  1. Remember the first few years of the original Idol, when Simon said he didn't like country music? Then Carrie made it big and he got on board the country train
  2. Found Sanjaya's website and he has a lot of music on there, including several covers. Here is the link if you want to check it out https://sanjaya.bandcamp.com/
  3. All I could think of was how Adam Levine has yelled at, chastised and tried to educate the audience on The Voice on their off-rhythm clapping. I hate the arm waving and clapping..distracts from the performance
  4. My nominee for worst judge on American Idol would be Ellen Degeneres. She didn't know anything about music, her critiques were not helpful at all, and she treated a lot of things like the setup for her (usually lame) punchlines. I also hated the Nikki/Mariah season. Kara wasn't the best judge, but at least she was music savvy and could give helpful critiques. Seemed like Paula didn't want to hurt the contestants' feelings, so she soft pedaled her comments and critiques.
  5. Barbie dumping out her "protein shake" and then just sitting gloating while the others choked down theirs, why wasn't she forced to drink another one?
  6. Patrick J Adams Megan Markle film Suits wedding
  7. When I saw Miley's dress, my first thought was, "Who thought it was a good idea to dress Miley to look like a pink lampshade in a little girl's room?" And those enormous hoop earrings? Those looked big enough for trained dogs to leap thru. Miley is a beautiful young lady, but some of her fashion choices leave me scratching my head. I didn't much care for Team Jennifer's rendition of Let It Be It started out okay but went way over the top closer to the end, made it feel like a shouty gospel song instead of the simple song the Beatles recorded. I really think the right person went home. Jon's Instant Save performance was a hot mess. Too much running around playing to the audience and it affected his support, breath control and tone. He completely slurred a few lyrics to the point that if I had not known the song, I would have said, "What is that? What did he say?"
  8. I think Puddles didn't do as well with his song as he could have. If you look up on Youtube where he did Royals with Post Modern Jukebox it was much better. I watched several of his videos with PMJ and those were fabulous. I do believe he was having a slightly off night.
  9. I agree. My DVR was messing up and not letting me get to the recording, so I was afraid I was going to have to do On Demand which doesn't let you Fast Forward. I skipped both musical performances...not a big fan of DNCE either.
  10. Apparently Miley will be coming back next season. From what I have read Adam and Blake didn't like working with her, and Gwen apparently thinks she should have the gig permanently. I actually though Miley did a great job as a coach...she knew how to critique in a way that helped the contestants, and she seemed to have good instincts on which singers to go after for her team, and what songs worked best for them. She wore some crazy outfits, but she wasn't crazy or inappropriate for a family show. I don't think Gwen needs to be on every season. I do get tired of her referencing when she started with No Doubt...yes Gwen, we get it, you were in a band when you were 17. So were a lot of other people, that doesn't make you special. I am just glad that they toned down the PDAs between her and Blake...that is not the reason I watch the show. I love Blake and I think he really knows how to work with his artists, and he helps all of them, just not the winner. His mentoring doesn't stop when the winner is announced.
  11. Add me to the camp of "will Darby go away already and stop assaulting my ears?" I know Darby is getting a lot of support from fans of Girl Meets World. She is a cast member (with the character name Darby Walker). Rowan Blanchard, Sabrina Carpenter and other cast members have been relentlessly tweeting to their fans to vote for Darby. She is mainly a background character, but she did have some lines as Yogi's Lab partner in Girl Meets STEM. She has a running gag where she picks up Yogi..here in Girl Meets Yearbook Darby in Girl Meets World
  12. Does anyone know why Joan Jett was talking like her teeth were clenched? It was really noticable, like she couldn't open her mouth
  13. Glad Tommy was eliminated. Even with continued prodding from Chef Anne, he still was unfocused and all over the place. I was happy to see Mike "The Situation" win the challenge. He really seems to take it seriously and was determined to prove himself after being in the bottom 2 last week.
