  1. They wouldn’t even need to make anything for the next gen. They are all over the media and we know more about them then we want to.
  2. True but I was more referring to the public expecting some emotion from her. I don't necessarily disagree with her stance on Diana. The people were in a frenzy and the Queen sees herself as having to maintain that stiff upper lip, I understand that. I think she still could have managed it better to avoid it getting as bad as it did.
  3. It was sad watching the Queen dealing with Philips funeral plans. I think she would have liked to spend the time in a happier manner. I found this finale to be an anti climax and a bit of a filler ep where not a great deal happened.
  4. It was so funny watching Mou Mou spit the dummy and vent about the Royals. After so long trying to weasel his way in and losing his son in the process the Royals are now racist and Dracula's and the British people backward because the Egyptians built the pyramids. Sums him up quite well. A spoiled naive millionaire who still wanted more.
  5. This was another ep that I felt I had seen many times over in other movies. For a moment when the Queen had all the special staff attend and explain their jobs I thought she was looking a little incredulous at some of their job descriptions and titles. And then I realized she was actually in admiration! I understand the history but someone employed just to fold napkins? It is funny watching this with hindsight as it seemed Blair was a national hero for a few minutes. Also hearing his plans to guide G W Bush as he believed he was now the "Senior Partner". Yeah, no worries.
  6. Surely Charles can't be so stunted emotionally? The best thing he could have done would just to spend time with William or let him know he is there for him if he ever wanted to talk. The way he keeps pushing it would make me uncomfortable too, then when William expresses anger he argues rather than listening. It was mostly a boring ep. William the reluctant pin up boy, oh the horrors.
  7. I lived through this period but didn't pay a lot of attention to any of it. I did however feel like I was watching a number of films which contained segments of Diana's death. So this ep was a little boring for me as I felt I had seen it all before. Mou Mou is a bore, losing a son due to his games and yet all he can think about is playing more games hoping that this time, he will weasel his way into "The Firm". I don't think mentioning previous events is verboten, so... it seems the Queen didn't learn much since the ep in another season where there was a landslide or mine collapse and killed those school children. People wanted her to show some emotion with that as well.
  8. Precisely, she was playing a game against people who had centuries of training at it and infinite advisors and support. In the end she was just a naive woman who thought the love of (some) of the public and some celebrities would be enough. Di also seemed like a care free party girl who lacked the discipline to wage her own war.
  9. I didn't care either and did nightshift the day she died. Most people I knew were totally over her way before her death. Diana did however play the media a lot and was their darling. I think she was getting the blame because "Mou Mou" was really a non entity to them even though they were aware of him as he tried to ingratiate himself into their sphere. He really just didn't matter enough to them to even blame him. I have always been skeptical about Diana and even when she did charity work it seemed to be all about herself and image. I don't think Charles was into the idea of the photo as portrayed in the ep.
  10. I think he was a social climber who wanted to ingratiate himself into the Royal family thinking it would lift his profile and they weren't impressed by him. The Royals may be many things but they aren't stupid when it comes to these things. For me the actor is too masculine looking and strong. Charles is more on the weedy side. The actor does a good job with the speech and mannerisms though. The odd thing about Dodi is his fiance in real life and the show is far better looking than Diana. I have always been very skeptical about Diana and her antics.

At this point is there anyone who doesn't already know the story? Not to mention the last film about Elvis was terrible.
  12. Anyone seen the new eps yet? I tend to have it on in the background as it has run it's course but something about it doesn't make me want to say goodbye yet!!
  13. Watching this show again and still enjoying it. I was very late to the series anyway first time viewing was 2021! It still holds up well given it is 20 years old now. Despite having seen it before I don't remember it 100% so was surprised Chris Keller (ick!) turns up as early as Season 2, I thought that was later on. Happy the Felix storyline didn't last very long. Up to Season 4 at the moment. Lucas is embracing his writing now that basketball is no longer possible. Dan murdering Keith is still an amazing story line for me, no cameras, no one suspects anything? How does Dan get (or Keith) get into the school given the cops had already surrounded it by the time Dan got there. The show is pure fantasy, I know and it only gets crazier after Lucas and Peyton leave. I would have liked to see them do more with the Goth Girl Glenda Farrell she seemed interesting and a nice balance against the more glam girls of the shows. Watching the show it is like they had several ideas of how it should work and decided to go with all of them! And how many psychopaths can one town have! I always got the impression Nathan married her so they could have sex. Haley was adamant about no sex before marriage.
  14. Herman and all the boobs who run the bar and come up with silly money making schemes? Yep. The Chief lacks the charisma to carry the show and Kelly needs an equal guy pal. Just don't bring back Gabby!
  15. I like TV shows and films involving cowboys and rodeo's etc so I thought I would check this one out. I just couldn't get into it. The characters/actors all feel better suited to an urban environment and the overall show feels very confused. Almost like what they really wanted was another city based soap/drama but someone insisted it had to be set in the world of rodeo complete with fashion industry side story. A lack of authenticity.
  16. I was thinking that too. I guess it depends on what the girl's influences are, what she is watching, listening to, where she grew up etc. For me it was more of an eye roll thing as it was just a means of marking the ever precious diversity box. I'm not the least bit interested in Ruby or Isla. If that is the intention then they need to cast a much more charismatic and better looking actress. I don't buy the woman they have in the role as making men want to run their ships aground.
