  1. Yeah. It makes a lot of sense to compare The Flash and Arrow (as well as LOT) because same universe, same producers, same writers. It's pretty evident that the writers of each show do have to attempt to make some effort in being aware of what happens on each show. If that wasn't the case, this episode wouldn't have happened, and neither would the next episode of LOT. There are tropes written by loads of people in loads of different shows since TV began, and then there are tropes written by a similar group of writers, on shows produced by the same person, on the same network, and airing at the same time, that are all set in the same world. We can say 'Buffy did this ages ago', but it's more relevant to say 'Arrow, the show that helped to launch The Flash and has the same producers, did this two years ago', because we can draw a direct line from one to the other.
  2. That's really weird. Why did they let that queue happen? The way they did it on Saturday was to only let a certain amount of people into the room (by only letting people in certain groups go in at a time).
  3. Not as far as I'm aware. At her panel this morning there was no mention of BC, and she did say that she wanted more female characters, but why would she say she hates the scripts? That's the dumbest lie I've ever seen someone try to pull off. I doubt she wants to get fired or fucked over by the writers. Most stores in the UK are only open till 5 on a Sunday at the latest because of trading laws. There aren't any electronic stores near the NEC though.
  4. I do feel really sorry for the volunteers though. They had to get security in the room because people were yelling and trying to push the tables over. This should have been a lot more organised and they shouldn't have shoved this onto volunteers at all. For a fairly expensive convention, they should have definitely given back some sort of compensation.
  5. Thats another problem. The photos are taken in 'random' order so there's no record of who took what photo in what order. They can't send them out because all they've got is a bunch of photos with different people in them, but no idea who those people are, let alone their addresses. People have been told to e-mail in if they haven't got their photo, presumably with a picture of themselves?
  6. Okay, so this is what I've gathered... The people printing out all of the photos are all volunteers. There are people complaining because apparently they're still waiting on downloads from last year, so they're worried they won't even get a download. They really shouldn't have volunteers deal with this. It should be the management.
  7. When I was walking past it sounded like they were available for free download.
  8. I just want to clarify that I don't think Katie said that she thinks Oliver and Laurel lost their virginity to each other, just that Laurel lost her virginity to Oliver. The panel was a bit weird and she did get some difficult questions. She seemed to want to get off stage as soon as possible. Emily's panel was fantastic this morning, she was really sweet and fun. Shes very good with fans and coming up with stuff on the fly. Whilst she did go off topic sometimes, but it was cool because we got to learn about her.
  9. She did also say that she did think if brought Laurel's character down for saying that in the last scene... I think. She does tend to ramble. Just now 'Hopefully there will be more of Black Siren'
  10. Emily and everyone else hates the eyelet coat. It's really noisy, and 'it seems to magically change sizes'. I feel pretty vindicated.
  11. I got photos with OTA separately and each experience was better than the last. At Stephens photoshoot it was really quick. He was going through people in literally 15-30 seconds so there wasn't really time to talk at all. There weren't any 'poses'. I introduced myself and shook his hand first, then he got my name wrong (but that's okay), and I was out like a second later. David Ramsey was a bit more 'chill'. He was still going through people fast, but he was happy to do poses with people. I got a hug off him and he chose a pose for us, but we didn't really talk. It was still super fun though. And he does smell good. Emily was also a lot more chill. Like I said earlier, they only got through upgrades and A and B, but I got let through because I told the guys at the door that I wouldn't be in tomorrow. She was dancing about and trying to get everyone in the queue dancing. She had a quick chat with people and she was really happy to do poses as well. When I went up, she complemented me on my industrial piercing, and I told her that I got it because of her, and she told me it looked good on me. John Barrowmans panel was amazing, it was so funny and I really didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. He told a really funny anecdote about silent farting. David Ramsey also did a great panel. I didn't think that the queue for EBR autographs was that bad, but I got there early. That was also really quick though. They queue for a DR autograph was long (and it was annoying because there was a separate queue for those with priority tickets, who could 'butt in' when they wanted) but doable. He was really cool as well. I felt really bad for the guy who plays Wally West. There wasn't a lot of people at his panel, and his queue for autographs was completely empty. I felt bad so I went over to get one, but he's a sponsored guest so I couldn't get one without a ticket anyway.
  12. The queue for Emily's photo was insane. They only did VIPs, Upgrades and people in group a and b. The only reason I got in was because I told them I couldn't make tomorrows one.
  13. Go now, the queue was doable when I went there, but it got a lot longer by the time I left. They let me in for early entry as well!
