I think it shows how much influence Christine had on the older children in their growing up years. The reason they seem amazing is that she stayed home to raise them while Meri, Janelle and maybe Kody worked.

Well, wasn't that depressing? Hard for me to snark on it, which is unusual. I even kinda liked Jessica. It was so sad that she does not believe in herself or trust the process enough to change her diet. Doncha think it comes down to being psychological since it is not physical? She seemed cleaner than many of the tv weight-loss participants,lived alone in a NICE house, and had a nephew that loves her to pieces.(or should I say death!). what aires? of being thrifty? buying used anything helps the environment .why bother paying full price when one can be a smart shopper? No one needs to know where you bought your designer gown. My parents became new money folk and in part it was due to Mother finding ways to look the part while she was becoming the part.

i have never thought of consignment as buying something i can't afford. not in either direction, buying used or selling something expensive i don't plan on wearing again. if I aspired to hand down a wedding dress to a daughter one day that is different, but i can't see another reason to store it after wearing it once or even a few times in the case of other type expensive garments. rich folk can be thrifty too.

I think it is not so much the "experts" i think there is a group of bosses that over ride matches that could work. I only say this cuz I can't see all of us (here) to be seemingly better at knowing a bad match than the "experts". I think they are instructed to make matches dramatic and explain it is workable cuz the 'contestants" a balance each other. There is something to a balancing act. My late husband and I were better together in some ways , for example my impulsivity vs his cautiousness, but it is ridiculous to think pet lovers could work out with partners that are either not pet lovers are worse still allergic. Homebodies vs travelers, spendthrifts are not bad people but when they are "matched" with someone so noble as a fireman do-gooder, it becomes silly and the outcome is predictable. Predictable is not drama. The example of pet lovers vs. allergic is drastic but pastor cal and them rationalize crazy opposite characteristics in the name of balancing out, when I believe it is for the sake of manufactured drama. Is it that the powers-that-be think we want chaos over real possibilities of good matches? Go ahead and throw in a few mismatched but stop with pitting couple that we all know can't work. I would really like to know if viewership would wane if we had more successful pairings.
