  1. I agree, happened to me in middle school in 7th grade. I caught step throat and was out three days. Then when I was back on Monday, they told me I was running it on Wednesday. I was mad because the day I was sick for it, it was beautiful outside, the day I took it, the winds were blowing so hard and it was cold outside. Next year, did no problem. My niece was sick with the stomach flu for her's and when she got back they told her she was taking it in two days. Yeah, it was the classic: "write the characters to fit the plot." Like with Manny not knowing or understanding Spanish now. They made the decision that Manny wanted to learn french and pretty much threw out the last few years of his knowing spanish pretty well.
  2. As an IT person I saw both Mark's side but I also saw Red Dress's side too. Here was the problem with both. Mark was right, the constant update on the website wasn't helping. Even web giants like Amazon or Fingerhut, there are always new items going up every moment but they allow a search algorithm that allows it to naturally pop up as a related item when you are looking at another item. Their website was lacking that and people looking and clicking on various items and videos was kill it. They had a poor server host. Never once did I hear Mark say: "It's not the webpage itself its your host service." On Red Dress's side, they said how they wanted to build the new webpage but I never once heard: "We can't do a design like this on our main host so we need to go to a new one that can." It was more of: "We can't do this, so we'll pay someone who can." Ryan's mom, saw where she was coming from and if I understand right, Ryan is the middle of the three boys and the dad has to pay the rest of the bills with his job. Plated? Wow, felt real bad for those guys and from what I understand from friends in the that type of business, it is the real estate and logistics that will kill you even if you are successful. More money goes out than in despite how successful you are. You either break even, make a profit or go under in a few years if you keep spinning.

Yeah but remember, it was about making the plot work not logic.
  4. You would think that wouldn't you? We were also to think that Anna said Luke was going to be a deadbeat dad and he said she might have been right. Since when?
  5. I completely agree. What was with Richard's attraction to all of them even with Adele's history, she was known for being very hard on the nurses that were under her when she was still working at the hospital back in the day. Plus, she should have left Richard a long time ago, he knew about he affair and the reason they didn't have children because Richard didn't feel worthy enough to be a dad since he was a cheater. Ellis was someone I don't even know how Thatcher stood her and then add in Catherine... just yikes. Especially with her going on about needing a better chief of surgery. She can't name herself as it because it is a major conflict of interest.
  6. I completely agree and now they are getting her and Sanjay together. They have either written her as "the smart girl can't dress or knows how to get a guy." To the fact it's: "I'm smarter than you!" They should have just had be awkward but you know... dating or doing it where Phil and Claire and yes, Haley aren't constantly acting like they don't know how to relate to her or calling her a social moron.
  7. Look! Another set of interns who have a lot to learn *rolls eyes*. Otherwise despite everything, good episode and of course Maggie just got bad news, she is a Grey, when you are a Grey tragedy waits behind you like a shadow and then strikes. Then your next answer is: "I'm fine, I won't talk about it until a real bonding moment."
  8. That is why I ranted on principals on ABC shows. It is getting ridiculous, its not funny when they do stupid things like this and also say something even more stupid like: "I could be seeing a floor tile demonstration." or my favorite on The Middle: "I could be ruining my ex-wife's second marriage." Trust me, I've seen some bad principals but even they would never say or do something like this. Basically we are to see school principals either so stuck on "the rules" for school or they have nothing better to do in their lives than do things that would make people go: "What is wrong with you?"
  9. I know its because of casting but I have known, grew up with and seen many kids where you go: "Those are your parents?" and vice versa. I seen very heavy people have incredibly skinny and hot offspring and then I've seen ones that look great, work out, have good jobs and then their kids not only don't look like them but have no personality that is close to them. It happens, genetics are funny that way.
  10. Luke still is having a talking problem and I noticed that Gould does roll his mouth a lot when he talks. I wonder if he had oral surgery for his wisdom teeth or something.
  11. At this point in time, I think the writers don't even know how long Manny was in Colombia. I can get the entire "Use it or you lose it" because I've known many friends of mine who were like that. However, its become pointless now. There were even episodes where Manny referred to being told he was great at his old Colombia elementary school until Gloria revealed it was a lie. She just told him he was like that when he couldn't even tie his shoes until almost 1st grade. Its not funny its kind of pathetic and you would think Javier would have had a problem with Manny not knowing their native language. Of course, Javier in season 1 was a not show and apparently a deadbeat and now he is something I look forward to seeing. I agree on all points, Gloria has two kids who are in the US and Jay is no spring chicken. He dies they would all be in trouble in one form or another. Loved the airport scene between Jay and the TSA worker.
  12. I remember in the early 80s when my best friend and I were kids. His older sisters who were teens constantly watched Mtv. We loved a few things but we were so sick of it because that was on all the time when they were at home. I know their parents got sick of it too. Now, granted flash forward a decade and my friend and I were watching it more in the late 80s to 90s but there was already that downshift from music videos to other shows. I remember when Real World and Road Rules started. I started watching Mtvs because of those and then maybe a half an hour with regular music videos before I got up and went outside. I get the new feel to it and why so many teen girls and guys were into it. However, Mtv is barely a spot of what made it a much watch of its generation.
