - General Discussion

FINALLY got around to starting on the Season 11 DVD. Well, it's just the first half. Wait, so what's with the bone motif, especially with the band? At least we can see Gimzonic Institute existed after Joel left the SoL. The transition to Deep 13 wasn't jarring for me back then . . . just something I thought about. Also . . . a ska band? This is not a complaint. I'm just surprised. Reptilicus was a good start for the reboot, though I have trouble with Jonah and the new voices of the bots. Apologies if this sounds shallow or mean, but I'm glad Gypsy got an upgrade. Tom Servo's newfound ability to float? That's a bit more jarring, as was Gypsy popping in, but I'm good with it. And shit, that Dutch comic relief guy really laid it on thick. I knew about Kinga from the comic, as well as . . . .heh . . . TV's Son of TV's Frank. I mean, if you're going to have a character who's an obvious fanboy, emulates the original Frank AND gets played by Patton Oswalt, then you gotta go all out. And seriously, read the comic miniseries. I know it's been collected as a trade paperback. Basically, the crew at Moon 13 forces the cast (and a few more robots I'll probably meet soon) into cheesy and dated comics. I kinda wished this happened when I originally watched the series. -
Given that the importance of the Red Skulls in Total Madness hasn't been fully explained, I'd like to offer a theory I've pitched in the last few weeks. After that, I figure we can speculate what will happen. Teege has explained that only those who win Skulls in Purgatory will run the final. We might get a climax similar to The Island, where only those with keys could run the final mission. I think that will repeat here. Let's say that there's a maximum number of male and female players that could run in the finale (X for each gender). When Jay was sent into Purgatory, the number of men that could run in the end went down by one; either Jay would earn a second Skull, or CT would win and knock Jay's Skull out of circulation. Jay has been sent into Purgatory for a third time, so now the number of male players that can run in the finale is (X-2). On the females' side, Jenny and Dee have earned Skulls, so the potential number of participants is still X. I wonder if any of the players have thought of this. If Jay or Rogan is sent into Purgatory again, the number goes down to (X-3). In theory, whittling down the number of participants isn't quite the same as running a final mission with scrubs for a guaranteed win. However, if you're a guy, and there are fewer men running at the end. that might be the best case scenario. Also, if only one person wins $1 million, having more female players might be incentive for the guys to keep their numbers. Of course, some of the women on this season are capable of kicking so much ass, so either gender might focus of whittling down the number of females running in the end by sending Dee or Jenny back into Purgatory. I don't think that having more than one Skull would directly benefit a player in terms of advantages. However, I reckon we might get a Purge or two before the season ends. Okay, that was too much speculation. The only other thing I can add is that I'm guessing Jay will be okay after the hit Rogan laid on him. However, I think Rogan wins the Purgatory and get the Skull. Anyone else want to share their speculation?

So, basically, Josh is trying to make "fetch" happen.

Reality Blurred: Andy ain’t lovin’ the Tony edit. I get the frustration, but I don’t see Tony as that obnoxious. That said, if he wins, he’s not on Sandra’s level. Yes, I am biased. Erik is back, though this feels underwhelming. Maybe I’m used to dialogue? 🤷♂️

My Hero Academia - General Discussion
Lantern7 replied to Meredith Quill's topic in My Hero Academia
I haven't watched the latest episode yet. Just wanted to inform anyone that's interested that Cartoon Network has been airing episodes at 5:30 a.m., starting with the first one on Tuesday morning. Apparently, they're running Tuesdays-Saturdays. -
You gotta love how annoyed Teege is getting about Jay getting sent to Purgatory for the third time in a row (minimum, I know he's tied Wes & Casey in Fresh Meat). I'm thinking if that happens again, he'll use the word "scurred." Once again: I believe that only x number of people will make it to the end, and anyone left without a Skull gets dismissed. Whether he wins or not, Jay's return means that there will be two fewer male players competing at the end. At least that's my logic. BMP is more about "Okay, this is Balls In, only the ball is on fire" and "Shit, someone should have outlined to Rogan how much is too much." Cut to Rogan: "Wot is this fuss about? Attempted murder is allowed, innit?" That hit was hard enough to warrant a cliffhanger. Likely conclusion: Jay gets up, and they keep playing. Kailah, Kailah, Kailah. I would like to think I am above a current subsection of shaming. That said . . . she kissed Bear. It was so bad, I think the hot-air balloon tattoo on her shoulder tried to float away. Forget that Bear is a modern version of Puck for a second . . . I bet he has a few STDs. Shit, a fling with Bear might count as bestiality in some parts of the world. And he'd probably nod and smile, not knowing what "bestiality" means. And it looks like the Big Dick Fight is on between Jordan and Wes. Seriously, Jordan was holding about a foot of meat in front of Wes' face. The production staff probably hugged him afterward and slipped him a few grand. Sadly, Wes is slowly going back to the asshole I've come to know. If they go into Purgatory, there wouldn't be a clear-cut favorite. Jordan wouldn't have a vacant "lay-up" like Josh last season. Speaking of Josh . . . he should shut the fuck up about Wes. Josh should never take the higher ground. And I like Wes insinuating that Josh is attracted to him. Mission was cool . . . players couldn't drive the car, but they could stick their bodies out of windows and blow shit up. And naturally, three of the six teams fucked it up. Jay and Rogan landing in Purgatory is oddly fitting, given that the former missed a clue and the latter fucked up the math. And Bear couldn't remember the numbers Johnny gave him. Of course he couldn't.

Am I naive to think there is no fix for Tony? I get why he’d annoy a lot of fans, but he hustles and he plays. Yeah, hiding in a tree is a bit stupid and very dangerous, but if it works? It works. I’ll go as far as thinking Probst wants another guy to win, but I honestly don’t think Tony’s name is already on the check. Another endurance challenge. Joy. Food temptation is involved, but it rubs me the wrong way. I guess nobody that gets cast is allergic to nuts. I’d be really hesitant to eat a cookie near peanut butter. Rob doesn’t get evac’ed from the game, so EoE was still extra. Honestly, I don’t anyone to get hurt, but I know CBS would’ve gone “Very Special Episode” if someone got seriously injured. Also, I had to reminded Amber is still in the game. Good idea, but then you’d get people going on hands and knees to whisper. Truth be told, I could probably take one season of that. At this point, why the fuck not? I mean, how many tasks has she pulled off on EoE? How much money has she earned and currently has? The only good part of Thailand. Then she called the remaining players “Stupid, stupid people.” Given that Jenna, Rupert and Tom Buchanan were still in the game, she wasn’t wrong.

Well said, @SnideAsides. Still, though, when CBS pokes TAR around, I’m annoyed. Basically, this GIF of Magic Man from Adventure Time best represents CBS to me. ETA to Mods: I’ll take down the GIF if it’s overkill.
-
Hey, maybe Tony will fall out of a tree. Seriously, I’m not getting rigging vibes. Two hours next week?!? Damn, play more havoc with my Wednesday, CBS. 🙄
-
I’d mention the countdown to TAR, but in case you didn’t hear, CBS is moving it back some more. You think CBS would be desperate enough to base a season on “Rob vs. Tony”?
-
Which one is Kim? I think it’s a combination of my own laziness in keeping up and the downplaying of female contestants.
-
Whispers after the vote? Uuuugggghhhhh. Tony plays the idol? Oh, he just revealed it. What the hell?

Denise is over this. I think she’ll be getting fans tonight.
