  1. I won't miss Joy-- the character was annoying from the start. I'm assuming she will be back with a baby by the end of the year? We got our first ever exterior shot of Rafe's house. It is much bigger than I thought it was. When Rafe first came to Salem (right before I started watching, around 2008), did he eventually share an apartment with Sami, then he ended up with that house? The Hernandez family is big (and seems to always be growing), so I guess he bought larger than he needed so he could house half a dozen relatives? Also, I think Jada looks very pretty with the straight hair, though it's a little on the long side. I wish they would let the actress put at least a stud in her nose-- the piercing hole is so obvious, especially when she's filmed from her left.
  2. Wow, I didn't even see that since I FF through the opening credits (though I do love that catchy theme song). Maybe I should stop doing that...
  3. Bugging/pestering/nagging people about private health screenings is a HUGE pet peeve of mine (a local hospital had a #AskHer mammogram campaign, which I thought was invasive and awful). The, in my experience, inaccurate mammogram "gag" of Joyce's "ouchie! this hurts!" reaction is one of the reasons women skip this screening, so the show did women a disservice with the lame joke. It would have been funnier if she had a line like, "See? Easy and gentle as usual!" then turned and bumped her head hard on an open cabinet, causing the robe to fly open again.
  4. So... I ended up not continuing to watch. I started the second episode, which, in the first few minutes, had the "gag" of pouring a beloved dog's ashes into a dirty deli bag and the "humorous" impregnation pillow joke. I have five extra hours of content to watch each week with CBS's new soap Beyond the Gates, so I took this show right off my DVR.
  5. 1000% yes! This was the only way I learned the character's names (and how to spell them). The CBS soaps' closed captioning was like this up to the end of last year, I want to say, and I miss that formatting.
  6. I think my favorite character so far is the male bartender that was blatantly eavesdropping on the Dani and Hayley fight. He was living for it! I actually enjoyed that scene the most because everyone at the bar was intently listening. Usually on soaps when there is a public fight, maybe one or two people glance over, look surprised, then go back to their conversations.
  7. Me too, but because of One Life to Live. I don't think I know any of the other actors on the show. Overall, it was a good pilot, and I'll keep watching.
  8. This is how I feel every year with Love Island USA- and that is 6 eps a week, each with a longer running time than 60 minutes. I'll probably end up watching a lot of BTG episodes on the weekends, or even Sunday nights, when I am usually light on shows to watch. I'll say again-- I'm so glad to see a new soap on a major broadcast network and the amount of publicity it is getting (I think I saw on Twitter that there is a huge Times Square billboard for the show). I've never watched a soap from the beginning, so this will be great.
  9. Maybe she's just keeping tabs on Jordan (Chrishell Stause). :)
  10. Love this!! I think Cady and Jon will bring even more eyes to this soap. Great news.
  11. I think I'm confusing all the SNL docs/specials and didn't realize what this was... I caught it on last night on NBC an hour in and recorded it. I remember watching the Ashlee Simpson debacle live (on TV, not in the studio!) when I was in college. Cringe!
  12. I get an upsell at almost every specialist appointment I go to-- dentist, eye doctor, OBGYN, etc. I even had one doctor try to get me to purchase intimate apparel from her husband's company. Charming!
  13. I didn't see it either. I don't think I laughed once at this episode. So much different than the pub trivia episode which was hilarious.
  14. Totally agree. Impregnating another girl would be a huge turnoff. I think Doug3 is too old for Holly, though. It took me a scene or two to confirm this is NuSophia. I thought the hair was just different at first. I usually watch the show with no sound and captions on (a habit I started when I had a sleeping baby on/near me every afternoon 17 years ago- a habit I apparently can't break!), so I couldn't hear if the voice was different.
  15. I went to my Verizon FIOs guide to record the BTS episodes, and they are listed as hour long Bold and Beautiful episodes. I guess they are doing this so anyone who has season passed B&B will automatically get these BTS episodes, too. (Kinda sneaky, honestly, but the more eyes on new soap content, the better.)
  16. We aren't supposed to think those diorama chairs were made by Harrison, right? When they stuck the chandelier to the ceiling, I laughed. Poor kid living in a museum. Let's see how Diane spruces the place up.
  17. Wow! I'm not a big behind-the-scenes fan, but this is a great way to "meet" the characters, storylines, sets. I'll be watching!
  18. Victor grimacing and telling Claire that his gunshot wound sometimes still hurts. Duh, yes, wasn't he shot like four days ago? Recovery will be painful, especially at his advanced age. I did appreciate him telling Claire to back off Kyle, that Kyle has an ongoing relationship (whether good or bad) with Summer, and she will always be in the picture. I get that Claire is so enamored with Kyle because he showed her kindness after being raised by Jordan, but, like Victor said, Claire has her whole life in front of her. Victor, voice of reason! I feel for Harrison, though his saccharine act gets old. He does have the self-awareness to realize even if his diorama portrays a happy household (hired help included!), his parents fight all the time and aren't thrilled to spend time with each other. Plus, the fact he will soon have a third mother figure and he's what, only 9? There will be many more stepmothers in his future, I'm sure, and I feel for him. Also, I liked the Victoria and Nick scenes. I buy them as siblings and I enjoy their calm, crisis-free scenes.
  19. Not sure if this is more appropriate for the "GH In the News" thread, but this came up on my feed and is adorable. Go Finola!! https://www.instagram.com/p/DFsw9Jdveg4/ I came across this version, too:
  20. Hands down, the best episode of the series. I was laughing at the quips and lines the entire time. Thank you for posting that that was Victoria's real-life sister. The resemblance was uncanny, and I figured if they weren't related, casting should get a raise for finding Palmer's look alike! I also didn't know that they starred on a New Zealand TV show together.
  21. Woo hoo, today's episode of Days had no ads for me! That's only happened a handful of times. Hopefully I'm not the only one? Happy Friday!
  22. I hope it's Finn. It would be deliciously soapy (but not as soapy as The Gates! The promos insist the new soap will be soapier than any soap out there! 🙂 ). Last year's brief conversation between Finn and Poppy about spending time together during his college years, then Poppy became pregnant shortly after, seemed to hint that he is Luna's father.
  23. Yes, Poppy snatching the box of donuts back made me laugh. I just like that the actress has ditched the wigs (at least for now). Her natural hair looks nice.
  24. I wasn't going to watch this season because I dislike all-stars/"celebrity" seasons of reality shows... then I realized I only really know one person, Chrishell Stause, from soap operas (never seen her real estate show). I've listened to Bella and Dorinda's Sirius XM shows, and the rest are unknowns to me. So I'll partake! Also, the visuals, music, and of course, Alan, drew me in right away. Let's go!
  25. And he like snarls and bares his teeth. Quite hard to take his anger/rage seriously.
