  1. Those were leftovers - plates bused from tables No, a different scene, the one where she has paged Midge and she comes to the employee cafeteria. They both seem to nibble off of freshly fixed plates, but didn't take either plate.
  2. Ok, so, in the employee cafeteria, Susie nibbled off two plates, but didn't take either one to eat. What was that about? That really bugged me. I'm surprised she didn't take one to eat and one to save for later.
  3. I kind of love Benjamin. He's no push over, and he's a match for Midge's wit. He's also tall and strapping, which doesn't hurt.
  4. Susie and Ethan bonding over Andy Griffith, sandwiches and beer...awwwwwww. The Maisel accounting system is...just wow. Even the accountant that Joel brought in thought it was a piece of shit. Good on Joel for trying to modernize things. Dammit, I don't want to be a fan of Joel, but he seems to be doing some things right. I understand elder Maisel's reasons for keeping certain people on at the factory. He does understand relationships. I like that Paris had some diversity. Abe and Rose in Paris were adorable. I hope they can keep the joyful, authentic connection going. Rose: "You are a wonderful man." Abe: "You are a terrible cook."
  5. It's like Abe listens, but he doesn't really listen. It didn't pertain directly to his needs, so he just overlooked it.
  6. I want Midge to organize my life! She was really handling shit in that switchboard room! Don't tell me multitasking ain't real! Abe is incredibly unobservant and self-absorbed. I absolutely love Rose savoring her simple life in Paris with Simone! She looked so youthful, carefree and relaxed. Kudos to her for realizing that she missed who she used to be, and taking steps to remedy the situation. She is lucky that she has the resources to be able to do it. Not a Joel fan, but I appreciate his honesty to Midge, and his encouraging her to continue to do comedy. Susie's situation. Just, wow. I'm glad she came through ok. Zelda is MVP! She handles Abe and Ethan the same.
  7. ...extremely wealthy young woman who lives in NYC... Nice edit! I forget just how rich Meghan is.
  8. What I will say is that I am not surprised that, even in offering a tribute to her husband, Meghan speaks in war metaphors. Why is her life so hard that everyday is a battle? I think Meghan would be so much happier if she just allowed herself to be a cute, average, well-to-do young woman who lives and works in NYC and enjoys drinking and partying and trashy reality shows. Why subject herself (and us) to the stress and frustration of trying to be a political expert when she is so obviously not?
  9. I think this year's Voice is team Jhud's to lose, with team Kelly a close second. Both teams have a great variety of excellent singers. Unfortunately, that might not appeal to Mid American tastes. I have a feeling that the guy with the long blonde hair and too short pants will definitely be voted in. Patrique's vocal ability is just ridiculous. He is completely over the top, and I am HERE for it. I don't know the name of the second singer on team Jhud, but, her voice was so luscious and effortless. The young woman who sung Worth It...the song and her delivery of it almost moved me to tears. I liked the rendition of Radioactive was powerful, but, I think she used too much pantomime. Does anyone know how songs are picked on this show? It seems so random. Some folk get up to the minute songs that just came out, like God is a Woman, while others get total chestnuts with no dynamics. @LucidDreamer: That is a very apt description of that dress! I thought to myself, "They put that child in floral drapes and boots." The stiffness is more like a slipcover, and the flowers make it Grandma's for sure.
  10. Meghan is so messy! When Abby was saying that people say that her and her husband look alike, Meghan kept squawking "Y'all look nothing alike! He's VERY handsome! He's SO sweet!" It seemed so pointed, like she was saying that Abby wasn't those things.
  11. My fave moment: when Meg had made some comment about a Democrat candidate being too liberal or radical for the party, and the woman with the messy, orange-y blonde hair pushed back with a comment about the Dems being known for being inclusive. Meg didn't look too pleased about that. From what I saw, she managed to behave herself, though, honestly, she wasn't given the opportunity to do much damage.
  12. It really was. She was so like the kid finally allowed at the grownups table, and was totally out of her league. She hasn't changed much at all, just so much more loud and forceful in her ignorance.
  13. The above quote is from @Apprentice79. Here is a link to the Bill Maher clip, and it is GLORIOUS. It shows that she has been espousing the same tired, ignorant rhetoric for a long time, plus playing the victim card ("The mean man is using his smarts to pick on little ol' blonde me!")
  14. For some reason, US folk are much harder on Jennifer here. Her shenanigans aren't any worse than the other judges, and I think she does a good job of coaching her recruits.
  15. I missed the can on the show, but totally remember those in real life.
  16. Man, John Goodman has lost some serious weight. DJ's wife is sharp! I loved her banter with Darlene. Line of the night: "Reservation? We have our own Cabana." I hope this Jackie stays as well. I didn't miss Rosanne at all. My daughter totally picked the broody, sarcastic boy, and predicted Darlene's son would, too. Loved Dan helping him compare.
  17. I loved the first song, too! It was very artistic, like jazzy spoken word performance. I appreciate when older artists take some creative risks.
  18. Exactly. There is nothing to be "jelly" of. The woman of The View are intelligent and accomplished. They are not the decorative appendage of a "wealthy" man. Looking at her social media pages that were shown during the interview, the focus was primarily on hair/makeup, clothes, and travel. Her face lit up with genuine pleasure as she looked at those pages. Yes, she was willing to play mistress, bide her time so she could marry Trump and have access to those benefits. Her greatest accomplishment was to marry a monster for wealth. I agree with YNB, Melania is not a person worthy of respect. Having the title of FLOTUS doesn't automatically confer respect. She's going to have to give up victimhood status and get out there and actually *do* the work of being First Lady if she wants us all to focus on more than her clothes.
  19. Free from jury duty! Yay, I guess, that Meghan's dad raised her to be so "strong" and "tough". That he would have also instilled discernment and good listening skills. Her "join me!" soapbox speechifying got on my nerves. Buttering up of Meghan aside, I thought YNB had some good things to say about civic engagement. But, seriously, it's not like Taylor Swift sings about political issues. Abby can still enjoy her music as a mindless respite.
  20. I hope that Meghan doesn't hang onto a job she is not happy in just to fulfill her dad's dying wish.
  21. I am in jury duty right now, but, based on y'all's posts, this episode will be worth watching later when I get the chance. I love YNB, and can't wait to see what she has to say. Has there been much interaction between Abby and Meghan?
  22. I will say that I find Ana and Tara to be more articulate in expressing their points of view than Meghan. They can strongly argue their points and stand their ground without getting flustered. They seem well-informed, and to have actual beliefs rather than party talking points they are parroting. To me, Meghan wants to be taken seriously as a political pundi(n)t, but has very little depth of knowledge to back it up. She just doesn't seem to do her homework, or come prepared to present intelligently.
  23. That career day skit made me laugh until I cried. I remember the movie character they are spoofing, if not the name of the film. Kanye, you suck. I thought his first song, plus Pete Davidson's bit during WU, were very tone deaf.