  14. Just a heads up. The finale will air at 7pm EDT on Monday, not 8 like the previous episodes.
  15. I couldn't figure out why Lexi discarded her potatoes because they fell on the floor. Why not just take them to the sink and rinse them off. I can see if it was meat or something (even that I might rinse off and use...I hate wasting food) but I would have rinsed them and if I wanted to be extra sure, just peel off another layer.
  16. Looks like one of our guest judges will be Tregaye. I heard "this was on fleek" and thought "Ugh"
  17. Damaris is still doing her show. She posted just a day or so ago asking for old style Southern Dessert recipes. I was a little disappointed last season that the finalists basically were doing their version of DDD, Why go thru a cooking competition if your show is not going to be about you cooking, but visiting restaurants and reviewing them. FN seems to be leaning that way...I think since they have the Cooking Channel they are putting a lot of their cooking shows there and turning Food Network into "Let's visit this restaurant and see what they are serving" or competition shows. Reminds me of MTV, they started out as a music channel and 24 hour music videos, then they turned into reality TV shows.
  18. I would have liked to have seen them bring back Luca, he was really robbed by Creepy Cowboy Lenny. Better him than Penny or Matthew. FN seems to be obsessed with Penny..she has been on Chopped, Cutthroat Kitchen (one of my favorite moments was her taunting the others about her sauce, then promptly starting her blender without the lid, spraying it everywhere, then knocking the rest into the trash trying to grab the blender jar. She was then dinged for not having much sauce on her dish)...and she was even a mystery chef on Food Fighters on NBC.
  19. Maybe that was her tribute to Fantasia..remember her signature move "The Bobo" that looked like she was getting ready to take a dump onstage. I was disappointed to see her go through..there are other singers they let go that were much more talented. She had her chance on The Voice..I found her annoying on that show too.
  20. Aww, man..not another one! First Joe, and now Graham is leaving as soon as Masterchef Jr. is done http://www.ew.com/article/2015/12/18/graham-elliot-leaving-masterchef
  21. Or maybe she will use the blender and forget to put the top on before turning it on, like she did on Cutthroat Kitchen. I loved that they used that particular clip in the credits for a while so I could laugh at her every single week. I am not sure if the Every Aisle format would be tougher or easier. Yes, you have to go to every aisle, but at least you know that item is in that specified aisle..no running all over the store yelling, "Where is it? I know it is here somewhere!"
  22. When they were testing the one drone and it was going all over the place, I was thinking of the one time Mystery Diners "Released the Drone" and promptly had it crash and almost give the whole surveillance away. I too miss Tory, Kari and Grant...Jamie and Adam just seem spread too thin to give the myths the attention they got when the Trio was there to test at least one myth.
  23. Add to that...the opening credits were the clips from the 1st season credits. I pegged it as a holdover from Season One as soon as I saw them.
  24. Yes, in fact during the finale when they showed him in the studio recording his single he was hatless. He had the headphones on and the hat wouldn't work with those. I like Sawyer and was glad he won. He always had such a look of pure joy when he was singing. And the fact that he just stands and sings is not an issue in my opinion. There are a lot of singers..a classic example would be John Denver...who just stood and played the guitar and sang. It doesn' always have to be about jumping around the stage. The music is the important thing. In any case, things like movement can be taught..that is why they have producers and choreographers or movement coaches. It is a talent development process. If they came in fully ready for the big time, what would be the point? It is "THE VOICE" after all, if you have the singing talent, the rest can be taught. I have seen too many "singers" who make up for a lack of singing talent with pyrotechnics, costumes and slick choreography.
  25. In Daniel's defense, he did sound much better on the ITunes/studio version. I have a vocal music degree, and I have been in the situation of having throat issues and having to sing live. Not only do you have to deal with the physical issues, but there is a certain amount of mental stress because you know your voice is not reliable and you might have a good or bad performance. I give the kid kudos for at least going out there and giving it his best shot..knowing that Rayvon would undoubtably outsing him.
