  1. Did the daughter's husband have all the money in their relationship? Because if he didn't, I don't understand why the son had to have help to fund his business idea, unless the son was just so terrible with money that he'd blown through it already. And if that's true, it seems like the dad was throwing good money after bad by giving him even more money via the insurance settlement. And speaking of the insurance settlement, I wonder how the company feels about the daughter not being charged with fraud. I suppose her plea deal had some sort of accommodation for that, even if we didn't hear about it. A feeding tube isn't necessarily a good thing. It can be uncomfortable, develop an infection at the site, etc. I know the show doesn't have time anymore to go into much (if any) nuance, but Nolan's brother could have raised at least one of these points. I guess I should be glad Nolan eventually got over himself and realized it was the best thing for his father to let him die with a level of comfort.
  2. This case felt a bit dated. Ugh, I don't care about Nolan's dying father. If the dad is old and his body is shutting down, what's the problem with hospice? The dad is going to die no matter what. Make his final days comfortable. It's a tough decision, yes, but Nolan needs to think about what his father needs, not what Nolan needs. The young second wife just vanished after she talked to Price and Shaw. I'd think she might have some idea of what was happening with her husband's illness. And they totally wasted Zeljko Ivanek.
  3. It's the LA equivalent of the writing workshop in NYC.
  4. I saw the first half of the show, and LOL that Carly and Brennan are sipping Champagne on the Q patio. Cody is such a manchild. Are we sure he's not actually Sonny's son instead of Mac's? What a whiner! I really like Maxie as her cohort's agony aunt, as it were. She knows everyone, their histories, and has become surprisingly sensible about things. I also think KSt has a terrific warmth that really comes through.
  5. He's not, and that's fine. And that's what he told Dante. My beef is that he's making his problems less grave than Dante's. They're not. Perspective is good, but he shouldn't downplay big issues just because he thinks someone else is worse off. It's not a competition. It's not as if Chase would be whining that his diamond shoes are too tight and his wallet's too small for his $50s. With Michael in a coma, Willow essentially does have sole custody. Making it legal for the time being to keep the Qs and Corinthii from meddling (as if, but you know what I mean) isn't a bad idea. And I doubt Willow wouldn't allow Michael custody when/if he does return. Everyone is acting as if Willow is using the kids as a weapon when it's everyone else using them against her.
  6. In NYC we ended up getting the last half of the show. LOL that Jason thinks he can go to Germany and talk to Michael without Carly sniffing him out. If he's anywhere near her, she has an internal tracker that will find him. It's gross Jason thinks Sasha might be lying that she and Michael agreed she would raise the kid by herself. At least Diane made the point that Michael had ample chance to tell her and make arrangements. You know, Chase, your problems are as important to you as Dante's are to him. Maybe you're not ready to talk yet, but don't diminish your concerns. I hate when people do that.
  7. In NYC, at least, David Muir is still yammering. Perhaps affiliates can choose how much of a news interruption to show.
  8. Head's up to anyone in the 3 p.m. viewing audience: Right now there's an NTSB briefing on the terrible aviation accident in D.C. So far no note that there show will air tonight on the app.
  9. Now that I remember Sam and Patrick happened (heh), I thought they were fine. But they were also so obviously placeholders for when Jason and Robin eventually returned. That's not the actors' fault, of course, but it did give them a temporary feel, which wasn't helped by the fact that they were together only about 18 months. Putting Michael's children's well-being first is protecting Michael's interests. And that means they should be with Willow. The kids already don't have their father; now they have to have limited contact with their mother because people hate who she's currently sleeping with?
