Maybe not on real charters where they require reliability. But on a TV show, to those making casting decisions to maximize drama? His anxiety is probably looked at as a Pro for him.
-
But in this case it’s a TV show, where they want drama and conflict. So whatever pressure a luxury charter May place on a chef, multiply it on BD! But Matt had worked for demanding rich bosses so that has to be tougher than pleasing the hoi polloi they cast on BD as charter guests, though the producers are trying to create situations which will lead to clashes.

Million Dollar Listing NY - General Discussion

She'd have made a good salary at a Manhattan firm, maybe in time she could become partner and be making millions. But Ryan was already making millions, if not tens of millions, so her salary dwarfed in comparison and she'd have to put in a few years of 80 hours or more a week. How quickly did they have the child after they met or after they got married? She must have gotten a good prenuptial agreement, if she left Ryan after x years, she'd still have more money than by working. Or she gets half of this big brownstone or at least some of the properties they've acquired since marriage. Not that she's planning to leave, because it looks like she's got him pretty wrapped. -
They can't make the whole season about Angelina's marriage again. Guys are making too big a deal but they are so bereft of story ideas? Pauly had some funny banter, like his girlfriend embarrassing him in front of his friends, then making some cracks about Vinny. Actually could be a funny guy but they have him doing his prank personal and screaming into the megaphone. I guess nobody will be mocking Jenni about 24 any more. She moved on real quick from her divorce. Maybe she sees him becoming a big wrestling star.

Yeah it's just speculation that they're paying high rent. Even 4500 AUD would be a lot and 1 AUD is worth about 70-75 cents US. Maybe there aren't tax advantages to owning a home there as there is in the US. They chose a rather large home for the 3 of them along with a dog. Maybe his employer is giving them a very generous housing allowance. -

Maybe their move to Sydney isn't as permanent as they portray. -
I doubt this swimsuit rivalry is a real thing. They both must have good number of IG followers but the show isn't some smash hit so it can't be that big. Neither of them are going to turn their own branded bikinis into some huge business. I thought the big money was IG influencers just endorsing or doing product placements of other people's brands, once they had a huge number of followers. So somebody must have thought hey two hot girls who both look good in bikinis. They are BFFs one season but what if they become bitter rivals over some supposed huge business deal? I don't get why Cara is back. She's suppose to be really loaded yet she grovels to all these cast members who aren't even HS graduates, as she characterized it?

This Sydney episode was another HHI trope about going to live abroad because of a parent's death. The wife was inspirational in being so upbeat. Can MS progress though, become more difficult for her? They showed her playing more with the dog than their son. -

If the Amsterdam couple have more children they might be more relegated to staying home. Sounds like they want to do a lot of traveling, which is hard enough with one toddler. The yard would be some work for the hubby. They must have a pretty big entertainment and travel budget, though can you really take a kid to some trendy pubs and wine bars or they have to go to family restaurant? Also imagine packing clothes and other stuff for the kid as well as a crib makes travel a lot harder than if they just went by themselves. -
Thing about this show is that they really do the glam hair and makeup, light and block the scenes. So you’d think they’d rehearse or walk through some scenes just to make sure cameras and lights are perfect. They do that with The Hills too, give it a very polished look, no handheld cameras chasing cast members. Even when there’s an eruption, the cameras are already in place. Maybe Juliette isn’t on target the very first time she lashes out at Kelsey. The one genuine reaction from Juliette was last season when they lived together. They had some pizza and wine while talking about relationships and Juliette learns something that makes her unhappy so she grabs more pizza and wine, as if to say “fuck it, need some comfort food.”

