  1. If they get someone like Meryl Streep, they're going to feature her as much as possible, as much as she wants to work, which could be all the episodes of the season or maybe half. Streep probably wouldn't have signed on unless they showed her that she was going to play a major character in the season arc. She's only done TV later in her career, probably not getting as many movie offers? But also TV shows now have a season-long narrative, whereas 20-30 years ago, it was mostly broadcast network TV and they did standalone episodes, a couple dozen a year, with a lot of guest stars. So movie stars might make a little cameo here and there but not sign on for multiple episodes as often as they do now.
  2. Yeah I wondered what happened in her first marriage. They kept saying she had resident rights in Melbourne, which sounded odd. Then they mentioned her first marriage. Melbourne is a great place to live and raise the baby but Colombia probably would have been more affordable and it's closer in time zone to his San Francisco employer. But the guy, who's going to be paying for everything, seems really happy to be near the beach and he says it was love at first sight, at least for him. Still it's probably less than what he was paying in San Francisco, though he'd feeding 5 mouths? If her job contributed significantly, they probably would have found a way to be closer to the city. Or find another salon job in the burbs? But Lucas kept it light and fun.

    Fargo In The Media

I would imagine. Don't all FX shows go to Hulu? Until their deal ends, whenever that might be. But Disney owns FX and owns a part of Hulu and supposedly Disney wants to buy out Comcast, which also owns Hulu.
  4. Aren't these characters also assimilated into larger pop culture? Aren't "dogs" something out of hip hop? Or those twins seem to be steeped into that lingo. Sure they're conscious of their Native-American heritage and seems aware of the lore, like Deer Lady or the imagined warrior on the horse. But the rest of the time, these kids are watching just a lot of TV and movies, listening to the same music as their peers from all other ethnic groups.

