  1. I actually thought she was doing the opposite. Unlike the MF gang, Hope was acknowledging that both of her parents (Klaus and Hayley) weren't necessarily good people, but they were good to her. A very healthy perspective to have in a world like theirs, tbh. The MF gang always came off as needlessly self righteous when every single one of them (Caroline included) had done some fcucked up things themselves (except maybe Tyler and Matt, but I didn't watch past season 5, so maybe that changed?) all in the name of Elena ---and Elena for herself. I'm only watching this show because I liked Hope and I wanted to see where she'd be mentally in two years. She promised both her parents that she'd live her life to the fullest, but it's obvious that she isn't? I Also wanted to know what her relationship with the remaining Mikaelson clan was like. Does she stay with Freya and Keelin during breaks or Rebekah and Marcel? Does she bounce around between all 3 ---Bekah, Freya, and Kol? Lizzie's not just a mean girl. And she's made it clear that she's tried multiple times to be friends with Hope and been rebuffed each time. While it's not an excuse to be openly hostile to a person just because they won't be your friend, it fits with what we've seen of her personality. While Josie handles it rationally (she's polite enough to Hope), Rejection sends Lizzie into fits ---probably due to the mental illness that runs in her family. Alaric was doing good fatherly work by trying to give her calming techniques to use when she feels herself slipping. But he also needs to send her to a therapist. I'm sure there's a supernaturally knowledgeable therapist out there somewhere. I can already see where this love triangle is going ---Raf is gonna pick Josie...and then somewhere in season 5 pick Lizzie just cause. Or maybe JPleck will surprise us and Lizzie'll just move on to MG and the real triangle will be Penelope/Josie/Rafael. I could be down for that.
  2. How's he gonna feed her though? I mean...Lorna's been breast feeding her. Sometimes it's hard enough getting babies to take a bottle of breast milk when they're used to straight boob. Not to mention, shadiness aside, she's safer with the inner circle. Unlike the MU, the Inner Circle isn't in danger of being raided by Sentinal Services or the purifers any time soon. Their situation sucks. They're in a catch-22. Can't have Marcos just dropping by TIC headquarters for daddy daughter time when he's already shown that he's going to thwart TIC no matter what they're doing. (And freeing mutants forced into a mental torture hospital, not matter how selfish their motives, isn't a bad thing in the slightest.) I feel for Lauren, but....what was their end game here? If Andy, Lorna, Cuckoos (x2) hadn't called their bluff and actually stopped...then what? Clarice was right, they were beyond dumb for going in there blind and being all "We must stop them just cuz!!" Yes, Lauren was hoping to sway her brother back to their side but...it wasn't realistic and I think she knew that deep down. And what the hell at Marco planning on blowing up a car with his baby momma in it and a mutant they didn't even know! One that had just been kidnapped/saved from a mental institution. He Caitlin need to simmer the hell down. What was gonna happen to his baby then? TIC sure as hell weren't gonna send her back to him when Lorna died out of the goodness of their own heart. T I knew I was going to be team Inner Circle once they introduced them (I've always been more of a Scott Summers, in that #MagnetoIsSometimesRight), but this is....beyond. TMU almost come off as morally shaky as TIC without the benefit of an end game to explain themselves. "Because family" is not an excuse when there are people like you literally being imprisoned for no reason. Caitlin tho...baby what is you doin? This episode needed more Inner Circle. I wanted to see what happened in the hospital! And in 1 move, they were able to accomplish multiple things ---let the MU know that they're not playing around, gained support (via the Cuckoos forcing the doctors confession on film and releasing it on twitter? I think?), and got themselves another powerful mutant to join their ranks. Inner Circle: 1,000,000,000 Mutant Underground: -1,000 Also....Thunderbird brought a knife and an ax to fight against someone that controls metal. I mean...they asking to lose.
  3. "No way that cop would help Turner, just because his daughter “died” because of a mutant massacre." I think that look he gives Jace at the end of the episode is supposed to hint at something. Chances are, he also has a deep hatred for mutants and he's gonna show up again later. I kinda get both sides of the Polaris/Marcos custody issue. It's extremely f*cked up (I forget if cursing is allowed here) that she's keeping him away from his daughter when he desperately wants to be there, but I also get it? The Mutant Underground is not a safe group for their daughter to be with and with the Inner Circle she has unlimited resources. As a parent, that's where you'd want your child to be. Not living in dingy apartments with limited (or sometimes no) access to medical attention. In her mind, she’s helping build a world where her daughter doesn’t have to (for example) worry about people jumping her and cutting out her vocal cords simply because she was born different. Marcos and the underground are literally the antithesis of this. Their methods are to simply coexist and hope for tolerance one day. On top of that, they are blindly fighting the inner circle (without knowing what they’re end game is) just because Andy and Lorna went off with them. That’s it. At least with X-men/The Brotherhood, they’d sometimes join forces if their end games aligned. The Underground seems to lack that bit of nuance or even the competence that their predecessor had and it’s making it extremely hard for me to side with them on anything.
