  1. I loved this smirk when Soldier Boy told Homelander how weak he was. Must have been very satisfying to hear!
  2. I agree that they should have given her more to do than just react to everything that HL did to her. And every time Maeve makes a move or takes a stance that SL doesn't agree with it's always "oh, I thought you were a hero" or "wow, you're just a phony" blah, blah, blah. She's done it in every season and Maeve always comes back later with "you're right" and it's so aggravating. I'm glad that Maeve got her pound of flesh from HL before she disappeared. He healed from the fight but she did a fair amount of damage.
  3. Homelander aside nothing that we've seen of Soldier Boy shows him to be worse than Noir, Translucent, Deep or A-Train and all that we know about Payback is that they hated him. That doesn't mean that they weren't as bad as he was, they just weren't as powerful as him which made them unable to fight back. All we got was lip service from other characters on how godawful he was while we've actually seen the other Supes be gleefully shitty and not give a fuck about it. IMO of course.
  4. It seemed to me that during his scenes with Butcher he was trying to open up but Butcher's narrow focus on endlessly reminding him that HL wasn't his family and that he had to stick to the plan made him close off. That was a good scene but it only scratched the surface to what made SB tick. Also, if Butcher had told SB his reasons for wanting HL dead beyond him wanting some payback he may not have attacked HL while Ryan was present. He may not have cared but there's a chance that he would have.
  5. I hope that at least one person mentions this next season. They've wanted to write Butcher off numerous times during his vengeance quest against Homelander (admittedly because he's an asshole) but as soon as MM reveals that he was wronged by a Supe they're all in. And the Supe that they decided to go after isn't into world domination like the other guy. Unbelievable.
  6. Yikes. They really jammed alot into this season and so much could have been left out including Deep's random stupidity and A-Train's everything. Personally, I felt that the MVP's of the ep were Soldier Boy and Queen Maeve for being the only ones to stick to the agreed upon agenda with an honorable mention to Hughie. I knew that something ridiculous would have to happen in order for Butcher to take his eye off of the prize and Ryan was it. He's frequently a hypocrite but this was just a new level of stupid for him. He kept getting hints from SB and Hughie flat out told him that he didn't want to kill Homelander now that he knew that he was the only family that he had left. Butcher kept pushing and pushing until he agrees...only to turn on him when he's actually going to do it??!! What the actual fuck, Butcher. All of the boys deserve whatever is coming to them. And is Butcher dying from the V? What was the scene with the doctor telling him he had 12-18 months left? Have to add that Jensen killed it this season. I knew that he would because I'm a huge fan, but he exceeded my expectations. It sucks that they put him back in the chamber; I agree with those who said that they would have rather seen him escape. I am glad that they didn't kill him off, though.
  7. God, I hope not. I hate this idea. Maeve has had no beef with SB and her only comment about him was her dismay over hearing that he was still alive because it meant that there was no HL killing weapon. I hope that the slugfest will be between her and HL.
  8. What a great post @Bergamot! Benny is definitely Dean’s Frenchie! Now I’m head canoning Soldier Boy leaving Russia and heading to Louisiana to see if his vamp friend that he met way back in the day is still alive and kicking 😊
  9. It would be nice to see Stan again in the finale but Kripke has apparently said that he wouldn't be back this season. That sucks because I would love to see that way that he would spin everything that's happened while he's been gone.
  10. Annie already told Instagram about Soldier Boy killing the people at Herogasm and Ashley told A Train that the official story was going to be that Blue Hawk was one of Soldier Boy's victims. The world is already going to know that Soldier Boy exists and I assume that if Homelander wanted to run with the fact that he's his father they will have an answer to the questions as to where he's been.
  11. I'd rather see MM back with his family and creepy Todd out of the picture than this happening.
  12. I'm wondering how the bombshell of Homelander's parentage will be revealed. I'm thinking that he'll bring Soldier Boy onto Cameron Coleman's show as a way to boost the damage to his image with the addition of the 1st American hero and his father to boot. That would be a good way to get the boys back together if they're all watching when the news breaks because I'm at a loss as to how they will rejoin Butcher and Hughie.
  13. I'm also wondering if A-Train's near death experience and his grief over his brother's condition will cause him to fully commit to his redemption or if his renewed health will encourage him to continue on as he has been.
  14. I agree especially with the bolded points. I knew that SB was going to be a villain but I had hoped for him to be more in the grey area. I didn't think that they would go full scale evil after doing the same with Stormfront.
  15. I forgot to add that I've always loved Crimson and Clover. Damn you Homelander for ruining it!
  16. Wow, what an ending. I've read the speculations online and I had an inkling myself, but I didn't think that they would go there and reveal that Soldier Boy was actually Homelander's father. I suppose it makes sense with the comments from HL about being born in a tube, raised in lab and his mirror convo about being fixated on mommy and daddy in the last ep. As interesting as it would have been to see him depowered even briefly, I was skeptical that they would actually do it. Jensen and Kripke did warn us that Soldier Boy was not a good guy with no redeeming qualities and boy did we see that in this episode! It felt a little strange seeing Jensen play a character that's such a piece of shit, but he really sold it because SB is absolutely loathsome. Seeing Butcher's upbringing really made me feel for him and it explains so much about why he turned out the way that he did. And then he decided to lie to the only person in the world that gives a shit about him at the moment about a literal life or death situation and all of my empathy went out of the window. What the actual fuck, Butcher. Glad to see that Maeve is still around and I'm wondering if she and Noir will join the fight against Homelander and Soldier Boy in the finale.
  17. My favorite SPN ep and I always rec it heavily to new viewers. Thanks for giving me validation 😊
  18. Thanks @gonzosgirrl, @Myrelle and @Nick24 for your thoughts. You've given me some good suggestions to recommend, My default is always Nightshifter and Faith but I just wanted a few opinions on strong season 1 eps to watch out for to keep him going.
  19. The first ep that I watched was Mystery Spot and it drew my interest because it made me think of one of my favorite X-Files eps "Monday" which had the same premise but was much darker. I was even more impressed when I realized that X-Files alum (Kim Manners and John Shiban) were involved, and it made me want to watch from the beginning. He has mentioned that his wife watches Walker and that he thinks that it's an awful show and has stopped watching it with her. *snicker* With that and his appreciation of Soldier Boy I wondered if I should rec some Dean centric eps to hook him in after the pilot or just let him binge the 1st season and see what he thinks.
  20. I'm definitely going to start with the pilot to introduce him to the characters. I personally felt that after the pilot season 1 lagged until Scarecrow but I stuck with it because I loved Dean. When I convinced my boss to start watching she started to lose interest because she didn't care for the eps that followed the pilot and I suggested Faith which hooked her back into the show. I just wanted to get a few thoughts on what to suggest in case my coworker has the same reaction.
