Just give D'Arcy all the awards now. You could completely see each character as she played them. Though I have to guess we did skip over roughly 74 years of Jeremy Bearimy time of Jason enjoying being the proud owner of a pair of boobs (great shape, size, and so close together!!!)

I do enjoy the thought of Scott doing a little cross-country road trip in the Ant-Van. It's a long trip from San Francisco to Upstate New York. He's got to have some fun adventures that will serve as a nice contrast to Tony's time in space.

More of that Haley and Luke mutually supportive relationship. It's so much fun and contracts well with some of the other snarkier relationships on the show. Phil and Claire in the car were fun too. I'm glad they resolved everything through a simple talk, and not a series of missunderstandings. "That's my wife's you're talking to" Heh Ed Begley Jr works well with Ed O'Neill

Ah finally! Dre becomes self-aware and realizes his needy, man-child behaviour. I'm thrilled for this change, and look forward to it lasting all the way to next week's episode.

Matt encouraging Barry while the rest of the JTP recoiled in border was fantastic. I hope Barry ultimately acknowledges the positive influence Matt has on him as a person. I appreciated the earnest talk coming in the second act instead of just the third, like usual. Murray "breaking" Mellor was fantastic too. Damn, he's sly.

Naming their baby Dilly wouldlikely get them a preschool scholarship from Bud Light. There wasn't a great story, but I enjoyed them all, pretty much equally. The show was always at its best when it played off the various interrelationships. Jay's fondness for the melting pot memories of his youth were oddly touching, and Andy Daly barely has to do anything to make me laugh. I'm glad Claire and Alex had the talk they did, but I would have happily watched a full day of Alex and Gloria togrther, lifting each other up

In the midst of one of the sillier storylines we actually got one of Dre's best scenes, especially with Junior. The scene immediately following Stephens notifying him of the "Ice Out" where Dre talked about the nature of sacrifice and accomodation was a very honest one and Anthony Anderson conveyed the burden that being a proud black parent carries. I quite liked that. More of Dre interacting with his adult children like adults (and his own mother, for that matter) please.

Creed II was one of the movies I was most excited for this year because I unequivocally adored the first Creed. I feel maybe a touch let down, but only because the first one set such high expectations. I felt the main issue with this film was how over-plotted it was. The first Creed worked so well because it was singularly focused with a compelling side-plot that tied into the main plot very well, and you really only had 3 actors playing off one another. This film combined elements of the plots of Rocky II, III, and IV while also working to craft a sympathetic antagonist in Drago (no small part due to Coogler's experience with the MCU in the past 18 months, I'm sure). Unfortunate as it is to say, I think the drama surrounding their baby being born could have been dialed back in order to focus more on the Dragos. The dinner in Russia scene was a good dive into the complexities of their situation, but we could have used more supporting scenes. Great performances all around, as expected. Dolph Lundgren was really fantastic as a man outwardly trying to keep up appearances, but emotionally vulnerable. Phylicia Rashad is incredible in these movies, and Rocky always brings out the best in Stallone. The performances they've gotten out of most of the professional boxers that play in these films are pretty incredible too. Wish we had gotten some lines out of Andre Ward

This one hit me, in a good way. This past October was two years since my Grandfather passed. The first year was still tough, but it was a little easier this year. The notion of having proper time to grieve rang true. For positive people, it's natural to want to focus on the positive, but putting together that realization that things have changed is an important part of the process. As usual, Pops was spectacular. Great to see him go through more emotions with Dre

"I only really like purple in a bruise" That one kinda slid in quickly in this episode, but I see you Diane. I also see the myriad of camera angles they're using to try and hide the fact that Diane has 6-8 inches (or maybe more) on Jack now

S03.E08: The Worst Possible Use of Free Will
Traveller519 replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in The Good Place [V]
Oh boy, as a Calgarian, I would be thrilled to get The Good Place treatment. Can we top the Tostitos Public Library, Presented by GoDaddy? We shall see. Also, I can't wait to see Calgarians get their backs up when our city is described as rural. As for this episode, I like when the show steers into the moral philosophy hard. And I felt proud of Eleanor for being the one to do the teaching. The best way to learn something is to teach it to some one else. Danson and Bell are so fantastic together -
S10.E07: Did the Chicken Cross the Road?