  4. "But even though I knew about Darius, color me shocked about Jay Jay. From Slavik giving Hannahlei the cold shoulder to Gennessy melting into a puddle on stage, I thought for sure Genessy was gone." I thought I was the only one that noticed that! He gave her the most lukewarm, half-hug...
  5. The only characters (outside of Spacekru) whose actions have made narrative sense this season are Indra, Abby, and Octavia (maybe McCreary and Vinsen too. Shaw is included in Spacekru). Abby's an addict and has always been a little wonky when it comes to morality and Clarke. Indra's Indra (and my all time fav). And Octavia is a sucky leader (which she knew she would be from the beginning). Even her burning the food made sense to me one they showed the dark year (though, one could argue that the flashbacks would've made more narrative sense during the food burning episode rather than Abby's detox). She didn't want to go back to being dependent on a method of nourishment that had failed them before and inarguably is the reason she lost so much of herself. Who was to say Monty's super algae wouldn't get corrupted and they'd have to resort to cannibalism once again? So her actions made emotional sense to me. Kane and Clarke on the other hand?...what's to stop McCreary from straight up murdering you after the war is over? Because he said he wouldn't??? This man is willing to kill the mother of his child. Who are you to him?
  6. Tyrone's powers are The Dark Force. In the comics I really liked it and am glad this'll be back around GOT time. Something to get me through the middle of the week.
  7. That was water garden stupid. If all they had to do to get rid of the hallow was die, then they should've done that last season. And the last white oak stake?! Why not just have them die from Marcel's bite. We've literally never seen it used against Hope or Klaus....or any other hybrid. Like...why would his bite kill a hybrid? Werewolf bites have never effected them before? I'm just....I like Hope, but no to legacies. Whenever Julie takes over one of the shows, you can always feel the difference and that's not a good thing. So why would i bother watching a show she runs from the beginning?
  8. I believe they've said that Legacies takes place two-three years in the future, since Hope will be 17-18, bringing the Saltzman girls up to the age Hope currently is now. Makes sense they'd recast older. Them making Marcel "Mikaelson" lethal had to be the most useless thing they've done on this show. He's been backburnered all season and, essentially, damseled as well. Everyone's always after him (bringing Klaus' warning about having a monopoly on power to Freya about the Marcel killing dagger last season all the more poignant.) I mean...yea. LMAO, poor Jackson tho... Elijah is on my "definitely gonna die" list. If he doesn't die, I'll be pissed because then what was all of the foreshadowing for? Not to mention Elijah actually has friends in the after life, while Klaus only has like...Cammie? Maybe Finn and his father too? Hayley too, I guess. They genuinely seemed to have a genuine fondness for each other now. oh! And note to everyone wondering about the afterlife that was supposedly destroyed? I believe Bonnie created a new one towards the end of TVD? Except in this one, all the dead creatures can reunite with loved ones. I could be wrong...(I only watched the series finale of TVD)
  9. Wasn't she dead for five years before the hollow brought her back? So she'd still be 20-something body wise (around the same age as the actress irl). On top of that people don't always look significantly older than 20-something at 30. In season 2 we learned that she tried to kill herself and her unborn baby to keep him from Dahlia. She succeeded in killing the baby but not herself...it's why she's so messed up about it.
