  1. I hated the ceiling here too. I noticed that they never showed a full shot of how it turned out (or if they did, it was so brief that I missed it.). I think it made the room look short. I constantly wonder, while watching shows like this on HGTV, how people can stand to have so much tile in their homes. Those showers and backsplashes seem to me like they would be a nightmare to keep clean. In certain parts of the country, all that grout would be a magnet for mold. Ugh!
  2. I laughed at Rush guy (whom I usually hate) and his fake CDL (truck-driver's) license. And his "It was taken when I was heavier. And more Asian."
  3. I agree! When they said it elevates the brand I looked up for a second, wondering if my DVR had switched over to Top Chef. They are always trying to elevate their dishes over there. Bwah ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!! Your comment made my day!!! I loved the bone effect they achieved. I wish I could have seen this in real life. On camera it possessed a great luminescent quality. The face makeup, however, was disappointing and was one of the cakier looking makups this week.
  4. Thanks Maelstrom! She sure is a striking model. I like your idea to do an epi focused on the models! Some of them have been with the show since season 1.
  5. So, I was wondering who would be lucky enough to get the model with the really big eyes who is often featured on this show (sorry I don't know her name), because she had the perfect eyes for these dolls. I think they even made her a doll on at least one other past season. They didn't have her there though, which really is more fair in this challenge. It would have given an advantage to the team who go her. Her eyes and features resemble one of these dolls to a "t." I thought a lot of the makeup looked caked on the models last night.
  6. I agree. I have been grumpy about the fact that they will give Raj a date or two, then there is an off-screen breakup or they just ignore the fact he had a connection with someone. That has been another missed opportunity. I think the audience would relate better again to Raj if we saw more of these interactions. I wondered this as well. I assume it was, but they glossed over that so quickly, it was hard to tell.
  7. I liked Nicole Kidman's dress too grisgris but, like you, I am a sucker for anything green, especially emerald or kelly green.
  8. If they had made it an hour-long episode, all the cameos would have fit in better.
  9. @Indy that is interesting about the cold lab. Makes sense though. I also agree with you that I am surprised that some of Penny and Bernadette's fashion sense hasn't influenced Amy more. In fact, it's irked me, because her original frumpy wardrobe was inherited from her grandmother, and it was implied that she was just frugal. Now, she goes shopping for new clothes with the other gals, but still buys the same old grandma-inspired looks. I suppose anyone can change, or that it could be that she knows this is what Sheldon likes. Well, not what he likes, but what he's used to, and he doesn't do well with change. In last night's episode he told her to put her glasses back on because she looked weird.
  10. The ex-girlfriend summit was a missed opportunity. There was just so much more they could have done with that. Howard was the only funny one in that scene. I did like that the deaf Emily still seemed like a gold digger when describing her new man. They should have had Raj grow a bit more out of that experience. They also didn't acknowledge that he was dating Emily 2 and Sci Fi girl at the same time and that's why they dumped him. I thought they were going there a couple of times but then they veered away. This show is best when there is a sense of joy to at least one of the storylines. This episode was just joyless.
  11. This was better. (Still not good, but better!) Margaret was less crude and actually, to my surprise, made a couple of fashion comments and used some terms of the trade (sorry, it's too many days later for me to remember them). Nene was a bit toned down. I still wish the show would axe them though. I wish they had included Mayim Bialik in the section on striped dresses (though I'm glad they actually had a section on the striped dresses!). Her fashion is not cutting edge, because she adheres to certain religious tenets involving modesty, but I kind of liked her dress and I applaud beautiful modesty. I'm not a total prude, but I really really hated so many of those crude dresses. They were distracting in that they turned into a game of "try to find the nipples" instead of beautiful fashion to be admired. I hated Taraji P. Henson's dress most of all for that reason.
  12. This was a great episode. First, they had a contestant from my state of Wyoming. Wyoming people never make it onto t.v.! Too bad he was eliminated first though. I wondered if we had any bladesmiths in our state, and now I know. Second, I loved the first challenge with the mystery metals. That was a new twist and really showed off the skills and ingenuity of the contestants.
