  1. Why is it that the more I learn about the characters on this show, the less intrigued I become with them? I've held in there for Red all this time, but it's becoming more and more difficult.
  2. I just knew the elderly lady was a dead person when she saw Elizabeth without a disguise. I do have some questions about that mission though. First of all, when Elizabeth left the lady to get her a glass of water, did that lady write something in those files? She had a pen in her hand and when Elizabeth returned she placed the file behind her. She had enough time to write a description of the Elizabeth and a brief description of what had happened. She didn't have a name or other details at that point, but if someone checks that file, it could spell trouble. Am I reading too much into this? My next question is about Philip repairing the robot. How would he have training to repair, basically, a computer? He left Russia many years ago, so how would he have those expertise? Also, initially, Philip and Elizabeth were told that Martha would be dealing with the robot. So, is that still on or what? Was that task then delegated to Philip, since he ended up there in the repair shop? I want to know when they are going to teach Martha how to pass a polygraph. I would think they would be doing that pronto. When Philip and the older man were playing scrabble, he said Elizabeth had rejected the first person that was to play her husband. That doesn't ring true to me, based on the scenes they have shown previously of Philip meeting Elizabeth. It didn't appear to be an optional thing to me. I wonder if that was a way to make Philip feel closer to Elizabeth, so that he might lean more towards her desires to bring Page on board with her agenda. I do wish Philip would be more careful with his words to this man. I hope Philip doesn't forget that he can be taken down too. He needs to play it smart. What was that look that Gaad gave the new guy when Stan left the room? Did he have doubt the incident went down the way Stan claimed or was he concerned about Stan's competence? Sorry for so many questions, but this show really gets me to thinking. lol
  3. I also think they are wasting valuable time on Stan and his lamenting over the loss of his marriage. I have zero interest in seeing his ex-wife. Enough already. Would it be too much for Philip to send Stan a nice, friendly, attractive Soviet spy, I mean lover? It seems like a missed opportunity to me. I have a difficult time imaging Stan working undercover in Arkansas as part of a KKK type organization. With his accent? How would he fit in? I live in the south and his accent is obviously not southern. I can't envision Stan in that undercover role.
  4. Yes, so with Gaad looking bad, it might be a good time to find out a little more about this new agent. I'm not saying that Gaad or Stan would set him up to take the fall, but if Philip gets the heads up, he could set up this new agent and that would take the heat off Martha.
  5. So, is the consensus with Martha's conduct after the bug is found that she now realizes Clark is not who he said he was and that he is a spy who has dooped her OR is she scared that much of her husband's value of her as a wife is based on her usefulness to him and now that she is not useful, he may abandon her? I thought she was scared the FBI may come to her house ad that's why she wanted to go to Clark's, but after seeing it, she wanted to return to her apt., so was that just a test to see if he really did have an apt as he had said? So, now that he met that test, who will she believe? She certainly loves Clarke I can't imagine her betrayal of him unless she's certain of his intentions. There is no way that Philip would not have realized some big happened with Martha at work. I didn't buy him treating it so casually. No way, in my mind. Someone will have to work with Martha and teach her how to pass a polygraph though agents have failed polygraphs and remained in their positions before for unknown reasons.
  6. I got the impression that Mike was faking that he was drinking himself to death. That would give him a good reason to not deal with the DIL and a excuse to observe and snoop without arousing suspicion. And a good way to pull the killers in, unaware that he had them in his cross hairs. Nonetheless, I really am loving this show. Would Mike's DIL really be so clueless? Scary.
  7. Janelle admitted that Meri had extended the olive branch to her, but she would not accept. Then in the counseling session, when there is so much to discuss, Janelle is still upset about some comments from Meri in the kitchen from 12 years ago. She's made other comments this season too. plus her walk out on the graduation practice session. IMO, it's petty. I never saw it before, but it's holding her back. I always wondered why she seems helpless when dealing with rude, aggressive, angry sons, but now I get it. I think that behavior is condoned in that household.
