I definitely think Greg dodged a bullet. Imagine forgetting to pick up milk, the attitude Katie would give about how you clearly weren’t considering her when you didn’t do what she needed you to do. She’s exhausting!!

It’s not a good look from Katie to be this pissed off at Greg. If she and Blake are truly happy and in love, there’s no reason for so much vitriol.

I have never liked the Bachelor Handshake, but it’s soooooooper tacky in an evening gown.

LOL…I choose to believe that Neil Lane has been kept informed about how the show is going, and figured the COVID related risks were not worth showing up for Katie’s non-engagement. I would almost feel sorry for Katie if I didn’t find her so insufferable.

Katie is quoted somewhere on SM saying that she should have let her heart heal before she spoke (on ATFR), so she’s clearly going to rip into Greg. Between that, and all the crap people are giving him on SM, I think he’s taken a lot of grief…especially considering that Katie just did for Blake what she refused to do for Greg just a day or two before. Gaslighting my eye.

First of all, Greg was right in what he told her last week, and was right to leave when he did. Ditto for Michael A. Second, I could never do one of these shows. If I were in the position of someone like Justin, as soon as the lead said, “Can we talk?”, I’d be like, “NOPE!” and walk away.

Poor Justin…all this way for nothing.

Backtracking on my opinion here…

I really disliked Josh’s avant-garde look. I had envisioned the ruffle/frill being full and lush, and somehow I thought he meant for it to go down one arm only? I also thought the white fabric he used for it was too much of a contrast to the red coat, and it looked cheap as well. Still, I’d have kept him over Princess Sparkle Andrea.
-
Oh, me too! He just seems like such a genuine person. I am pretty tired of Andrea P’s transparent pants. Nearly every challenge (I’m probably exaggerating, but I feel like it’s true) she has shown a pair of sheer trousers. She did in episode one, she did in episode three, she did here in episode five. Someone should really be calling her out on that.

Also, I love Gary and he needs to win this.

As much as I love back-to-back episodes, them being only four weeks in and down to so few designers feels way too fast. My hope is that Project Runway starts back soon and maybe they are pushing out the episodes more quickly to avoid both being on at the same time and thus inviting comparisons. With that said, in a lot of ways I actually prefer this show. I like the lack of backstage drama, the seamstresses, the less gimmicky challenges (although they have led to some incredibly iconic designs in the past, I’m just not crazy about the designers fighting each other for garbage or car parts), and the fact that they don’t seem to be restricted by budget, nor as much by time. No, “Here’s $63.29, now make us a gown that this week’s guest judge Disney star/cartoon character will wear on the red carpet! You have 6 hours!” I really don’t love Tim or Heidi, though, and I adore Christian Siriano, so…

I was shocked that they let Joshua go and kept Andrea…or On-dray-uh. I mean, he totally missed the mark, for sure, but hers was so incredibly boring and basic. He may have many ideas, but she didn’t have any beyond “oooh, sparkly!”

Season 18: Spoilers and Speculation
CraftyHazel replied to ApprenticeFan's topic in The Bachelorette
I thought there were a few cute guys in there (hello, PJ!), but a couple were extremely underwhelming. But they’re not choosing for me, so who cares what I think? And I’m old enough to be mama to any one of them, so I’m not even looking for leftovers, lol. -
Didn’t Michael say he wasn’t going to have his son be there for hometowns (which proves he’s got James’ best interests at heart), and therefore he would not be seeing him in a week? I swear I heard that.
-
Now I feel like a sap, because Michael has me tearing up with him.
-
Thank goodness I’m not the only one! Between his nastiness on Under the Gunn and how truly awful he was to Swapnil on Project Runway, I think he’s honestly just a pretentious, elitist prick. When he pulls out the quivering chin/choked up Uncle Tim persona, I just want to reach through my TV and smack him upside the head. He’s a massive phony.
-
Let’s be real…she deserves to end up with Blake. The rest of these guys deserve better.

What a conversation WRT: Michael A’s wife. I actually teared up. He and Greg are definitely too good for Katie, but I do give her credit for stopping the game when Michael was tackled so hard.

I don’t think Jeanette called in any tip. If she wanted to see Kate rescued, it would have been easy enough to save her when she heard her, and let the consequences of being in Martin’s house be damned…after all, she’d be a hero, and the consequences would be minimal at worst. No, she’s a straight up sociopath, and left Kate there to suffer.
-
How did I somehow know that Jeanette wasn’t so innocent after all??

I’m going out on a limb and say that “Jackie Kennedy” should have been counted as a wrong answer. The question referred to her second marriage, so referring to her by her first married name seems incorrect. And I’m old enough to recall her being called Jackie O in her later years.

I think Jeannette gets her weird, awkward personality from her dad.

LOL…except in 1994, Amazon really was a small business that sold books. In 1993, it didn’t even exist. I hadn’t really thought about the issues of tampons, makeup, and clothing for a teenaged, female hostage. In the mid-90s, you didn’t really order everything online and have it shipped to your home. I suppose he could have ordered her clothing from catalogs, but wouldn’t the catalogs even raise questions around town? Like, why is the new, single male school principal getting Delias catalogs and shipments? Kate packed a really small bag, after all…she was going to need more clothing, underwear, etc. at some point in time. I guess the town isn’t all that small, and he could be buying jewelry and clothing for a girlfriend. But feminine hygiene products, that would raise an eyebrow or two.

When I first watched this, I kind of agreed with you, but now I’m not so sure I do. He possibly thought she would go to school the next day and things would turn out fine, but really? If anyone asked Kate where she spent the night and she naively said, “Oh, Mr. Harris let me sleep on his couch”, he’s still going to be fired, possibly arrested, and certainly ruin his career. And Kate seems like the kind of girl who would be dropping that truth bomb without necessarily believing she was doing any harm. After all, he’s a respected authority figure, and he was only being helpful, right? (I know he wasn’t, I’m saying a 16-year-old girl might believe that.) But say she spends the night, goes to school the next day, and manages to keep a secret from absolutely everyone in her life that she spent that night at Martin Harris’s home. I think it’s extremely unlikely, since she got in an online chat room and spilled the tea, couldn’t wait to tell Mama that she thought her Dad was cheating on her based on a scrap of one-sided conversation she overheard, etc., but let’s suppose she does keep the secret. Martin knows, though, and so does Kate. And there will gradually be enough of an obvious connection to stir a rumor or two, especially after all of her young friends and their parents admit that she wasn’t with them. Gossip runs rampant at that age. So I think she would finally confide in at least one friend, or her boyfriend. And all it takes is one. Martin also, upon letting Kate in the house, cast a very furtive glance around the neighborhood, to make sure no one saw. He had to know that once she set foot inside, alone, there was no turning back. He didn’t lure her there that night specifically, but he did set himself up as her savior, her shoulder to cry on, so that at the first sign of trouble she’d turn to him. And that’s just what she did. So although he could try to paint himself as a victim of circumstances (and did so, quite successfully I might add, with Kate), he baited a trap for Kate the minute he laid eyes on her. There’s nothing less than calculating about Martin Harris. He had every opportunity to do the right thing…and 1993 wasn’t so long ago that he could have been unsure about what that right thing was…and chose to do the wrong one every single time.