  14. I just found out I'm working Sunday morning (even though I asked for it off) which means I'm going to be missing part of the convention. I'm hoping it's all Flash and LOT stuff so I don't miss anything.
  15. This episode is probably going to be me skipping all of the 'father/daughter' scenes of one relationship, whilst rewatching all of the 'father/daughter' scenes of another relationship
  16. Depending on how much time you have, you might be able to do both. Stratford can definitely be done in an afternoon. There are three train stations in the City centre and they're all really close, New Street, Moor Street and Snow Hill and trains go up to Stratford from the latter two every half hour on a week day and Saturday, and it will take less than an hour to get there. Like I said before the canal is a very walkable distance from the town centre (and a really nice walk too usually, but there are some works going on. We've got some great architecture) and as Brindley Place is right next to it, you can have dinner right next to it too.
  17. Thanks for that! I will add that if anyone wants to get any shopping done or explore the city a bit, it's just a train from the NEC into Town (New Street station). Birmingham has some pretty good shopping, we've got the Bullring shopping centre which has got a Selfridges in it as well as a bunch of other stores. And there's also the newly added Grand Central on top of New Street Station, which has a giant John Lewis. If you've got time or you're staying for a couple of extra days, Brindley place is also a really nice place to go to grab food. It's a very doable walk from New Street, and a really nice one as well because you get to go past the Library and see the Canal. Plus it's close to Broad Street which has a lot of great nightlife. I'm kind of a native, so if you have any questions or need directions or whatever, I'm pretty happy to help!
  18. They are surprisingly unorganised considering that they've already done this before. Surely the guests know the schedule? Why aren't they releasing it yet? I really need to be planning my trains.
  19. Did anyone else think it was weird that they had the score playing whilst Thea was talking about the birds chirping and the dog bark the first time? When she was outside with Alex. I thought it was pretty funny that Thea was discussing why she felt so uncomfortable, whilst the soundtrack was blocking the reason out anyway. Strange editing strikes again.
  20. I just realised why this episode didn't work for me (and a lot of other people). It worked on a quite weird principle. In order to have the emotional impact that this episode was supposed to to, I had to be invested in Laurel and her relationships to other people. But if I was invested in Laurel and her relationships, I would have been annoyed because this episode essentially shat on Laurel's most important relationship (with Tommy) and completely ignored Laurels other major relationships (with Quinten and Sara). There was literally no way this episode could have achieved what it wanted to.
  21. The episode was hit and miss for me, it had some really good character moments, but the rest of it was so bad that it was bordering on hilarity. They were emphasizing that Laurel is dead and never coming back, whilst completely shitting on her character more (if that was even possible after the last episode). It just goes to show how bad of a character she is, if you can't even write them well when they're not there, they shouldn't have been written in the first place. I loved the scenes with Diggle and Felicity, DR and EBR work so well together and I'm hoping with this... pruning of the team, we'll get to see a lot more of it. I loved Oliver in this episode (except for all of the WWLD, but to be fair Oliver does have a habit of ignoring the negatives of the people he quite liked after they die), it just goes to show how much he's grown. His scene with Felicity was fantastic, even if I was distracted by the awful christmas jumper they put on Felicity. I didn't like Baby Canary, I thought that the acting was awful and the storyline fell so flat to me. I hope never to see her again, but I fear that's not the case.
  22. I don't like the speech bubbles. It feels less like a forum and more like a bunch of people talking into a void. How do I view the forums that I follow? Or is that the thing that was buggy?
  23. I've read the books and I watched the first few episodes, just as a 'hate watch', though not really hate just in a laughing at it kind of way. But it got so bad that I had to give up. The acting, particularly the main actress, is incredibly horrible. She seems to drag everyone down with her, because other actors who have been decent in other stuff seem to have had their acting abilities disappear. The writing is also shit, like seriously. There's no world building at all, and none of it seems to make any sense. That said, a lot of people over on tumblr seem to think that it's much much better than the books (which is a pretty low threshold). And there is Mathew Daddrio.
  24. As a reminder to anyone in the UK, the BBC is celebrating Shakespeare on the 400th anniversary of his death with (amongst other things) a live show from the RSC celebrating his works from 8.30 tonight. They've got a really fantastic cast, David Tennant, Catherine Tate, Dame Judi Dench, Sir Ian McKellen, Dame Helen Mirren and a whole bunch more. Richard II is also available on iplayer at the moment, and will be for the next six months. I know you guys were discussing Titus Andronicus a few pages back, so I thought I'd let you know.