  10. Can you blame her? Ted King was hot like fire (and still is). This is so stupid. No one cares who you cheat with unless it's someone who will actively put any kids in danger. (Insert usual caveats about Sonny's lifestyle affecting all those around him.) Sasha has become as unpleasant as Drew with her hypocrisy. I alternately laughed and rolled my eyes at how anvilcious that was. Subtle GH is not. As the poster who started this, I ask: When was the last time we heard about Patrick and Sam living together? It's probably been more than a decade. And it's not as if Emma made any reference to that time when she was talking to Dante. This comes across as defensive, and I definitely don't mean it to. I just want to explain where I'm coming from. It's the show's fault for not putting that conversation into context, especially when there's a recast and the character is evolving somewhat away from an earlier depiction.
  11. Usual Revisionist Bullshit. Didn't Sam and Patrick live together for a while? I feel like this isn't really that far off the mark that she would have fond memories of her. I only just now remembered Sam and Patrick were a couple. D'oh! So of course she and Emma would have had a relationship.
  12. Were Sam and Emma close, or is that the usual revisionist b.s.? Ugh, Lulu, passive-aggressive much? It's not Anna's fault she shot Charlotte. How noble of Lulu to forgive Anna. I know I have a shriveled husk of a heart, and IDGAF either about BL and Chase's fertility issues. There's way, way, way too much emphasis put on babies on this fakakta show. UGH UGH UGH. I thought this was incredibly gross. As if being a mother to a nonbiological child is somehow less genuine an experience. I don't care that she's reeling from the news she (for now) won't have a child with Chase. Tracy is the last person I'd expect to be clutching pearls about Sasha's pregnancy and Willow's affair with Drew, but that seems to be who she is now. WTF? I do not like this Emma. She's oafish in way the child of Robin and Patrick shouldn't be, and she's kind of generally unpleasant, at least right now. And yet another terrible accent, this time German. What did Europe do to you, Frank, that you're punishing viewers like this? It looked like that guy was wearing thermal underwear as a uniform. LOL at Carly screaming at Brennan to wake up. She's obviously forgotten every bit of first aid she's ever known. Lulu might love Rocco, but she doesn't seem to do much parenting of him. Has she thought that maybe she could help him with his grief? I don't think her thoughts of him go past "I have a son...Ricky? Robby? No, his name is Rocco. Phew." I knew the near-death experience would lead to Carly and Brennan fucking.
  13. LOL. I'm sort of enjoying RS hamming it up here, but it's getting ridiculous that no one has seen her reactions. We've all known for a while that he's BL's sekrit teen-pregnancy baby, so let's get a move on with this. He knows Michael and Sasha slept together, so it's not some giant deductive leap. It's one thing to point out politely that the Manhattan was made wrong, but Tracy goes to Def Con 1 immediately. She's taking her frustrations about everything else out on Sasha, which is wrong. And Sasha was hired as the cook, not the housekeeper. Had Tracy been a little nicer about the drink, Sasha might not have refused to deal with the mouse, which she was totally within her rights to do. I HATE how they're writing Tracy with this stuff. Poor Jane Elliott, though of course being the pro she is, she goes all in. He was dreaming about Carly's allure, duh!
  14. My frickin' electric toothbrush came with a USB plug. It's small enough that there isn't that much inconvenience, but I don't understand the thinking behind this. Is it cheaper? It's a total pain.
  15. I'm surprised they didn't have her start to climb the ladder and then faint and fall off. Jason would catch her, of course.
  16. Does Gio know he was adopted? The way he's talked about his parents says no to me, but...? If he doesn't know, it'll be quite the double whammy to find it all out in one swell foop. I think they do, but Tracy is so over the top with how she's treating Willow. I'm surprised she isn't demanding Willow don the scarlet A for all to see. What I don't understand is why Drew isn't getting more contempt from everyone.
  17. What's the point of making someone a drink that they don't like? Tracy might have been too imperious in telling Sasha to remake it, but it's not wrong to want her Manhattan the way she wants it. "God knows what we're going to do with the adulteress in the gatehouse." Really, Show? Tracy deserves so much better than this crap. Why are they writing her as such an unpleasant person? Ugh. Olivia, SHUT UP ABOUT BABIES. I did have to laugh that she's all excited for the pitter-patter of little feet when she's running a daycare the way it is. If a man is dreaming about Carly, he needs a new dream.
