  1. Did the babysitter just up and leave Gregory and Violet?! Why does Joss care if Kristina has blinkers on when it comes to Sonny? Kristina can think whatever she wants. Joss is the one making this a thing. She needs to learn the world doesn't revolve around her. Though it cracks me up that Joss actually expected Anna to listen to her and not let Dex be a cop. Do I care that a group of cops are snubbing Dex? Not in the least. Sam, things might get better with Danny if you tried to talk to him instead of letting him try to figure things out for himself. Danny says he doesn't want to talk to her and she backs off. Don't back off. And speaking of talking, Gregory needs to talk to Chase and BL directly, not use Tracy as messenger. What is with people and their reluctance to engage? It's bad drama, IMO, to have all of this passivity.
  2. I really hate how his story has been written. First he whines for months about being in a wheelchair and how weak it makes him feel. Oh, and he's had to look at too many belt buckles. Then he suddenly is able to stand and walk with little to no transition from a cane, and now he's all "I've seen the light and I know now what is important in life!" It's condescending and patronizing at the same time. Carly and Jason are perfect, of course.
  3. I would be drinking copiously at either of those parties. Good lord, how boring. Those idiotic games at BLQ's party! I wish Stella had been at BL's party and she and Tracy showed everyone how it was done. We barely even saw Ned. It was nice to have a heartfelt episode for a change.
  4. Yeah, Sonny's meds are a plot point more than anything else. But Carly's always made the point that she knows Sonny best, blah blah blah, so when she misses it, it seems more pertinent.
  5. It wasn't. Like others, I was a bit surprised that Carly hasn't considered that Sonny is off his meds—or that something is going wrong there—but on the other hand, she doesn't live with him anymore, and he's always been mercurial.
  6. Alexandra Borgia could mop the floor with Price and Maroun.
  7. What can Jason do? He doesn't want to harsh Danny's buzz. /s
  8. They sure aren't. They're both emotionally stunted assholes. It's nice to see Nina get some spine back and read Ava the riot act. And I like that Ava gave it back. Color me shocked that Jason actually parented and brought Danny back to Sam. If Sam is so concerned that Danny is like Jason without the maturity (...), then she and Jason should sit Danny down and talk to him. It's a good first step Danny and Kristina are talking, but she isn't his parent. Keep eye-fucking your uncle, Willow!
  9. What especially annoys me about Cody being Mac's son is that is completely undercuts what is one of the greatest things about Mac: that he couldn't care less that Georgie and Maxie aren't biologically his, he considers them his daughters in the fullest sense. But suddenly dopey Cody appears and Mac starts thinking about having a son and all of that patriarchal garbage comes up. I don't begrudge Mac being wistful about not having bio kids, but I do begrudge the idea that somehow a son is what makes him complete. UGH.
  10. From the interview: LW brings the emotion, but I honestly rarely see any from SBu. If it's there on the set, it certainly isn't coming through the camera for me.
  11. I would drop Cody being anyone's secret kid entirely. JJY's health issues have limited how the show has dealt with this, but I haven't missed the story at all. Cody's connection to Dante is enough for me, especially because they aren't related in the slightest. Fair enough. I guess I should be glad it's happening at all, heh.
  12. Nina thinks Sonny will be impressed that she made deals with those dingbats. Of course she's completely misread the room and is only now learning Sonny has no interest in those traitors. I can, LOL. The mob focus has always been problematic for exactly this reason, but I think if the show had made the point more often that Sonny as the devil PC knew was better than the one they didn't, it wouldn't be so jarring to hear Anna and Laura, of all people, express amazement that he's a thug. And to let people besides Scott be allowed to hate Sonny without being mocked. And if Sonny had had more real losses throughout the years (going to jail, losing some territory for a decent period of time, etc.), that would also help. Instead we had Guza fetishizing Sonny and Jason and desperately trying to write a daytime version of The Sopranos. There's been little to no balance in how Sonny is treated, which has been an ongoing complaint. Creatively that could have been a very rich path, but no one wanted to take the time to write it, which is a shame.
  13. The PCPD is so hapless it's probably easier for the mob to leave them alone. The only part of the Anna/Molly discussion that I thought made sense was when Anna was talking about how Sonny had become so enmeshed in PC society (in general, not in the class sense) that the town felt he was the lesser of other criminal evils, and he was able to keep out the more unsavory parts of crime. That argument has been raised before, and I think it's legit. As dumb as the mob stuff has been over the years, the show has been consistent in showing that Sonny tries to maintain some sort of discipline over other mob families. None of this excuses the idiocy of people being today years old when they realize Sonny is—gasp!—a violent mobster.