    Fargo In The Media

Season 5 to premier on Tuesday, 11/21/23 on FX. https://deadline.com/2023/08/fargo-fifth-season-premiere-date-first-images-1235521371/
  6. So is it suppose to be significant, Elora's father is a Rick Miller?
  7. It's fun but is it really the best example of musical prowess?
  8. OK I guess I should have said Martin Short isn't known for music. Or not as well known. Neither is Steve Martin though obviously he's sung in his standup and in movies? Or at least danced in them. Selena started out as a musical artist but seems mostly an actress now. She could probably sell records though if she recorded new music.
  9. I can't feel bad about Sweety's demise. He got greedy, could have turned in the gun and this would have been over a long time ago. But he set up the wrecking crew didn't he? So his hands aren't clean, just because he didn't brutalize or kill the people they were extorting like Mansell did. The only thing that was good was him putting down Clement's crack cover performance. Yeah dumb luck, Mansell walked right into a stakeout and an ambush. Why didn't Sweety give him at least the page or the book to incriminate him? Sandy can't be doing a side deal on her own selling that painting could she? I doubt Mansell cares about the art, just probably figured it could be sold for more money.
  10. Wow Streep can sing, especially at her age. But no way Loretta reads the lyrics for the first time and then belts it out with the invisible band accompaniment. Then the Ashley Park character joins in the middle of the performance and hits high notes and they were in sync. But it's great that they chose to integrate musical performances into this season. I don't think Short has a musical background or is noted for singing is he? Steve Martin and Selena Gomez obviously are known for their singing. Would be kind of ironic if they didn't perform at some point. Obviously they want to have Meryl Streep for the whole season but there's no way Loretta would pass up that TV deal. Nor should she.
  11. Laura seemed to be a good worker, willing to do housekeeping whenever asked. She had a little thing about iced wines and lime juice with Aesha and the bigger problems were of course making the others wait and the sexual harassment.
  12. And if Aesha continues to try to block Tzarina from sleeping with Joao, they probably knew that Tzarina and Joao also have a history.
  13. Though I get it when he said he used to commute at least 3 hours a day and sometimes he'd mow lawns after he returned home. 5 bedrooms, 2 acres of land. They must have netted a lot of money. High school sweethearts, still together, her obviously feeling empty nest syndrome, him just wanting to relax.
  14. Who was the blond waitress, the sardonic one? She looked like McKenzie Davis.
  15. We criticize how obviously manipulative these shows are, how they go for the lowest common denominator. However, there's no question that the BD show producers and Bravo are very effective at getting viewer engagement, which includes not just snark but people criticizing the cast, the producers and other elements of the show. Look at the activity here. And I'm sure on Twitter and other places, they get even more reactions. Some viewers may be hate-watching but it's oddly compelling. Just like you can't sometimes resist junk food, the same may be true of trash TV to a certain extent.
  16. Was it Culver that kind of led Courtney on, making her believe they'd go on some van trip together after the first season of BDDU? He didn't shut it down and she kept thinking that would happen, while Szi liked her? Jamie is hot as everyone noticed but she seems quite a bit younger than Culver. Maybe that's what he likes.
  17. But they made it so much a thing, with them filming the morning hugs and so forth. Then them individually talking to other crew members about their "date." Not to mention all the talking heads, with her prompted probably to talk about how "good" it would be for her to date nice guy instead of the types she's used to dating. Then setting up the whole place on deck, which probably involves letting the camera crew set up while they do their date. Can they really feel spontaneous under those conditions? When the camera is filming their convo becomes stilted and Margot says there was no flow. Then a kiss, maybe she felt she had to kiss them for the cameras. If that was the case, no wonder she didn't feel it was "electric" or as Aesha put it, there was no tingle. She may indeed not be interested in him romantically but when they have to put on a show for a camera, maybe there's no chance at all. The hookups are a lot easier when they're out and they've had some drinks. Just steal a kiss like Luke did or just start making out like Culver and Jaime did, don't even think about it that long. Those are more spontaneous, with alcohol as lubricant.
  18. Chuck betrayed him, denied him generational wealth by screwing over his IPO to trap Axe. I don't recall, Ira was going to marry this tall gorgeous blond but after his IPO deal blew up, he couldn't afford the giant engagement ring any more so did she leave him? Maybe not, and that's why Ira ultimately forgave Chuck?
  19. Yeah what happened, Paul just mellowed with age or something? They don't show what's happening with his work, which was a source of stress in previous seasons. Ally and Paul are getting along better but with their date night disrupted, the drought -- them not having sex in awhile -- continues. Hmm, that can't be related can it, Ally withholding and Paul being nicer to everyone, even the nosy neighbor?
  20. Tzarina likes Jason, then she likes Culver, then she likes the female porn guest. Maybe she likes Joao too, certainly flirting with him. Margot on the other hand doesn't feel a tingle down there when her and Harry's tongue's touch, as Aesha put it. Does it take that kind of kiss to be able to tell? I'm guessing Margot knew already. Jaime and Tzarina just met so no girl code. But maybe for the sake of peace at the office, she wouldn't go there? Yes Culver is definitely at fault but Jaime isn't innocent either. Wow the casting people sure knows how to find them, get them on the ship, give them some drinks and they're not wasting any time before making out. Even Adam is getting in on it. He likes this Laura, her personal shower. The whole crew seemed to be into the body desert thing, all were filming with their phones.
  21. Culver was actually pissed that he wasn't allowed to be CEO and play more with the porn people. That he had to actually work, or do the tasks Joao gave him after he saw that they were playing with the porn guests on the beach. Then the deckies accuse Joao of just giving orders and not working himself. Was it this episode or the next one where Jamie arrived? The guys were all over her. The women all noted she was hot and Margot was pissed about it.
  22. Has Jonna won any season other than the All Star seasons? She won twice there, the seniors tour as it were. Then they brought her back to the regular tour and now the expanded tour. But I don't think she's won has she? She's great with puzzles, figuring things out under pressure but he's not going to out run, out swim or out wrestle anyone.
  23. And if this new girlfriend appears on the show, we know what she's about.
  24. I think they said twice a week for the first 3 or 4 weeks. Then once a week.
  25. She's managed to appear how many seasons without really threatening to win or even survive many eliminations. She does that by being loud and antagonizing some of the vets. That must get her noticed enough by the producers to keep casting her. She can't really believe she's got a chance to win, even if she made the Final, she isn't outrunning and out-lasting anyone else.