  13. My family and I were on the floor with the video not to mention Bill and Murray's friendship moments. Sports and food and "ehs", I also got a kick out of the opening scene with the principal catching them and Barry going: "We were kissing and she is hot." He is the Sue Heck of The Goldbergs.
  14. Had a friend of mine who went a school like that. If you weren't on the football or basketball team you were considered a lost cause. Same went for the girls in soccer or basketball. He has said that has changed since it was 20 years ago but its shocking that things were like that but then again if you were going to have a baby and were a teacher you were told to resign. That did take me out of the episode a bit since it was a girl vs a guy, my wife did crack up several times with Alex on the treadmill. Her line: "couldn't wardrobe have found a better sports bra, she looks like she is about to flop out of that shirt."
  15. That wasn't a bad episode and I really enjoyed Cam and Mitch's take on things. This was a funny episode, especially at the end with everyone but Sanjay's mom liking the ending. However, the principal is a moron. What is with ABC having all school principals being guys that probably cheated getting their Type 75s? I mean, upset he missed a tile demonstration? Because you know, school principals just sit in their office or monitoring halls and giving detentions. They have no lives. *rolls eyes*
  16. Ok, that I can believe. Especially when the fact that Javier is showing up in this episode too.
  17. I completely agree, I remember that episode and going: "How is that fair?" Of course Uncle Phil sometimes got carried away on: "His house, his rules." There were times where Will and Carlton really didn't do anything that a normal teen or college kid would do and then he blew up. Yet, with the kids being punished for how Will was dressing and acting really went against all of that. Like I said with the Wife and Kids show a few years ago, this reminded me of that.
  18. Exactly! I'm not a lawyer but really this just didn't make sense. Especially when they were trying to get the charge because the main alabi ended up dying over years years ago from an OD on her own. Especially when it seemed that the defendant had been out of the business two years later before before she died from over using. Like I said, more like Matan was trying to get him on something he left behind. Plus, there was plenty of evidence that it was someone from the bachelor party but no one cared. The defendant just sadly was next to the alley dealing and he had kicked the guy out before the said fight happened a couple hours later. We also never heard the reason why the guy who died was even in the fight to begin with. Seemed like he didn't want to get the real person who beat him up arrested for some reason. Yet, that wasn't even brought up.
  19. Of course, remember folks if you are a "nerd" you can't do PE or any type of sports, remember. That is just ridiculous they both are tied except for the gym grade. That is so contrived even for this show. Also, Gloria is studying for her US citizen test? Um... she has been married to Jay how long and they had a kid together. I have no problem seeing Javier though.
  20. This was a nice episode and I love how they were making fun on Kate's look and how she can do police work in high heels and still manage great hair. Oh Martha, we love you. I figured that Espo didn't like sketch comedy since he is a huge spanish soap opera fan. Ryan was doing great.
  21. The more it went on, the more it wasn't the bouncer but someone at the bachelor party who was not happy over something. It also seemed like they were trying to get the bouncer because he was a drug dealer and they wanted to get him. Of course, six years later he has gotten out of the business, gotten married and had kids. However, much like with lawyers and people in the "business" they want to nail them to the wall over something. I agree, if the bouncer would have been exposed as a dealer he would have gone to jail over other stuff and not the beat down.
  22. Sounds like with the secret detaining is going right back to the season premiere with Cary. The corrupt police detective pretty much laughed at him, called him a moron and he was sick of people like him "hiding" behind the law. Refusing to give Cary his phone call, putting him in the mix in record time and Geneva could have cared less. I knew they weren't going to drop that.
  23. I got a kick out of Lisa calling grandpa out on all his various military duties but yes, it was a boring episode. So, Rod wants to grow up and marry his father. Wow!
  24. It wasn't a bad episode at all. I actually laughed when Zach said he was coming home and Alicia just turned his room into her new office. However, I think it was also kind of stupid of her. What she think would happen once the school year was over? The flashbacks worked very well in tone and sequence but the new lawyer and her selfies. That was too much, being a little naive about practicing law and a few other things, that would have been enough. Matan just doesn't learn does he? Of course how many of these characters have done stupid things and still don't learn from them? The case trying to be tried again was a little too much. There were tons of holes then and there were now. "He died from a hemorrhage from the fight six years ago." Really? If it was such a concern or known fact, wouldn't he had regular check ups after being in such a bad beat down? I guess if he would have died in a car accident they could have said he wasn't paying attention because of his injuries from six years ago too. I mean, come on. The way it kept looking, he was in the alley but not in the fight and who ever it was had a beef with the guy who was attacked and the friends knew who it was. Yet, blame the guy who was dealing drugs because that's easier.
  25. I agree, Gloria has a great backstory and even Phil said it all paid off later with Jay and Joe. However, I am getting tired of her: "I'm so tired after watching the baby when Andy does half of the work. I get the point especially considering how old Jay is. Even saying how he hopes to at least see Joe make it through high school. But really, Gloria doesn't have any hobbies or even tries to work something on the side. What's going to be her excuse in two more years when its time for Joe to start kindergarten? Of course that is if the show lasts that much longer. I get at least Claire and Cam going back to work, it felt organic but really, Claire should not be stressed over the crap she deals with now.
