  1. I started using this recipe for shampoo. This is the aloe gel I use. I've been playing around a little bit with it. Instead of making coconut milk (which is just water and shredded coconut) and then blending with aloe gel, I make coconut milk with shredded coconut and aloe. Saves a step and I don't have to freeze the shampoo as the recipe suggests. Still keep it in the fridge though. It sounds like a lot of work, but it's really not. The mayo mask I use is just homemade mayo with a few drops of essential oil to cover mayo smell. I leave it in my hair for about 30 minutes, then shampoo out.
  2. I gave up store bought shampoo more than a year ago and my hair has never looked or felt better. I wash my hair 3-4 times a week depending on how much I sweat and use a bit of oil (coconut or avocado) as a leave in conditioner. Once a week I'll use a mayo (homemade) mask, wash my hair as usual and do an acv rinse. Mask/avc days I don't oil because it makes my hair feel greasy and heavy. Has anyone else switched or tried making their own hair products?
  3. I held off watching cuz I knew it was done. I'm sad this show didn't catch on. I hope the actors find something new soon.
  4. Seriously. JGL killed tonight. Mackie was fine but Levitt had way more energy and enthusiasm and it showed in his performance.
  5. I remember on the mother ship Tyler was able to take down Katherine's 500 year old daughter. So there is some precedent. Yet I still find it hard to believe. To be fair, I found it hard to believe Tyler could take down a 500 year old vamp. One of the things that has always bugged me about the writing for Rebekah is that she's always, IMO, been shown to be weaker than her brothers both physically and emotionally. She's never really seen as an equal as she should be. Seriously. This just never makes sense to me. The plot didn't need Rebekah to be daggered, for the umpteenth millionth time, in order to have her back in New Orleans. Also stupid, the incessant need by villains to make "witty" comments just before killing the protagonists, there by allowing time for the "heroes" to be rescued. Dude had the opportunity to kill Haley and Marcel at the same time, but nope, had to dramatically pause and quip. Though I did enjoy Elijah's comment to Marcel about taking out the trash. I keep trying to figure out what's so special about Davina. At least on the VD, you knew they were often looking for a Bennet Witch in particular so Bonnie being specifically targeted made sense. Here, in a city full of witches, it's always Davina that is targeted and I just don't understand why. I know in the first season it was because she was a Harvest Girl. But since then?
  6. Liv and Major do nothing for me. I found nothing hot between them. The actors just don't have the right chemistry for me to believe in them. It doesn't help that (for me) the actor playing Major is seriously lacking in charisma. Clive really needs to be brought in on the secret. I also liked Peyton, and the little we got of Ravi this ep. Still trying to decide if I like Clive's new partner. And I still have yet to decide if I like Blaine.
  7. I rented this yesterday because my mom and bro hadn't seen it. They were laughing a lot. Oddly, I found the movie to be funnier the second time around. I really do hope there is a sequel. Even my mom said she would go to the theater to see it if there was.
  8. Yes it was her mom, but I don't believe we've seen her before. I thought she might be Ginny's sister cuz the actress didn't look old enough to have a grown daughter. I'm rather sad that we are starting to get more info about the game and the other characters (though still too much NDW), and the show is about to end.
  9. I seriously dislike the aborted confession trope. Elijah was going to confess and Klaus told him he didn't need to and that it wouldn't matter, then he goes and throws a temper tantrum when he learns the secret. Dumbass. I like Haley and Davina as friends. I think they work fine together and it didn't feel like the writers were trying to prop Haley. Though I still think Davina comes off as a kid trying to play dress up. So after watching the ep a crazy idea popped in my head. If Elijah and Marcel's idea that Lucien and Tristan (and possibly Auroa) are indeed working together, I wonder if they have found a way to sever their connection to their sires and/or are trying to establish themselves as the new Originals/heads of the lines. ETA: It was nice to have someone concerned about Rebekah's safety for a whole five minutes. Then it became about Klaus.
  10. I really need Elijah to move on. I feel like this season is trying to show Haley is Elijah's equal, that she's as fierce/tough as any Mikaelson, but I'm just not buying. One word...YUM! DG/Elijah is an attractive man, but there is something extra yum about when he's elegantly dressed yet not completely put together. *snort* Thanks. Now I have this vision of a young vampire filling out info on Vampcestry.com. Question 1: Who is your sire? Question 2: What year were you turned? Question 3: What year was your sire turned And so on.
  11. I'm not team Michael but I am very Team Villanueva. They are the best part of this show for me. I'm so sick of love triangles. Plus, this show does not do a good job of balancing the two sides. Last season seemed to be more Jane/Rafael, this season seems to be Jane/Michael. I don't like how they keep playing up how Michael "knows" Jane, but never acknowledge that Rafael hasn't had the same time to get to know her. Michael had two "normal" years of the two of them. Rafael's had 9 months of crazy. Not balanced at all. If they are really going to do this triangle thing (damn CW), they really need to show both sides fairly. I really wish they hadn't done the Petra pregnancy story line, unless it turns out not to be Rafael's. I know this is a telanova but damn...
