  1. I know that Brooke was out of town, blah blah blah but I feel like her "how could you do this, Caroline?" had been done to death a month ago by every other character on the show. As a viewer, I know that I'm over it. I hope that Linsey Godfrey has a speedy recovery. Thank goodness she wasn't walking with her baby! I didn't know that she'd had cancer at one point, too. Geez!
  2. I know this is an old post but I liked it. Also, I thought another squish name could be NICAGE (pronounced "Nic Cage"). I find that actor as creepy as this coupling so it works for me. :D
  3. Catching up and really enjoying this mess. I laughed out loud when I saw the label on the scotch (?) bottle. "Heureux", which is happy in French. Rick took a huge enough glass of that happy liquid, that's for sure. In my own world, I have to remind myself that Rick is not an alcoholic because I still associate JY so strongly with JR Chandler, who was definitely a raging alcoholic. Rick is just raging.
  4. A week is a short time to wait. We're still waiting for season 3 of Homeland! Most shows air at the same time in Canada as they do in the U.S.. A notable exception, though, is Eileen's other show (YR), which actually airs a day ahead of the U.S.! I've ever been able to figure out why that is.
  5. I haven't seen this yet (or the actual event) since we're a week behind in Canada (what the heck is up with that?). I can't wait to see it. Eileen is the reason I started watching this show. I've quickly come to loathe Brandi but I really enjoy Lisa Rinna and Eileen.
  6. Ivy's side eye and eye rolling today were Everything. I felt Caroline's heart breaking over and over yet all I could think was, "is Rick really worth all this?" i suspect that Maya is in for a rude awakening. When it's over, she'll come shattering down to earth. I hope Rick ends up alone.
  7. Frank was a bigger douchebag than his dad. I didn't think that was even possible. No-name detective lady taking Jamie and Jenko to task and then getting her ass handed to her by a 2-dimensional mom who "wasn't happy" with her felonious son and drunk husband? GMAFB. Danny as the Reagan that offended me the least? Is there some kind of shift in the universe? Is up now down? Is black now white? I am so confused.
  8. Thank you so much for saying this, RuntheTable. The work that you are doing in your community, with your colleagues, is exactly the kind of thing that warms my heart. Know that you *are* making a difference and making someone's life better with your acts of kindness and compassion.
  9. This episode was really touching and moving. I'm a new viewer and truly appreciated this. Do they do this every year? It resonated with me very much. Each of these people showed real bravery and dignity by speaking about their experiences. I think it's really important to show the real people who are marked by poverty and homelessness, and to lift away the stereotypes. Please forgive me for going off-topic, but I'd like to explain why this episode touched me so profoundly. I left home at 16 due to an abusive home life. I dropped out of high school and struggled on my own for about a year and a half before I got an apartment in subsidized housing and went on social assistance. There were many times I was close to becoming homeless. I also used food banks for a while. I lived in social housing for about 10 years and was able to return to high school and go on to earn 2 university degrees. I am so thankful that my life is much better now. I became a monthly donor to my community food bank. Earlier this month, I did an interview with local TV news to talk about my experience using food banks and what it was like during that time. It was part of a week-long series about the food banks in my community and the people that use them. It was not an easy thing to do but my objective was to help take away the stigma associated with poverty and food bank usage. Also, if I was able to encourage one person to reach out for help or motivate someone to donate then it was worth speaking out. Mods, if this is too far off-topic please delete this and accept my deep-felt apologies. I'd like to wish everyone the very best of the Christmas season.
  10. That was the most sorrowful rendition of the "Hymn of Joy" (joyful, joyful, we adore thee) I think that I have ever heard.
  11. I like that this show supports the humane society but I'm confused by the message on today's episode. My local humane society always discourages people from giving animals as a Christmas present. I hate Myrna. I just want to wipe that smirk off her face. That stupid look on her face when she and Rick went to the mission was enough to make me want to reach through the TV and slap her hard. That expression made me think she feels superior to the clients of the mission. DIAF Myrna!
  12. So, Hope wants a little sympathy because she's still pining for Liam. GMAFB. This situation is entirely of her own making. She needs to live with her choices.
  13. Very true, and I agree. Wyatt should never have married Hope since he was clearly her consolation prize. He should realize that she has never loved him. It's sad that he thinks she does. Clearly she doesn't and he has his doubts. If he was secure in his relationship/marriage, then he would even consider resorting to his mother's tricks to keep Hope. Frankly, she's not worth keeping.
  14. Wyatt is an insecure slime ball who is clearly his mother's son. He should believe in his relationship with Hope. His jealousy of Liam is so unattractive and pathetic.
