  1. True but we already knew all of that. They could have still had the prostitutes or just Banner living it up alone on the house. We knew Dalton's character was a prick as well, so now we also know he is a sexual sadist. The Dutton's aren't that wholesome either, they did lynch Banner and his men and were too stupid to hang around (pun intended) to make sure they died. I know that was the plan to let one escape to warn off others but it didn't work did it? Banner was only trying to provide for his family as well by grazing his sheep. *** I feel like the season is being rushed or they have just wasted a lot of time and are now trying to wrap things up. Perhaps less time spent in Africa may have been key, as nicely shot as it was, all they needed to do was set up Spencer as being a War Vet and action man. They did that first ep. With one episode to go, I wonder how they are going to wrap things up unless they are planning on a second season.
  2. Sure but as we are nearly at the end of the season the story hasn't progressed much on any level let alone the NA story line. So far it has been possibly a rather far fetched story in regards to this Indian woman fighting against the Nuns and Priests and killing them. I would suspect she would have been pulled in line one way or another before she had the opportunity to kill anyone. But it is from the creator of Yellowstone so meh.
  3. I find myself having a lot of sympathy for the nuns. They have been assigned a very tough job far from home and given little, if any support as we saw in the first ep from their "boss" the priest. They certainly aren't trained to deal with the situation they have been thrown into. I thought they were pretty silly to untie the Indian girl when she conceded, it was obvious to me she was just wanting a break rather than offering a genuine surrender. I feel like some things are being glossed over for the sake of politics as well as convenience. Cara had perhaps too easy a time at the owners meeting and was readily accepted probably due to her husbands standing. As her husband isn't dead yet it will be interesting to see if he gets back on his feet, he would reappear as a ghost to those who shot him. It is running slow and given we know the outcome via Yellowstone (ie the Duttons keep the ranch and power) I wonder if the slow speed is really necessary. Still it will be fun to see Spencer return probably when the sheep herders are beginning their attack on the ranch.
  4. Or is it more a case of Woke Washing where the Indians are as usual being portrayed as salt of the Earth types who are too passive and humble to raise their fists in anger? It's ironic because one of the reasons it was easy to defeat the Native Americans was due to the tribes warring against each other. Thus they were already divided before European settlement and the tribes even took sides with different European groups because they thought it would benefit their own tribe in defeating their opposing tribes. That said this show is a fantasy as is Yellowstone and 1883 which featured the unbelievable Prairie Barbie herself Elsa. It's no more realistic than a recent TV show based around Vikings I watched which featured a black woman as a Viking Queen!
  5. lol yes it is more about remembering the glory days of the show than bashing on it out of nastiness. Usually I will dump a show if it declines but I feel some sense of nostalgia for this one so I keep going. I know it won't get any better though. If they had to kill Ty then yeah just ending the show would have been better. I can't see Amy finding another meaningful relationship somehow. Amy/Amber even seems bored with the horses. There are only so many confused and traumatized horses she can save! There was no Georgie latest season. Sorry if that's a spoiler but I think you already got to that conclusion. I think the actresses name is still in the credits though, I can't recall. The actress who plays her is young and attractive so she is probably working on other projects and might make return appearances at some point. YES! Lou does just half arse everything. She likes the idea of having the title, crossing something off her list but never seems fully committed to what she is doing. She is doing the same now as Mayor or whatever political title she has, I also feel like the actress is bored with the role and the show but like Amber is showing up for the easy money and lack of opportunities elsewhere. I think they did Peter wrong too, I also never understood why Lou was so upset with living in Dubai. She marries a millionaire and then gets upset about having to live luxuriously abroad?!
  6. I think we will see more of her next season. The actress however looks/is older than I think Katie really is which can get confusing. There's not much more that they can realistically do with this show in my opinion. The eps where they went to Mongolia were over stretching it. I think they made a mistake by killing off Ty as well. Even if the actor wanted to leave they could have sent the character somewhere. I feel like we're stuck with all of the dullest regular characters. I am bored by stupid by Sam's political career and her goofy assistant.
  7. It was a shame that Caleb and Ashley didn't work out. I understand them having a hard time but for her to just walk away was a bit rough. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the reason. Cindy is better looking than Amber and Caleb and Ashley were far more interesting than Amber and the Fleming clan. On the youth front there is Baye McPherson who is playing Katie they are making more use of her now that the character of Katie is in her teens. But as per the long tradition of this show they just repeat story lines anyway.
  8. I have good memories of when I started watching it and when it was still a good show. The last few seasons have been pretty dull. Mallory and Caleb make visits this season so there's something for you. To me Caleb and Ashley were the true heart of the show and it was sad when they left. I miss Georgie as well which is odd as I couldn't stand her when she started as the annoying little kid. I feel like Amber Marshall has also lost interest in the show and just keeps it going for the money as she knows her prospects are limited. Same with most of the cast really.
  9. Maybe that was what they were thinking. It did look weird and then throwing some burning paper at him to make it look authentic lol.
