  1. I'm so glad to see this thread pop up! I've watched them all (IMO unfortunately too few episodes), and I think they got better and better. And I found them funny and surprisingly naughty but in different ways than usual. I love the 80s drag, and the characters are unique and refreshingly funny/crazy. A little bit of serious, a lot of trashy/vulgar funny, and some awww. I hope there's a season 2!
  2. Yeah, Lisa talking to her friend when she needed a sign? I generally am not built that way but felt like it was what she needed to tell herself to buck up and get through it. Re: the eggs...yeah, I don't think you can not open them when you're in that situation. I'd have felt like her after seeing the embryos and there's likely no way I could have eaten it. Oh and how Joe got through a few days with a kidney stone? As someone who has gone through passing a kidney stone once, I cannot imagine going through that without pain meds for more than a day. HORRIBLE pain. Too bad that happened or they would have continued to be a good team. And her hair! That's a great way to bring a 'tool' without it being your special item. She can get another dred put in when she gets home 🙂
  3. I'm not sure if its new, but I watched "In Too Deep" last night with Lisa/Joe in the Bahamas. That was an amazing episode - truly one of the harder challenges I've seen with them having to raft 25 miles and island hop for food and water. I couldn't watch the egg segment, but Lisa is a truly amazing survivor, in more ways than one!
  4. I've been streaming Sanditon via the PBS Passport app. Which episode just aired? I've gotten through 8 episodes and want to talk about how it ended! 🙂
  5. Point me in the right direction please if this list exists somewhere (or there's a better place to ask)! I'm trying to find a list of who/how many people Claire has murdered (and Jamie too). Seem to be a long list, here's where I got to start on Claire: Did I miss any? I just binge watched S1-S3 so those are above and fresh in my memory. I've read the rest of the books too but long enough ago that I won't remember many. Thanks all!
  6. So part of me wonders if these "investors" are friends of the late husband? She'd have had the access, and they may have felt like they wanted to help her initially if they had strong ties to the late husband.
  7. @copshop thank you for your info - that's something that bothered me too. I just watched the Southern Italy episode, as I just booked a trip for the spring that will start in Naples and Salerno, take me through my grandparents home towns in Basilicata, and then further south to check out Matera. I figured this episode was good research, but it left me feeling like my desire to see Matera is now lumped into all the hipsters ruining the place, and maybe I should just stop in for a day trip. Reading your comment reminded me that (hopefully) many of the airbnbs in Matera are locals who are finally coming up good now that their town is being popularized. Otherwise watching the episode now after his passing and watching the chemistry between him and Asia made me a bit uncomfortable and sad. I loved the part where he knows fishing there won't be like 'fishing' in Sicily. It was great to see them clean the catches and cook it too. The tarantella segments were so odd - I couldn't tell if they really were implying that the dance possession was 'real' or a dramatic re-enactment of the past. And how dressy the women were eating at that place, it made me wonder if it was a special production or something.
  8. Totally agree that "I'm going to teach your kids to smoke" killed it! That whole yelling sequence had me laughing so hard... I also liked that in this episode, there were more details/ acknowledgments about what is going on out there - gas is going bad, its been 4 years since they left Mike, I forget the others. But it seemed like they were planting some details/answering some questions we've all had.
  9. I watched last night and I thought it was really good. While I was aware of him back in the day, I was never the biggest wrestling fan. My husband the 80s wrestling fan also watched with me, and he really enjoyed seeing Andrew plus the rest of his childhood wrestling memories again either in the old clips or the current interviews (Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Snooka, McMahon, etc). It made me a bit melancholy though to see how it was hard for Andre to just relax/hide/drop-out since he was so visually/audibly recognizable. People can be cruel intentionally/unintentionally and he was so sensitive to it. Also how young he was when he passed and the relative lack of medical exploration to see if the gigantism could have been treated to any extent. Such an interesting mix of interviews of those who worked with him, his family, biographers, etc.
  10. And then he said, "Now I'm hungry, will you bring me the cookies from the kitchen when you get up? I can't move, I'll disturb the dog." So true - I use that excuse on my husband all the time!
  11. Shallow me - Mike's son Dimitri is HOT! How can such a douche have a seemingly sweet and adorable son. Even long hair band son was sweet. Even if they're half my age :)
  12. That's precisely it - constant shit hitting the fan is what wore me out! While I appreciate that there needs to be drama to move the story forward, it's as if Gabaldon didn't trust the relationship to be enough. I've started LJG brotherhood of the blade, and have the Scottish Prisoner after that. So far it's been nice to live within John's more orderly mind.
  13. Thank you all for reaffirming my opinion of Book 3. I just finished it, loved Jamie fainting at Claire's arrival. I also liked the research portion, and how it jogged back and forth between the past and the present. I liked it up through Lollybrook, and even until they leave for Jamaica. Then the boat switch/jumping overboard and yet still meeting up was too much, as was the rest of the island drama. It felt like a dog pile of every possible random thing hitting them with no time to stop, breathe and talk about life and remember why they're so good together. I was just wondering if it was time to take a break from the books before I read Book 4, or if I should read a Lord John Grey novel. I think its time for LJG to cleanse the palate a bit and see where it goes.
  14. My notes: -I'd be skeeved out by taking Ned's little (warm?) knife from his crotch to then use for my stabbing practice! -How could such a small weapon - the blackjack - be very effective? But kudos to Frank for knowing how to take care of himself. -Love dirty angry Jehmeh better than cleaned up wedding Jamie (but I wouldn't kick him out of bed for anything either). -Is the hat that Murtaugh wears a beret? -I love the police drawing of the Scotsman that Frank saw that night. -I'm glad that Frank heard Claire calling for him, but I suppose he'll just think his mind/heart is playing tricks on him. Loved that whole scene of them passing through the same spot in different times...wracked full of believable tension.
