  1. I wouldn't read too much into it. Frankly, I think she, her sister-in-law and their little circle of friends say and do a lot of stuff just for attention, publicity and fan adoration.
  2. I think Charlie would've won without the showmance/manipulation. He was much more likable than Meryl.
  3. I think the most telling thing about Charlie was that he stopped following most everyone from DWTS, including Sharna, shortly after the season ended. He continued following Derek, Lindsay and Sasha for awhile, but now the only people from the show he still follows are Erin and Cheryl.
  4. I was amused by the note that she's been with Fedor for around 9 years because I never believed the two of them were broken up during DWTS as the Maksyls liked to claim. They both played that group like a bunch of fiddles.
  5. She doesn't need Mandy anymore. She's a Chmerkovskiy now! 😉
  6. Now let's get rid of the big troupe-riddled production numbers and back to the celeb and their pro alone on the dance floor.
  7. I don't consider the mini season a real season.
  8. Am I the only one who laughs when Maks bypasses meaningful social media posts and pictures posted by Erin and Meryl and Heather (you know, the partners he's still so close with) but likes random stupid stuff posted by Zendaya and Rumer and Normani? LOL
  9. Cheryl has not had as much success as I would've thought, but she has hosted morning/talk shows and she did get the Dance Moms gig. I'm not sure what happened or why she didn't pursue the show she did with Kristi, Meryl and Charlie because it looked really good and I would've liked to have seen it. Karina went back to the competition and judging circuit and just recently retired. She hasn't had a breakout mainstream career, but I'm not sure she was looking for that. She's done some movies and TV appearances and seems very involved with her dance school. She also is the one who was courted for Forever Tango, something Maks owes her for big time. I am curious to see what she does now that she's retired. I noticed last night she's doing BWAT again with Tony, Anna and Damian. Maks's biggest problem is that he can't act and he spent too many years pursuing that after Kirstie Alley told him he could be the next John Travolta.
  10. I would dump Jenna in a heartbeat. I feel like she and her sister-in-law cemented their places with the show the day they set their sights on the Chmerkovskiy brothers who, unlike many of the other original pros, have not been able to move their careers past the show. Although I'm not sure Val wants to and why should he? Right now, he's pretty much seen as the king of DWTS. I don't want to hear about Peta and Jenna winning mirrorballs.....while Peta's win with Donald was legit, I will never see her win with Nyle that way. And Jenna's win with Adam was just a joke. Years ago, one would have thought Derek and Maks would be the two to really break out from the show. Derek has done that, but Maks's career outside the show has turned into a joke that relies on him hitching his wagon to Peta's projects and being some kind of nutritional motivational Instagrammer. Funny for a guy who used to be photographed leaving clubs so drunk that Tony practically had to carry him out.
  11. I think Val is as close as they have to the original pros.....probably because he was around back then. Also, unlike his brother, he seems to enjoy and appreciate being on the show so I don't think he's going anywhere. Artem has the potential to reach that level but they've got to give him a real shot with a good partner. The others.....well, like I said, they may be good dancers but they don't have that "it" factor that made the original pros so good. Jonathan and Alec didn't have it, which is why they didn't last very long or reach the level of popularity of the other guys. That's how I look at Keo, Alan and Sasha. Gleb just flat out annoys the crap out of me and after the failed experiment when they first brought him in to replace Maks, I don't know why they keep trotting him out there.
  12. I still think Henry was the worst out of all of them, but pretty much all the pros who came up through the troupe are guilty of it. And they didn't try to hide it, even though them being made pros would mean existing pros would be out of a job.
  13. It's very hard for me to warm to the pros who spent time in the troupe campaigning with Twitter fans to become pros.
  14. I know people get very attached to the pros but I think the level of talent and charisma between the original pros and this current crop is night and day. I would love to see them bring back some of the old pros (Karina, Tony) while still maintaining some of the more popular pros from the current group (Sharna, Emma). I think one of the things hurting them is that except for Val and maybe Artem, they don't have the level of male pros they used to have. They may all be good dancers but they don't have the talent or the personality of Derek, Mark, Maks, Tony or even Louis.
  15. I thought I read that Kelly, like Kym, was a bridesmaid.
  16. That surprised me too considering how close she is with her sister, as well as Kym and Kelly Monaco, both of whom she's known a lot longer. I was also surprised Tony wasn't at the wedding considering how close he is to Cheryl.
  17. Years ago, I remember paparazzi pictures of Maks walking around NYC wearing an Obama shirt. And he was privately hired by the Clintons to choreograph Chelsea's wedding dance. I think he's always been 100% left leaning.
