That cracked me up. Willow travels at least 8 hours to see Michael, gets told he doesn't want to see her, and instantly gives up and plans to go back to PC. Way to want to work things out! I wonder if nuMichael will just happen to be walking around the clinic and he sees Willow. It seems about time that the recast shows up. She's more inept than Shawn at trying to kill someone. Why Brennan hasn't cut her loose is a mystery. As it should. I'm all for bringing Drew down, but Nina. GURL. Try to come up with an idea that isn't galactically stupid. Bombing a penthouse seems a little extreme, even for Drew. Sidwell seems the more likely candidate, as we've seen he has no trouble being violent.
-
We'll find out Cyrus was working for Sidwell all along, no matter how nonsensical that is. It's GH!

Butter wouldn't melt in Lulu's mouth. She's writing about adoption because "it's an important topic"? Since when, for her? Ugh. OMG, Alexis, Noted Bigot Natalia's problems with Kristina were entirely Noted Bigot Natalia's fault. The slimefest between Brick and Carly was so gross. The German clinic receptionist could be bribed by Drew? I am profoundly vexed.
-
Ric scolded her for not having it in an offshore account, so my guess is she hasn't.

Lulu can't leave well enough alone, can she? She's the worst. Well, cut off my legs and call me Shorty! Sonny made it to LA for his surgery. I thought for sure he'd have to be treated in the Dr. Monica Quartermaine Cardiac Surgery Care Center he endowed. LOL at Cody's "Yeah, fair point" to BL when he didn't want to show his bare chest to her and she said, "Have you seen my husband?" Hee. We're probably supposed to think that Sonny has never been so vulnerable, but unless the show is keeping a massive secret that MB is leaving, we all know Sonny will survive, even if he has a few bumps along the way. And nothing will change: He'll still be in the mob, we'll still have to hear about [the project that shall not be named], etc. Ouch, Sonny didn't think about Jason once.

Laura doesn't share a grandson with Sidwell. I get why she doesn't want to actively go after Sonny or denigrate him, especially in public. Rocco is old enough to start questioning what Sonny does and how he's perceived, but of course the show won't dig into that. It must have freaked Drew out that Willow considered talking to Michael in the first place, instead of letting Drew arrange everything for her. I also liked that she admitted there was no love lost between her and AJ but that didn't mean he deserved what happened to him.

Michael's string of dead girlfriends certainly is, at least here. I find Boyle very similar to Drew; he's just a more overt sleazeball. I hope he's ready to turn on Drew the instant being Drew's toady isn't to his advantage.
-
It's so annoying we have no idea what Drew's motives are for a lot of this besides petty revenge. I'm sure that's a big part of it when it comes to Q matters, but what's his interest in Kai? The alternative location of the esplanade? (I'm with Tracy there: If I never hear the word esplanade again it will be too soon.) I find it very funny that Drew actually wants to be saddled with two kids who aren't his just to make a point. It would serve him right if Michael and Willow dropped dead and he was stuck with Wiley and Amelia.

Big of Drew to allow Willow to go to Germany. Ugh. His coercive control over her is so gross. Oh, look! Girl Reporter is back! And of course her story has ulterior motives. It took Portia long enough to realize the woman at the hotel bar was an escort.
-
Heh. If Michael had any brains, he'd make the kids staying in Port Charles non-negotiable in the custody arrangement. Though I honestly don't see Willow wanting to uproot the kids that much, even in her brainwashed thrall. I hope the recast gives us a Michael with more charisma.
-
I think Willow will go to Germany, and this is when we'll first see nuMichael. She used it in the past, but much more sparingly. Now it's become how she refers to Diane, which, NO.
-
It's those monstrously high heels she wears so that she can fit into the same shot as Kai. I know! It's amazing that doesn't happen more often. I was always impressed at KeMo's command of her sky-high stilettos.
-
Kai mentioned to Trina today he had a long talk with his parents about the surgery. And Portia did look over the research about the surgery. Kai is over 18, so it's his decision to make, however reckless. I am legit wondering if they'll have the surgery be a success, so Drew also gets a win, or if it will fail and Drew takes the L. Or it's a success and Kai is so anxious to get back on the field he does something that messes up his shoulder for good. Their scenes were so fun to watch. It was great that Ric knew as soon as he saw Alexis that she knew about Kristina. I was also relieved he told her he knew sooner rather than later. For me it's enough that Ric knows about Ava's blackmail of Alexis. He doesn't need to drag that out. His other points—Molly needs to know once and for all that Alexis will always cover for Kristina; Alexis is stealing from a child to protect—are better, IMO. Though I doubt Ace will ever be out on the streets, heh.

LOL that Nina thinks Drew will actually move to DC. (Does CamMat have one of his other gigs coming up?) I loved Ava swanning into Ric's hospital room—her outfit was hilariously garish. The way Portia said "specialist" made it sound as if GH was made up of only GPs. Jason as the town agony aunt is pretty funny. Why is Lucky telling Kristina not to talk about the accident? I don't understand his attitude at all. He doesn't owe Kristina anything. He's being very disrespectful to Elizabeth, the supposed love of his life. It should be up to her to decide if/how she wants Kristina to take responsibility. It was adorable when TA fell backward trying to sit down. That was obviously not planned. No one on this show ever learns that it's not the crime, it's the coverup.