  12. You are not alone. I'm not going to lie, that totally didn't click for me until I came here. I still don't like him. I've finally decided it's the actor. Mute henchman was funny. I agree they need to stop with Liv/Major. They keep saying how Major is the love of her life but I just am not buying what they are selling. The two of them don't have the right connection to make me believe they are meant to be. Liv's chemistry with everyone else is good to spectacular. But Major? Nope. I don't need sizzling, burn my screen up chemistry but I do need to feel like there was/is something between them and I just feel like it's two people going through the motions.
  13. Too bad. I hope the cast finds new projects soon.
  14. I'm still watching too. I think the show has room for improvement so I hope it gets the chance to do so. Count me in the disappointed group wrt to the fight scene. Of all the things that make me shake my head at this show, wasting the opportunity to let the two of them shine is at the top. Speaking of head shaking...why did the NDW leave a number so he could find her, tell him she knew he would and then turn around and tell him not to find her?
  15. I can't say I'm a Haley fan, but I don't actually hate her either. That being said, I feel (after reading posts here) that I need to turn into a Haley defender. People comment on how stupid it was to try and take Hope from Klaus's protection. But everyone seems to be forgetting that Klaus and Haley both agreed to send her away for her own protection before, with Rebekah. And while Rebekah certainly could have defended against physical attacks, she wouldn't be much defense against witches. The difference then was they both agreed on it and they both planned it. Last season had them not communicating with each other so both parents were making choices without consulting one another. We have no way of knowing if Haley's plan could have worked. We also have no way of knowing if Haley would have kept Klaus from seeing Hope. Everyone assumes, but I don't recall it explicitly stated. Once the Mikealson's removed the Dahlia threat, who's to say Haley wouldn't have returned, or at least let Klaus know where Hope was so he could visit? As for Haley trying to replace Klaus with Jackson....seriously, which one would you want to raise your child? Setting aside the supernatural aspects for a moment, Jackson has been shown to be an honorable, honest, and all around good person. Klaus has been shown to be an immature brat and bully who throws often violent hissy fits when things don't go his way. I can't blame Haley for wanting to present the best possible role model to her child. A comment was made about Haley being selfish because she commented on what she had missed while being a wolf. I don't see this as selfish, I see it as human. Think about the military personnel stationed overseas, is it wrong or selfish of them to think about the things they are missing by providing service to their country? But they made that choice, Haley didn't choose to curse herself to wolf form. Klaus did that as retribution for what he perceived as wrongs against him and so that he wouldn't have Hope hate him for killing her mother. He didn't do it so Hope wouldn't grow up without a mother, he did it so Hope wouldn't hate him for killing her mother. That was selfish. ******************************* As for the rest...Davina is a brat who has no business being regent. At the very least, Vincent should be there as an advisor. I'm still not feeling Freya, and for me it's the actress. The character is fine, but the way the actress speaks bugs the crap out of me. I adore Elijah when he's not a love sick puppy. If they must give him a love interest, he needs to be with someone who's his equal, not a broken bird he needs to save. On a completely shallow note, there was a lot of pretty this ep, but for some reason Phoebe Tonkin really stood out as beautiful this ep.
  16. I thought they were pretty even throughout though I liked Tarji's first performance better. I will say though, after Brickhouse, Material Girl just didn't bring the necessary energy to tip her over the edge.
  17. I found this one boring. I ended up fast forwarding through most of it.
  18. *snort* I think you are forgetting one very important fact...Texas is a whole other country, so you are in fact "exotic". ;)
  19. Yeah, I have no words. Thanks for sharing the link.
  20. I haven't followed the making of this movie so I'm curious about the fuckery you speak of.
  21. I've totally been on the fence about seeing this one as well. For me, it's the younger characters that make it iffy. I went out to dinner with my dad tonight and the trailer for this came on. I told him I wasn't sure if I wanted to see it because the characters seem to young or I'm just getting old. His response..."Both."
  22. Not a bad ep. But my favorite parts were LL's face when he heard the song and saw Willie Giest in costume. Also when WG did that little hip move and LL was all "I never did that dance".
  23. I do think Alison was the clear winner. But I have to say, I did not expect Will Arnett to do the Lego Movie song.
  24. My mom and I watched this over the weekend. We agreed that it had potential and the visuals were good, but it was lacking something. Couldn't help feeling like there were scenes or explanations missing. Also, could someone please explain why everyone talks so damn low? It's not just this movie, (though it seemed really bad here), but various tv shows and other movies as well.