  8. I'll just add to the totally ridiculous way they portrayed the police go after a poor woman, like Anna who works for an upscale family just so they can prosecute her for killing a serial rapist!!!!!!! (With no real evidence.) Please. And the story the police told about that since Green's death became well known more and more of his victims were coming forward with their story...WHAT? No way that makes sense. If you found out the rapist was dead, you would want to let it rest and move on without telling anyone. There is no point, since others are not in danger and there will be no prosecution. It makes no sense to come forward after the rapist is dead. When I am insulted as a viewer, it really annoys me.
  9. Didn't Janelle show an unattractive side this season though? She seems to be a lot more immature than I had thought. It seems she harbors a lot of resentment. I think it might be an issue with her sons too. I'm glad she's getting that therapy.
  10. What are the chances of Robyn's kids' bio dad digging his heels in to assert his parental rights after getting that kind of dis on their tv show? I don't know if any of the allegations Robyn makes about the man are true or not, but it does seem like she wants to wash him away. It's like her tag line says, They should have been together from the start. If something happens to Kody and Robyn, where do the kids go to live, assuming Kody has adopted the 3 older ones? Meri, Janelle, Christine or Robyn's or Kody's parents? Janelle has always been a favorite of mine, but this season, it seems like she's turned out to be a very selfish and stubborn person. It's not appealing, IMO. Maybe I was wrong about her.
  11. This season finale actually cemented what I was already feeling about the show this season. Sadly, I can barely tolerate a scene with Anna and Bates anymore. It's not their fault, but loopy writing. I really wish they were not the last two to appear on screen. Their murder story line is so bizarre that I won't even go there. Just make it go away. It's now rather funny. Regardless of their innocence, their propensity to appear in murder cases would make them undesirable as house staff. Is Bates really that much taller than Anna? Hmmm...... Mary's romantic shenanigans are so dull. When she was trying to make the gentlemen feel uncomfortable while shooting, she seemed to think that makes her more appealing. And then the gentlemen seems to agree. No way. Please,....let her just give up on finding a suitor. She's more amusing just being a witch. Daisy is just about as annoying as Mary. I wish her well, but wish she had gone to live in London like she threatened to do. I just don't find her charming at all. Maybe she would be better suited on the farm or living in London. I must be the only person show wouldn't mind seeing Tom leave. I wish he would leave Sybbie in England, but he's not that amusing to me. Recall how useless he was was when his lady friend insulted his family at he dinner table, multiple times. Why couldn't he set her straight? He's not that appealing to me. I do like Carson, Miss Hughes. Edith, Isobel and Violet. (I would never believe Violet would allow her staff that much rope. Never.) I've just lowered my expectations, but will look forward to the series finale. It can still be salvaged.
  12. I love the show. I can imagine why it might not appeal to a large population, though. It requires a lot of thought. That seems to turn off a lot of viewers. I also don't think many younger viewers want to watch a show where cell phones were not yet common.
  13. ABSOLOM, ON 16 FEB 2015 - 3:29 PM, SAID: Edited by Squirrely, February 22 2015. 05:56 PM. Very true. Don't be fooled. The Bates may seem pretty nice, but they are hardcore. They have never pretended otherwise.
  14. If Hakam and Fatah are one and the same person, then why did Nick call and report that Hakam had arrived? I don't get it.
  15. I've seen convictions on less evidence, but it is al old case. That may make a difference. I ask myself how good is my memory about things that happened in the early 1980's. Mine isn't that good, though you would be more likely to recall things that important about a murder. My question is why they never seemed to address the report the neighbor lady made about a strange man coming to the door a few days prior to the murder. Did they every figure out who that was? Did I miss it? It seemed like they just brushed right by that one.
