I know a lot of people are hoping that Laurel is the one in the grave, but be careful what you wish for, guys. There are worse things they could do (sorry, I have Grease on the brain). If Laurel is the one in the grave (which I still don't think is the case), then maybe it's because the EPs have decided to add BM & son to the regular cast next season.(*) (This could be announced at SDCC 2016, with AH making a surprise appearance.) Possible scenario: Samantha and William move to Star City over the summer hiatus. Oliver & Felicity are still broken up. Or maybe he struggles with whether to give up GA vigilante-ing altogether in order to protect his son. In flashbacks, Oliver meets a Bratva member with a young son who's considering getting out of the business. Oliver betrays this member in order to protect Bratva and finds favor with the head Bratva guy, thus earning a position in Bratva (and completing his journey to the dark side). In addition, in an epic, game-changing shocker, we find out that Samantha has a metahuman ability (after all, she was living in Central City during the Star Labs explosion). So, by the end of S5, she becomes another well-known DC superhero and gets a mask. Hey, it's not as if Anna Hopkins has any other projects lined up right now, according to her IMDB page.

I agree that Oliver should make protecting William, his son and an innocent child, his top priority (with a caveat). However, that's not what Malcolm said to Darhk. He said that William was "who Oliver Queen cares about more than anyone in the whole world". That's what I found hard to believe, since he barely knows the boy. I mean, I understand that there might be a visceral emotional attachment to a surprise biological child. But this statement seemed over the top. (We already know that when the EPs write "cares about", they're really saying "loves' -- see 2x06.) OK, my caveat: Malcolm mentioned sacrificing his child for the greater good - which some have suggested might be a foreshadowing of the dilemma that Oliver might face: save his son or save the city/world?

Tatiana is now concerned because "it's like, 'You're going to kill a child?' Like, 'what is wrong with you people?'" -- They then talked about the "B story" of Felicty and her father. Craig said (and he could not stress this enough) that he liked Felicity "when she's not defined by her relationship with Oliver... I like when she's kinda doing her own thing." -- Tatiana said that they're getting married(?!) but then Felicity's not wearing a wedding ring in the limo(?!) (in the flash forward scene), so Tatiana's like, "I can't, I can't." Craig said that there's something that's going to go wrong "for sure". -- Tatiana said, "F**kin' Felicity, Digg, everyone is saying 'let's kill Malcolm Merlyn'" but Oliver's still trying to come up with a way to not kill him - ultimate backfire... like, you had permission from everybody, you coulda just killed him!" -- Now Tatiana is "so stressed out" because Malcolm could come in at any time and tell Felicity about Oliver's son. -- Craig said that now Malcolm's a free agent, he can do whatever he wants, even form his own League of Assassins. It's like, "we haven't given Barrowman anything meaty for awhile," so "here you go." -- Tatiana mentioned that "Lance showed up for about 5 seconds... like, 'I'm still here, guys.'" -- Craig said that the flashbacks were "their normal group of nonsense." Tatiana said that they're still implying that something's important going to happen on the island ("not at all") and that "everything on the island is awful... can we done with the island now?" -- Tatiana wondered how they're going to go from "clean-cut Ollie" to "hobo Ollie" with the long hair and beard. Craig said that they still have a year to go with flashbacks and said that maybe whatever mystical artifact they dig up could make his hair grow long. Tatiana: "Like Rogaine." Craig said that maybe that's what the bad guy is looking for on the island - a cure for baldness, "like a mystical Rogaine." -- However, they are looking forward to next week. Despite this episode, they got sucked in at the last minute with the marriage mention and Malcolm's reveal to Darhk.

Double Down's meta ability involved peeling cards off his skin and shooting them at people. Oliver has been shown to be fast enough to use his bow (or sword) to deflect arrows shot at him by Darhk (and Malcolm), so he should've been fast enough to deflect flying cards. League assassins have to fight all kinds of people, so Oliver should've handily defeated Anarky. It's just all for plot reasons. I originally thought it was because Oliver was trying not to kill. But he easily beat Malcolm (and Nyssa before) without killing them. Oh well, trying to apply logic to this show is just an exercise in frustration.

Hmm... that's interesting. A weakened Nyssa is able to hold her own with Tatsu/Katana ("we're too evenly matched") but not beat her. So I guess that means Oliver could beat Katana in one-on-one combat. In summary, Oliver is now able to defeat old Ra's, Malcolm (new Ra's), Nyssa and Katana - but he still can't defeat Anarky or Double Down by himself.

I completely forgot about Hawkman's death! I guess that's how forgettable he was... Caitlin definitely died and I think it was implied that everyone at the farm died (including Cisco):

I don't get that "final destination" theory because it only seems to apply to the Arrow characters. What about the Flash and LoT characters who were also killed in the original timeline and saved by Barry's time travel? Shouldn't they also get near death experiences on their shows as well? Oh right, Arrow is the only show allowed to go dark and have its hero suffer consequences.
