Season 10 Spoilers, Speculation and Social Media
suomi replied to Galloway Cave's topic in Sister Wives
I feel sorry for Gabe. Kids can be mean, he comes from an oddball family yet he's popular and a good student. High school can be a meat grinder even under "normal" conditions. I am biased because we moved a lot when I was a kid, sometimes every year. Two or three years in one house was a long haul and there weren't many of those. My mom loved to get a house and reno it but she was never satisfied for very long. I hated it even when we sometimes stayed in the same school district because we left our playmates and homies behind - we were quite restricted as to how far we could walk or ride our bikes and the 'rents never were available for rides. I like Gabe; he seems like a nice guy. I see some Logan in him. -

So ... because Kody's name is on every property can we posit that he makes more money than the others? And IIRC a couple wives are on more than one property? That sorta rings a bell. Or do the names listed as owner(s) not reflect who provided the money? TIA -

I keep getting click bait for Kate Middleton wearing a fascinator. 😉 -
Yes, actually, yes she has. Last year. When she wasn't dancing on banquettes or tables. Aaaand it's Mueller Friday, bigly. Will we see them guesting on any shows tonight, this weekend? No, they have a Friday night gig. Priorities, LMAO. The biggest news story of the decade, possibly, and they will be MIA.

After my dad retired I met a bunch of his friends who went to Nogales across from Tucson and Los Algodones across from Yuma. After their first visits they wouldn't consider going anywhere else for crowns, root canals, and dentures. The cost was about 10% of US prices, the staff and the work were superb, no complications, no infections, no problemos. Pero mi padre, no. He went along just for the joyrides, los mariachis y las margaritas.

1) Cloaked under "saving them" lies "they died before the one true church was invented in 1830/they lived in a place where the missionaries didn't knock on their door/they never met any mormons so they weren't exposed to the truth" OR "to override the choice they made to reject the one true church which they were aware of during their lifetime." 2) Yes, it's what they're supposed to do. They are charged with saving everyone who lived and died before 1830 (which explains the importance of geneaology) and everyone who was aware of the church but rejected it by not joining. 3) Official credit, no. Pride, oh my, yes. Missionaries compete for body and soul count (converts) during their 2-year missions. They don't get prizes but they do get admiration. The majority of missionaries get zero converts in 2 years. A Returned Missionary (RM) male or female is the hottest catch and the young singles climb over each other to get at them. 4) A ceremony for each, but in an assembly line. Everything is done is assembly lines: baptisms, marriages, sealings. The marriages/sealings are on a bit less of a get 'em in, get 'em out basis because they are, well, alive but dilly-dallying is not permitted. Fundies don't do missions and they marry from within so there aren't any unbaptized ancestors that have to be chased down and proxied. So there a few differences between them and mainstream but not many. The fundies focus on anything to do with polygamy and blow off most of the rest of the teachings and the mainstream does the opposite, focusing on converting and proxy baptizing and acting like polygamy was just a phase that happened a long time ago - yet the afterlife is all about polygamy. In the old days it was easy to keep ceremonies and teachings a secret but all religions today are open to questions so if you insist on secrecy it backfires and makes it look like you're hiding something, like Warren Jeffs or the Moonies/Unification church or Jim Jones in Guyana.

Lupita Nyong'o is intelligent, talented and drop dead gorgeous. Looking forward to Willie's interview with her on Sunday morning.

Ari Melber up early and in da house! It seems like all the THs are on pins and needles more than usual this week ... everyone knows Mueller drops on Fridays but the anticipation level this week is off the chart. No matter which Friday it is, it'll happen after Joey and the Mrs crawl back in bed. 😉

oakville said: It started around 6 32 am. Joe was rating about Bob Hope, Rick Davis, Irving R Levine. Mika started squealing. Mika said she watched the Godfather movie. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Got it. It happened during the first hour but you wrote about it during the second hour. Keep up, suomi! I did catch The Godfather reference but missed a stunned Meacham. When they were taking movie suggestions on twitter awhile back to get TLR up to speed with pop culture, I recommended Godfather I and II. Very glad to know they're listening to me ...

Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)
suomi replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
The top-seller incentive cruise is free and includes lots of training - the transportation to and from is a business expense/tax deductible. Now, after reading some more online, I'm not so sure about there being other types of LLR cruises - but I can't figure out where else Maddie would be going for a week related to business. Maybe new-rep training takes place on dry land somewhere? -
How did I miss this? It's in the second hour and may not appear in the third hour highlight reel, dang it. I guess I was busy downloading a sample of and reading reviews of Mazarr's Leap of Faith: Hubris, Negligence, and America's Greatest Foreign Policy Tragedy. Between listening to Mazarr and the woman who was promoting The Last Column project, some of today's show was like the good old days.

