  1. My BiL is actually an orthodontist and I texted him to turn on the show this week (before we saw the brace-stuffed mouth) to ask if teeth are supposed to be that straight!
  2. I could not stand Brady at all. Maybe it was "I'm kind of a big deal in tennis," or maybe it was his too straight teeth. I don't know. I'm not sorry he's gone, even though he did bake well before (I guess...I'm not the one eating it!) Finally we're at the part where I like all the other kids. Tarek is my inner nervous monologue, Trevin is just so stinkin' cute, Brooke is adorable, someone does a great job on Sophie's hair. My problems with Taylor is that in the first episode, she didn't fulfill the challenge and she cooked with coffee IIRC. Then last week she talked about how much she doesn't like coffee. But I still really like her and her fancy pants cakes!
  3. I promise this now, if I ever get on one of these shows (I won't, but let's pretend), I will commit to, "I'm here because my cat wants a condo."
  4. Even, for all his preening, I think Damiano would be better.
  5. I was hoping that last night would be the episode where Buddy learned a little humility. You can be self-confident and humble at the same time, but his self-centered, horrible sportsmanship, sore loser (he said something crappy about Duff's pie after Duff won...can't remember what it was) is just a total downer to watch when there are other FN bakers/pastry people who would be so much more fun to watch in a competition with Duff. - Lorraine Pascale - Zac Young -Waylynn Lucas This show is pretty much the last thing I watch on Sunday nights and it just sucks to end the night on such a sour note. I know I don't have to watch, but then what would I complain about ๐Ÿ˜‰.
  6. I think it also helped that I wasn't wearing my glasses, so my eyes were already unfocused enough? I just remember standing bored at the mall while all my friends stood at the kiosk that sold those pictures and I was just so sure they were making stuff up!
  7. Frankly, I enjoy* Buddy's Tell I See It candor and can't stand Duff's Everyone's Loveable Camp Counselor attitude. *My niece told me today is Official Opposite Day
  8. Didn't it? I was very distracted by how much Clinton Kelly looked like a piece of chewed gum. I don't know if it was the cheek fillers or what, but it was driving me crazy! There should be a show where people tell others what not to wear. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  9. As someone who has never ever been able to see those pictures no matter what I do, I appreciated when he showed it to the teachers at the end because I'm not sure if it was camera work or somehow a slightly more defined picture, but I could totally see it! I finally felt like a champion! *Tim Meadows...
  10. I thought this episode was okay but not one of the best. I don't like that Murray suddenly has an entirely different disposition - wasn't he upset about the expense of sending Erica to college or did I make that up? We've also seen him really supportive and not be like he was in this episode. I don't know how to explain it, it just seemed off. It did renew my 1980s crush on Steve Guttenberg. He can do no wrong. One unexpected detail I noticed (because I can't help but notice tiny background stuff), we know Fred Savage directed the episode but ALSO the director or cameraman or whatever at the public access station was played by Steve Hytner who played Fred Savage's coworker in the TV show Working.
  11. I just remembered that I saw Jim J. Bullock in a US Tour version of Kinky Boots a few years ago and how slightly star struck I was to be in the same room as Monroe!!! Now I know he's going to annoy me and I'll get to come here and complain about him! I also recently saw Richard Kline (Larry on Three's Company) in the US Tour version of Waitress and I was equally star struck, but I don't think he would annoy me. Can we switch one 80s tv character for a better one?
  12. Honestly, it occurred to me last night that the winners of the first 2 seasons are either in college or at least seriously looking at colleges! But I also want to know where they want to attend and what they *now* want to major in. All that stuff!
  13. You should use your ability to predict the future for good. ๐Ÿ™‚
  14. But he's not a sore loser, just ask him! ๐Ÿคฃ
  15. When my friend's daughter was maybe 9-10 years old, her life-long dream was to have a job in NYC but commute from Hoboken, NJ because that's where Cake Boss was filmed. She was obsessed with it and how she would commute and pass by the shop every day and that would be her dinner. Cut to today: She absolutely has a job in NYC and commutes from Hoboken and completely forgot about that "life-long dream" until my friend and I reminded her. She is also now a gluten-free vegan, so I doubt she'll be wasting time and money on such a jerkface (<--technical term).
