My CBS affiliate showed today's game at 10:30 this morning, and tomorrow's game will be at 10:30 tomorrow morning. No idea why -- they have a sister station they could show it on at the regular time, but I guess reruns of Last Man Standing are preferable?

Becky was cleaning the house the way she did, (also leaving all the sticky notes) to get back at Darlene. Of course she knows how to clean. Everything she did was a direct response to all the color-coded notes Darlene left. An outstanding example of passive-aggressive sibling battles!

What's the word on the street about Sweeney Todd with Josh Groban? I love the show, but would have to take an 8-hour train trip (each way!) to NYC to see it. Worth it or nah?

That was great. He really did look a lot like John Ritter!

I thought Jackie was talking about a long-ago explosion?

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"

Lawn darts..... And Jimmy Hoffa. -
I also said Munch for FJ. Even if I'd known where Wilhelmina was Queen, I probably wouldn't have gotten FJ correct. Oh well! I did, however, get the TS of Blofeld, acupressure, Chicago, Golden Retriever, Peter Billingsley, and frog. (I'm a biologist, so I got telomere, too!) I though Buffet needed a BMS, and I also thought Gwen bore a striking resemblance to Elizabeth Banks.

I did notice that she does it too, but not to the extent that Olivia does. Olivia looks at the audience and at the camera a lot, too.

Cast in Other Roles: Who were you in a past life?

Nancy the basement cholera ghost is on Night Court right now. -
I managed to get FJ in the nick of time -- it helped when I finally got to Asia in my head. I also got the missed clues of The Prince and The Pauper, ALS, and dust.

I can believe Malcolm being a little lost with Portal and Blackboard at first. A lot of our students are fairly computer savvy, but some of the apps and things we use require some instruction. Just because you've used a computer doesn't necessarily mean you'll be instantly familiar with all things computer-related. That said, all of our in-person courses use paper and pencil tests (some Scantron, some not), so that part was not credible to me! I did worry, though, that his mean classmates would tease him about Tina's visit. I was surprised it went the other way.

I got FJ, but I had to a) do the math, and 2) think about it. The correct response came to me in the nick of time. I apparently missed the explanation for the blanket category -- I didn't get electric or weighted either, although I feel like I should have. I did, however, get the TS of hibiscus, duvet, Grenada, Stone Temple Pilots, Massachusetts, and misappropriation.

I saw six of the ten nominated films -- EEAAO and Banshees twice each. In the theater. I loved both of them in different ways, and was thrilled with all the wins for EEAAO. I did hope for a Banshees win for Score, as it was just perfect and beautiful. The Whale reminded me a LOT of Leaving Las Vegas, but with food instead of alcohol. Brendan was so good with the face acting. I'm not sad he won, but I would have loved to have seen Colin take it for Banshees. I thought Cate Blanchett was amazing in TAR, but that was a tough movie. Too many odd cuts and, while I do like "show, don't tell", there were bits where they did neither, which made it effortful to watch. Top Gun was fine. Nice action movie, especially when it became OG Star Wars. The Fabelmans was fine, too. Any other year, and it probably would have been at the top of everyone's list. It checks all the right boxes. I likely won't ever see Avatar or All Quiet, or Triangle, for that matter, but Elvis is on my DVR.
