Why did they schedule so much on the same day? Oh these are two night charters made for TV but they want to overschedule and overwork the crew, so they snipe at each other. Then you have personalities who lash out when stressed. They advertised this show as sometHing for adrenaline junkies. These guests enjoyed the paragliding — one of the crew said parasailing — but it’s not something they specifically sought. They supposedly got some equipment to set up an obstacle course so again, not somethinG the guests asked for. These fussy eaters — one didn’t want scallops and another one only wanted fish — aren’t looking to compete against a much younger crew. They were just sitting on deck waiting to go paragliding — apparently too cold to swim or do water sports. Now the crew are ready to throw each other under the bus. Jess called out the interior in front of the guests, Oriana told Faye she should go to the captain to complain about Jess and Seth is taking potshots at Lewis’ management style — and in previews, he’s ready to lobby for his job. Hmm Oriana wanted to be at least higher rank than Kasie and now Seth wants Lewis’ job. What a coincidence, at least two members of this crew fighting for higher rank. They wouldn’t have been prodded, would they?

That's great to hear. Don't know if we'll get adaptations of those. Maybe HDM is more popular in the UK. If Harry Potter can get all those movies made, why not this series?

Literary critic writes about the ending of the series. She has done a podcast on the earlier seasons. Read in Slate: https://apple.news/AvMhQ2IxqRCeRB9vT3do6og

Last two episodes did seem a bit sentimental. Asriel and Marisa sacrifice to save Will and Lyra and the others. Balthamos apparently sacrifices himself because when he crushed Father Gomez' daemon, he distengrated. And of course the greatest sacrifice is suppose to be Will and Lyra going back to their respective worlds, living the rest of their lives separately, so that the multiverse could heal. Maybe in the books, the notion of giving one's life or making sacrifices for the sake of others is rendered less sentimentally. I'm sure this notion of sacrifice is grander in the books and presumably different from religion since much of the series was about taking down religion, while christianity spreads the notion of the son of God making the greatest sacrifice, to save all of humanity. They showed what is suppose to be an epic battle but in the end, personal sacrifices delivered the victory? Good story but a lot of the world-building was conveyed through the visuals, all these different places or landscape shots denoting worlds alien from each other. Visual effects weren't limited to landscapes though. The monkey in its final scene showed pathos, regret, very memorable image. The epilogue suggests there could be more books featuring Lyra and Pan but if I'm not mistaken, these books were written a long time ago and there haven't been any sequels.

What would they do if some players came down with it? Maybe mild or no symptoms but presumably still infectious? TAR sent a team home when they came down with it, even though they don't share living and sleeping spaces like they do on The Challenge. If someone developed symptoms like fever, fatigue, uncontrolled coughing -- which are still considered mild symptoms -- that could be inopportune if they had to do something strenuous on a particular day. People aren't scared of going out to bars and restaurants full of strangers but if their temporary roommate was visibly sick with the above symptoms which could impede their performance for a Daily or elimination, they might not want to share the room with that person.

The Park appears to be the main HQ of MI5. The Glass House seems to be the skyscraper where Louisa and now Marcus were scoping out to set up the meet with the Russians. I guess the key is they're both in central London and it would be a big deal to have a terrorist attack there. Hell if they blew up a bomb at a Nando's in London, it would be a big deal because of the potential for casualties.

As terrible as it was, that was years ago right, with the pregnancy for the older child? In the mean time, Rachel acted like boss bitch, both at home and at the office. Why wouldn't she sue the hell out of that doctor? And she definitely needed to get counseling, long before the brief marriage counseling scene that they showed. -
Probably, because Jonathan Pryce may not be on the show long term.

At a young age, witnessing the death of one’s closest friend would be traumatic and not easily forgOtten. Especially the guilt she feels, bringing him to her father and feeling betrayed. Plus he haunted her in her dreams. What’s a girl to do, no time for therapy?

Didn’t Danes win an Emmy for Homeland? To me this episode doesn’t seem that different from her work on Homeland. Maybe she was cast in this because she proved she could cry and do the sour face thing. I get that Rachel has intense abandonment issues but even in this episode she does shitty things, like nagging Toby on money, like wanting her kids to meet the right kinds of friends — other children growing up in privilege in Manhattan. She no doubt pushed for that posh apt. and she tries to justify it by noting that he likes amenities like concierge service. She wanted Toby to take that pharma job which Sam set up but IIRC, he wanted to make it easy for them to hang out in Colorado or something like that. And of course she has an affair with Sam, a POS but also a married man. Other minor things like talking down to her employees and the. Said stupid and ugly people are loved so why isn’t she loved. Ok she was having a breakdown but it betrays how she looks down at certain people, which is consistent with her wanting her children only to have deserving friends. Maybe to succeed as an agent, you have to be this aggressive, egotistic asshole. Or maybe the writer of the book or the show modeled her character after Ari in Entourage. -
House Hunters International - General Discussion