  13. I think they probably end up in the garbage. Figure the blades used aren't sterilized between tests. Also, the carcasses don't seem like they're in any condition to be cooked. What if they gave them to the nearby gym to be used as punching bags, ala Rocky? I always think it's such a waste that these piggies must be tossed after the chopping.
  14. Just for the record, I love Glenn, including his appearance. I too love those who can engage in self-effacing humor. I'm with @Maelstrom, sometimes Glenn's hair is the most interesting artistic thing on the stage during judging. Love all these judges and how they mentor, hire and support past contestants. @Sourpickles, so glad @Quilt Fairy knew how to get you those links! Enjoy!
  15. This answered the question for me too. I've always wondered about that. I bet it's a real pain when a contestant has to reforge a broken or flawed blade, as both had to this episode. Me too! I hope he comes back. You know, as you do... :) I want to know who comes up with these crazy tests?! I love them, but they make me laugh.
  16. Thanks for this! I was wondering myself what each of the judges did as a main career.
  17. Guess what @sourpickles?! I just looked at there is indeed now a Forged in Fire Forum!! I'm zipping over there now. Please join me! Is it just me, or does Glen more closely resemble a werewolf each season? I love him, but I have to ask.
  18. Hey, I watch Forged in Fire too! A friend got me into it last season. Like that one too for its lack of snarkiness and interesting subject matter. I wish that Face Off would have one beauty makeup challenge and one old age makeup per season. (Although I love the monsters, etc.!) I truly enjoyed the long-ago challenge where the artists had to do their own old age makeup and see if they could fool their family members in a store.
  19. Yes, they did, and I was surprised they left that in after editing. I counted at least two more teams from the same seasons. Ben & Evan probably just didn't know that, and the editing monkeys didn't have enough other talking heads from them to use. Yay, my very favorite show is back! I too like the new format, and to my surprise, actually like the team setup this go-around. I didn't recognize everyone, but did recognize more than I thought I would. What I didn't recognize, was most of the contestants' past work that they showed. And I've seen every show since season 3! Guess my memory is mush. I love this show so much though, and appreciate that they don't pit the contestants against each other in a snarky manner. I agree with the poster above who said it's like the Great British Baking show, for both the reason stated and the fact that this doesn't encourage people to be jerks.
  20. Amen to all of this. Also, did they just forget that Eric is a U.S. Senator? I enjoyed the metaMorgans. Thanks to those of you who pointed out that the customer at the end was the actor who played little Josh on BMW. I just thought it was weird and kinda random when I watched it. I liked the tie in with "Belgium 1831."
  21. Wow no comments yet three days after airing? Tells you how unpopular this show is. Why am I the only idiot watching it? :) I just had to comment that I am ticked off that no one calls these people when they are emotionally abusive, or disrespectful. Then again, that would be most of what's aired on the show. What particularly angers me is the way that skinny loser dude (sorry, don't know names of these jackasses yet) talked to his girlfriend, the twin. Maybe her twin is rude, but I think she has a point, this guy is disrespectful and needs to grow up. He called his girlfriend's twin a "ho" several times and no one told him that was wrong. These "doctors" are full of beans.
  22. Another little bit that made me chuckle was that it took the entire scene for Dr. Linda to peel her hardboiled egg, then Maze steals it. He did appear in the episode -- he was the jerk who threw the party in the very beginning. He dismissed Chloe and Lucifer.
  23. He's looked both dirty and greasy to me -- from the start. And needs a haircut. I've never liked that style on men, even when I saw it in the 80's. That being said, Milo the actor is awesome. I have always loved Mandy Moore too --and Gerald McRainey, and they didn't disappoint here. At first I thought that Randall might have been a few days old when he was left at the fire station. Then, they purposely had the firefighter's wife say that he looked like a newborn baby and he should take it to a hospital. We don't know that Randall's mother died in childbirth, do we? I just assumed that she died from a drug overdose, but that could have been later. I would love to see more of what happened between William and Randall's mom.
  24. Agreed! In my area in the 70's and 80's we said someone was a fox or was foxy. We also wore our hair feathered here until mid 90's.
  25. I agree -- I'm enjoying the extended episodes and they really do enhance the plot.