  16. I wonder if he has any self-awareness to be embarrassed watching it back last night.
  17. There was one point where Duff tweeted something like "not tweeting, too fascinated" and I wanted to respond "But you were there!!!" But really I thought Buddy was being a jerk because there was some huge age difference with him being in his mid/late 50s and not understanding Duff's style. Now that I realize Buddy is barely a year older than me, I really hope this jerky thing is something he does for the cameras otherwise how does he get through life!
  18. I did the live tweeting with Duff during the show (mostly so I could remember stuff to share here). Stuff I tweeted: 1. Buddy: If we don't win we'll know the fix is in. (Does he work for the White House?) 2. "I'm not a sore loser" is exactly something a sore loser says. It's in the manual. 3. I've watched Duff on a few different shows...Tomorrow night he'll be cool camp counselor on KBC...Tonight he respectful professional competitor.
  19. Celebrity Edition - Spring 2019 Predictions Jim J. Bullock - He's funny in very small doses or as Monroe on that one TV show. He will annoy me before the first commercial break. Morgan Fairchild - I constantly get her confused with Farrah Fawcett for no discernable reason (as Farrah is dead). I know she's an actress but I've never really watched her. Only in those Old Navy commercials. Tonya Harding - Will talk a good game, set something on fire, and cry at some point. She will mention her wrestling career. Jonathan Lipnicki - He was just in that one movie when he was little, right? I think maybe he'll be there to for real learn how to cook because I think he's in his early-mid 20s when it's time to learn how to feed yourself? Taryn Manning - I have no opinion on her. I watched 8 Mile, she was in that. She'll probably annoy me. Alec Mapa - I don't know who this is. I looked at his Wikipedia and thought I knew, but then realized I confused him for someone else. Kym Whitley - I've watched some of the stuff listed on her Wikipedia page, but I don't know who she is either. Jimmie Walker - Dynomite! He will annoy me before the first commercial break.
  20. The Perfect Strangers theme song is one of the songs I sing in the shower (the others are the Different World and 227 theme songs, my showers have a very specific late-mid80s-early90s tone), so I KNEW either Erica would sing it as some point or it would be featured. And it was featured along with a near copy of the opening of the show. Because of that and my love of this song, I didn't pay too much attention to the actual content. I honestly spent a lot of the episode trying to figure out which 90s commercial I remember Joey Slotnick from -- I thought it was the Bitter Beer Face one, but now I'm not sure. So if anyone knows that, please let me know as it is *almost* keeping me up at nights. I also determined that they are turning Beverly into an absolute ass. There's no way real Bev is that self-centered and narcissistic and still has relationships with friends and family. If she is, she needs help...or to be punched in the face. It actively pisses me off. In conclusion (Thanksgiving):, I liked the show just for the Perfect Strangers theme song, Joey Slotnick was very distracting, Bev is a mega-douche and I'm over it.
  21. A few weeks ago (obviously) when Davis won the challenge - the week Duff said something "You guys need to chill him out," but in a jokey way, I noticed that Davis said under his breath, "What is wrong with me?" And that broke my heart so much! He's been my favorite since - and it can't be easy not only being with brand new kids in a weird new experience but also being in a different country. I know I don't think of Canada as that much different than the US because the border is 5 minutes from where my grandparents lived, but it is a different country. In conclusion, TeamDavis or TeamMeadow. ๐Ÿ™‚
  22. What was up with Jaxson wanting to keep churro making a secret? He could have been less jerky about it and why he wasn't being helpful. I know it's a competition, but there is no way giving Nyah more details would have resulted in her making a better churro then him since she's never made one.
  23. I posted this in another thread, but do you think it is a coincidence that we think Monster is T-Pain and he has new music coming out soon? http://www.xxlmag.com/news/2019/01/t-pain-finished-new-album-1-up/