  16. How would the fulcrum have relevant information on it today? Wouldn't most of the people be dead or retired?
  17. Well, Kelly said it was because she grew up eating frozen dinners. Plus, IMO, if you can afford to feed horses, dogs and other pets, then your own kids should come first. A child who is at least 8 years old and has never seen broccoli??? That's pretty sad. You can buy large bags of it in bulk. Green beans aren't expensive either. I just don't understand how parents can boast about their large family and yet the kids were fed garbage for years.
  18. I just love this show! Yes, Whitney is immature and imperfect, but that's part of the interest for me. I think she will grow and that's part of the entertainment. At least she got a job with this reality show. Nice pay check if you're unemployed. I would imagine that getting a job isn't easy when you're that obese. If you teach dance classes, I don't think you're lazy. When you grow up in a family with the means to overindulge, it can have negative consequences. I think that may have happened with Whitney. Still, she's putting herself out there. Not many people can show that vulnerable side in public. I don't see it as her being happy she's obese. She admits she isn't. She says she needs to lose weight. A hundred pounds is a good place to start. Obesity is a complex condition and nobody knows all the answers. At least she's trying to move move, earn a living and create some motivation in desperately depressed people. I think that's a great thing. Plus, she has an infectious laugh. She even made The Soup last week! That's a great sign. The show is filmed in my home state, so maybe I'm prejudiced, but I do hope you guys will give it another chance. Then if you still don't like it, so be it. IMO, it's better than at least 75% of the other reality shows.
  19. I've watched all the episodes over the years, but I guess I've forgotten some of the content. Yesterday, I saw one where Cora Beth was drinking too much. Man, the language in that episode really blew me away. I mean for that time period, 1978, little Amy said, My mother is drunk! And Cora Beth told Mr. Godsey to just take a gun and shoot her in the head! WHOA, this is 1970's family drama! I'm not sure how it was lost on me at the time. I was also impressed at the way John kept telling the couple they needed help.
  20. Oh my. I missed the first part of the show, I didn't realize the boys went to private school. All that drama when they could enroll in public school and avoid all that stress and time away from home. If you can't afford it, then do something else.
  21. How can a wife/mother of over 20 years claim she doesn't know much about cooking healthy food? Wouldn't you think that after all those years as wife and mother you would learn how to prepare a nutritious meal? So what if you ate frozen dinners growing up. That's just a lazy excuse, IMO.
  22. When they brought up the teen who killed his classmate as a suspect, I was all in. I had already seen a documentary about that guy and his buddy and man.......talk about sick. I just knew I was going to see a huge announcement with a new murder discover, but nooooooo..... I couldn't believe it. I guess it goes to show that someone can look so guilty, but yet not be guilty. Thank God for DNA as so many have said. My hometown had two women raped and murdered in their beds from 2002-1010. It took years to solve the first one. It turned out he was a serial killer. He had murdered another woman in another state years earlier. He committed suicide in jail. The other killer is in prison for life. Both were strangers who just happened to get lucky with an unlocked window and door. It shatters your sense of safety. I'm so glad when they catch monsters like this. It's really the worst kind of crimes, IMO.
  23. From what I have head Jewel say, she grew up in Alaska living off the land. I haven't heard the one about her living in a car. I did see Jewel and her dad, Atz, perform the theme song from the show in a club sometime last year. They both seemed very fond of each other. They were pretty good, except that Jewel had a dress on that as so short it looked very uncomfortable. That kind of surprised me.
  24. I'm annoyed when they have Roman doing things that just aren't that smart, when we know he's a better cop than that. He's not an idiot so why would he run around on his job and argue with his ex like a teenager? And why would he go full speed into a rigged house? It makes no sense, IMO. Can someone tell me why Burgess was looking into the mirror at the end of the episode? What was she contemplating? Was she proud, afraid, ???? I didn't get it.
  25. I'm trying to get some background on Christine's parents. Does anyone know where her father is and if her mom still supports polygamy?
