Life After Lockup Season 6: Live Chat

No she can’t. Lindsey is beautiful but she’s an agent of chaos. Blaine mumbles and isn’t particularly attractive but he sees her and isn’t afraid to call her on her shit. I actually think Blaine is the better catch of the two. -

Wait - so Miley has no clue that her mom, who she just started living with five minutes ago, might go back to jail for ten years? Like, she’d miss the rest of Miley’s childhood (and she already missed most of it in the front end)? -

Tayler has been through a TON. She’s 28 and a widowed mom of four (and I think three fathers, though I’m not certain) and a sister in recovery. I get the impression they don’t have parents. But when kids have seen too much, like most of the ones on this show, they have a maturity that Tayler lacks - she’s pretty shockingly naive. -

Good luck! Dating app situation over here is a little raggedy. Was talking to a guy who offered to bring me a care package when I had COVID … and then ghosted. -

I am BEGGING Shavel to fix her wig. It’s too low on her head and there’s no part and it looks SO CHEAP. -
I said this when he was first on. He, like San Diego Mitch the environmentalist, is a very specific type who needs a very specific type. I think Michael even said “I know I’m a lot,” or something to that effect. A lot of the people they match are kind of basic (and I don’t mean that as an insult), but when they get someone who isn’t, they have to pair them with someone on the same wavelength. New Orleans Amelia and Bennett were a good match even though they ultimately didn’t work out. Michael needs a pairing like that.

Absolutely fucking not. When the blond husband said “I think I got more of what I wanted in this house but … it’s in Iowa,” I fell out. I guess he wasn’t as “in love” with Iowa as he claimed to be.

I don’t know about exposure, but it’s pretty obvious that he’s not in the marriage for the long haul. I think in the preview Emily asks him what he’s fought for (looks like they’re doing a Q&A assignment) and he said the marriage, which … don’t insult her intelligence, Brennan, damn. It doesn’t bother me that he doesn’t like Emily - as I’ve said, it happens that way sometimes - but fronting like he’s giving this his all when he literally can’t even touch her is a bit much.

More on the lawsuits.

I actually disagree. I get the big topics out of the way early (even before a date, if it’s someone I met on an app - I screen for certain things) because there are things that would make me fundamentally incompatible with a person and thus not suited to be in a relationship with them - things I can’t or won’t compromise on, and to me it makes no sense to drag things out knowing that we’re incompatible. “We’re in love” isn’t enough to sustain a relationship if the people in it want totally different lives. I think the issue here is that the show should have done that leg work for them and matched people whose deal-breakers align. “You want two kids and want to raise them Jewish? Me too!” They shouldn’t be discovering these major compatibility issues because the show should have screened for them. I‘m still not clear on what Becca and Austin were fighting about re: hell, but they shouldn’t have matched people with opposing religious beliefs. All of the men looked like they were going to totally different events than the women. Women in cocktail attire, men in casual. At least Austin took off his stupid hat for the occasion. I still want to shave his neck though. Brennan: “I don’t want to touch you but I’ll give you a one-armed bro hug.” Ouch! There was a moment when Austin and Becca were watching the video and Austin looked completely miserable, and then Becca turned to look at him and he slapped a fake smile on. I winced when I saw it. Clare said she saw Cameron as a best friend but for one, I don’t get that vibe at all, she seems to barely tolerate him, and two, that’s not what he wants. I think the best relationships have friendship at the root of them but, you know, you still want to get naked with them. Clare’s insistence that she doesn’t know if he’s attracted to her is crazy to me - he’s said it a million times.

It really isn’t hard to say “thanks for the date/it’s been fun getting to know you, but I don’t think we’re a good fit and I don’t want to lead you on.” I sent a version of this after a date about a month ago and the guy told me he appreciated my clear communication. Brennan did a lot of talking about how divorce isn’t an option and he’s going to have to eat crow because IMO they’re totally getting divorced. And they should! It’s so depressing to be with someone you know doesn’t feel the sane way you do.

Yeah, he’s said point blank that it wouldn’t be “nice” for him to tell Emily he doesn’t like her, which is what his feelings for her are - dislike. He’s not into her. I saw a TikTok (I know) where a woman said that a lot of women say to her “things were going fine and then he ended it! Why?” or “things were good and he ghosted!* Why?” and she’s like, “the answer is most likely ‘he got to know you and decided he didn’t like you,’ but nobody wants to hear that.” That’s what dating is: getting to know a person intimately to see if you get along - and if you do, making sure that you’re compatible enough that you can build a life, if that’s your relationship goal. (This show often pairs fundamentally incompatible people together, which is not the participants’ fault.) I see Brennan getting to know Emily, realizing he doesn’t like her, and trying to come out of this without looking like too much of an asshole. * Don’t ghost! Use your words.

Lindsey said point blank that she knows Blaine takes things at his own pace but she wasn’t going to let him. She doesn’t care about what others want. She also said she wants to lock Blaine down so that a) he has to do the time with her if she gets convicted and b) he has to be a father to Miley (whose room looks … crazy, I’m sorry) if she goes away. At least she’s giving her step-grandmother a break. (I have one of those, my grandfather’s widow. She WOULD NOT step up the way Lindsey’s did. Lindsey’s is a saint.) Bobbo did not look that scary, and all the drama was over a grand, I think, which from what I recall is like 1/30 of what Chance owes. I’m happy for Bobbie and sad for Tayler; Chance sucks and deep down she knows it, but she’s got the sink cost fallacy in her head, plus the baby.

Yeah, Kelly lets him get away with way too much. I suspect if I were her friend I’d have reached the point of “I don’t know what you want me to say. We’ve had this conversation a thousand times. You know I think he sucks, so …🤷🏾♀️” with her years ago. I remember her saying he’d never taken her to a nice restaurant … Kelly, girl, why did you have SIX KIDS with a man who couldn’t even be bothered to buy you a decent plate of food?! She should have BEEN taken him to court. I don’t know if she’s trying to keep the peace with him or what, but fuck that - he’s a deadbeat father (I remember his daughter sobbing over how he’d abandoned her), and since he won’t act right himself, let the courts force the issue. He had thousands to spend on inmates but couldn’t be bothered to support his kids? Fuck Shawn. I loathe him. -

I hate men who don’t take care of their kids, and I’ve hated Shawn since the moment I saw him. “What am I supposed to do, pay for my kids?” YES YOU MOTHERFUCKER. Ugh. -
People bring dogs everywhere now. I saw a woman pushing her Husky in a cart in Target. I saw another woman go full Karen in the grocery store when she was asked to leave her dog, which was literally nosing around the produce, outside. These are not service dogs; service dogs don’t act like that. (I saw a Tik Tok where a guy called non-service dogs “unemployed pets” and I fell out - he, too, was lamenting the trend of people bringing dogs everywhere.) Carlito seemed to be well-behaved, but like … leave him home. He doesn’t need to go to the restaurant. I’m watching an episode set in Fairbanks, AK. I’m very attracted to the realtor.