  17. Jason is looking very old for 53. I wasn't into the story line with the ex wives. One of them even states that she saw all the red flags but pressed ahead anyway. I would not say that is the guys fault! The actress playing the mermaid does not have the screen presence or charm to make me believe she is some kind of super seducer. She also isn't so attractive that would put her into some kind of super league.
  18. Is it just me or is have the chance to suck up to the boss a really crap fantasy?
  19. I was curious so also looked it up. This site gives a break down of an average day this one is saying 18-20 miles a day which isn't a lot more than 15. It could take up to 6 months on the Oregon trail. https://oregontrailcenter.org/day-on-the-trail
  20. Arthur probably could have bested a lot of "Gentlemen" in a sword fight, his upbringing would have insisted on him being taught sword skills from a young age. The problem is Spencer, possibly in an attempt to avoid killing him barely used his sword and stopped Arthur from using his as well. Spencer turned it into more a street fight which would have caught Arthur by mistake which in turn made him more angry and led to him being thrown overboard. I think Arthur was more upset that his pride had been hurt, that Alex rejected him for a commoner. Why would he insult her if he still wanted her back? He just wanted to draw Spencer into a fight. I thought that not having a connection between the cafe reunion and then just following up later on the ship was odd too. I find it hard to believe they wouldn't have spoken at all during that time but then again what would they really have to say to each other anyway? I know it's 1923 and travel was slow but Spencer really is going home the longest possible way he can find. Alex probably will arrive in Montana first and then have to win over the Dutton's before Spencer finally arrives. Which is another problem, we know that he will eventually get there, otherwise it will be the anti climax of the ages, so why draw it out for so long given the story is not about how he gets home but what he does when he arrives?
  21. Yep she is basically dead now to her family as I think the plan was for her husband to tell everyone she didn't survive the plane trip. She is essentially in exile now as going back will not be an easy thing to do. What they also skipped over was the husband also gets to avoid having to deal with his wife's disease and impending death. He gets to move on now and enjoy the rest of his life. It is not as much of a selfless act on his part as they made out in this show.
  22. This version seems more directed to a female audience. I recall the original being better balanced. I don't like the "associate" Ruby, the actress seems bored with her role. I also find it amusing that she is so much taller than Roarke that she has to wear flats whilst Roarke wears heels which makes them a similar a height. Roarke in this version doesn't have any mystery or magic as opposed to the original show. We see too much of her personal life and romance with the pilot. She comes across more as a therapist rather than some kind of Mystic like the original Roarke did.
  23. Looks like I missed something along the way, I thought the actress looked Asian but also figured as they have used Asian's before to play Native American's that it was just down to casting. I still find it hard to believe no one already knew about the marriage. Alex is a liability for Spencer and her own family. She is impulsive and wants the best of Royal life as well as the freedom of life with Spencer. I find 1920's female fashions to be terrible as they take away from a woman's shape and the hairstyles are very boyish. I am wondering when Alex finally realizes she will have to fit in and do more than play damsel in distress. I think the duel was over the top. I doubt the father would allow his son to place himself in so much danger. He could have controlled him better. Back then it was all about saving face and if they really wanted Spencer dead they could have "arranged" it to happen quite easily.
  24. Well, at least it looks like there will be a Season 2, I was fearing that they would rush everything to some kind of half arsed conclusion. That said, all we got was more unnecessary filler and another cliffhanger, although I don't think it is really a cliffhanger at all. For one thing I am losing interest and secondly I think we all know that Spencer will eventually make it to Montana. Where to start with this mess of an ep! 1/ Did we really need to see the hookers again, let alone watch them get whipped with the belt? Is there some purpose behind this torture porn? Is the brunette getting built into some kind of monster to be used later? 2/ The town didn't already know about the white man and Indian living together and having kids? It took a peeping Tom to have them busted? Really? 3/ It seems counter productive pride is an integral part of the Dutton clan, better to not have a mortgage and have your enemy pay your land tax so he can claim your land when you can't pay later. Much better idea! 4/ How many people saw Alex's ex fiance going over the side of the ship during the duel? I didn't quite think it would be so comical though. Sheridan or whoever is writing these things needs to work on their pacing. 8 eps isn't much it needs to be tighter rather than waste so much time on animals being shot in Africa and people hiding in trees from leopards as well as the miserable scenes from the Religious school and the torture porn of hookers being whipped by belts.
  25. I imagine Spencer was paid very well for his job in hunting leopards and keeping the camp safe but as you say where did he keep that cash, in his rifle bag perhaps? It was the one thing he made sure he grabbed so my guess would be there. I would think someone living like him would be very careful about how they store things and would want everything they need the most to be in one place if they had to make a quick escape. What a coincidence! Anyone want to start taking bets that her ex fiance will arrange fast and safe travel to America for them/her? Yes, will they jump a couple or more decades, 1943 if Sheridan wants WW2? 1953 or 1963 would make sense as it is another time period with a lot of change socially and technologically. It would also mean that the John Dutton we know from Yellowstone would be born. Or a kid anyway. I can't see how they can wrap up the story line properly in the remaining episode so like you I would hope for a proper Season 2 instead of another spin off show.
