  1. Carrie Ann said that since Sailor wasn't lifted by her partner, it wasn't technically a lift. She commented to Val on intentionally doing it to get around the lift police.
  2. I really wish the audience would stop booing the judges as soon as they say something negative. Once in awhile their comments are constructive, and sometimes they're accurate. The booing at everything is getting really annoying. But, at the same time, I wish the judges would be a bit nicer. These are not professional dancers out there and someone like Lamar has other issues to contend with. There's a way to criticize without being nasty, the way Len often is and the way Bruno sometimes is. Give these people some credit for putting themselves out there. I also wish Erin would stop taking digs at Len with every contestant interview. It's not funny and it's getting old. And I did not like her outfit tonight or that severe hairstyle. I don't know why season after season she insists on keeping that lousy hairdresser she uses. James is still my favorite and my pick to win it all. But boy did the band butcher my current favorite song, Shallow. What a nice surprise Kate is! I'm really enjoying her and am very impressed with how good she is. I would much rather see her in the finals than Hannah. Sorry, but I just can't get behind anyone associated with the Bachelor franchise. They aren't stars. You have to give Sean credit, he's trying and he's out there having a good time. He's not the best dancer and I HATE that they brought politics into this season, but give the guy credit for putting himself out there and having fun with it. Jenna is a terrible teacher and it's insane that they kept her over Sharna. I don't like when they give someone the jive so early, but the ones who seem to get by are the ones whose pros keep it simple. Jenna still choreographs for herself and I think she makes the dances too difficult for early weeks and puts in way too many steps for them to remember. I hate that we're stuck with her because of who she married. I love Rashad, that's no secret. And I loved that they had him come out and dance Ray's dance. But why was he in the "star lounge" the rest of the show? I could've done without the make-out session on the dance floor between Sasha and Emma at the end of the show. Although, to be honest, I thought it was Val and Jenna until I saw Val jumping around.
  3. At least she got rid of Kirstie Alley. But Alfonso and Rashad can both dance. Leah can't. Have you ever seen the episode of King of Queens where she tries to Salsa with her husband in a guest role? Christie can go far away now. I'm sick of her and she's making me sick of her fame hungry daughter. That's the worst part to me --- that we're stuck with these two idiots, especially over Sharna and Artem.
  4. Some of their guest judging choices are so questionable. Leah Remini Returning to 'Dancing With the Stars' as Guest Judge
  5. I'm from an all white family from New York and all of us know who Aretha Franklin is.
  6. I would've loved to see that. I'd actually been hoping we'd get Jon Cryer this season.
  7. Again, it's the kids who the pros spent time tweeting with when they were so desperately trying to make pro.
  8. The new blonde is married to the new male pro if I'm not mistaken.
  9. Thank you, show, for giving us back not only the disembodied voice but the theme song! I didn't realize how much I missed it but now I find myself bopping my head to it every time it plays. I enjoyed James again, I was really impressed by Kate and I liked Kel. Otherwise I'm kind of meh on everyone else. For the second week in a row, no one has really grabbed me. I do want to give kudos to Erin for the pep talk she gave Lamar. Not that I'm a fan of him or his partner and would've rather seen them go last night but Lamar was and is clearly down on himself and after the comments he got from the judges, which you could tell really upset him, I thought he really needed that. And I thought last night was one of her best looks ever. I've never been a huge Christie Brinkley fan. I hated her when she got caught cheating on Billy Joel with that helicopter accident, but now I tolerate her. I was looking forward to her because she was the one celeb I knew this season. But now she can just leave my screen already. Freakin' attention wh0re (I hope we can say that!). I don't see how this new voting structure is going to prevent what happened last season. In fact I think it's only going to make it worse. The judges can't push out the worst dancers if the worst dancers aren't even getting into the bottom 2. As long as people can vote online, they're going to power vote. This isn't the fans of the show or the celebs -- it's the fans of these younger pros who started in the troupe and spent all their time tweeting with fans while they tried to make pro. Those fans now think they have a BFF for life and are going to power vote for them every time. They could easily fix this problem if they only allowed phone and text voting. People can create thousands of e-mail accounts to power vote but they're not going to go out and buy thousands of phones. I also think the live vote only in certain time zones contributes to this, as people on the west coast don't even get to see the dances, so they just vote for their favorites.......and most of the time, that's a pro.
