  1. Aaaaand T-Pain just happens to have a new album coming out soon. I just Googled it as I think he's being set up to win and then, naturally, he'll have a "new sound" album which will lead to a comeback. Am I showing my age calling it an album? http://www.xxlmag.com/news/2019/01/t-pain-finished-new-album-1-up/
  2. I really didn't like SmashMouth in this episode only because "All-Star" was popular when I was dating the "one who got away." My entire 90s memories are directly related to the song that was popular or that I was into at the time. The writers should really consult with me before deciding what music to use each week... 😉
  3. But did he explain they weird tic he kept doing in his performances?
  4. I would very much like the actor who plays Ronnie to have my babies. Or just do random housework around my apartment. 🙂 I like that this show talks to the real people behind the names at the end, but they literally just talked to Real Coach Mellor a couple of weeks ago! They could maybe come up with another schtick?
  5. I have thoughts on this, too. Duff is the camp counselor of KBC and Valerie is the former child star clinging to some sort of relevancy on a highly-specific basic cable channel. (I'm having a very grumpy day today...)
  6. I think I know what it is, at least for me. That *maybe* she's usually always the youngest, most precocious and she kind of over does the "I'm adorable-ness." Now that I'm starting to explain it I'm sure it doesn't make sense...but like she's used to always being the cutest and she is cute, but - you're right I can't put into coherent words.
  7. My mom makes the best monkey bread; I could gain 25 pounds just by looking at it. Madison was one of my favorites, because she is so funny...her deadpan answers, Talking Head Looks, etc. And I don't even care to admit it, I absolutely teared up when all the kids were saying good-bye. She wasn't the best baker in the group and had more off weeks than on weeks but she is just so adorable. The only things that rubbed me the wrong way were her asides about eating too many chips and needing to work them off since she is a kid and shouldn't have to worry about that stuff and the fact that she seems to be a very picky eater - she doesn't like peanut butter, mango, something else... I want either Davis or Paige to win.
  8. You're right, when he was arguing with Murray they were just spit-balling increasingly more extravagant gifts. Oops!
  9. Not to be too literal, but how would Adam possibly be able to afford all the stuff he got for Bev when trying to pawn her off on Murray? I loved how the 3 other JTP guys all wanted to "play Erica." They are all so sweet to each other and remind me so much of a group of guys I grew up with who have been BFFs since we were 4 and are still that close 30(something) years later. Last thing about this episode (in a very broad sense) that I have to put somewhere because it was So Freaking Awesome! Earlier this week, Adam F. Goldberg retweeted with comment someone complaining about Jackie being "not the real Jackie." I commented something I think was pretty funny and Adam F(reaking) Goldberg REPLIED!!!
  10. I just need to vent. The one thing, above all else, that annoys me about this show is the talking heads. And not that they exist, but that they were clearly all taped at one time as the contestants are all wearing the same outfits in each one regardless of the episode. So I don't think Brittany is particularly as vapid as we see in the THs, she was just playing a character that day. And I only say that because in some of the demonstration segments I've noticed that when she's not the focal point she seems to really be paying attention and maybe she really *does* want to learn to cook, not (only) get noticed. There aren't any remaining contestants I hate...I'm still annoyed that Brett mentions because Arnold Schwarzenegger's body double BECAUSE in that particular movie, Arnold was *at least* 68 years old -- it wasn't Mr. Universe Schwarzenegger!!
  11. I think the right people went home again in the Spice episode. Brittany's boobs (Blue Team) don't bother me because she's young and pretty and who knows how long that will last. BUT KAT and her constant stuffy nose totally grossed me out. So I'm glad she's gone. And Cameron just wasn't getting it at all! But again, he's young. I'm really glad that both Kat and Cameron went home and it kind of feels like, this season, the right people are going home more often.
  12. I agree everything points to NPH, except that pesky voice part. Maybe it's his never heard of magician partner twin I just made up, Patrick Neil Harris. I want it to be NPH. I don't know boy bands well enough to know voices, but it is probably Joey Fatone because he's on everything!!! ETA: I forgot I wanted to mention this. How cool would it be if one of the contestants, who is a real singer, sang one of their own songs? Like if Donny Osmond the Peacock sang ":Soldier of Love."
