Yeah TWD never showed what their characters were living for. Bill and Frank, and probably Joel later, will be depicted as having reasons for doing what they do, beyond mere survival or defeating the other guys. Station 11 is also more spiritual than TWD but I don't know if I quite bought that those characters lived to just put on Shakespeare. IIRC, there was no reason to believe by the end that they had a chance to restore civilization in some way. Maybe TLOU show will convey that hope.

So obvious they wanted as much friction between Faye and Jess as possible. They tried to start something with Faye and Oriana about rank or stripes but that fizzled. So they scheduled all these outings and got it into Faye's head that there must be food for each and every one of them, even if it means serving cold sandwiches in an uncovered bench in the middle of nowhere.

Read on another forum that the cut scenes in the first TLOU game add up to 2 hours. They are slated to have 9 episodes in season 1. So they may need "filler" episodes to produce 9 episodes but standalone episodes can still be pretty great.

One of the reasons I was interested in watching is because of Mazin and his track record. If it was just a straight adaptation of the video game by Druckmann or someone who doesn't have quite the track record, I'd have been more skeptical. Episodes like this one vindicates Mazin's role, greatly improving on the basic game narrative.

Until we see a lot of employers revise their practices and not require 4-year degrees, things like the state of PA removing degrees as requirement or Bari not hiring college-educated people are outliers, a niche, for most white collar jobs. Also, it's not just hiring, there are many cases where people without degrees do well working for years for an organization but then hit a career ceiling, because they lack degrees. Again, you can say those large companies shouldn't require degrees to get promoted past a certain level but that's just the way the world is. I'm sure at the time companies implemented these requirements, there were good reasons to do so. But Bill, Bari and Ryan were not just saying college isn't for everyone. They were calling it bullshit and part of some cartel scam to make people go to college and spend tens of thousands. Again, I'd be surprised if Real Time's writers and segment producers didn't have college education -- maybe they hire some people who didn't complete their degrees. And Ryan was whining about Biden canceling $10k in college debt instead of giving that money to laid off car factory workers in OH. Sure Biden should have done that to help Ryan with those specific voters, as opposed to help millions of people who were unable to do other things like buy homes or start families because of longstanding college loan debt.🙄

Inside the Episode, Druckman said their plan was to deviate from the game if they could do it better. It sounds like Mazin pushed for this expansion of these characters' story. I would imagine they visit Bill's little town to get the truck, battery and supplies to advance towards the next stage in the game. Frank was mentioned as a partner of Bill but maybe not even seen in the game? When I saw the "Don't Tread on Me" and the whole anti-government attitude, I suspected it would be too political for a video game. But then they subverted the stereotype with this romantic story. Bill isn't this hard ass survivalist, he's a lonely guy, which is why he didn't dispatch Frank right away. I doubt in a video game they'd play a Linda Rondstadt song and have Bill sing it. All this is quite off-brand for Offerman. He usually plays the rugged individualist who's self-reliant but Bill is this vulnerable figure. This episode is all about Bill and Frank but Ellie continues to be snotty. I suspect she's not quite like that in the video game either.

Wonder if with the huge positive reaction that Poker Face is getting whether Lyonne would be as interested in doing another season.

Looked like Gina and Jimmy were going to get in on. She accuses him of wanting to fuck her and then leaves the room but it looks like she wanted it too, at least a little. Also she gets in the dig, "do you want to fuck me or are you going to let Frank take care of that for you too?" Maybe explains all the sniping she does at him. They're both a bit pissed after Clay Davis denied them some lucrative waterfront development deal that they bribed the former mayor into giving them. Gina is also not getting Fia to agree to christen little Rocco so she decides to blow up Mo's night club deal. Mo in turn tells Little Mo to not do a drug deal in Houston because she needs mo' money. Somehow, Eugene ends up with a bag of cash. Kid's not out of the picture. Wait until the Baxters find out. Michael is still in daze, not as much as before he learned he has a grandchild. He's visiting Fia, helping to calm little Rocco, giving Fia advice on dealing with other people in her life. Maybe he will also advise her to change her name or go by her full name.