Caitlynn looks like she wanted to "fix" Brody, make him the husband and father that he's avoided being so far. Wasn't it some weird situation about them not really being married, even though she claimed they were? -
And they have an exercise room with a big treadmill. Yeah Katie seems good at her job and has standards. So why is she on Bravo? Lexi is going to be a problem. The chef, really high maintenance. We might wonder later in the season how they got him to come back. These guests … the brunette one dressed down Sandy about the dinner but then was rolling her eyes back at the mussels like she was having an orgasm. Then drinking all day, kept Katie busy doing nothing else but making drinks. Of course there will be drama between the cast. Bravo has been casting these shows for a long time. They know what they want. Besides interpersonal conflicts, we’re going to have the “who’s gonna be fired or going to quit” subplots and it appears Sandy and Malia will be on the outs with each other. Sandy says impossible to get another chef on short notice so is she getting someone into quarantine? You figure Bravo already has a couple of potential replacements nearby, as they’ve done on these BD shows, as contingencies. They must have a chef stashed in Croatia, already quarantining? But depending on when they shot this, Croatia was open to tourists from just about everywhere last summer. In the winter, things got rough as covid cases took off in US and Europe.

I like Tyler's bubbly personality in general but in this episode it grated. So much "you're the best! LOVE YOU!" So TIRING! His enthusiasm probably gets him some listings but that uplifting personality like anything else has to be taken in doses. -

I really wonder if this is how high-end NY real estate works, you hold these open house parties for brokers and you go for all kinds of publicity stunts like the exercise session that Kirsten did or the psychic/life coach sessions. Do buyers brokers really need to be inspired or bribed with such gimmicks? Isn't the prospect of earning 5 or 6-figure commissions enough motivation? Or do they script these parties just for the show? Kirsten said she's thinking outside the box and you have to do it in covid times but the show has ALWAYS had these stunts, perfect for Frederick and Ryan to ham it up for the cameras. If she said I had to pay x dollars for the exercise woman to hold a session and all the catering they had to do, how all that fit into the marketing budget, how that was split between the seller and broker, it would be boring details but it would be more credible. Instead you suspect the ideas and the money for these parties, which are certainly more interesting to film on TV than boring standard showings, are coming out of the show production budget. As for Ryan's renovation show, they have so much space they can dedicate a music room to listen to record, not play music, then a floor for the toddler. All the excesses of the 1% on display. Most rich people are discreet but not the Serhants! Nothing they won't sell off to Bravo, though this show probably isn't representative of their daily life. Does the kid spend more time with the nannies or the parents? Emilia doesn't work so she should be able to spend most of the day with her daughter but she has to be able to go spend money. -

As it happens, Monaco currently bars people from entering unless they have a 72-hour negative test. Exception made for residents of neighboring French cities. It would be a longer commute for him but in Nice, there would be a much larger rental market. He'd have to take a longer train or bus ride though. I would think that a 2 bedroom and 1 bathroom apartment would be more attractive than a 1 bedroom and 2 bathroom apartment. He should remove the toilet and just convert it into a little room. -
OK, Deena didn't pick the Poconos for them. Producers did because they'd have to cut a deal with the venue to be able to film there as well as a negotiated price. I guess MTV wanted them to film in the winter, so they make Pauly leave sunny Vegas. They must have paid for his private jet, though he can afford one himself? They're also making Laurens and Deena go on this "family vacation" while very pregnant. Snookie makes a short appearance just to have that sit down with Angelina but she's not talking to the others? Because she's going to surprise them in the Poconos? They go through the trouble of sending film crews to different parts of the country, just so they can film Ronnie talking to Angelina. So even when they're not filming the whole cast, they may be doing individual scenes throughout the year. Angelina and Chris are going to go. They want that TV money. Chris wasn't driving a Cadillac before he got on the show. I wonder if they will do another international trip. Or maybe the cast, now with familial obligations, may not want to travel far or for as long a time. Maybe MTV agrees to keep these trips to a couple of weeks but in exchange, they're doing them more often, just to air more episodes around the year?

Not to defend JL but maybe if there wasn’t a pandemic he might have gone to Australia with Dani, seen the baby born, probably had a whole different reaction. It’s virtually impossible for non residents to enter now. If he wanted to completely bail on taking any responsibility, he could have avoided interviewing with Andy and stayed silent on social media. But the whole “If she’s my child” is a bad bad look. He’s young so he may not want to be tied down but a few years down the line he might regret passing up a chance to be in his daughters life.