"Like throwing in floor mats with a new car, except they didn't." Tip o' the hat to Willie.

Finally. With all the religious cant this week, at 6:25 they're getting to Pompeo saying he believes that 45 was sent by god to save Israel. IA with those who are saying that it's a ploy to prop Bibi ahead of next month's elections. (Let us not forget that Uncle Bibi once slept in Jared's bed).

I enjoy watching Natasha Bertrand. She is a linear thinker and an efficient speaker. I've never seen her stumble for words. (And she looks more like Kate Middleton than Pippa does). Bertrand + Jeremy Bash = a good way to start my morning. 🙂

There are only two ways around it: do not have a published obituary, and do not have any mormon friends or family members because they will drop a dime on you. They can't and won't resist the glory of saving your immortal soul. Many years back, before I knew as much as I know now, I was quite flattered when my nephew came to me out of the blue with all kinds of questions about my family tree - and I gave him reams of names, dates of birth and death, and where they lived and died. Four generations' worth. Right after he got what he wanted he reverted back to his standoffish ways. Later, after learning what I know now, I threatened him with unholy revenge from the atheist beyond if he proxy baptizes me but I have absolutely zero faith that he will respect my wishes. After my dad, my nephew's grandfather, died at age 93 I asked if he baptized my dad and I could tell that he was lying when he said he didn't. My dad belonged to the Methodist church and sang in the choir for 70+ years and my nephew knows that. Such a blatant and uncalled for display of disrespect! Last Thanksgiving - after not seeing or hearing from him since the August birthdays, and we live 5 miles apart - he called at 2pm and invited me and my sister for dinner, just as I was pulling our turkey-for-two from the oven. Which I took as a passive-aggressive backhanded invitation. What a little punk, right? I am leaving my estate to a family friend because I don't have any non-mormon relatives left. Karma!

As noted by SanDiegoInExile, the book excerpt mentioned that being moderator was in Whoopi's contract so, legally, she could and did stand on that. But given the circumstances I think it was big time "mean girl" that she refused to toss a few moderating crumbs to BW, the show's visionary and creator. See, here's the thing, I doubt that Whoopi needed input from a producer or anyone else to jump on taking that stance.

Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)
suomi replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
In Janelle's post up the page a bit she said she was staying with Axel while Maddie was away on a work trip. I do believe she is referring to Maddie going on her first LLNo cruise. It is that time of year !!! and IIRC Meri referred to it not too long ago. There are different categories and I can't see Maddie qualifying for the Incentive Cruise but there are others also, including one that is happening March 24-31. -

Tuned in just in time to see Joey conducting evangelical catechism and asking, with relish, "Do you accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior?' while Tits LaRue purred like a kitten. Click.

Mormons are big on supporting each other's MLM/pyramid schemes. They rise and fall so fast it makes my head spin. First they're selling this, then it's that, then it's the next thing and on and on it goes. Why follow the latest trends by giving your money to a gentile stranger when you can give it to Sister Smith in the ward? Stay tuned, in a few months she'll be selling something else. The LLR founder has mormon somewhere in her pedigree and that's all it took, honestly. The first item was a long skirt suitable for wearing to church - bam! Add the factor that the name comes from combining the names of her granddaughters and OMG, For Cute! Two billion dollars later ... SMH. I've seen a lot with them but nothing like LLR. Their culture glorifies the SAHM and that's who LLR targets. After the collapse, I hope the owners end up serving federal time.

Beto raised $6 million in one day. Even tho they flogged Joey's rancid music every day on this parody of a news show their relentless promotion resulted in a big, wet, sucky flop. Wha' happened to A New Album Release Every Month For A Year? ---> It lasted 2 months. Mika is not the draw at the KYV rallies or pep assemblies or whatever they're called. She relies on whoever she can dragoon into appearing at her tedious events. Tedious, yes. Because after all this time and all the promotion KYV is not even close to being a thing. --->These two mutts are the only ones talking about it. Envy? Oh yeah. Contempt? Indeed.

IMO Mitch's dad found it difficult to hide his distaste/disapproval because Kody and his wives live way far outside fundie norms, and blast it on TV. Kody"s "sacred marital bed" comment was fresh in his mind, as was the hamming it up/flashing his underwear while getting dressed. Me, me, me, I, I. It"s been rumored that the AUB gave the Browns the boot awhile back, Logan and Michelle live in sin and enjoy their whiskey, add Mariah/Audrey to the mix, etc etc. I think he is appalled by the Browns and wasn't able to hide it.

Much of the case for legalizing or decriminalizing is reasonable but there's no getting around the fact that the children who are eventually involved are the ones who need protection. I don't know how or if the rest of the world has dealt with it successfully - but the western world hasn't.