Hayley's enthusiastic and supportive High-Five for Luke, when he boldly proclaimed that his Garfield Sticker was the second highest available grade on his English Paper, was my highlight. -
Give me one more episode, Deuce! For a full 10 episode season! Curse you, David Simon, and your ability to tie a season up so well and still leave us wanting more. All-in-all this felt like a much more cohesive season than the first. Most of our characters want more than the Deuce, but find an odd comfort in the "security" it provides. And truly nobody sees themselves as the asshole, when in reality it's hard to find someone who isn't. I'm impressed the show was confident enough to handle Dorothy's death off-screen. Early in the episode I was running through scenarios. "Did CC have her wallet with him? Did he pick it up? Are they going to investigate her?" Or "Did she ditch her stuff and flee town?" All the mystery drama I've watched over the years says, if you don't see them buried, they're not really dead. But I think we can take this one at face value. We know the rest of the pimps were pissed at her and CC was the only one preventing something happening until he "skipped town." Candy's made her name, but poor Eileen is learning she may not ever be able to divorce herself of Candy like an Ashley or Darlene. I feel like Eileen perpetually has he fingers on the outside of the tunnel, in the light, but she can't pull her head out. I loved Irene's "If you love something, set it free, and it shall return, all fucked up" as she eyes Shay lying on her couch. I hope those two find some happiness in the 80s.

S03.E07: A Fractured Inheritance

All shapes and sizes ... And distances apart -
I really enjoyed this too. I said last week that as fun as grumpy Murray is, when he is earnest and passionate it really opens up his character. This week it was fun to see him so passionate about something, and I'm glad it didn't end with Adam playing the part, as we saw how much the play meant to another father as well. My Dad was never a crazed sports dad, but I definitely played on some teams that had those. It was also fun to see the contrast with the Ruben Amaros. It's nice that the actual Ruben Amaro Jr. gets to play, and honor, his father, who passed away last year. Though if the JTP have been in school for a long time. Ruben Amaro (and Johnny And Carla) has got to be in roughly Grade 15 by now. Two weeks ago we had the Hershey Highway reference, this week a jingle written for Butt Grease. Someone on the writing staff has quite the preoccupation with that part of the body.

A good ol' episode of Modern Family farce! I hope it's not the last one of the series. The Dunphy one was very good. The Jay and Gloria one was pretty good. It's really at its best when everyone is involved though. I liked Phil's renewed confidence at the end. "He loved magic" Who wouldn't want to visit a club with employees named Sharona and Iweemewi??

"Now go to your room and think about what you did!" "REALLY?!?!?!?!" "What? Ewww, No!" Hahahaha. I really liked this version of Ruby. Just the right amount of Sass tonight and she actually figures well into the plot. I remember my first middle school breakdown when I learned the power of rumours and gossip all because I told my friend who my crush was... Damn

S03.E06: The Ballad of Donkey Doug
Traveller519 replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in The Good Place [V]
One of the little things I loved was that the coffee shop where Chidi met Someone was call French Pressing Nemo, Eleanor's bar last week was Drinking Nemo. I'm sad they're leaving Australia -
S03.E06: The Ballad of Donkey Doug

Gahhhhhh, Janet is so forking adorable!!! *Bing!* I'm glad she took some time to "glitch" the simulator for her own benefit. And DAMN RIGHT non of Elenore's ex's are over her! Despite loving the show's frentic pace, I enjoyed the slower episode. It was nice to dig into Jason's backstory a bit and reveal that he has become a better person. That trip to the Randy "Macho Man" Savage airport was good for him. -
Murray waking from his slumber, in his tighty whiteys, to complain about Hippies is the best Murray. And awwww, he wanted to go to Woodstock. Actually, as much as I do enjoy Dad-rage Murray, when he gets earnest he is quite fun to listen to. Pops loves a good presentation!

The end tag was definitely the most enjoyable/funny part. And capped perfectly. "Clutching 10 pages of suggestions for the hotel staff" I agree that the costumes on tv shows, which are always professional level creations, really undercut the message if it's not a true Halloween story. I'm kind of digging Alex's relationship with the Firefighter. He really cares for her and she plays well off him.

I came to post the same quote with the same sentiment. Any episode he appears in is instantly better. It's more poignant, insightful, and yes funnier. I appreciate how he can play it up or down just right.

Dammmmmmmmmmmmnnnnn, Chidi. Maybethe real Good Place was in front of our tvs all along. I am so delighted that the show still knows how take a can of gasoline and a blow-torch to its plot. They burn through it like nothing and we're all the better for it. Janet is all of us wishing our exes the best in their new relationships

The A plot severed the episode (even if you shelve Sheldon's dickishness, there is no way the University would reassign Amy's workload without discussing it with her), but the other five were good humor, especially through the whole second act. The whole apartment scene with Leonard's Dad jokes playing of Penny and Raj, and then the flights of stairs debate was good well paced humor, and Bernadette's Greek chrous to the palebtarium show, which was its own delightful shit-show, were great. Free Amy first, but then free the rest of the cast

Congratulations on getting the Hershey Highway past Standards and Practices, writers. You can expect passive aggressive emails from all of your mothers now. While Bev may be a little gullible to Adam's theme park current events stories, he ability to follow the detail is quite impressive. Barry was incredibly cute this episode. I'm pretty sure he grows up to be the Todd.