  14. I think you're right, @perkie1968. But the point remains that Dex ultimately did nothing, so does his statement mean anything? And Cyrus doesn't care about making his own statement about it.
  15. Everyone's reaction to Jason's sleeve cracks me up. I don't know if it's OOC for him, but a tattoo in general isn't exactly way out there. Those aching strings playing under the Carly/Jason conversation were ridiculous. Jason chose to stay away. "How much am I supposed to forgive?" Way to show that unconditional love toward your kid, Sonny. It's Michael, so who cares, but the larger point remains. Oh, Anna. Why are you justifying anything to Josslyn Jacks? And the tears? That is embarrassing. And news flash, Joss: If anyone is given a flag at Dex's funeral, it will be his family, not you. Over/under on whether the bachelor parties both end up at the axe-throwing venue. If Bobbie's was in NYC, Carly would be waiting for a gas hookup for months. I love how Ava is now rethinking her plan to play devil on Sonny's shoulder: "Yikes, maybe this guy is getting way too paranoid." Given that Dex didn't even enter Cyrus's room at GH, what weight does his statement have? At least Sonny actually beat up Cyrus. Of course Carly gets the MetroCourt handed back to her on a platter. So much for her "I love working with the salt of the earth at Bobbie's!" At least it seemed like Nina drove a hard(ish) deal. I am so tired of hearing about the Bensonhurst Brigade.
  16. That doesn't seem legal, but it's not as if this show is ever concerned with legalities.
  17. Aren't most cases tried on this level of evidence? I do agree the witness was terrible, and I don't think the show quite dug into that enough, and the resolution was pretty bad. I knew the wife did it as soon as she got in Shaw's face at her apartment. And then we saw only the husband in the traffic photo. Once again the order side of things was pretty sloppy.
  18. LOL at ActionMan!Dex. Michael can fix a stove? Ha! "Come to the wedding, Sonny. Rise above your petty grievances." You know he never does that, Lois. Ugh, these people picking and choosing who they deem worthy of help is gross. Did you think everyone you dealt with at the PCPD would be "perfect" victims, Anna?
  19. He seems to run the police academy. I think we only saw him one other time, about a week ago, when Anna asked him to consider Dex. I really like this guy and the actor. I hope we haven't seen the last of him. Just because Cyrus is despicable doesn't mean he doesn't deserve the protection of the law when appropriate, as is the case here with Sonny beating him up. That's one of the foundations of justice: Everyone is entitled to it. (Whether you get it is a different story, of course.)
  20. I was wrong a few days ago—we did get a money talk between BL and Chase. Sort of. It was kind of a bust because BL didn't grow up in the Q lap of luxury, very deliberately, so it's not as if she has no idea about the value of money. But at least it's clear she and Chase are on the same page about what they what their lives to be in relationship to money. Though given they have a safety net, it's not as if they're going to be struggling, unless Deception goes bankrupt and ELQ completely tanks. I hate that Alexis keeps bringing up how Molly thinks she's going to fall off the wagon. Alexis doesn't need a reason to start drinking again. I hate Molly. She's awful to everyone who doesn't meet her idiotic standards. I liked the alternating POVs of Finn and Gregory about anger, though Finn was a bit heavy-handed with the guilt. And I loved Alexis gently teasing him by quoting him back to himself. How did Jeff Kober get hotter?! He was smokin' today.
  21. We had that interminable story about sea lanes and docks and things a decade or so ago, and it seems like the show has decided to stick with Sonny controlling territory that other mobsters move their good through, or something like that. It's always been a problem that Sonny is a mobster but not too terrible a mobster. We've seen him murder people onscreen, so I think that train sailed years ago anyway.
  22. The timing for all of this "OMG, Sonny and Jason are criminals and we're only now just realizing it!" talk from Anna and Laura is so odd. As is the talk itself. Everyone has gone around PC for years winking about what Sonny and Jason really do. I don't understand what the show is trying to do here.
  23. "It's nice to have a woman around," Sonny sleazes. UGH. Then we have to watch Brick put the moves on Jordan. Double UGH. Oh, lord, TJ and Molly's baby is due in August? I don't think I can last until then. And shut up about Kristina being the surrogate, TJ. I'm so sick of his whining about her and the Coven. It's not as if his family is some paragon. Where are Dex and Joss supposed to be? It looks like it's around the Q property, but why would they be there? I think the Canadian episode is what will be shown tomorrow in the States.
  24. I think the running time of the reboot is a bit shorter than it was.
  25. Back then Jason was the boy with no past and Robin was the girl with no future. He hadn't yet turned into the Borg who let everyone else do the work.
