Am I alone in hoping that the blonde agent is a relative of Peggy's and that in the next movie they'll get together? It's amazing to me how invested we can become in fictional characters. I guess that's a tribute to good writing and acting.

NSFW: R-rated & X-rated Content On Television
Shannon L. replied to SPLAIN's topic in Everything Else TV
Gosh, I still remember when one f-word meant an R rating and when HBO would only show R-Rated movies after...8pm, I think...maybe 9pm. Nowadays, I'm kind of grateful for Netflix streaming and video games, so I don't have to worry about my kids having sleepovers and channel surfing and coming across Skin-a-max. At least with Netflix, it tells you what's been previously viewed. I don't watch ELR, but it's sounds funny. I laughed so hard at The Big Bang theory when Sheldon told Penny, during the pilot episode, that earlier that day, he and Leonard considered masturbating for money. -
My whole family went, but my husband and son watch so many more action films than my 12 year old daughter and I and even we guessed both of these. I don't recall hearing gasps for either one, but when they showed the Winter Soldier, I leaned over and whispered "It's Bucky" and she said "Of course it is" and when Fury was "killed", she leaned over and said "He's not dead. They wouldn't kill him." I wondered the same thing. I loved the interaction between Black Widow and Cap, too. Especially the kissing scene/conversation. "Embarrassed isn't exactly what I'm feeling right now" (I know that's not exact wording). hee! Then the whole "Was that your first kiss since the 40s?" Loved that one, too. Edited for grammar. I don't speak so good ;)

Just got back and also loved it. I never thought I'd be such a big fan of comic book movies/action adventure stuff (until now, I enjoyed some of them, but could take them or leave them as a genre), but I've turned into an Avengers movies fan. Even the weakest one was still a lot of fun. So many people left the theater tonight! I can't believe that after 9 Avenger movies, people still walk out of them before the end of the credits!

I don't have a crush on Daniel Craig, but speaking of "Casino Royale", that scene with him in the shower, fully clothed, comforting the female lead (I forget the character name) was one of the hottest things I'd seen in a long time.
-
I love Tom Hiddleston for all of those reasons. He seems like such a nice guy. I unashamedly and without apology have a huge crush on Ben Affleck. I can't even really explain it (except for the fact that I find him very attractive--especially during his "Argo" phase), but I've had a crush on him for a while.

Stupid Movies We Watch Over and Over and Over...
Shannon L. replied to David T. Cole's topic in Everything Else About Movies
Ladyhawke! It was a sweet, romantic, fantasy film, set in medieval times with an 80s synthesizer soundtrack, a cool cast (Rutger Hauer, Michelle Pfieffer and Matthew Broderick), and a beautiful horse (which isn't important, really, but watch it and tell me that wasn't a gorgeous horse :) ETA: Space Camp! A guilty pleasure of mine. Not great and seems to take itself very seriously. -
Huh, I Never Knew That: True Facts That I Learned From Watching TV
Shannon L. replied to SPLAIN's topic in Everything Else TV
And little or no bruising. You may have a one or two small cuts and one may even require a small band aid, but other wise, your face looks pretty good. -
Exactly what I thought. I'd be surprised if he didn't, since he told the judges he'd do something softer next week.
-
I was afraid of that (but am fine with Val/Meryl, even though it's not what I'd hoped for).
-
Ah yes...the old "Step out of your comfort zone/you stepped out of your box!" conundrum that has been a part of this show since day one. I think "Faithfully" would be a great one for him to do if there's ever a theme that allows him to choose it. I told my husband that if I were ever on this show singing a duet (or on DWTS), I'd play the hell out of it, because it's, like, you know.... a performance! He agreed and said he'd do the same thing. It's not like a movie where they're doing a love scene. Sorry...just a pet peeve of mine (and, of course, if they tried, there's no guarantee they'd look convincing, but still....).

Caleb has a big voice, so the song would have to be really slow and soft for him not to get loud. Skyfall was a slow song for him and he kept it down the best he could, given the size of his voice, until the last 20 seconds or so. Of course, I'd like to see another slower one from him, but I wonder why Harry didn't remember that one. I like Caleb's consistency and stage presence.
-
Can we go back to previous seasons? Bo Bice. Damn, I loved tuning in every week for him--his look, his voice, his stage presence, his song choices. Wow. This season, while I like Caleb's type of music and his whole presence/voice (except his off stage behavior--the guy needs to tone it down a little), I'm not crushing on anyone. Sam and CJ are cuties, though. The judges? Harry's cute and Keith is really good looking, but Jennifer, 9 times out of 10, takes my breath away (her beauty--not necessarily what she's wearing :) Last night, when they showed flashbacks to the auditions where she was wearing the black and red flannel (?)? Gorgeous!