  18. It is realistic Chase got his results over the phone, assuming they went through a patient portal. The show isn't going to have him say to Willow, "Oh, I got a message my tests are back; give me a minute to log into my portal and find the results." It's reasonable (to me) he showed them to her and she read them, but of course he needs to talk to his doctor for details, and there was a line that said his doctor had been trying to reach him. While that scene might not have been literally accurate, the gist of it was, IMO. A lot of patient portals have a caveat that test/lab results are posted before a doctor has seen them, so the patient reads them at their own risk.
  19. It's probably an American thing (speaking as an American). I just today got the results of my CT scan in my patient portal, and I likely won't hear an interpretation from my oncologist until at least tonight. I can get the gist of the results from reading it, since they're measuring tumors and spots and they say what has changed since the last scan, but I need her to tell me stuff that doesn't google into plain English definitions. And she puts in all into perspective for me, which is what I really need to know.
  20. They can tell me about Charlotte. I don't see to see Lulu off on yet another idiotic trip to not bring her daughter home. Ugh.
  21. Does this show remember this? What I would for someone (Tracy, ideally) to snap at him, "You may have the memories, but you don't know squat about them." Even now Jason interacts with his family only when absolutely necessary, and that includes his own damn son.
  22. That was ultra-annoying to me as well. Drew never knew any of the people he keeps yammering about, and he talks about them like he was there. I loved it when Curtis said, "But it's different because it's you" when Nina tried to justify not telling Willow about Nina sleeping with Drew. That's what decent friends do: Call the crap. I also like that Nina admitted her hypocrisy with a laugh. Those two work well together. I wish Nina had some better pants, though. If they hadn't made Sasha pregnant, Michael's departure would fit this idea nicely. Yeah, I think it's kind of gross how suddenly Monica gets all these mentions and it's because she has to have her grandchildren on standby for her instant gratification. Presumably she saw them every day before the Willow-Michael implosion—the Q mansion has been the PC daycare for years. I think she can deal with seeing them on a slightly less frequent basis. I have no problem, however, with her banning Drew from the property. Actions have consequences, my dude, and the Qs are known for petty vindictiveness.
  23. I'd be all for this except Carly would inevitably meddle in any relationship that Jax has that isn't with her. I'm tired of her juvenile actions toward men. At least Brennan keeps her occupied enough to ignore Sonny and Noted Bigot Natalia. Also, a real power player? Not while Sonny is still being absurdly propped as the fearsome crime head of the Eastern Seaboard.
  24. Willow, lock your front door. WTF was Noted Bigot Natalia babbling about to Lucy? I know she was trying to gloss over why she and Sonny were going to LA, but otherwise? Total nonsense. It's too much to ask that Sonny drop dead in LA, isn't it? Sigh. Wait, Lulu had an abortion? It's a good thing his wife had a secret baby when she was a teenager. From what I understand, children and parents are interchangeable, so Gio is already legally Chase's son. Kristina, the custody arrangement Sonny and Ava have for Avery is none of your business. The coddling of her, though, continues to be beyond gross. "If the Quartermaines think banning me from the property will stop me from seeing Willow, they've got another thing coming." OMG, Drew, how old are you? Of course there's no mention of Lulu spending time with Rocco while she's waiting for Charlotte to resurface.
  25. The Carlyfication starts at conception. Ugh. The 180 she's done on the Willow/Michael situation is so annoying. The story doesn't need her to put in her unwanted two cents. Shut up and be a decent friend. Who is, really? Port Charles is completely inhabited by total hypocrites. Brennan arranged things, but I don't think he's having the WSB pay for Michael's treatment or the transport. Given that the clinic isn't some supersekrit facility, it's not that egregious. Anyway, that's the MO of our independent leading lady: Carly never does anything that someone else can do for her.