  10. This episode was the first episode where I actually understood the Haylijah hooplah and a big part of that was that Hayley seemed more mature and actually like someone who's been a vampire for 15 years (unlike some of the TVD vampires who seemed stuck at the same age) . They were cute together. But holy hell, Elijah's dying at the end of this season isn't he? They were laying that "in another lifetime" "I'm waiting for our next dance" bits on kind of thick. And show, it's hard to sell the whole Hope is dying thing when we know that she has a spinoff premiering in the fall. Klaus is dying too isn't he? He's been way to nice and lowkey this season. And the desperation in his eyes while he's running around trying to figure out what's going on with Hope and hovering like a worried parent, I don't see him simply disappearing from her life if he isn't dead or trapped somewhere. But also aww at Klaus running around trying to put Freya's wedding together by doing regular Klaus things. and he and Rebekah were cute goofing around at the end of Freya/Keelin's wedding. Davina's matured too. And I'm always happy to see Kol
  11. Well, I loved Klaus and Hope's scenes last season, so if the episodes want to give me nothing but scenes of those two together, I'll be happy. Add in big brother Marcel and I'm over the top. The fact that Klaus keeps attributing all of Hope's good bits on Hayley (even if Hayley herself was could go on a revenge murder spree if the mood hit) makes me even more sad that this show decided to give us random romantic plot points instead of focusing more on Klaus and Hayley learning to co-parent. I say this in every episode thread, but I just love their journey from "I don't care if she dies"/ "He's an unrepentent psycho" to "I'll never let anyone take Hope from you"/"Your parents are wrong about you" to "Only I have Hope's best interest at heart"x2 to "I wouldn't trust anyone else with her"/"I know you've always fought for us" etc. The CW's insistence on romance is what keeps most of it's shows on the sup-par level they forever languish. All their more family oriented shows (JTV, Black Lightening, etc) are leagues above the others. And also get critical acclaim, you'd think they'd learn to mix it up. Didn't expect Josh to die, but yay JAIDEN! Poor Ivy saw what she was in store for. Love that, not only did Vincent not kowtow to Elijah, but he made sure that Ivy got the beautiful afterlife she saw for herself. Still like Elijah and Antoinette. I can't help it. But...wether or not she agreed with her "mother's" ideology, she was still more or less complicit. Kind of wanted Hope to kill Roman. He's too old to be as stupid as he is.
  12. I didn't see the final scene as us supposed to be feeling bad for Octavia, but understanding that she's putting up a front. Whatever happened during the dark year, she's still living as if it has a chance of happening again if she lets up even a little. She's scared and when she started lowering her guard even just a little, her brother poisoned her and her mentor turned her back on her. She's either going to be worse now than before or she's gonna start to crack. After all, this is a girl who didn't want the responsibility of leadership, but was more or less forced into it. And unlike the commanders of the past, she didn't have the wisdom of those before her to draw on. She's floundering. her character arc (along with Diyoza) is the most interesting to me this season. Putting the flame in Maddie's head as a means to stop a war was all kinds of dumb. They were just starting a war amongst themselves at that point; people who would still be loyal to Octavia and those attached to the old ways. A big misstep this season was not visiting in with each faction (Spacekru, Wonkru, Maddie/Clarke, Diyoza and dem)before smashing them all together. It makes since that Clarke would be loyal to Maddie; Bellamy loyal to Echo and the rest of Spacekru, everyone fanatically loyal to Octavia over their original 100 crew/Grounder clans. They've been with each other longer (6 years vs like the year or two that was season 1-4) and in isolation. Their bonds to their new groups should be strong than their bonds to their old factions. But they haven't taken the time to fully explore these new dynamics so everything feels off and rushed and nonsensical at times. And there are people who have pointed out how ludicrous it is that they're fighting amongst themselves instead of trying to coexist. But that's what happens when you have leaders that aren't willing to co-lead. The ideas behind this season had the potential to be as engaging as season 2 (arguably the best season of this show), but the execution is not there.
  13. I figured he was trying to get her to hear the conversation too. At first, I thought Tyrone was going to accidentally feed that kid to the darkforce. Isn't that what his powers do in the comics; eat people? I like Mina and hope she becomes more of a gray ally than a future enemy That ending kind of hurt. Poor Tyrone, watched two people get murdered in front of him (one being more self defense).
  14. "1. For the love of god, make Cloak's powers consistent. If he's suddenly reading everybody's fears when they touch him he should be reading more people's fears. He's being touched by a whole lot of people. When he's having sex with his girlfriend, that should be a horrifying experience for them both. As he's seeing her fears and she's getting sick." I think they were trying to show that Tandy and Tyrone's powers are connected. Since she was using her powers willy nilly, his got out of control. Especially since he can't control his like she can.
  15. I like her too. She's cold blooded, but it makes sense given her upbringing. And I like this switch up with Tandy being the street wise one and Tyrone...not so much. Tyrone's isolation on the basketball team makes sense to me. The school seems to be mostly white outside of Tyrone and his temporary LI(correct me if I'm wrong). My older went to a private school like that when he was in high school on a basketball scholarship. Long story short, my brother is very wary around white people. Not antagonistically so, but.... Put me down as also wanting the duo to finally get together. I hope this isn't like that other Marvel teen show where it took the characters an entire season to do the thing their show was named for.
  16. Remember the loosely followed rule that vampires got stronger with age? Vamp Hayley is younger than Josh and she probably half starved if not poisoned and we saw Greta destroy Josh. Not that much younger. Technically, Hayley became a Hybrid the same year Josh was turned, so they're the same age. Hayley's also more of a fighter than Josh (a highly motivated fighter, given her daughter's life hanging in the balance)and Greta was beating her. Hayley was dead regardless, Greta had her heart in her hand and already twisted it...Hayley's just a ruthless enough fighter (like Klaus; they've said all four seasons that Hayley and Klaus are as alike as they are different)that she was able to get the upper hand (no pun intended) long enough to take Greta with her.