  18. Peta was desperate to become an actress (something she was training for and then put on hold to get Maks back) so I think she would've taken any role that was offered to her.
  19. Jenna and Val are in NYC doing ANOTHER wedding photo shoot? How much are these two going to cash in on their marriage doing photo shoots? What's next, a photo shoot of them trying to get pregnant?
  20. I forgot all about Zendaya. I thought it was funny that Rumer Willis's name kept coming up in the tabloid stories but she wasn't there.....but this weekend she was out shopping with Maks and Peta. That relationship has always struck me as strange. But to Val and Jenna's credit, they did have a lot of partners and fellow pros there. Maks and Peta had no one but Nile (and of course Sharna and Tony). Yes, Nicole works, but her work always seems to be based off the fam. She's the costume designer for DWM! She's a bathing suit designer backed by Kirstie Alley! She's a stylist for Peta and Sharna! She's a wedding planner for Maks & Peta and Val & Jenna! I've always given a lot more credit to Teddy who never seems to cash in on his famous friends for his work. As for Tony, I'm glad he got away from the fam. He spent a lot of years keeping Maks in line and after he joined DWM it seemed like he was doing most of the work as far as teaching and showing up for events. At least Val still teaches and Jenna's of course gotten involved now too. Maks doesn't seem to do much of anything with them anymore and Peta's never done a thing for the family business.
  21. I do think Erin is still close with Maks and Val. I remember an interview Val did where he said he texted her every day throughout her trial because of the relationship they'd formed through her relationship with Maks right after it happened. I don't think they all hang out together but I do think she still has a bond with them. You can see it in the way she interacts with them during the season compared to her interactions with all the other pros. Tom, as I said, I've always felt has a closer relationship with Cheryl than any of the other pros. I think he's closer to the original group of pros than the current group, but something about his relationship with Cheryl always seemed closer. I too would love to know what really happened with Tony leaving DWM. He basically took the same job with Fred Astaire, just with a different title, so I can't imagine why he'd give up a partnership to do that. I do remember when he made the announcement, Val said really nice stuff and wished him well but there was radio silence from Maks.
  22. I agree with everything you said, but this in particular blows my mind. She didn't even work with Adam for a full season, yet he made the cut over the girls she works with regularly and whose wedding parties she was in? Didn't she also grow up with Witney? I've read speculation she did it because Val wanted Nicole in his wedding party, but that's still stupid to me. But since Nicole makes her living sponging off the Chmerkovskiys, I guess we shouldn't be surprised. I know celebs sell their wedding pics -- Lindsay, Witney, Mark, Emma & Sasha, Maks & Peta, Julianne and Erin have all gotten married in the last few years and done it -- but photo shoots on the honeymoon were really over the top. All this makes these marriages seem so phony to me, like they're just being done for the money and publicity they bring. Cheryl seems to be gearing up to do the same, and I notice the new relationship between Artem and Nikki Bella is getting tons of play in the tabloids. But I guess these D listers will do anything for some publicity and a few bucks. One thing I've noticed is that Tom conveniently always manages to be out of town during these weddings, but his tweets indicate he's been invited. Erin is always in town but is never there either (which surprised me with both Chmerkovskiy weddings since she's so close with them). I wonder if they both stay away on purpose so they appear impartial and not like they're playing favorites among the pros. I'll be interested to see if Tom shows up at Cheryl's wedding because I've always felt he's closer to her than any of the other pros. Did you notice Tony wasn't at Val's wedding? That must've been an ugly breakup when he left DWM.
  23. Actually, it's Maks's home, not hers. I saw that picture of the mirrorballs on the fireplace and laughed......I guess he thinks that's a selling point?
  24. Maks and Peta have never been on a vacation alone together. That article made me laugh, that Maks was blaming it on working on DWTS, when Val & Jenna, Emma & Sasha, Derek & Hayley and all the other non-pro couples have managed to take vacations together just fine.
  25. I've noticed Jenna spends a lot of time with the family. She's done and is scheduled to do teaching with Val and the DWM studios and while she was in NY before the wedding for her fitting, she went to the movies with the C parents. Peta has never done a thing for DWM and she and Mama C appear to keep each other at arm's length. Plus the fact that Maks seems to have removed himself a lot from the business and spends pretty much all his time out in LA alone with Peta and the baby and not really interacting with the family much back in NY makes me think the fam is a lot more fond of Jenna than they are of Peta.