Threatening Sonny's position as main philanthropist but also a bad guy in Port Charles. You know Sonny is annoyed that Jens underwrote the Nurses Ball before Sonny had a chance to.

Buttinski. Alexis does have an unfortunate habit of being attracted to terrible men, so Sidwell wouldn't be OOC as far as that goes. That being said, I still don't want to see those two as a couple. I still think her best pairing was with Ric, but they've thoroughly ruined that.
-
I loved Jason's expressions when Sasha tried to explain why she took Sidwell's money. It was like, "I can't believe what I'm hearing—each excuse is stupider than the next!" Well played, SBu. Well played. It's also warped thinking that taking money from Sidwell is somehow different from taking money from the Qs. It's still letting someone else have influence. If Sidwell wasn't in business with Deception, it wouldn't be such a big deal, but they are, and Noted Bigot Natalia said nothing. She knows what he is. NBN hasn't been a beacon of discretion lately. She had no trouble telling Sidwell that Sonny is having heart problems. Nice product placement for Lucy's sugar-free gummies.

It would have sounded better coming from someone whose parents aren't a neurosurgeon and medical researcher. Robin and Patrick no doubt make an excellent living, but it's nowhere near enough to buy their daughter back into college, especially someplace like Berkeley, which has zillionaire alumni up the wazoo. Emma kept her expulsion a secret, which is something I highly doubt Joss would do. Joss would play the martyr and insist she did nothing wrong—how dare she get tossed from school?! Emma is definitely privileged, but she seems to understand she has had some advantages. Joss thinks she hit a triple when she was born on third base.

America's Test Kitchen - General Discussion
dubbel zout replied to David T. Cole's topic in America's Test Kitchen
I enjoyed watching Keith make Liége waffles, but you need to buy the Belgian sugar online and have a Belgian waffle maker. I will not be making Belgian waffles. Anyway, I prefer my mom's waffles, which use beaten egg whites as a leavener. They are super crisp and delicious drowned in butter and maple syrup. There are so many really simple from-scratch brownie mixes that I don't see the point of a mix. That said, it's chocolate, so I will never say no to any brownie, LOL. I'm not a crepe person at all. I wish Erica would pull back that hank of hair that falls over her eye. And to continue my petty complaints, her voice drives me nuts. It's like her previous job was as a kindergarten teacher and she hasn't recalibrated her audience. -
Carlo Rota does twinkly evil very well. I enjoy him even as I find Sidwell a snore. This is another story where we the audience need to see what's up even if the characters don't yet know.
-
So Isaiah is a transplant surgeon and an ortho? Oh, GH. Of course Joss rolls her eyes when Emma rightly points out that "not everyone has a billionaire daddy who can buy them out of trouble." Joss never acknowledges her privilege. Did no one tell her in spy school not to use her handler's real name when she texts him? Lucy's possessiveness/jealousy over Sidwell is really unbecoming, especially for a woman her age. What is going on with Eva La Rue's makeup? She looks like she's been spackled with clay. This isn't the first time she's looked terrible. Natalia's estrangement from her kids is warranted. She's an idiot to let Jens manipulate her that way.

Two hours was a long way to go to find out the cop was the main perp. When the young woman was murdered so soon after running out of the precinct, I was surprised no one started thinking there was a leak there. How else would the news get out so quickly? Good grief. I enjoyed the smug being wiped of Benson's face when each successive person of interest's alibi turned out to be rock solid. She's unbearable, and I hate how she takes over the crossovers. These episodes must have been shot while Mehcad Brooks was still working on his other project. It almost didn't natter, since we didn't see much of Riley even in the first hour.

Dante's cake was chocolate, and I was relieved to see it was able to fulfill its purpose as a delicious treat, instead of becoming a victim to baked goods violence.
-
Are they going to try to adopt Gio? That's what I was thinking when they were talking about adopting an older kid. Elizabeth thinks Amy is a good nurse—albeit a pushy one—and didn't want to hurt her feelings, which is dumb. Amy's feelings are hers to handle and no one else's. Elizabeth needed to grow a spine and tell Amy she wasn't needed. But then we wouldn't have gotten the delightful scene with Elizabeth and Lucas, and I can always watch them, regardless of the circumstances.
-
Olivia, you are living at the Q mansion by Monica's grace, so you can STFU about not being able to redecorate it to your tacky standards. Dante's cake looks like it was from a bakery. I'm shocked Olivia allowed it. Same. Tracy names a piebald horse Hades? But I enjoyed Cody leaning into the whole cowboy act. LOL at Sonny's passive-aggressiveness about not going to Rocco's debate: "That's okay, I'll watch the video. [Alone. In my giant empty house.]" If Sonny thinks Olivia will be mad at Rocco for the reason Sonny won't be at the debate, he doesn't know Olivia at all. They're both nitwits. Again, STFU, Olivia.