  17. "So Bellamy with his 6 years of training beat the mighty Bloodreina when trained from birth Grounders couldn't." She was also fighting him one handed and having just gotten over an infection. So I don't know how much stock I'd put in that. I've always thought that Echo was an interesting character. Almost like Azgeda's own version of Clarke, willing to do anything to save her people. Her and Bellemy are all kinds of complimentary (and hot) as a couple, so she better not die. This show has done a great job at not caving into the fandom shippers' demands and focused on story (unlike other CW shows Cough*TVD, recent ep of TO, Arrow, et*cough) so it would be a shame to see that change now. Plus, they promised no love triangle this season. I'm getting more and more intrigued by what happened during the dark year. It seems to be what fundamentally changed Octavia and made her followers almost cultish in regards to them. Did someone mess with farm stations food supply, forcing Wonkru to turn cannibal during the wait to grow more food? Did Octavia feed them her baby? You've got me, show. I really wanna know.... And who's this family Nylah was talking about? Love Charmaigne. New I would once I saw who was cast as her (Unpopular opinion: I loved Carrie on Banshee. Bad-ass moms are my catnip)
  18. Daylight rings are spelled for specific vampires.
  19. Not to mention, he and his wife are the reason the hallow even started her comeback to begin with. He and his high horse get on my nerves more often than not. I'm more upset over the fact that I'll never get to see Hope, Hayley, and Klaus in a scene together again. Or the fact that Klaus and Hayley didn't share a single line of diologue. I didn't ship them, but their struggles to co-parent Hope was one of the more interesting aspects of the show. Klaus going from hyper-protective "Only I can protect Hope!" to "No one else but Hayley" was a great progression. The best relationships on The Originals have always been the non-romantic ones (The Mikaelsons, Marcel and Davina, Josh and Davina, Klaus and Hayley, Cammi and Vincent, etc). Caroline started to grate my nerves towards the end of my TVD watching days (I quit around season 5?), so I'm never excited to see her. Even less so since her involvement past letting Klaus know Hope was missing was pointless. Elijah snapped her neck and everyone forgot about her. If Hope and Klaus don't go on a father/daughter killing spree next episode, I'm gonna be pissed. Although, from the season 5 trailer, it looks like
  20. "I'm confused why Klaus didn't recognize Antoinette, or at least acknowledge knowing her, in Ne Me Quitte Pas? It appeared that Klaus had been hanging out with Nazi!Vamp for a while and Antoinette was always there. And he saw her come out of the house. I can believe, maybe, that Greta didn't spend time with them and, thus, he only saw her when he killed Nazi!Vamp. But Antoinette apparently was with them when they spent time together. " I can handwave it as he never paid much attention to her and it'd been over 90 years since he'd seen her. I myself get that "I know you from somewhere, but I'm not sure. Maybe you just look like someone I know" feeling with people I've met, like...two years ago.
  21. "I thought Hayley was a hybrid who could make hybrids." Nope. Only Hope and technically Klaus can make new Hybrids. But Hope can make them without the blood of a Petrova (Amara) doppleganger
  22. It isn't, but he still needs Elena's blood to keep his hybrids from dying. Hope doesn't. Speaking of....I wonder why they never touch on the fact that Hayley is obvi sired to Hope. Has to be. Or maybe they won't because she's her mother and was obviously going to be extremely devoted to Hope regardless
  23. "And you knew 12 year old (going on 8) Ruby was going to mess things up by trying to contact mommy. Ugh." Problem with the writing on CW's Supergirl is that I couldn't even be annoyed with Ruby. Alex annoyed me the most in that scenario. She just had to see Ruby, even tho Lena was (rightfully) hesitant to let her do so. Then she just leaves her (unpassword protected) phone out for anyone to thumb through it? Like....Brainy is right. There are no level 1 intellects in DEO. A true brain trust, they are
  24. Mon-el needs to go back to the future. This is getting ridiculous now. Lena was the MVP this episode. Dropping truth bombs all over the place. She was right, Supergirl literally has exactly one lethal weakness and it makes her sound like an asshole being outraged over this one thing when she's surrounded by humans that can be killed by millions of things. Supergirl (and Superman) really do have god-complexes. And so...Alex insists on visiting Ruby...and her visit not only helps Reign find Ruby, but also lets Ruby in on the fact that Reign is her mother. The very thing Alex has been lying to her about the entire time? I think I might really be done after this season.
