GH History Lessons: Because History is Always Repeating Itself
KerleyQ replied to Stinger97's topic in General Hospital
McBain was wasted on that "let's recreate Caleb and Livvie" thing with Sam. He had an insane amount of chemistry opposite Anna. -
Spoilers and Speculation: Clink Boom and Cheese Fondue

I don't think that Scrubs will get a lot of on air play, but I do think that it's still likely that whatever they do will rile them up, even if it's just based on how dismissive of Robin the show is while painting Patrick as being head over heels for Sam. -
I thought I heard that, too.

Spoilers and Speculation: Clink Boom and Cheese Fondue
KerleyQ replied to BestestAuntEver's topic in General Hospital
There are two things I can think of (although how either would work, who knows, but that's never stopped Ron before...) 1 - Nathan is somehow the one responsible for saving Georgie. How that would work would depend on what medical issue she has. 2 - Spinelli and Maxie are such utter shits to him that he comes out looking like a good guy by virtue of how awful they are to him. Like I said, I don't know how either would work, but those are the only two ways I can think to make him look better in the given circumstances. When they say it's more than one fan base war, it makes me think that we're not just going to get one war. If this is definitely about GH, my guess is we're going to get some story line where we end up with Scrubs/Samtrick/JaSam/Liason all battling, maybe with some Jarly and Carson thrown in and maybe, maybe, some LiRic. Of course, let's be honest, we all saw that being how things shake out anyway. I can't imagine that that would be a re-write. They've clearly intended to do this all along. -
Exactly. Not to mention, Sonny would have (and did) tell him to stay away from AJ, because he was bad. So Michael wasn't really in a place where taking Sonny's opinion of someone as a valid, logical statement. Add in that Sonny wants back in his good graces, and why would he listen to him. Plus, as far as he and others knew, the imposter Luke had already been busted and the real one was back. So he probably also had the "yeah, this is old news, Fake Luke has already been busted" thoughts. I don't blame him one bit for not listening to Sonny, and I think it's beyond a stretch to try to claim he's somehow responsible for Fluke's actions. As an Illinois resident, I've seen more than my fair share of various levels of corrupt Governors. But this shit? Would cause me to stroke out. The pardon is bad enough, but the Governor showing up at Sonny's side in the hospital, gushing over how pleased he is to meet him, etc? Oh, hell no. If you are that wrapped around your annoying daughter's little finger that you just HAVE TO pardon the guy, you do that pardon begrudgingly and through a staff member who makes sure to drip the exact right level of disdain at being in his presence. You condemn his crimes, all of them, you tell him he's going to be on a short leash and that any further crimes will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, so take this pardon as a chance to turn over a new leaf or don't expect any lenience if you don't. Do something to show that this guy is still a criminal who isn't going to be revered as a saint for taking over on the 1/2 yard line after Michael picked off an end zone pass and took the ball 99 1/2 yards. Oh yeah, we'll be expected to believe Sonny paid his debt to society by serving a couple months in prison before committing a new crime or two to escape. By the way, can one character please point out that Sonny was dumb enough to not figure out how to toss the bomb into the water without jumping in with it? Come on, Tracy, we need you here! Oh, and wouldn't Nathan, Lulu, and Tracy all look side-eyed at any information Dr O gives them? They should have wanted any other GH staff member to run and oversee these tests.

I have an irrational dislike of AF, so I would be beyond disappointed if Amber shows up again. -
I would believe that if he hadn't been perfectly willing to off Lulu (and, to a lesser extent, Lucas). I don't think, even at his worst, Luke would be OK with Lulu dying like that. If this is Luke, it has to be a DID situation or mind control. Since he seems to be equal to, if not above, Helena in the LoD power structure, I don't think it's mind control. So I'm going with DID.

It's disturbing that nobody said to Ron "hey, maybe you might not want to call your viewers idiots like this".
-
I can't imagine that there is any way that Fluke's rant in jail about all the idiots guessing who he is and being wrong, wrong, wrong, wasn't Ron talking about the fans trying to guess who Fluke is.
-
From certain angles, she looks disturbingly like Emily. My favorite part of today was Shawn coming in and telling Sonny that "Duke has everything under control," followed by a mental image of Duke back at Sonny's mansion, romping through a floor full of balls of yarn and catnip filled mice.