You look at job postings and sure, a lot of those jobs can be done by people who don't have a college degree even if they list one as a requirement. But it's been like this for DECADES. There are thousands or millions of workers in similar jobs with degrees. So if they suddenly lowered the bar and gave people similar pay to those who went to college, there would be some resentment. The other thing is many large employers use college as a filtering mechanism. They assume if a job candidate showed aptitude to get admitted into college with some degree of exclusivity (low percentage of those admitted to those who applied) and earned a degree, they have certain ability -- intelligence, diligent work habits, etc. Again, Bill and others may say that kind of system is wrong but you're not going to get hundreds or thousands of larger companies to abandon it without a better reason than "college is bullshit." Also, in addition to resentment from those with college education getting similar pay with those who didn't go to college, a lot of hiring people -- not talking about whole HR policies which definite job requirements almost always listing college degrees as the first requirement -- went to college themselves. So if an applicant went to the same university or maybe to a rival university that the hiring person knows and respects, they're automatically going to be more predisposed to hire that candidate. That has happened to me, benefitting from the fact that the hiring person liked the school I went to. May not be fair to those who didn't go to college but people are going to gravitate towards others with similar backgrounds, whether that's in hiring workers or in social settings as well. For instance, I cited that more females are enrolling in college than males. When those women get their degrees and work for a few years in the work force, they may start looking for potential mates. They might meet men who didn't go to college but are nevertheless successful. Odds are that the men who did go to college are more likely to be successful. But many of those women may believe that they have more to talk about with someone else who went to college than someone who didn't. That may not be true in all cases but it may become a pattern, as more women get college degrees and get white collar jobs, they may be more inclined to have relationships with men with white collar jobs as opposed to say men who worked in construction, maybe some have their own businesses.

I went to high school decades ago so my info. is probably out of date. I think there were wood shop classes and maybe home economics or something like that. People who planned to apply to college wouldn't take those classes. Wood shop, people know whether they have the skill for it right away. Sure experienced carpenters can make money, if the construction industry is on a building boom. With higher interest rates and high office space vacancy in big cities because more people have been working from home during the pandemic -- and many don't want to go back at all -- maybe basing your high school education on the construction trades isn't as solid as Ryan thinks. I think Mike Rowe has been on the show as well, touting the same message. A local community college offers classes for auto mechanics. So those jobs can't be exported. But with the advent of EVs, they aren't going to need as many auto mechanics in the future. EVs have a lot less mechanical systems and parts. The other trend is, more females are enrolling and graduating from college relative to males. Recent enrollments are trending around 55% female. Girls do the work in school and do better, so they have reinforcements to continue their education while it's almost the opposite for boys, who can do low-skilled labor out of college. It's certainly possible for a high school graduate to make good money but the aggregate statistics show otherwise, that they will lag college graduates in career income, by a lot. So Bill talking about it and having guests who nod their heads, while being college graduates themselves like Ryan and Weiss, is performative populist BS. A few years back, the last time Rick Santorum ran for office, he said not everyone should go to college. This is a guy with all kinds of degrees at the top universities and law schools in the country. Pretty sure someone on Real Time pointed out this hypocrisy. Now Bill is embracing the same bull.

The populist pandering vs. college was so ridiculous. Tim Ryan has to pander because OH has become so red and all those factory workers had nothing else going as the world changed. He should have been telling them to save for their children's college at least. Telling them they don't need college in this world is not doing them any favors. College educated workers earn far more over their working lives than those who don't go to college. Period. Bari Weiss, yeah she's gotten her opportunities with a GED? They talked about Josh Shapiro not requiring college degrees for PA state jobs. So why don't bill do the same? How many of his writers and segment producers didn't go to college? Why not go hire some new writers at some bobo team place. Plenty of high school kids waiting in line there. Or go pick up those people waiting outside Home Depot waiting for day jobs? I guess Bill isn't going to do stand up shows in college any more. That's right, that bridge is long burnt. But he'll fly private to go to his shitty shows.

My guess is Bravo can't easily find captains who are willing to do the show. They'd have to be relatively good on camera. I don't know if they screen test the cast but most of them are not shy. This season, they have a couple of deckhands, Mike and Luis who are low-key compared to other crew members. Captain probably has to be an outgoing person and not embarrassed about doing reality TV. Maybe they're retired or semi-retired and don't have to worry too much about damage to their reputations. That's one reason the captains don't go out drinking with the crew and be seen on TV up to drunken antics. Bravo may pay okay for a short stint of a month or month and a half of filming and the various promotional things they have to do, appear on WWHL, go to Bravocon and all the other BS. But they probably don't pay enough compared to the profits they make from these shows, so some captains may demand too much pay. As for Gallery Talk, it records on my DVR even though I never set it to. But I promptly delete it. The shows have to stand on their own. If you have to watch some supplemental thing, what does it say about the show? Plus you know they won't say anything critical of Bravo or talk about what's likely happening behind the scenes, that is producer shenanigans. Once you watch a show like Unreal, you look at all reality show through the lens of what they depicted there, the pressure to manipulate cast members, to create drama for ratings.

