Congrats again to Kyle! Middle guy was okay, but end woman's giggling like a five-year-old started wearing on me after the first incident, during the interview. Fortunately, she toned it down during DJ. I are an idiot, and did not get FJ -- again. And I have lived in Virginia almost all my whole life! I know history is not my strong suit, but you'd think I'd know something about famous Virginians! And this is why I won't try out for Jeopardy! Ever. Not because I'm afraid I'd be bleeped. Ahem. I may not know anything about history, but I apparently do know wine -- Rothschild was an easy TS for me. I also got clang clang clang, La Scala, and Joseph Priestly. So far for the week, I'm 1/3. Bring on more cartoon characters! LOL ETA: Didn't Kyle get a "good for you" sometime during the game in addition to during the interview?

Woo hoo! An FJ I actually knew! And can spell correctly! Congrats to Kyle for another win! Saturday morning cartoons help with other things besides the dreaded opera category! LOL Emily's askew collar bugged me, too, @CarpeDiem54. And Raymond was a leaner, so I'm extra glad Kyle won again. I also got Hershey (how could they miss that? Unless they don't know that Lancaster and Hershey are in PA), schoolteacher (not too many other career options available for women back then), and Thebes. I'm embarrassed to admit that I missed Italy for the Etruscans clue. Boo, hiss.

This is the only time I think I've ever wished I'd been spoiled for the ending of a film. I was not emotionally prepared for the Charlottesville footage. It's just a little too close to home (literally -- C'ville's about a two-hour drive from here), and it's still pretty raw. That said, though, I really liked the movie a lot. I didn't recognize Topher Grace at. all. And Ron Stallworth's "white voice" reminded me of "Sorry To Bother You" (another film I really liked!). I'm sure the filmmakers took lots of liberties, as they always do, but I'm looking forward to reading the real story.

I also will admit to singing “The Love Boat” just like the contestant did. I probably would not have done so on national TV, though. :)

The answers had to start with "H", so abracadabra wouldn't have worked.

D'oh! I probably missed FJ because it was Steinbeck. I despise Steinbeck. I know, that is a terrible excuse, since I've heard of the book, but, oh, wait! I know! It was before my time! :) I actually laughed out loud when Kyle got the Colorado state song for his DD. I also chuckled at Alex's comment about his George Clooney/Sean Connery beard. And despite missing FJ, I did get dust storm, McMaster, The Supremes, and pika. I love pikas. They're adorable.

I adore Connie Britton, but I'm not sure about the pattern on the dress. -

I apparently have a thing against feathers on dresses -- I really don't like Penelope Cruz' dress, and I think it's because too many feathers. -

Is that part of a suit of armor Laura Dern is wearing? It looks like a chest plate. -

Keri Russell's dress looks like it's three different dresses sewn together in a bad way. -

Yes, Colin Firth is in it, but isn't it more of a sequel than a remake? -

It does seem, well, less than it has in the past. I can't stand Sarah Silverman, so by association, I can't stand her dress. OTOH, I probably wouldn't like it on anyone. -

Apparently Giuliana didn't get the memo about the pronunciation of Chrissy Teigen's name. :) And Chrissy looks very shiny. Or maybe she did! Letitia is so cute! Her hair is great! I just wish she'd worn a better dress. -

Not a fan of Michelle Dockery's dress. Letitia Wright should have raided Shuri's closet. Enough with the product placement, Guliana. -

Constance Wu looks all bondage-y, and I'm not sure what happened to Tina Fey. Good grief! Tracee Ellis Ross must have fallen into a vat of fluffy Pepto Bismol. -

I don't expect I'll watch the ceremony. I don't even know who's hosting, and I don't/can't watch most of the shows that have been nominated. Trevor Noah looks fab!