Damn! My son and I were working our way through it on Netflix because he was too young at the time it was airing. We got through Season 3, but had to stop because of homework and after school activities. We were going to start again soon. Thanks! I've seen it on my other posts, but for some reason it wasn't showing on the original from when I opened the thread. It's ok, though--thanks to Lisin for fixing it for me.
-
From the last episode thread: I can see that, but I think, and this may sound ridiculous, that the longer hair makes him look more like someone acting a part and less authentic. He looked more real and more comfortable to me in his original video.

Down to the River is fantastic! I love that bluesy, southern rock sound. And, on a more shallow note, he looks so much better with the short hair and light beard!

Small Talk: Off The Dance Floor
Shannon L. replied to David T. Cole's topic in Dancing With The Stars
I agree. This is also why I think that Val would be good with Candace. After seeing the great routines he was able to create for Zendaya based on her age, I'm sure he'd be able to create some great routines for Candance based on her desire to be a bit more conservative. I've really been impressed with Val. -
I've come to expect that with most shows. I don't recall ever seeing a show that was consistenty great from beginning to end, but rarely do I give up on one once I'm dedicated to it. I'm looking forward to this one.

We just watched the first two episodes of this show on Netflix and loved it. We're still making our way through another show and right now, we're too busy for more than one, 1 hour show a night, but as soon as things free up, we'll start watching this one regularly, as well as the other. My initial thoughts were: It looks like Jennifer Gardner was perfect for the lead role and I love Victor Garber, so it has that going for it at the very least.

Our Own Dundies: The Office Bests and Worsts
Shannon L. replied to mstaken's topic in The Office (US)
Gosh, my memory sucks for things like this--I'd have to go back and reread the descriptions of each episode so I could remember if there were any moments that I loved/hated. But, there are a few things that I can say for now (I may think of more later): The one beginning sequence that I'll never forget is "Parkour!" I have a love/hate thing going on with Dwight. He can be such a sweet man at times, then turn around and be a viscious jerk. But, kudos to Rain Wilson for pulling both sides off so well. I really like how Pam tended to take care of Michael--making sure he didn't do something too stupid or cheering him up when he was down. Speaking of kudos to actors who could pull off different layers of their character: Steve Carrell. I could feel almost any emotion that he was trying to portray--especially when he was sad/disappointed/embarrassed, etc. -
Majesty was cute, but her singing and attitude left me cold. I think the frantic sing off was her panicking, feeling desperate and not being able to control the adreniline that went with it. I was sure they'd use the save until I heard her sing off (and Jennifer's face! Classic!). I think we're going to see a bottom 4 of Malaya, Jessica, Jena and Caleb. Beyond that, I can't even begin to predict who might have a shot at winning.

Editor's Note: This topic replaces the old forum for this show which has been vaulted here: http://forums.previously.tv/forum/436-24-v/ Original Post: It'll be back soon. I know my family can't wait!

Hi everyone! My son and I have been making our way through The Office on Netflix and are about 6 episodes from the series finale. I have to say, that while I didn't think Season 8 was as bad as other people made it out to be (I kind of liked Robert California), I do miss Michael--it definitely lost something when Steve Carrell left. And I can't believe I'm saying that because Michael drove me crazy!
-
And let's not forget the Movie Songs theme where you get to choose a song that from any time period, in any genre, that just happened to be used in a movie. I think Caleb and Jena were the only ones that had the right idea. It was like last season when they tried to shake it up with a Rock and Roll theme and brought in Orianthe only to have the vast majority of the kids pick rock ballads.

Small Talk: Off The Dance Floor
Shannon L. replied to David T. Cole's topic in Dancing With The Stars
Hi everyone! My TWoP name was Teagan1 and I decided to go with my real name this time (although, in retrospect, I should have kept the old one so I don't have to reintroduce myself once in each thread). Anyway, I go through spurts of posting, then simply lurking, so you may or may not see my name much at any given time. Great to see you here, though--I'm glad we all found this place. Your posts always make me laugh or think, or both! I have to wonder if someone is sitting in the studio office right about now thinking "what hell were we thinking?". That's what they get for opening up voting for an entire week.
