  1. I liked Brittani. It was so good to see the therapy being useful. It is difficult to let go of something that makes you feel so safe. I hope Brittani's husband continues to support her, and they are able to start a family.
  2. Yes that is what they said on the show. I thought there was more to it that was related to her surgery. I agree, it was tough to see them trying to force and shame her into walking.
  3. That is truly amazing that your family was able to do so well on their own! Especially your aunt. I guess it just seems like many people are unable to do this, or the weight loss slows down a lot and they get discouraged. This show doesn't really talk about the risks or dangers of the surgery, and that would be interesting to see. Obviously, this probably won't happen.I think Susan last season had some dangerous consequences from the surgery.
  4. I don't think it is possible for someone to lose over 400 pounds on their own. Even after the surgery, it is still a huge commitment and a complete lifestyle change. They need the medical intervention to be physically unable to eat so much.
  5. This whole episode/ ending should have happened a few years ago. It seemed clunky and awkward now, and only reinforced how far the show has fallen. It was awful to see the plastic surgery on MH and MC.
  6. You are right, society has changed so much regarding fat acceptance. Those words sound harsh about attitudes towards obese girls in the past, but they are absolutely true. My friend was obese in her mid 20's and lost about 60 pounds for the wedding, and then gained about 160 pounds back over time. So being over 350 pounds will be a very difficult challenge to lose while getting older.
  7. Those situations do sound horrible and like abuse. It seems so unreal that family would do those things, but it happens all the time. I also know of one situation where my friend was living with her boyfriend. They weren't really happy together, but things were okay. She started planning to go back to college and right around that time, her boyfriend got a job closing a pizza place. So everyday at 2 or 3 am he would bring home all these pizzas? Family and spouses do enable problems, but the overweight person also has responsibility. I don't think you can become morbidly obese because of enablers or other people. A lot of the people on the show seemed tired and depressed by the whole situation.
  8. In an added scene, Marla was doing the Penny and making a huge salad with latex gloves from her bed. It seemed directly copied, but maybe she normally does this. One of her goals is to visit Dollywood? That was so random, but it's good to have goals.
  9. It was really surprising how easily the paramedics and hospital workers were able to move her in and out of the bed. The deep fry pot thing was horrifying, so much can go wrong on an unsecured table. That's it, it's hard to care when she doesn't even try.
  10. Too bad I don't watch this show for Chi McBride.
  11. Well this seems like a really healthy family dynamic.
  12. This was awful and the first ten minutes were very exploitative of Charity's situation. The daughter was horrible, and didn't seem to want anything to change. The fiancee/ boyfriend made zero sense. In one scene I think he was laughing off to the side.
  13. It's awful that she is emphasizing how she needs the car for her exercise. Maybe just having the account itself crosses the line, especially knowing her personality.
  14. The scene with her mother didn't really explain a lot. Her mother did appear cold. I think the therapist was about Laura letting go of her anger and becoming more happy with her life. Except there are many things that can't be forgiven and yes she shouldn't have to do that.
  15. That was one of the most emotional episodes of the series. Laura reminded me of Amber, she was very self aware of her problems, especially after the surgery. The best quote of the episode was " A new body won't matter if I still feel the same way". Advice to live by. I hope she continues losing weight, it seems like she will.
  16. Yes Donnie was great. He is very supportive and he clearly loves Angel and their son. It's so good that their son is involved in sports. I hope Angel can have her knees fixed.
  17. I can't imagine telling all my co-workers and especially a potential boyfriend if I was doing WW or a diet. It's just better if no one knows. Sadly, the Windex and comet thing seems normal to me. While growing up, any dessert type thing in the house would eventually be sprayed or covered in detergent.
  18. This one was strange and depressing. I thought Joe would have to stay in the hospital for much longer to get his weight down. His mother had a bit of a creepy vibe where she was just staring at him and crying. I think she needs help as well. Even though he seemed defensive, the nutritionist appointment helped Joe understand food a lot better. Happy to see that there are wider crocs available to wear since a foot cut or injury could be disaster for some of the people on this show.
  19. How awful that another doctor thought a feeding tube would be a good decision. A lot of people just trust whatever a doctor says. I also hope Angel can find closure. She was a child herself put into a horrible situation. Angel's husband was so supportive. It was great to see their son involved in sports and being so active.
  20. Your condition sounds very painful and challenging. I hope you can find a healthy balance that works for your system.
  21. Not sure why they got rid of Landry after spending so much time on her backstory and her relationship with Ragosa. This show was much better last season.
  22. Oh dear. Bad news. IIRC, when there are more fat cells there is more estrogen produced causing a period to actually be heavier. Women who are underweight have less fat cells and can lose their period. Extreme stress though can often stop it. I didn't think about the male caregivers having to deal with this issue.
  23. The washing and lotion scenes at the first were kind of graphic. I can't imagine having that filmed. I hope Bettie Jo is successful, she seemed to really want to change her life. I wonder if Josh and Bettie Jo will stay together. Hopefully he won't sabotage her weight loss.
  24. This was awful. Pauline should have had intensive therapy before the surgery to try and change her habits and attitude. I think she is much worse than Penny.