  15. Rick is acting like a child. Saying "I'm CEO!" over and over again and stomping his feet when Caroline tries to talk to him doesn't make him look good, IMHO. Making Maya "lead model" is just so obvious and petty. He's vindictive and petulant. Clearly Eric is not in his right mind if he thinks appointing Rick is a sound business decision. Rick is motivated by revenge and it's so pathetic. Rick's insistence that Caroline and Ridge are having some kind of affair will ultimately push them together. When Rick wises up to Maya's (so ridiculously obvious) tactics and manipulations, it will be too late and he'll end up alone. I don't want to see Caroline with Ridge. I like their mentor/mentored vibe. I like how they work together. I think Caroline can do better than any of the Forresters (although I don't know who else there is). Maybe she should just be a strong independent woman for a while.
  16. I like the one hour episodes, too. Much less repetition. I still watch out of the corner of my eye and miss things but at least it's a shorter episode. :) Can someone explain what Blake was wearing on her feet? They looked like air casts. Rob and Lori can go any time. There are other contestants that I actually like but I still can't be bothered to remember all of their names. Sigh ...
  17. When John Ross called Pambecca a whore, all I could think was "takes one to know one" I like Bobby and Sue Ellen's loyalty to each other. I liked when John Ross took over the pouring of the drink from Sue Ellen (and Ann was a real insensitive ass for asking a newly recovering alcoholic (sigh, again) for a bourbon, even if she did just go through a terrible ordeal). John Ross crying in the elevator: he is his mother's son trying to live up to his father's legacy. The look Judith gave over her shoulder as she walked away on John Ross' arm was Everything to me.
  18. I'm a new-ish viewer and never saw the Maya/Rick romance. I saw Caroline only when the actress was pregnant so I don't know how mean she was to Maya. It seems that her messing with Maya's name is pretty stupid and a thin reason for Maya to have her nose so out of joint. I remember Maya actually saying she that wanted Rick back for his money so I'm having a hard time buying her "I'm so in love with you" act. She's so transparent that I'm not remotely interested in it. I suspect that I'm in the minority because I like TKRidge. TK is why I started watching this show. I like Ridge with Caroline. I hope they don't become lovers but of course they will and I think the actors will sell it (at least to me). $Bill called Liam's home the "Mauso-Liam" and I chuckled. $Bill is such an ass. Wyatt is the biggest douchebage. He is also so completely insecure I can't understand how anyone would find him attractive. He clearly is "single white female-ing" Liam's life. It's pathetic. While I think that Liam standing his ground is understandable, the question/point I have is: Liam and Wyatt are both grown men with jobs and their own money. It seems ridiculous to me that they would even want to have their father be their landlord. Buy your own houses, dammit! P.S. If Hope is okay with moving into that house, then I will lose all respect and, well, hope for her. It's all so twisted and wrong.
  19. I haven't watched in many years. I usually try the first couple of episodes but check out because I end up not caring about the contestants or the trainers (Anna Kournikova). I'll give it another shot but can't predict how long I'll stay in this time, I hate the voting table. I agree with the others who posted "red line or die!" The sand challenge was uncomfortable to watch. The new trainers are not bad but Jessie's team had low (by BL standards, anyway) numbers and that can't bode well for the contestants on his team. The way they pan on Jen's rock-hard body is a little distracting. Sad to see Zina go because she was so positive and very determined. Hate the "I'm the youngest" chick. I expect to see much whining and excuses from her in the future. I hope to be proven wrong. I also hope that none of the mom-aged women try to mother her. Other dislikes: Sob stories so early! One person on crutches on day one! The vomiting. Making the women wear sports bras and the men have no shirts at the scale.
  20. I think that even if Liam had sent a text message to Hope in time, she would have found some excuse or loophole or some reason to not believe it was from him.
  21. Sami's looked beautiful in that red dress. Abby is clearly punishing herself by raiding her mother's closet for the ugliest pants ever. Jordan's shirt was a weird combo of the worst of the 1980s (dusty rose) and the 1990s (midriff) What is it with the women on this show wearing dark-coloured bras under light shirts? The latest victim of this affliction is Kate.
  22. Re: Will and Sonny waiting for pizza delivery. What I'd like to know is who orders dinner and then goes into the bedroom? Wouldn't they want to be uninterrupted? They deserved to be interrupted by Sonny's mother.
  23. This is the best description ever. I also wonder who would waste their time judging Paige. She's just too boring to give a crap about.
  24. So, Eric is a Catholic priest? I'm not Catholic so I don't know how these things work but wouldn't Eric not be allowed back into the priesthood because of all the red-hot monkey sex (RHMS) he was having with Nicole? Even if he was <Ross from Friends>"on a break" </Ross from Friends> from being a priest, isn't celibacy an important part of the job? If all he's ever wanted to be is a priest, wouldn't he continue with his vow of celibacy?
  25. That photo shoot was so lame! There were so many tourists in the background! So much for high fashion. Chickenhead looked especially chicken-like standing there grinning like an idiot. Who was the woman standing next to him? She looks like his sister. Quinn steals a motorcycle/scooter at the airport and the speeds away yet nary a hair is misplaced? GMAFB Liam! Just send Hope an effing text message. What a mess.