Maybe different in Germany. In Italy I’m often carrying a large suitcase, which won’t fit in the main cabin. So I leave it on the end of the trains, where people board and get off. So I try To sit as close to the end of trains, to keep an eye on it or to move it if it gets in the way of others boarding the trains. In any event it’s an unbelievable coincidence that they end up on the same train. As opposed to say being fixed up by their families. -
Why didn’t they kill River? Could it be that they counted on him calling in a code September? We now know that they specifically made them get Slough House involved. Agents like River think of themselves as good agents but they’re at Slough House for reasons which aren’t valid. Marcus hid a gun in the boardroom he and Louisa failed to check the car and the Russians sneaked a gun in. Though what was the point, Webb isn’t important, you’d think they would play along so Taverner was in there. Why is the bald guy driving into London when the city is being locked down and transportation being shut down and he goes to get on a train? Lamb sees that his name was forged so there’s a mole or traitor within MI5. Maybe she’s not flying into London, that little plane would be easy to shoot down. MAybe the husband and daughter are still playing River. If things are as they seem and River helps prevent a major attack, wouldn’t he be promoted back to the Park? Or will it be something else and he’s shown to have been fooled so he remains stuck with Lamb after the finale next week?

Yeah what are the odds that their parents knew each other growing up in Israel but that they meet in Italy, because of train tickets, though I don’t recall seaTs being assigned. Supposedly locals are priced out of centro, especially around all the tourist attractions, where restaurants and bars have higher prices. If they really plan to be there long term, having more space makes sense. They didn’t say where the school for the kid or his business is so that would figure into the equation. Sounded like he also planned to work from home at least some of the time. Do they plan to dine or hang out often in bars and cafes or make use of that large beautiful kitchen a lot? They’ve been married awhile and have a young child so maybe not as much time for fun for themselves. Certainly if they didn’t have the kid, there are so many things to do, not just in Florence but Tuscany, Italy, all of Europe. -

Sure, but I was just mentioning that there may be other reasons to avoid gas stoves, besides this house hunter's fears. -

Well they're discovering there are health issues with gas stoves. Some cities are banning gas hookups from new construction. They're trying to have everyone migrate to induction stoves and cookware. -
It was the one that won it for his team too. How about that? The questions about the ride and dies were the hardest, though for the young players, probably questions about 40 year old movies probably were difficult. Yeah that seems dubious. Did some of these players really flub up some of these obvious questions on purpose? For a change, the women were about the same size. Often the Pole Wrestle, like the Hall Brawl, are big mismatches. Maybe Amber is more active but she also had a good strategy, was going to make Nurys do all the work and then rip it from her when she was tired. The people rooting for Nurys told her to twist and do all these things, make her the one burning up the stamina. Tori was initially not even pretending that she wanted Nurys as the direct vote because she was messing around with Jordan. Even after the little convo, Tori said she didn't blame her. Then in the Zone, she said it's not a personal vote. Yeah sure. And Nany showed her true colors. Moriah is eventually going to find out Nany had a deal with both her and Amber, who already knows Nany made a separate deal with Moriah. Not much they can do though, Moriah's team seems likely to keep losing.

Why wouldn't she tell Toby then? Say to him that it wouldn't be good for the kids to be around her right at that moment. -
Reddit thread with cast photos that Meghan Fahy took. Lot of these actors never did scenes together but apparently got close living and working together for 5 months.

Did she have a bit of an accent? Doesn't sound like she grew up in London? Thing is there are all kinds of digital nomad visas and she seem to be working entirely online. So why go all the way to Cambodia, try to learn a difficult language? I believe she could have found apartments around $1000 in places like Spain, Portugal. Maybe not as roomy and the apartments she saw were relatively modern, with amenities like pool and somewhere to do yoga. I guess you wouldn't find that in Europe for that price. But could be relatively close to a beach and maybe join gym. Might end up costing a bit more but she'd be closer to friends and family. Some of the Vietnamese episodes they've had, the budgets were less than $1000 so maybe SE Asia isn't as cheap as it used to be. -
Katie warms up to Ross again the next morning, after learning the previous night that he was making out with Alissa. Then he's openly flirting with another woman in front of heragain. See even if he decided only to focus on her, she'd have to be prepared to give him sex everyday, often several times a day. She probably felt special because he was giving her attention but he's going to give attention to any and every woman who might have sex with him.

The goodbye meeting was so melodramatic. Some of this crew have only known him for a couple of weeks at most? How the F are they crying over him leaving to get treated? Saw most of the crew standing around while the engineers worked on getting to the source of the smoke. Then afterwards, Ross explains what happened, as if he figured out why the problem was. Sandy rushed out of her cabin, barely dressed, no time to put on a bra under a sweatshirt. Camille thinks everyone is against her. Yeah because you've shown yourself to be a lazy drama queen. Hayley proudly announces on television how proud she is of her skills at keeping her man. What finishing school did she attend? BTW, those mountains are called Pitons but simply means peaks. Sort of sounded like they were saying Tetons, which people have joked refer to breasts.

You know it seemed like Kimberly didn't give one second of thought to consider how Whitney might feel if she started dating Canaan. Ultimately it's her right to but she doesn't think it's possible that Whitney might feel a certain way? Did Whitney give signals that she was over Canaan completely? Well she was telling them about hooking up with the lab partner but she was also saying she doesn't like him that much. -