Seems like they want a vacation home for now while they continue to work back in Pittsburgh. For a change, these house hunters couldn't work remotely. So I can see wanting to be near amenities. Maybe they don't plan to have a car all the time when they go to France so they want walkability. She talked about cooking, liking to learn recipes dependent on seasons because French cuisine is tied to fresh produce? Really? Is it any more about fresh produce than other types of cuisines? But until they're living full time in France, are they cooking more or going out more? They did say they like going to market days every week so maybe a bit of both. Not sure why they wanted 3 bedrooms just for themselves but if they do plan to have friends and family come over, things like the number of bedrooms and bathrooms matter more. They all had good outdoor space. BTW, a bit confusing, they referred to Vaucluse. There is a city called Vaucluse in the eastern part of France and it is near the Swiss border, actually not far from Bern. But Vaucluse is also a department (or like a state) which is in the southern part of France, just north of Marseille. The biggest city is Avignon and the Luberon are a huge tourist magnet, famous for the lavender fields among other things. They mostly talked about Vaison-la-Romaine which is on the northern part of the Vaucluse. This city has a Roman amphitheater, which they didn't mention in the episode. I don't think it's as huge a tourist attraction as other cities and villages in the Vaucluse.

Just saw a commercial for “Serhant” where it’s about the new way to bUy and sell real estate, much faster than the old way. They put up a QR code, made it sound like they’re selling nationally, not just luxury homes in NYC. Ryan appeared at the end to announce the company name. Maybe he misses being on TV, or rather his business misses being on TV? You would think high end real estate would be more immune to higher interest rates and recession fears because a lot of deals are in cash.

Have to plan to do a rewatch of season 3 a couple of weeks before March 26th.

I wonder if they could have tried to use two rungs and hold the third rung all the time. So they make slower progress but it reduces the chance of the third rung falling off the rope ladder.

The guests provide content and Bravo makes millions of dollars from these shows. Guests should not only expect not to pay but to have their expenses (flights, hotels, meals) covered if not get some appearance fee of some kind. Then again, maybe some people are that desperate to be on TV that they let Bravo make all that money off them. It's also true of the crew cast members, whatever they get paid is a pittance compared to what Bravo makes off these shows.

Finals haven't really been good for larger, stronger players. It's about pure endurance. Fessy may still be strong in that area because he's younger than all the other men except Horacio and may have more cardio-vascular fitness than anyone except again Horacio. We really don't know how they choose the elimination challenges. But it's really convenient timing for all other challengers that they brought out this particular rope challenge when Fessy was in the elimination. Only an eating challenge would have been worse for Fessy. In any event, it looks like there's an eating challenge in the Final, so it just wasn't in the cards for him.

Tori and Devins plan worked to perfection. They win the most important Daily of the season and they wanted Fessy and Moriah out first followed by Nany and Bananas. Producers decided to use the second most lethal thing to behemoth Fessy, which is an elimination which favors agility and lightness. Most lethal thing for him are eating challenges. I think 100 hour is going to tax the endurance of everyone, not just Aneesa. Horacio is probably the most fit but he’ll probably struggle as well. There will be an eating challenge, severe weather, maybe sleep deprivation.

Yeah it sounded like someone exaggerated how affordable PV is. It's so well known, you figure it's wishful thinking to be near the beach without a lot of compromises. I forget how much it was but a gay couple bought in the Romantic Zone in a recent PV episode, in a modern condo high-rise, with nice rooftop pool. So PV seems to have a wide range of prices.

Um, they will have Niles and Daphne's son but not Niles and Daphne? Not sure how that's a good thing.

I don't know, I wouldn't be surprised if they re-cast Faye again, along with Kerry.

Josh was on for a few seasons, brought a lot of drama. He's been off for a couple of seasons and maybe doesn't come back?

I think people are confusing two different sets of guests. The first part of the episode, it was the guests from the previous episodes, for a 24-hour charter, who went horseback riding. They got on the boat in the afternoon and they were the ones who said they wanted pizza before leaving the yacht. They showed Jess making the pizza but not the guests really eating it. Then they ate Faye's little snack spread, came back and had a meal. That snack probably delayed them returning to the boat by an hour or so. Yeah under Faye's plan, there could have been cold sandwiches there or something which couldn't be reheated. Then the new guests, the Singaporeans, came on board and those were the ones who came to lunch late. They spent time on board, drinking in the hot tub. Then they dressed up for 8 PM dinner but the women didn't come out of the rooms until 10 PM and then they spent about an hour having pre-dinner drinks. They didn't sit until 11 PM. Again, I suspect the producers screwed with that schedule too.
