  1. At first glimpse, I thought Willy Abbott was being played by Paul Rudd.
  2. The cold open with Bradley Cooper was great. Loved everyone getting his movies mixed up. Melissa: Oppenheimer. Mr Johnson: Is that the one about Napoleon? I'm sure we all figured Willy Abbott would have something questionable about him, but I did not expect him to be a flat-earther. I continue to love Ava, esp this year. Ava: Attention Abbott Elementarians. It's your captain, Principal Coleman, speaking. If you're learning, stop.
  3. Great ep. Both stories were fun. Although all three wharf performers were great, I thought the balloon lady was the best -- What did Bob call her when they first saw them? Balloonoligist? Nah. I can't remember. Anyway, THEN the pipe guy performed. I didn't expect that. He was great. Plus he had the perfect solution to who gets the coveted spot. I don't remember Logan and his mom either, but I loved how everything she said embarrassed him. I was worried that Louise or Linda would drop the statue into the ocean, but I liked how it worked out, that Fischoeder took it, discovered it was fake, and still gave Louise a little money.
  4. Yes, Mark Robinson espouses horrible opinions, but also notice that his congregation and other pastors seem to agree. Plus, of course, people outside his church openly agree with him. The moment John stated what the main story was, I thought of the PeacockTV series, Dr. Death. The first season was about that doctor in TX that John referenced. True stories, but also 'unbelievable.' I guess word got out that you can call in and say anything you want. Talking about penises seems to be the agreed upon prank.
  5. I just assumed it was Billie Eilish, but I honestly can't tell the two singers apart. Way back I saw her a few times on the Nickelodeon show Victorious, which my son used to watch. She was pretty good.
  6. Galileo908, I just want to thank you for the mini-recaps you do. They help me remember stuff I forgot about. Yeah, I was pretty sure Happy Birthday wasn't yet in the public domain. Still, this was a great sketch. Silly and fun. I absolutely hated the ending, too. I like your idea much better. It esp would have worked if Sarah's character had been even more apologetic toward Brolin thruout the sketch, and then at the end, just to make him feel good she eats the moldy sandwich but can't quite hide her disgust. Overall, I thought this was a pretty good show. That's due mainly to Josh Brolin. I liked the CO. I think many people were expecting SNL to do their version of Katie Britt. Did not expect Scarlett, who was great. My only (minor) complaint is that she didn't do a more babyish voice. (I read that the voice Britt was using is called a fundie baby voice.) But the whole thing was well done. It took me a sec to recognize the Get Out reference. Oh, and I loved when Biden did the "Too slow!" psych to the Speaker. I liked the monologue. Loved the Gotye joke. I guess I need to google to see what Josh's book title -- From Under the Truck -- means. The bank robbery sketch was ok. Nothing too special, joke-wise, but the performances were good. Loved the airplane sketch. The People Pleaser Support Group was good, esp Bowen. I liked the idea of the wine and cheese night sketch, and I thought Josh was really good, but it kind of meandered and wasn't as sharp as it could have been. I expected more to be made of Josh's character being a cruel guy who throws old people out on the streets. The shrimp tower sketch was off-the-wall, which is a good thing. In the Shonda sketch when Josh's character came out in a wheelchair, that's exactly what I expected. Still, it was a fairly entertaining sketch. I was surprised at how short WU was and that there were no guests. I'm going to assume that there were but they were cut. Loved the lines A Britt Much and TGI Crazies (to describe MTG), Sinema looking like all the Flintstones, Humpback Mountain. I like the character Lisa from Temecula, but I wish they'd do something different. They should retire having her rattle the table. The first time it was funny. Her attitude and her misspeaking (gratitutity) should be the basis of the humor.
  7. I've seen only one ep of that series, and I would love to watch more. Unfortunately, it's not streaming anyway. Criminal.
  8. That all would work for me! I really enjoyed this ep. The cases weren't all that complicated, but the ep was interesting and there were good character moments. Amanda looked so different, softer, sitting there at the end with Will.
  9. That was a very informative and infuriating story about Boeing. I learned a lot. But my blood is boiling. Stockholders and investors are ruining this country. (Or helping to ruin it. Or have ruined it.) Companies are bought or merged, and employees lose their jobs. CEOs and other muckety-mucks are raking in the dough while the real workers are barely surviving. I don't know what can be done. And this Boeing story shows so clearly what the drive to keep stock prices up does to the product. It becomes a death machine. It all makes me so angry. And more anger... the Supreme Court and Clarence Thomas. Well, of course not just Thomas on the SC. But... geez. I did enjoy the story about iguanas falling from trees and all the local news "iguana-casts." I would freak out if I lived there and saw those things raining down.