  10. It was a very uneventful season, I can't recall any loose ends. I was kind of "sleep watching" most of the season.
  11. I like how Brunette Beth was telling Jamie that by 2030 or whatever Brazil was going to be the major supplier of beef. All of these predictions are based on nothing changing from now till then. As we've seen with CoVid it shook a lot of things up around the world. Possibly kind of off topic, I just find it funny how people think that others should just give up based on these things.
  12. I think you could enjoy this on it's own. The female narrator is the ever annoying Elsa from 1883. Elsa was a Mary Sue type character who was able to become a great warrior and horse woman at a rather young age. I won't say more as it would be a spoiler but as she seems set to be the narrator for 1923 (cringe) I figured it would make sense to at least explain who you are hearing. As technically the Yellowstone story is yet to happen within in this universe (Yellowstone being set in the current time) you can forget about that altogether.
  13. Yeah I cringed as soon as I heard her whimsical try hard poet voice. **** So was this depressing enough or what? Who would have guessed the groom to be would be shot after going out for the cattle when his fiance was dead set against it?! Watching the Indiana Jones styled son killing Germans in WW1 and the shooting a lion and then a jaguar. Ho hum. It was funny to watch the woman get mauled by the jaguar though. Not sure what the point of the nun and Catholic school/orphanage thing was for. I guess we might find out but basing it off other Taylor Sheridan shows we may never see it again. I think the Priest just wanted the nun and the girl to leave him alone in future. So far weak on story and characters but it all looks pretty.
  14. I could see Summer starting to change sides when she watched the guys ride away the other ep. She strikes me as someone who has nothing and has moved around a lot. What I like about this show is it highlights how the ones being attacked (in this case the Ranchers) for not caring about the environment are actually closer to nature than the ones who do the attacking. And I think Summer is starting to see that. I think they are starting to try something with Monica but I don't know what that is yet. Wasn't the horses thing just to set up the 6666 Ranch so Taylor could write off his property for tax purposes? Jamie is so starved for love and belonging to something he is easy pickings. Beth threatening his son certainly would not have helped anything. John Dutton is an idiot for keeping him close. The flashbacks get confusing at times. Can't they write "20 Years Ago" or whatever? The actress playing young Beth has nailed her mannerisms though. Wasn't Kayce in the military? I assume he gets a pension? Of all the people on the show Kayce and Monica are the only ones living a humble life so I don't think they need a lot of money. I'm pretty sure John would help too. Yes, we needed to see the blond barrel racing slut again! I would prefer it end properly than just being dragged out. It already feels like it has lost it's way a few times. I don't know if I can just keep watching Beth hit people and walk away from explosions while smoking. I would bet Taylor Sheridan has forgotten about that too! I will get a little metaphorical and say that it symbolized how well John Dutton is liked and how no one would attack him, at least in a way that would cause him harm and perhaps the fair was already well vetted and had it's own security? I don't know, John was elected on his vow of saving his own land. I mean, he was stupidly honest about that and the people love him for it and voted him in?! Old Rip is also stupid as hell. Beth is a lost cause and I think Rip could do way better. He seems to think that by having her it makes him look more manly or something. She acts like a child. LOL yeah, Beth has no honor to defend! Or perhaps Beth can stop interrupting family dinners and let Jamie and Monica actually eat something?!
  15. I took it more metaphorically. As in you could take the vibe or atmosphere of the place put it a bottle and sell it. Not the land itself in any physical way. Of course they could make a lot of money out of selling cowboy experiences but that in turn would kill the magic of what they own.
  16. I was confused by what age Beth was supposed to be from the start and so did some digging. She would be around 38 now, the character was born in 1984. The actress who plays her is 45 and looks every bit of 55. The way Beth behaves is juvenile. I would get it if she were 20 but she isn't. Rip could do far better than her as well but she is an heiress. The actress who plays Lynell is 52 and looks better than most of the younger actresses on the show. John himself is supposed to be around 60 but I think Costner is in his 70's. It makes sense Summer would look rough though. Her lifestyle of travelling around causing a ruckus, eating badly, no skin care etc Her body is rather pudgy too. Jamie is really just a male Beth. Out for himself and angry but in a more calculated way than Beth. He thinks he has it under control and will take it all from John if he can. I'm amazed John keeps trusting him! I would have arranged an "accident"! I would guess that Beth did spend time riding the horses (and cowboys) as she grew up. It makes sense that she would know how to do that stuff. To what skill level, that is the question. Lets not forget Prairie Barbie on 1883 though, way too good at something that takes years of constant practice. I was thinking that the other day too. Beth is imprisoned by her anger and torment and also spends a lot of energy in maintaining that tough bitch image even when she doesn't have to. Punching on with Summer was over the top and rude to her father and the dinner guests. She is not free. She is like a self proclaimed Alpha male who spends all their time trying to fight people and when those people avoid them they see it as a victory rather than people just no longer caring about them.