  10. I never believed Meryl and Fedor were broken up during DWTS. That made the showmance angle all the more ridiculous.
  11. Not sure where you're getting that from since I have never thought Tom is ready to retire from the show. If he was, then he could've given this show up instead of AFHV.
  12. I think it depends on the level of ringer. Someone who has some dance experience is a lot different than a Meryl Davis or a Laurie Hernandez or a Pussycat Doll where you know in Week 1 the competition is already over.
  13. LOL I said the same thing. What a coincidence every single person got exactly who they were hoping for. That was my thought too. You've got Cheryl Burke there and you want to dance with attention whore Jenna?
  14. This is a pretty good read. ‘Dancing With the Stars’ perfected a formula for kitschy, escapist joy. Can it survive today’s politics?
  15. I read a review today that said his biggest problem was that Peta didn't give him much to do. Wendy Williams has been a bitter cow about the show ever since she was on. Christie and Sailor both said she fit right into Christie's costume without any alterations. Sharna was also the DWTS correspondent for Extra last night, like Tony used to do after he left the show.
  16. I think that with doing away with the troupe they brought in two extra pros to have around for bumpers and fill-in. No idea how that ended up being the new girl and Keo. I did read somewhere that Keo was in Nashville last week helping Gleb with his celeb, so maybe they're also helpers. After all, why should Peta's partners be the only ones taught by two pros? LOL
  17. I don't think it will be Ray. A lot of people don't know his history and a lot of DWTS voters are willing to overlook history. He was better than a lot of the others and he has Cheryl as a partner. I don't think he'll win, but I also don't think he'll go first. Alexa looks just like her father and has been known since she was born to two extremely famous parents. Unless you're a fan of Christie and follow her, you might not even know she has another daughter. Or Artem.
  18. Actually, it wasn't. Billy Joel's 'Uptown Girl' was about Elle Macpherson, not Christie Brinkley
  19. I went into this season really only knowing Christie so I was hoping someone would really pull me in after watching them, much like Rashad did. Unfortunately that didn't happen. I like James and think he'll likely get my votes (if I bother to vote). I liked Karamo but no way can I vote for him with "look at me" Jenna as his partner. I also liked Kate. And credit to Spicer for wearing that getup. I've hated the last few seasons of them giving 8s and even 9s during Week 1, but I thought the scoring tonight was overboard in the other direction. Some of those dances definitely deserved higher than 5s. And how did Spicer score higher than Lamar? Did anyone else catch Lamar's face after Spicer got his scores? I think Christie and the show would've been better served if her daughter Alexa would have stepped in for her. I know Alexa was booked with gigs in NYC this week but at least she has name recognition and her famous father. I think no one knowing who Sailor is will be her downfall, despite Val's rabid fan base. Don't like the new "star lounge" and don't know why they make some of these stupid changes. It felt claustrophobic with everyone gathered around the side of the stage. The fact they brought back Jenna and Gleb rather than Sharna and Artem is ridiculous. I can't stomach either of them. Didn't like the new paddles or the new ballroom decor. It's all too busy. Did love having the disembodied voice back though! I'll be interested to see how this season plays out because I would not be surprised at all if this is the last season. As I've said before, they needed to come back with a bang and on so many levels they did not do that.
  20. That would've made more sense since people actually know who Alexa is, but apparently she's booked doing a gig in NYC this week.
  21. According to GMA, Christie Brinkley broke her arm during rehearsals and will not be competing. Her daughter will be taking her place.
  22. To me, it seems to defeat the purpose of having better, fairer results that don't favor popularity.
  23. Another nail in the show's coffin.
  24. "Killed it" is one of Erin's favorite expressions so it could happen! 🤣