Dante telling Michael he needs to thank Sonny for saving him. Fine, Michael, don't go see him, send him an Edible Arrangement. Just don't include any of the chocolate dipped stuff. Chocolate is for people who didn't kill your father.

I wasn't around for it, but I can't imagine I should be anything other than thankful that they didn't re-air it. -

I think I would have found that whole painting thing unbearably cheesy if it was anyone else. But it worked for them. -

Exactly! If I was either of them, I would be yelling at him "I didn't cheat on you!" He invades their home, runs roughshod over them at work, and is just, in general, a real shit to them. Makes it really easy to choose Caroline's side. Steffy saying to Liam "are you dense?" had me laughing. You're just figuring that out? -

I think that last part is a big part of everyone's problem - Rick has screwed over everyone in his revenge schemes. It isn't just about Caroline and Ridge. -
Landon was pretty efficient.

The Michael "Sonny" Corinthos Non-Appreciation Thread

Now that he will, undoubtedly, be freed, I can't wait for the scene of Sonny and Duke each taking an end of Carly and stumbling to carry her up the stairs. -

Can the custody battle be ruled over by Judge Country, who takes one look at Sonny, laughs for five minutes, and rules against him as he's still wiping away the tears of his laughter? I fear we'll get Judge Cockblock, though. Because if hanging out with a cop is reason to keep a mother from her child, I assume that he lives in opposite world, and being a mobster makes for a fine custodial parent. -
Let's not forget the owner of the Port Charles Smug Championship, decades running - Carly. Her shit smells like roses, money, and a walk through an orange grove. Just ask her. I bet he thinks she was also totally cool with him banging her cousin before her body was even cold. I want a scene of GhostConnie just rattling off a list of shit he did that she wouldn't have wanted him to do followed by "but letting the bitch who killed me die is the one thing you decide I wouldn't want your worthless ass to do? Now go get a haz-mat crew to clean Michael's old apartment, you greasy fuck!"

I believe that Susie genuinely believes that it didn't happen. However... How long was Tonya passed out? Was Susie with Kenny and Evan the entire time Tonya was out of it? I can't imagine that Tonya has a specific time of the evening that it happened, given that she was probably really, really out of it. Susie may have been in the room with those guys for a big chunk of the night, but I'm guessing that, eventually, she went to sleep. It seems to me that there are at least a few cast members who seem to know that this happened. And the producers are not denying that it happened, they're more on the defensive of trying to push responsibility for the incident back on Tonya's shoulders. I doubt much goes on in those houses that the crew doesn't know about or find out about. If this didn't happen, the show would have come out swinging with that. They have those houses wired with cameras. They know what happened, and now they're trying to deflect responsibility to cover their own asses. And they haven't had Kenny or Evan back. I'm sure that people like Susie and Johnny would like to believe that their friends didn't do this. And they probably think back and say to themselves "I was hanging out with them that night, and I didn't see them do it." But people eventually go to sleep, go to the bathroom, take a shower, etc.

First, I have to say, only on soaps can we utter the line "he killed him first." OK, that aside, what Michael did (before it was retconned away) was the act of a messed up kid. It was awful, absolutely, but he was a child who was emotionally screwed up thanks to the adults in his life. Sonny is a grown man. Sonny promised Michael he wouldn't touch AJ. Michael is an adult now who has a more thorough understanding of all that went on in his childhood and the kind of crap Sonny (and Carly and Jason) pulled on AJ to keep him out of Michael's life. With that understanding, he wanted a relationship with his father, and grew to love him. I just don't see any comparison between what young Michael did and what Sonny did. And I don't think that Michael's confusion and messed up emotional state from that time in his childhood means he isn't allowed to care about AJ now.

And, come on, it's a girl child. I don't buy for a second that he's not perfectly content to let Kiki (and Morgan) do all of the work while he can just show up every now and then and remind everyone what an "amazing" father he is. The only reason I could see him legitimately wanting to assert his ownership of girl child is to keep her away from Ava. -
I've figured it out - Sonny could only be revived by Carly's tears because her soul is dark and evil enough to produce the elixir that can save his equally dark and evil soul.

So...not only will we have Sonny the hero, but now Carly will be bravestronglovewithherwholeheart amazing because her pure heart and love for Sonny brought the town hero back from the dead? Jesus.