  13. I agree I think the Rabbit is Joey Fatone, BUT aren't there a lot of New Mexico-ish clues? And with the magician stuff maybe Neil Patrick Harris not at all sounding like Neil Patrick Harris (or being Neil Patrick Harris) and I'm so confused and just want to know who everyone is - it is hard for me to fall asleep on Wednesday nights because I just keep trying to figure out who is what. I think this forum pegged Tori Spelling for the Unicorn pretty quickly though! :)
  14. This morning (maybe last night....either way I read it this morning) he posted a picture of it. Unrelated to that though, last night I realized that when they say it was {Month} {Day}, 1980something the date they use is the actual air date which is kind of cool. I always wondered why the dates seemed so random but then I remembered I watched everything out of order to start.
  15. Jaxson reminds me so much of my nephew - in looks, age, sound of voice, personality - that it kind of creeps me out but he is also my favorite. The only kid that kind of annoys me, for no reason she just does is Jenna. Macarons look so difficult and I expected a full cast melt down! I think this is the first season where none of the kids are overly obnoxious?
  16. Maybe I was only kind of paying attention but it seemed like for Anne's 10 seconds she actually explained stuff and Tyler's 10 seconds were spent watching him visualize the sandwich and then it kind of appeared. Like his sandwich recipe is some very secret one that couldn't be shown?
  17. I don't remember her She's All That-ing Barry though. I thought he just wore her down and she realized she loved him, but I don't really remember. And I get and fully understand why it is happening this way, but my brain does not like that the 2 shows are back-to-back and take place at least a decade-ish apart and Lainey doesn't look any older. And I know they don't say when in the 90s it takes place, but She's All That came out in 1999 and she looks exactly the same, not over 10 years older as she looked during Hands Across America. Talking about Barry like he's a long ago relationship when we just saw her, wearing basically the same clothes and looking exactly the same not 5 minutes earlier stresses me out and distracts me from the show more than it should. But I am very impressed with the actor who plays C.B. and his ability to jump over his leg like that and that there is an actual C.B.
  18. I watch reruns of the show on a local network every evening and there have been A LOT of episodes "dedicated" to Coach Mellor. A crazy amount!!! I did like how they used Charles Barkley, that was cute. The problem with a new Coach Mellor I think is that now it is even less real than before if that makes sense. I mean, I know it's a fictionalized account of Adam F. Goldberg's life, but now it's even more fictionalized (I guess that's the right word) and it's just like Every Other Sitcom. But maybe we'll get a Very Special Episode someday. :)
  19. The two that went home in this episode were the ones I liked the least...and considering I don't really like any of the contestants (of the past 3 seasons) that's saying a lot! I do like the Pharmacist the most so far. And I don't loathe the guy from Alaska.
  20. I think Empty Nest (and Blossom and Nurses for some reason) took place in the same universe as Golden Girls, but not an actual spin-off. I looooooved that they mentioned Golden Palace, it doesn't get mentioned enough. :) I liked the show so far and I'm looking forward to what is ahead. The foreshadowing on The Goldbergs makes me believe that, while Barry and Lainey won't get back together he may have a kid or something attend the school and that's how they'll reunite, eventually (if Schooled makes it that far). Like The Goldbergs there are some weird year mashups (I don't know how to explain it) as Matt Ryan would have been a freshman in 1999 and the Donahue moshing episode was 1995-ish -- I realize it was recording though (I had surgery that summer, watched a lot of talk shows). Anyway, to make a short story endless I liked the show.
  21. I remember Melon Farmer, but maybe that is the mandela effect? All of Geoff was me realizing that Christmas stuff was so much more fun than Chanukah stuff for the first time.
  22. It's just hard to care about any Lainey storyline right now because we know she won't become a rock star or stay a college drop-out - at some point she'll go back and get her teaching degree and/or certificate and she won't stay with Barry because that Dude-Teacher from the commercials is cute and you can't have 2 cute coworkers in a sitcom without a romance. I'm annoyed that Barry is still in high school, but the JTP wouldn't work if they weren't in HS -- unless they were in community college but private school kids don't usually go to community college (I'm guessing on that part). Sorry, I'm venting - I haven't nothing else to do today. :)
  23. Agree. If Schooled starts before The Goldbergs ends and Barry isn't in Schooled (and I just checked imdb - he's not in it), then we already know how that storyline is going to play out and it is hard to get invested. But I did like the interaction when he asked Adam to be his best man. And how the JTP described *their* version of the bachelor party they would throw.
  24. Every. Single. Time. I see him in anything, I say (usually out loud) "It's the Squiggy of Double Trouble!" Which reminds me, the show has mentioned Square Pegs, but have they mentioned other shows everyone else forgot (Double Trouble, It's Your Move, It's Garry Shandling's Show)?
