That's the other thing, Lee's cursing is part of his character on the show. But why is he cursing out the crew over the PA, near the dock where there are passerbys? They had him curse into a mic so he could be heard over PA speakers? Why not curse on the radio, keep it between him and the crew? It's so performative, in the worst sense of the word.

But I believe the "coming this season" previews showed Katie and Ross fucking or her straddling him so casting for low self-esteem works as designed! Fraser may not be laying down the law but the opposite of his managing style is Kate, who always leaned into conflict and would gang up with one stew and mean girl the third stew so I don't mind that Fraser wants to avoid confrontation. Show is really not about actually running a yacht, it's about confrontations, so good for him for not giving Bravo what they want. Captain Lee's situation, they probably agree he'd do a few episodes, then leave the boat, then make a triumphal return by the end of the season. It's in the script!

Well her parents are Asriel and Marisa so her obstinacy is hardly surprising. I guess the chosen one gets her way. It's her journey, everyone is just along for the ride. But before she saves the worlds, she has to take that journey? Plus she's super mad at daddy for you know, killing her best friend, so going to Asriel is not her first choice. Marisa discovers the hard way that she's in over her head. No way she'd know that the Magisterium would develop some smart bomb that would traipse across different worlds to find the victim. I thought Roke killed the mad scientist but I guess not. Looks like Mary Malone may have something to do other than walk across the wilderness, occasionally running into children. Not sure what she left behind by that tree. Looked like some knitting, like socks or gloves? Asriel can torture and kill angels now. But as Ruta noted, maybe that's not the best way to recruit other angels for his army. All the conversations about whether she was going to cross the river to the Land of the Dead seemed interminable. They got that far, what else is left to discuss? But Pan sure can emote, better than some of the human actors, though of course that's a human voice. The way he turned from Lyra "you've already chosen Roger over me! -- impressive computer animation, they now have rendering technology for petulance!

Well the Subtle Knife is whole again but it is now personalized for Will, have the welds (scars?) from when Will broke it and when he fused it back together, by seeing Lyra in his mind's eye -- Lyra with her hair down, not pulled back, because Will is a teen male now. Asriel's council doesn't quite approve of Marisa and she doesn't approve of Asriel's Republic either. Everyone tries to talk Lyra out of going to the Land of the Dead. So of course she's going and dragging Will along. Marisa steels the Intention Craft to get back to the Magisterium, thinking she can control McPhail, even if she literally has to kiss his ring.

It's also really sucky for long-time subscribers. There may be people who meant to watch this, figured they would always be able to. What if you want to go back watch Six Feet Under or some other great shows which didn't have a huge audience? Some channels like Showtime I think sold some of their older shows to other services so you can't watch those on their service either.

Who was the show runner to take over from Wheadon? Be curious how far they got with writing scripts, pre-production. Or did they have the shooting schedule already?

One thing I missed is that one of the gays didn't want to go on the yacht going back to Taormina because he didn't want to be part of the plot to kill her. That was Matteo and Quentin said something about Matteo being broken up about having to say bye to Tanya before they left his palazzo. So Matteo was never down with the plan to kill Tanya or maybe had last-second misgivings.

The fates of the characters are also probably determined by the availability of these actors. Some like Coolidge are big names and may not have wanted to do more seasons. Same with Hollander, who probably has a lot of offers for parts.

In season 3, there will be at least some posts saying this season misses the over the top energy that Tanya brought. People will miss her.

Mike White said he didn't think she should be killed. Well she wasn't killed by the gay mafia and fake Freddie Mercury. She had a cunning moment, to snatch the bag containing the gun. Then she reverted to ditzy Tanya, trying to make that jump. Even if she landed on the boat, she might have gotten injured, like a broken leg and maybe bleed out. Like I said, people with that kind of money have an entourage or a staff of assistants including security people. She would never be isolated like that. The gays wouldn't have been allowed to come near her without them being checked out first.

She should have a staff of assistants and maybe even security. She was already wary of people approaching her because they were after money. She thought they were high-end gays so not after her money. Security staff would vet these people, who just come out of the blue, being all friendly. Should have paid Portia better or get someone real good even if she had to pay really well. Portia was trapped with Albie. She didn't have the money to take a taxi back to Taormina or to Palermo for that matter. No credit card so that Portia could do errands for Tanya? They made Portia too helpless. Or Tanya was unwilling to pay for someone more savvy.
