  1. No rotten tomato throwing from me. I agree that young kids need an eye on them. I think it pretty unlikely that kids of that age could drown though, unless one of them suddenly had a seizure or something.
  2. THIS! It REALLY irritates me when people use that phrase, and I did without thinking. Everyone knows about breast cancer and brain tumors and these other monstrous diseases. As you said, what is needed much more is information on how to help.
  3. Well don't hold back, peaches, tell us how you really feel!! 😀
  4. Who is TJ Lubinsky? I was thinking more of the pledge weeks showing episodes or specials of Downton Abbey and saying if you donate $1000 or something you get the boxed set, to which I say if you can afford to donate that kind of money, you can buy the box set for yourself! Are you referring to the shows of musical performances where their music is compiled, and that would cost you thousands to do it yourself?
  5. Whoah, I haven't seen this one and I am glad I haven't. It would bug me as much as the ones with the kids crawling around in the mud and then come in and track it all over the house, while the stupid parent runs after them with Bounty towels or something, or the one with the kid that shakes up a pop bottle in the kitchen and then sprays it all over the place, while his mother beams. Military school, anyone?
  6. I agree. Most all of the other winners and runners up were 12 or 13. 10 should be the youngest they should go, and 13 is good for the oldest, as it is.
  7. I get what you are saying, but again, marketers must have shown those that work with charity donations that offering bonus gifts increases donations.
  8. I just looked at the past winners, and two 11 year olds won their seasons, and several more in their final three were 10 and 11. I don't know if it is the age that matters as much as the skills. Ben's age wouldn't matter if he had knocked it out of the park, but he was relying on "I'm so little and cute" instead. None of these kids seem to have the skills, so far, but I have to keep remembering that they had to audition for the show, so they must have done something right.
  9. To be fair though, your tech company sounds over the top, but that is not quite the same as a charity offering a one time gift upon donation. There may be many who don't need any of it, and there may be others who do enjoy them. PBS really pushes the bonus "gifts" for higher donations during pledge weeks and I do wonder why, as if people can afford to donate alot of money, they can afford to buy their own dvd sets or what have you. But some people really like getting something for their money.
  10. I think Eddie was the love of her life, but she was divorced from him and married someone else, who she probably loved as well. Still loving Eddie doesn't mean she didn't love her husband. Also, Eddie was the father of her child so those feelings can get mixed in too. It doesn't necessarily still mean she feels romantic love. Thank you! I noticed that Summer and Ellora are both from Yorba Linda. I wonder if they have met before getting chosen!
  11. One ad that I don't think has been mentioned has the gecko standing under a leaking ceiling, and the little cretins upstairs are playing and splashing in a swimming pool. I don't think they would be having so much fun when the floor collapses with them on it, and that would be just the beginning of what they should get. Showing kids destroying an apartment building is not a good idea.
  12. Yeah, I haven't seen those so didn't really know what anyone was talking about with that!
  13. I'm impressed that you remember so many names after just one show, and not only that, but who did what! I wish I could remember which one it was that showed some of her work at home and it was gorgeous. I hope you are right, that once they settle in, that we will see what they are really capable of!
  14. Bug-kind! 😄 Thanx for the shoutout!
  15. Well I am very glad to see that my thoughts on this mess of an episode are shared by others. I am glad to see Duff and Val back but my Lord those were the most godawful cakes I have ever seen. How hard is it to make a one layer cake and decorate it to look like a butterfly? There wasn't one of them that made one that IMO deserved to be on the show. No one knew, as said, about crumb coats or the right consistency for the frosting. I think these kids are just too young. The right year old thought he was too cute, and I could find Caroline annoying really fast. I have heard a rumor that the black kids are often too quickly chopped, and I don't know if that is true, but it was wrong to keep Ben's mess of a cake and chop Eva-Leigh, whose cake was also a mess but not as bad. I think it might be interesting to hear more about Ellora if she stays in. I am pretty sure she has or has had a serious illness. Certain steroids cause those chipmunk cheeks. I also thought I heard Duff say that they were supposed to make three different flowers but none of them did. I do think it is brave of the blue haired girl to come on national tv with a speech defect. It should not be made fun of.
  16. I think it is so wrong that people, not you personally, have usurped a perfectly nice name to use to be insulting. It has to make people with that name feel uncomfortable.
  17. My folks were in Hawaii on a job many years ago and my mother told me that every night around 8, a gecko would come out and watch tv with her! Cute! She also said the cockroaches were so big that you could practically ride them to the elevator. NOT cute.
  18. How can they kill mosquitoes since mosquitoes can fly and spiders can't? Maybe if they catch one hoofin it, they nab it! 😀 I don't try to kill spiders but I do not want any in my house. I just don't.
  19. Then a place should have been set for him in the first place. As it was, he was singled out from a group of children for special treatment.
  20. They seem to be falling down on the job, since there are still tons of cockroaches, flies, wasps, etc.😃 I am with you, they can contribute to the ecosystem all they want, just not near me or inside my house!
  21. It totally is. I can't watch them at all, and I wonder how the camera person can just stand there and film these poor things!
  22. You forgot the polar bears drowning! I can't watch these ads for one second.
