  1. I had a hard time concentrating on the Roofer case because I was so distracted by the young man sitting behind the defendant. He was really going to town with his tissue. I think my adult-onset ADD kicked in and that's all I could see.
  2. From yesterday's local newspaper: http://www.tampabay.com/news/scientology/scientology-draws-dueling-petitions-involving-leah-remini-the-irs-and/2335272?utm_source=TBT_email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Daystarter&utm_email=49d88c6706fa6bac867471c7f5f77590
  3. From today's Tampa Bay Times: http://www.tampabay.com/news/scientology/is-john-travolta-moving-to-clearwater-property-records-offer-hints/2335083?utm_source=TBT_email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Daystarter&utm_email=49d88c6706fa6bac867471c7f5f77590
  4. I also wondered about the internet thing and thought maybe they could be on the internet but were not "allowed" to search anything to do with CO$.
  5. I had to laugh when ChaCha said at his exit (paraphrasing), "I'm so embarrassed that I'm the first person eliminated". Elimination is what caused him embarrassment?? From the man with a cupcake or ice cream cone or whatever on his shirt and a stuffed bear pinned to his jacket???
  6. How will this work with the models this year given the "gender fluid" designers? Maybe I'm not completely understanding these types of designs. Are they designing for men to include a more "feminine" aesthetic or are the designs meant to be suitable for either men or women? I guess the judges will have to rework the, "who is your girl" question?
  7. Yes, the terra cotta roofs are CO$. Those are the high profile buildings. There are many, many more.
  8. When you read the comments to the article referencing "zombies" walking the streets, it's really sort of like that. They are all dressed alike and following each other around. It's creepy. I agree that many people don't frequent the downtown area for that very reason. Not only is it creepy but many of us do not want to support CO$ based businesses. You have to do your research to find out before you shop. It's a very uncomfortable vibe. There are two concert venues that I'll frequent that are not affiliated with the CO$, but when the show's over, I'm outta there! It's a beautiful area (as you can see in the photo below) with a gorgeous waterfront and it's a damn shame that it's not thriving and IMHO, it's because of the CO$.
  9. Here's another disturbing article about CO$ plans for Clearwater. Reading the comments to the article gives one a better idea of how the local folks feel about this. Not happy at all! http://www.tampabay.com/news/scientology/scientology-plans-control-of-downtown-clearwater-for-retail-makeover/2315501?utm_source=TBT_email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Daystarter&utm_email=a8ac2aa601edfa6f97ce3c3f5118f105
  10. Erika's dance partner, Gleb was also LVP's partner during her stint on DWTS.
  11. I'm not quite sure which thread it was that I saw several questions about CO$ real estate holdings in Clearwater (where I live) but this was in today's paper which may answer a few questions. http://www.tampabay.com/news/scientology/scientology-leader-to-visit-clearwater-officials-a-week-before-vote-on/2315026?utm_source=TBT_email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Daystarter&utm_email=a8ac2aa601edfa6f97ce3c3f5118f105
  12. I have lived in Clearwater since 1977. They own a lot of property. There are many doctors and lawyers and other professionals who are known Scientologists and have practices in downtown Clearwater. I don't quite know how it works as to who "owns" the property or the "practice" for that matter. It seems to me that the CO$ "owns" their parishioners so does this mean they "own" the businesses, too?
  13. Mrs. TikiBar's voice drove me up the wall. It sounded to me like a Wisconsin accent every time I heard her say, "baaaaarrrrrrr".
  14. I miss my old T&T. This is more about the coaches than the kids. It's not fun to watch anymore. I'm out. But I love the idea about a "Best In Show"-like spoof. They could sure do it justice.
  15. I kept thinking, "Oh, Andrew....step away from your parents and put on your Barcelona big boy pants." And he did! But I can't help but wonder what happened in Madrid that was so awful.
  16. Count me in as one who does not like the new format of one of my favorite guilty pleasures. Make it about the kids and their crazy families, not about famewhore coaches. Won't be watching if the focus stays on the rival groups and coaches. I'm with all of you who want to see, in addition to the kids and their families, the directors and judges and the crownings for heaven's sake!
  17. Vocal fry...here ya go...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEqVgtLQ7qM
  18. I haven't finished watching the "Mr. and Mrs. Loud Sex and their three children" episode but I again found myself yelling at the TV, "You all are effing crazy!" Five people in a tiny house. Geez! When I saw the episode with the Florida couple with the kids in the shipping container I got curious and looked to see what was available in my neck of the woods. Below is a link listing all the restrictions/requirements for the minimum house size in Pinellas county, Florida, but the first paragraph is what caught my eye: Required space in dwelling unit. Every dwelling unit shall contain at least 150 square feet of floor space for the first occupant thereof and at least 100 additional square feet of floor area per additional occupant. The floor area shall be calculated on the basis of the total area of all habitable rooms. http://americantinyhouseassociation.org/minimum-house-size-in-pinellas-county-fl/
  19. My ears are bleeding from the vocal fry from tonight's bride in Lund. So annoying!
  20. Dorothy Breininger is an angel on earth. What a kind and compassionate woman she is. Sometimes she seems way more intuitive than the "doctors". She's honest, forthright, doesn't mince any words or do anything to disrupt the process but her compassion is sincere. The doctors' sincerity often seems gratuitous.
  21. My 2 cents about the casting...I'm so over reality show contestants who just want to be "famous". I'm dreading this season as I think these social media mavens are going to be obnoxious and "on" all the time. They just want screen time and exposure to promote their "brand". They'll probably see their "talking heads" as future clips for their demo reels. I doubt that they have much more than a passing knowledge of TAR and probably "crammed for the test" after they were cast. Just show me regular people who love the show and want the adventure. I hope I'm wrong.
  22. I happened upon this about a month ago when they were doing a marathon and I was hooked! I agree with a lot of what you've said. And I admit, this old cougar is crushing on Dan, too. But I love how they all are so kind and calm with their patients. That N'awlins drawl helps. Keely, Holly and Arkady, who I wasn't crazy about at first but seeing her in the episode with the man who wanted to end his life really impressed me. This week's episode with the little brother who rode in the ambulance to the hospital with all his, "What's this? What's that button?" made me smile. He sure gave Dan a run for his money. Also in this episode, I really wanted to know the outcome of the heroin addict who was going through withdrawals. Dan was so respectful of the man's request not to insert any IV needles, knowing that it would trigger that impulse in him. My stepdaughter is an EMT so I imagine her in these situations. As to the gore, I like that you get a little warning that it's coming, and that it only lasts a second or two, but I still look away. I also wouldn't mind less of the cop part for the same reason as all of you. I would like to see more of the fire fighters. Maybe there aren't too many fires between 8 pm and 4 am. I need to go back On Demand and find the shows I've missed. I'm sad that this finale for this season is next week.
  23. I agree that it really isn't a "B&B" and now I doubt that they're going to be advertising it as such. I found this that (if this has already been posted, I apologize) explains more clearly the intention. I think the draw will be "Baylor" and the Fixer Upper curious. It'll be interesting to see the rental rates. http://www.wacoheartoftexas.com/visitors/lodging/magnolia-house/
  24. I was watching Eddie Haskell, " You look lovely today Mrs. Cleaver...and Curt" vs. Sweet Pea.
  25. Did I hear the mom say that, among the things her daughter missed was a "champagne" event? Not that there wasn't a little tippling at my prom, but I doubt we would have revealed that in court.