  17. Beth is such a narcissist. She couldn't even watch the sunset with Rip and felt threatened so had to try and upstage it. For a supposedly badass bitch she is very needy. Yep, Lynell is way better looking than Summer. I also felt it was funny when Summer called Lynell a "MILF" Summer isn't that young herself. Although in this show they cast so badly she is probably supposed to be in her early 20's! Jamie is a lost soul. It is easy to manipulate him as all you have to is make him believe he has a place on your team. I find it hard to believe Lynell would be jealous over Summer. Lynell may be older but she is far better looking and has a better body. Not to mention much classier. True but we are meant to believe these guys are real bad asses who don't give a shit. I would imagine that the visit would have been planned well in advance and all dogs and other animals contained before hand. Yep but even I as a life long non smoker knows the Marlboro red and white pack.
  18. Jimmy was kind of like that although not a complete outsider to the State itself. It would be good to see outsiders coming in and doing something positive and embracing the culture of the State rather than trying to destroy it.
  19. I won't give anything away for you then. Oh and it seems I am getting my actors mixed up, it's Baye McPherson not Ziya Matheson. This show tends to burn through the younger actors!
  20. The current one Season 16.
  21. Monia has become a side character and at times I forgot she even existed. I don't think they know what to do with her or the Indigenous at the moment. I can see Dutton and Rainwater teaming up though at some point. They are basically the same character. Both deeply old fashioned men and both know that the time for men like themselves is coming to an end. Dutton telling Rip about that for example that the new way for people is cowardice. I have to disagree with how they treat outsiders in the show though. I think they make some very relevant points. Outsiders enter into their state or area and then proceed to want everything changed to suit themselves. It is a common theme we see in real life. People take a paradise and destroy it because they want it to be like where they came from without ever thinking about why they left where they came from in the first place! Summer is an idiot. She is sitting at a table with people she knows have a certain lifestyle. She then proceeds to lecture them and be rude. She isn't from there place and she knows nothing of the land and how it works. But she thinks she knows better anyway. It would be no different if I accept an invitation to dine with Vegans and then criticized the lack of a meat option and made fun of their ways. Circling back a little I wish they would spend less time on Beth chewing up the scenery and perhaps more time exploring other characters that have been left behind as well as other story lines.
  22. Maybe not every vegan but she is a good representation of a lot of Vegans. She is also an environmentalist so she likes to preach. I would say she is pretty typical of Vegans and Environmentalists to be honest. How does the joke go, "How can you tell if someone is a vegan?" = They will tell you!
  23. Or are they short handed because it's well known you will be working with people who are branded like cattle and if you have a falling out Rip drives you to the "train station"? Not to mention all the other dodgy dealings that must be well known in the area! Beth is a mess both as a character and as a figment of Sheridan's imagination. Poorly cast too. Watching a woman who looks close to 50 behave like a teenager is not sexy nor an example of what a "strong woman" should be. Clara looks like she is waiting for her moment and has already made some small steps. She is a killer in disguise. Summer did eat the mash potato with butter in it so it might not be too long before she tries her first bit of fried chicken. Perhaps Beth's beating taught her that her enemies have been kinder to her than her friends? I agree it's no different to being served any type of food you may not like or do not eat. You can respectfully decline or eat the things on offer that you do like. I am sure there was some lettuce she could have chowed down on. I did enjoy the jokes and the fallout she encountered though. A lot of shows are very Woke or PC now so it was fun to hear some funny retorts like the one about having shot two ducks when Summer stated they mate for life.
  24. Thoughts on this season so far? Not much is happening. Caleb appears to have no luck with marriage and the Horse Whisperer clone story was short lived and resolved easily. It was nice seeing Mallory return for an ep. Would be good to see Ashley again too. Ziya Matheson seems to be the most interesting actress this season.
  25. I think we are meant to believe that their lifestyle is in danger and this could be the last time? I really doubt that someone like John Dutton would want to hear about his son's sex lives let alone his daughter talk about it. I also think the writer is going for an ultra feminist type character but is really drawing a picture of what men mock, a woman who is unhinged and can't control herself. I would love to see Beth taken down. When Summer started showing some martial arts/trained self defence moves I was hoping she would put Beth in her place. I find Summer annoying too and though her rants at the table were just rude. But I still find Beth more annoying overall. Beth probably thinks about it in terms of keeping the enemy close. Then again Beth has also been brought up around men and probably has more male energy and outlook than female outlook anyway. There really wasn't much to it and I believe it will be a fairly short season as well. How much longer can they really make this show about John protecting his ranch and Beth being a woman child? Rip is typical of the Alpha Male variety. They spend a lot of time on their image and doting on women. In short the Alpha male is really not all that Alpha or free. 1883 really highlighted that with Prairie Barbie. Beth is a mess and not even an interesting character. And again I am going to say the actress playing her is too old and not attractive enough for men to tolerate her (constant) shit.