  10. I watch the eps in order. I always enjoy each one, some more than others, of course. The Mumbai ep was good, although most of the food looked very unappetizing to me. Brown. (I was recovering from a stomach bug at the time, so there's that.) I LOVED the Kyoto ep. What a gorgeous city. The samurai tour guide (Joe?) was fantastic. Adorable. I thought this was my favorite ep, and then... Iceland! Just wow. Everything about it is amazing, just like Phil said. The landscape, the people, the culture, the food. I frankly wasn't all that excited when I saw that the next ep was Dubai, but this was surprisingly good also. My favorite part was when he ate the dish (raw lamb, I believe) at the award-winning woman's restaurant, and he was so emotional and trying to explain the magical effects the food had on him. I don't follow internet personalities, so I'd never heard of the guy who has travelled to every country in the world. How amazing. I also loved hearing from the guy in Iceland who does photography and travelogues.
  11. There are no shortages of candidates. You're right. This was a missed opportunity. It could have been really clever and funny.
  12. I think you're right, though I don't know if I'd say "acting." "Performing" is more like it. I've said before that I think things need to be quicker paced. I don't know if they're slow because they don't know the lines that well. There was an event in Glasgow called, i believe, the Willy Wonka Experience. the promotional art looked great, but it was a gigantic letdown, with half-assed props and, well, not much. Here's one article on it.
  13. Great description. I'm all for that! I think the only thing I've seen Sydney Sweeney is The White Lotus. Hey, did you know she has a great rack! So, I didn't enjoy this ep. Some of that might be due to my recovering from a stomach bug. Still, there was very little I liked. The Mitch McConnell "seen here" jokes are always good. The little Willy Wonka Experience joke was good. I liked when Ego as the manta ray said, "OK Nat Geo. That is Nat Geo business." I liked the dogs. I find it really hard to laugh at the "Biden is old" jokes because there's too much at stake. Oh, and in that CO, I wonder if in rehearsals Michael had tried and failed to do a raspy Newsom voice. BTW, is Dana Bash really like that? There was nothing of interest or humor in the monologue. Did she say that she went to a Trump-themed party for her mom? The Cold Case sketch wasn't much. I guess I'm tired of young people being so adept at social media so they're so much smarter than the old folk. Get off my lawn! Please Don't Destroy was just dumb. Did not like. Cheerleaders. Meh. Big Bench. Meh. I did kind of like the Bowen-is-straight sketch. At least that was a bit different. The bridal party. Ugh. "Shoot" was straight on annoying, not funny. Hooters. Predictable. Don't they share their tips? I did like Chloe in the Airbnb sketch. Good voice she put on. The restaurant sketch was ok. Nothing offensively unfunny. All in all a waste of time.
  14. Thanks. I'm not ready to sign up with Apple again. I'll wait until Severance returns.
  15. I think Cassidy initiated it, as a kind of primal scream thing or let your inhibitions go.
  16. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought I read in one of the articles about Bluebell that she wears her own clothes.
  17. Every time I see Ormewood, I think he's going to punch someone. It feels weird when he doesn't. I feel kinda sorry for the writers having to come up with stories for the side characters. It's too bad some viewers (like me!) just aren't interested in them. If it isn't connected to Will, it's just filler. Sorry Erika and Jake!
  18. I love how the writers have changed Ava. They found the right balance betw self-absorbed and helpful to others. Am I forgetting that Mr Johnson, Jacob, and Gregory all used to hang out together? Or is that just Mr Johnson's weird perspective on things. I hope it's the latter because it was funny how out-of-joint his nose was about this. Loved him eaves-dropping with his bucket. Oh, and thinking that "Fleabag with an F" meant Fleabaf." :D
  19. I don't know if it was this ep or my mood, but I was not into this one. I am bored with Angie stories and Jake stories. Just not interested. And Jake making a gun for his son's science project? What the? I really hope the school has a problem with that, but I doubt the show will go there. I'm also bored with the James Ulster stuff and his teasing out info for Will. And then it took until almost the end for Betty to appear! That was terrible! I needs my Betty fix. Maybe one issue is that I like having a case-of-the-week. I guess the serial killer trying to escape was supposed to be that, but it wasn't enough. Oh, and since C. Thomas Howell played the warden, I kept expecting him to be a baddie.
  20. My sister has invested in crypto. She got into it several years ago from a financial newsletter she used to subscribe to. I've said negative things about it to her a couple of times, like it's a pyramid scheme, but she's convinced it's a good investment and that the U.S. is going to get rid of the dollar. She HAS made money, but she hasn't withdrawn any of it yet. She's also had a bunch of coins stolen/hacked from her several years ago. That was a few thousand. I wish she'd cash out. As far as the pig butchering goes, my understanding is that scammers study social media to find good victims, i.e., those that would likely have money.
  21. I did notice that when he shook 21 Savage's hand, it looked like Shane was going in for the bro-hug, or whatever you call it -- shake hands, pull in together shoulder to shoulder, separate -- but 21 Savage just held him at arm's length, giving him a simple handshake. I didn't watch the entire goodbyes, but I didn't see anybody else being cold.