Caitlynn is on the show because she’s a pretty young thing and may have drama as Brody boinks other women. Women in their 30s should know better than to get involved with him but looks like Audrina hasn’t been paying attention, even though she alludes to being mistreated herself. Caitlynn should chalk up her marriage as a youthful mistake and move on but on this show she has to appear like she’s bothered whenever Brody is with someone else. -

People on shows will pop the bottles and let it spray. They’re not the ones paying $50 or more a bottle. TV doesn’t mind, it looks cool to have it spray out and people reacting to it. They apparently rented a swanky Airbnb for Kristin so they could film her and Audrina popping that bottle among other things. The little reception party for Kristin, full of vapid dialogue and them screaming and laughing at everything. She does look great for being a mother of 3 young kids. So does she still have her own show? those flashbacks from the original Hills I don’t even remember. Kristin was on The Hills and she was hooking up with Brody? And Kristin introduced Heidi to Spencer? I thought LC got away from Laguna Beach to get away from Kristin among others. Then they put in Spencer and Brody on the show, probably over her objections. And Heidi, who was supposedly LCs good friend, decided to bang Spencer, who was spreading vicious rumors about LC’s sex tape and the appearance of her privates. All before social media but there was a lot of online chatter then, using whatever online media was popular then. So if the producers brought on Kristin, that was another twisting of the knife. No wonder LC got the hell out. -
Well MTV must need to fill a lot of hours of programming with "reality TV" these days that they're willing to reboot JS or The Hills. Guess enough viewers from back in the day like us are watching and keeping them on the air.

Before the pandemic, they were airing SC from spring to summer. The last season about the pandemic, with filming interrupted, aired from Oct to Feb of this year. obviously they weren’t going to air another season starting in April or May. so if they’re going to air in Oct or Nov. they’d have to start filming soon. or maybe they will film in fall and winter and air next spring? does Bravo cancel any of their shows? maybe they’re waiting for the furor over Catherine to die down so they can bring her back? but didn’t Austen have an affair or hooked up with some other reality show personality a few months back? if they haven’t filmed anything but still tries to make hay, it will be a year since this supposed hookup happened so it would again show that they’re out of ideas.

What kind of recourse would Dani have? Sue for child support in a US court? Croatian court? Brazilian court? Either JL was really crafty, fooling her and saying the "right things" on camera about how serious he was or months after the season, being away from each other, he realized he didn't want to be tied down to her, especially financially. After being on TV, which you'd think on a relatively obscure TV show, he may have groupies after him and he realized he's 25, not ready to settle down, have to be a father. It's shitty but not unexpected either.

Half paying attention, how do high school kids go to some black tie event? And Kevin got into some chauffeured car or just a fancy Uber? seems like that family is doing well financially? That alternative birth, is it covered by insurance or they pay out of pocket? Is this suppose to take place in the Southside, supposedly underprivileged? Forget if Kevin got scholarship to that private school. Well you knew Trig was going to clash with his friend about Imani.

I guess the finishes weren't shiny. Or other properties in that price range get the latest fixtures and tiles. Kind of wasteful to trash all that stuff after just 10 years abut maybe not trendy enough to command the highest prices. When high end properties were selling well and prices kept going up, I'm sure the designers who make these fixtures and tiles and so on found ways to make more expensive products. -
I hope not, that would get old. In fact it's already gotten too old. Producers need to go beyond TMZ and social media for story ideas. OK, the Snookie reunion, everyone loved. But she wasn't in all the other gatherings in this episode. So what's the holdup? You'd think Jenni would have been talking to Nicole so she might have known she was coming back. But she really seemed surprised. I wonder how much these people talk or message or how often they get together. At times it looks like they really enjoy each other's company. But they're being paid a lot of money to do this TV show about "family vacations." Some of them certainly would talk regularly and get together, if they live near each other. But they may be closer to other friends or family and see them in their daily lives. I could see some of them going away on trips together but if they weren't being paid would they go away for weeks on these family vacations? Well nobody really does that in real life. Maybe 2-3 weeks for some special trip like to Europe, once in awhile. Their mission now is come together and act the fool for TV money. At least they're not brawling like they used to. Or not at this minute at least. But the truth may be that MTV wants to see them fight rather than always be cumbaya.
